Complaint: Honda Financial has never repossessed this vehicle. Honda refuses to accept monogram payments deliberately delaying the payments to further add late fees. In addition I asked to have the fees reversed and they told me that they reversed the fee. Now I look and review my account and see that not only did they add new repossession fees new late fees and now they also misapplied my payments and re instated a repossession fee that they told me on recorded line that they had reversed.
Please help. They are charging more than 50 % per month in late fees and repossession fees without accepting cash payments made through XXXX services in order to then add more late fees. It is usury and criminal. Please class action for all the people who are trying to bring their accounts up to date and are then lied to about how payments are applied to the vehicle loans. Further the tactic of delaying the application of the payments made so they can charge more fees. Finally I believe Honda Financial is silent owner for the debt repossession company they claim is a third party company but it is partly owned by Honda Financial. In other words they make no attempt to repossess the vehicle they simply send letters and place usury charges onto the vehicle loan accounts.
The monthly car loan is XXXX. The fees can total nearly {$550.00} in the same month by the tactic of refusing to accept the payments onto the account. I still own the vehicle and it is currently paid. I did not agree to the fees and they now refused to apply my payments to the principal and interest of my car loan and only apply the payments to the fees. They are also simply going into the full loan amount due and misapplying how the payments sent in are to be applied to the car loan.
Stop these guys. There is definitely criminal stuff going on with Honda Financial.

Complaint: I had leased a XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX for 3 years with XXXX miles per year through Honda Financial Services. All the payments were made and nothing outstanding left on the bill. had the inspection done on the car on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. Then on XXXX XXXX, XXXX I returned my lease to the XXXX dealership. Apparently all was good received a copy of the odometer report which had over XXXX miles left on it, the only thing I received back was my handicap plate. On Friday XXXX XXXX, XXXX we received a notice from Honda Financial Services that stated - Once the vehicle is returned, you will be provided with an " Lease End Balance Statement '' reflecting the final amount due which may differ from this preliminary statement. We did not receive anything. They are requesting {$350.00} Turn In Fee. There is not and was not anything at anytime that reflected a return fee, it further stated that if I was to release a vehicle they would waive this charge. We are waiting to receive the actual bill however I am beyond words as to be being charged after paying my lease in full car returned in good shape and then a charge for returning the vehicle at the end of my lease. I understand that they give you 25 days to pay otherwise they sue

Complaint: Honda Financial Services collected, and continued to attempt to collect, propery tax for XXXX and XXXX, even though they reclaimed a leased car in XXXX XXXX, and know that they sold it in XXXX XXXX. Four months of calls, still unresolved. HFS knows the debt is in error, yet will not give clear direction on how to resolve the issue, and keeps trying to collect the debt ( letters, calls ) even though they know the debt is an error on their part. Representative also make false/misleading statements on what I signed when I originally leased the car in XXXX.
XXXX XXXX - Honda XXXX returned to dealer to close out lease XXXX XXXX - I returned plates to CT DMV. New systems was implemented, plate data was not properly migrated to the new system. Registration was deemed " expired ''.
XXXX XXXX - HFS sells Honda XXXX XXXX XXXX - property tax bill from HFS received for {$270.00}. Thinking this was for XXXX, it was paid in full. Property tax was actually for XXXX, when I did not own the car.
XXXX XXXX, XXXX - HFS sends bill for XXXX property tax. When called on this, they said they had received bills from the Town of XXXX, CT for property tax and had paid it. Said I needed to pay the bill, and then go to the town to rectify/get a refund.
XXXX XXXX, XXXX - Received statement from Town of XXXX on property tax due for XXXX.
XXXX XXXX, XXXX - Called HFS, they acknowledged that the car was sold, and I asked them to send proof of turning the car back in. They said they needed a statement from the Town Assessor that the property tax was not to be paid.
XXXX XXXX, XXXX - Took day off work and went to Town of XXXX Assessors office. Spoke to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Reviewed that the plates were " expired '' and not cancelled, so they would continue to send property tax statements to HFS. Corrected that in their system. XXXX said the town would no longer send bills, and that HFS could submit for a refund. The Town can not refund me, since the bill was paid by HFS. We called HFS together. I explained the situation and opened case # XXXX. The HFS representative said that Honda has no process to cross check that property tax bills are valid, just pays them. She said she made note in the account that the property tax bill was in error and that it would not be collected. She said that at the close of the case, HFS would issue a pro-rated refund of the prior tax bill. I should owe for one month ( XXXX XXXX ) of property tax. She would also send a statement of when the car was turned in to me for my records. And to provide to the state if necessary. She indicated no further action was due on my part.

Called HFS. Spoke to 'XXXX XXXX She said that I needed to cancel my plates with CT before HFS could ask for a refund from the town. I recounted my prior conversation with XXXX and HFS rep. She said that was incorrect and that I signed a statement saying that I " would pay the property tax until I cancelled the plates for the car ''. Which meant I owed the tax. I asked her to send me a copy of the statement I signed. She put me on hold for 10 minutes. When she came back, she said that she did not have that documentation. I told her it was becuase I signed no such document and that it was against the law to lie to me to try and collect a debt. I asked for her supervisor. She refused. She referred me to an " escallation officer '', XXXX, who was not available. She said I need a cancellation statement from the state, indicating the plates were cancelled, or returned. I asked for a refund of the overpayment of property tax for XXXX. She refused.
XXXX XXXX - Called back. Spoke to XXXX. Gave case number. XXXX was in a meeting and not available. I gave her XXXX XXXX 's number. XXXX said she would call and talk to XXXX, on how HFS can get a refund ( out of my hands ), and also make a note in the account that the account was in dispute and not to be collected.
XXXX XXXX, XXXX - Even though the town does not need documentation on the plates, I submitted paperwork to the state for claiming loss of plates. A letter indicating this was received.
XXXX XXXX, XXXX - Called XXXX, Town Assessor, she had paperwork from Honda saying the car was sold by Honda in XXXX. The car was removed from the tax roles permanently XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. She needed no further documentation, and was waiting for Honda to apply for a refund. The tax bill for XXXX would be for XXXX & XXXX XXXX and would be {$46.00}, of which I should owe half since I returned the car to Honda in XXXX.
XXXX XXXX, XXXX - Called HFS, talked to XXXX. She read through my files and said the request for refund was submitted by HFS to XXXX. She indicated that there was a hold letter on my account from XXXX. She said she would put another hold on it to stop letters from going out. She said she would get back to me on the reimbursement. New case # XXXX.
XXXX XXXX, XXXX - Called HFS, talked to XXXX. No indication of why I would be contacted. Said I need to send in plate cancellation documentation. Then said HFS had that from XXXX. She said the account was paused and not affecting my credit. I asked status. She said she did n't know and put me on hold to find out. XXXX, note in the account that they need plate cancellation receipt. I asked for a refund. She said that I needed to pay the amount. I then corrected her on the fact that I am owed money. She gave me two fax numbers to send the plate cancellation to. I expressed my concern that this has been going on for months, with an ever changing requirment, and I need it to be done. My town does not need this document, so I have no faith that they will actually follow through.
I then called the Town of XXXX and spoke to the tax assessor. He mailed a form to HFS on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, and all is needed is for the form to be filled out and returned. No proof of plate cancellation is necessary. He indicated that HFS has not submitted the form.
I faxed HFS the documentation, then sumbitted this complaint.

Complaint: I feel no one is listening to me at Honda Financial. Yes, i did fall behind my payments. Honda FinanciaXXXX next move was to block my ability to make electronic payment. It must be closed to a decade since i stopped making payments by snail mail. There is a high fee that customer service charge when you try to make a telephone payment. During the month of XX/XX/XXXX my county ( XXXX county Florida ) was declared a federal disaster zone. The rep from Honda financial stated in a rude way that everyone in Florida is trying to use the Hurricane Irma disaster as an excuse not to pay their bill. Yes, the Hurricane caused me Hardship. It destroyed part of my house a large tree, and spent week without electricity. Also, i was unable to work. I want to resolve this problem. I want to pay my bill electronically on the honda Financial website. If i have to call to make a phone payment I dont want to pay a fee.

Complaint: Honda was well informed of my financial statues / short term XXXX appeals process. I was in contact with collection agent XXXX XXXX for the month of XX/XX/XXXX. The last time I received a call from Honda/ XXXX was dated XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX. Per our conversation, she was informed that I would be receiving a payment from my 401k to bring the account current within 5 days or less. I was advised to contact her as soon as the payment was received. Prior to that date, I spoken with XXXX weekly to keep her up to date. I also, requested a deferment, or extension of payments, my request was denied.
During the call dated XX/XX/XXXX, I requested for Honda to pay for the unlawful repossession by XXXX XXXX dated XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX. I explained that my car was parked on private property and that there was a breach of peace during repossession. I also advised of property damage from the vehicle being pulled out the stall. As stated to Honda, after my vehicle was repossessed they had 48 hours to inform me of the location. The loan was paid current XX/XX/XXXX after getting in touch with Honda Accounts Recovery Department.
I was informed XX/XX/XXXX where my vehicle was located. I requested for Honda to Pay for the repossession fees due to the arrangement setup with XXXX and I before the repossession. My request was denied.
I would like to point out my complaint in more details to the CFPB.
XX/XX/XXXX I went out on XXXX XXXX XXXX, I contacted Honda Financial to inform of XXXX and to request the following : Deferment of payment, payment date change, and or payment being pushed to the end of the loan cycle. My request was denied, I was advised that the loan was too new for any extensions.
XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Honda again to inform of financial hardship and to request an extension on loan amount. My request was denied.
XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Honda to inform of non-payment due to XXXX appeals process. I request for my account to be review by a manger for I had a loan with Honda a few years back that I paid off in full before the due date. I was advised that I would receive a letter in the mail once my account is reviewed. ( No letter was sent ) XX/XX/XXXX I received a notice of Default from XXXX XXXX, after receiving that letter I contacted Honda to again request an extension. ( My request was again denied. ) Later that month during a call with XXXX XXXX, I informed of intent to pay the loan current, and requested additional time. I requested a loan extension. At that point, my XX/XX/XXXX payment and current payment of XX/XX/XXXX was due. XXXX stated that he would have a manager take a look at my account and that I would be receiving something in the mail regarding my request.
XX/XX/XXXX I received the notice of denial request for extension.
XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from XXXX XXXX, she was informed of my current situation and I again requested for a deferment of payment, payment date change, and or payment being pushed to the end of the loan cycle. ( My request was denied. ) I was advised that the loan was too new for any extensions. XXXX stated that I needed to bring the account current before 90 days. She requested that I take out a loan from a friend or family member to pay the loan current. I explained to her that my family was preparing for hurricane season and that all monies were being sent to members who had dire needs. I advised that I would keep her updated with payment status.
XX/XX/XXXX I was in contact with XXXX. I explained to her that I may be able to cash out some of my 401k, but that I was awaiting the information from XXXX XXXX. I advised that I would call XXXX within a week to let her know when to expect payment.
XX/XX/XXXX, I received a call from XXXX, I informed of payment being process from my 401k. I provided expected date of payment, she stated to call her once payment is receive so that I could pay right away. I agreed to call her as soon as I received the check, the check was coming expedited with XXXX, and tracking number was declined.
XX/XX/XXXX XXXX sent me a notice that was mailed XX/XX/XXXX. I received this notice after the repossession. The notice sent stated that I ignored all previous request for payment and that Honda was requesting {$36000.00} due and payable. The notices states that if I didnt make arrangements immediately that action would be pursued including a lawsuit. ( Too bad that notice wasnt sent within enough time for me to respond too before the repossession. ) XX/XX/XXXX I sent a notice of response to XXXX XXXX attention informing of my dispute with Honda. I also informed of my open arbitration with XXXX XXXX XXXX. ( No response from XXXX XXXX or Honda has been received regarding my arbitration dispute. ) XX/XX/XXXX Honda sent a notice of Intent Reinstatement or Redemption. The notice was mailed XX/XX/XXXX, but wasnt received until well after the holiday.
The notice states that if I pay my car current that I can reinstate the loan, I was also informed of location of vehicle and fees. Honda stated that the following fees applied : Repossession Fees {$370.00} Storage fee as of date of the letter {$60.00} XX/XX/XXXX the loan was paid current.
XX/XX/XXXX I contacted XXXX to inform of payment and to request location of the vehicle per it hadnt been provided. I was informed by XXXX with the Recovery Department where the vehicle was located. I was provided a number to call.
XX/XX/XXXX I contacted XXXX XXXX to make an appointment for vehicle pickup. I was told that a release hadnt been sent over from Honda yet.
XX/XX/XXXX I contacted XXXX XXXX to make an appointment and I was again advised that no release was sent from Honda.
XX/XX/XXXX I make an appointment to pick up my vehicle, I was advised that I need to pay {$820.00}. Unable to pay the additional fees I couldnt recover the Vehicle. I was advised to contact Honda for any fee waivers.
XX/XX/XXXX I contacted the Honda Recovery Department to request a fee waiver. The fee waiver was denied.
To date the vehicle is still at the location of XXXX XXXX.

The credit trade line shows date of first delinquency as XXXX XXXX, but American Honda Finance cut off all payment history from XXXX XXXX through XXXX XXXX. The account falls within the XXXX rule timeline, and should be deleted immediately and permanently. Accordingly, I request a full reinvestigation by XXXX as the statement posted by American Honda Finance shows that I am 100 % right in the review of the Fair Credit Reporting Act rule pertaining to obsolete and outdated trade lines. PLEASE DELETE THIS TRADE LINE PERMANENTLY!!!
