Complaint: I bought a XXXX Honda fit on XX/XX/XXXX. my credit wasn't in good standing due to being unemployed, therefore someone co-signed my loan so that I could get the loan at a lower interest rate. We were very clear, and stated more than once that the co-signer ( who is no relation ) not be put on the title or registration, because he has a XXXX on his vehicle due to a previous XXXX that would be removed in XX/XX/XXXX. He didn't want to upset that. However, the dealership ( XXXX XXXX actually put him first on the title. I put down $ XXXX of my own money on the vehicle and I'm making the payments. It is totally my car. We didn't know Honda had done this until Mid XX/XX/XXXX when the DMV sent the co-signer a letter. The DMV said he had till XX/XX/XXXX to remove his name from the title. We have done everything they have asked us to do to change this. Which was to notify Honda Financial Services with a notorized letter, asking them to removed him from the title and registration. The XXXX said the HFS had not even submitted the paperwork at that time which was XX/XX/XXXX. We had to re-submit another letter on XX/XX/XXXX to HFS because they were not entirely happy with the wording on the first letters. At this point there was no way it would get changed before the deadline. The co-signer has called the DMV since and HFS still has not completed the title and registration change. During this time, the co-signer has had his license revoked, because his name is on the title and registration of my car. The Co-signer knows he can not drive vehichle without a XXXX, therefore we tried to make it very clear that the purchase of the car was mine entirely and not his, that I was the only driver. The co-signer was merely trying to help me. It is costing us money because I'm not sure if its legal for me to drive my own car because of the issue, so I have had to purchase a rental.
On Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX I called HFS again, and nothing has changed. The DMV told the co-signer that HFS was supposed to submit a electronic title. The rep we spoke with said she would call the DMV the next morning and see what she needed to do, but when the co-signer call again the next day, nothing had changed, so on the XX/XX/XXXX, I called HFS again, and no one knew anything about it, and proceeded to tell us what we needed to do to have the title and registration changed. I told the rep we had done all of those things and that we are waiting on them, I explained to her about my conversation with the other rep and that she would call the DMV that morning. She checked and said that rep was off that day. She said they didn't know of anything they should do on that end. So I contacted the DMV online that evening of XX/XX/XXXX and their response was that HFS ( Lien holder ) should be familiar with the electronic process and how everything needs to be submitted. We have made many phone calls to HFS, we have given everything they have asked for and we aren't getting any where. However, we are spending money trying to, and for a rental, and I now have to drive the co-signer because he isn't allowed to drive his own car since his license has been revoked due to the fact that the Honda Dealership ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NC ) was dishonest and unethical.
Nor did XXXX XXXX give me a copy of any of the transaction the day of the purchased the car.

The salesman stated that we could go ahead and get the paperwork filled out Incase I found a car that I wanted to purchase but that it would NOT be ran through my credit if I did not find a car that I liked and wanted to purchase. I did not end up finding a car through them or purchase a car through them but they ran my credit anyways without me saying they could.

Complaint: i wrote a goodwill letter to Honda financial in XX/XX/XXXX in regards to my old XX/XX/XXXX Honda account showing up on my credit report and needing to be removed. I spoke with a representative who advised me he would have my late payments removed from the account. Instead what he did was changed the days late and did not remove any payments. I then spoke with Honda again because my second lease was ending. I was told by that rep that if i stayed in the Honda family my oldest XX/XX/XXXX account would be removed. When i went to the new dealership they said Honda refused to remove the old account and actually wanted to charge me HIGHER for a new vehicle if i stayed with them. when i called again they transferred me to a different woman who said to write another letter and dispute it with the credit reporting agency.

Complaint: I purchased a vehicle from XXXX XXXX in XXXX VA. I had a XXXX XXXX XXXX which I leased from a XXXX Dealership in 2015. I went to XXXX XXXX to trade this vehicle in and purchase a new one. XXXX XXXX staff XXXX XXXX as well as XXXX, XXXX XXXX ( GM ) all made me believe that they would accept the XXXX as a trade in, asked me for my keys and kept the vehicle for almost 2 months. They advised me they would pay the XXXX vehicle off and add the charges/debt to the purchase of my new car loan. It wasnt until XXXX began harassing me for payments for the next 2 following months that I called XXXX XXXX and asked them for proof that they had paid the XXXX vehicle off. They then advised me that I needed to go to the dealership and pick up the XXXX ( without tags ) and take it myself to a XXXX Dealership and turn it in. About 2 days after I reached out to XXXX XXXX to ask if they had paid the vehicle off and they told me that they would only pay for the last 8 months that was left on my lease, but any mile overage along with any late fees, wear and tear usage charges would be my sole responsibility. Here I am now 2 months later due to my own investigation with a damaged credit for late payments since XXXX XXXX has not paid the XXXX off as well as a balance of over {$4000.00} for overage on miles, late fees, etc. I have asked to speak to management with the dealership but they never return my calls. I even reached out to XXXX XXXX in North Carolina via emails which I still have but they have not replied. I also reached out to a supervisor in the Corporate Offices who has also ignored my emails.

Complaint: Honda Financial Services is incorrectly reporting to my credit. They have report my car payments late 7 times. When I in fact was not late and I have the proof that I wasnt late. My payments are due on the XXXX of every month but 7 different times when I paid on the XXXX they marked my payments as late and reported it to the credit bureaus. I made them mail me copies of my payment history. These are the dates they marked late but I have proof I wasnt late. XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. I want these 7 payments credited to my account as made on time and I want the adjustment made with the credit bureaus. I also want the fees associated with these late payment removed because I wasnt late.

Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Complaint: This problem began when I paid off my car loan and needed to receive my title in an expedited manner.
There are too many problems to address in one complaint about the difficulties I have faced with multiple Honda Financial Services agents to list it all out in this complaint.
It can be summed up with the fact that over the course of more than a week, Honda Financial Services has led me to believe I could receive the title by a specific date with certainty going as far as instructing me to set up a XXXX account to receive the title in time. However, in each instance of their instruction, the agents turned out to be wrong and I am only given repeated excuses by agents and their manager.
I have XXXX from the XXXX XXXX XXXX to depart for an XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, almost 3 weeks after having begun this process to get my title. Honda Financial Services ' failure to properly handle my request has made it so that I may not be able to sell my car prior to my departure date. I have no idea where my title is and I needed the title this week. The XXXX DMV ( whom Honda Financial Services mistakenly told me could help once I had a lien ) made it clear there was nothing they could do, that Honda had given me false information, and that my only option is to wait it out for Honda Financial Services.
I have had to spend numerous hours already on the phone over 7 days trying to get this issue resolved. These are hours lost of productivity in my job and time that I should have been using to prepare for my upcoming assignment.

Complaint: I bought a new car from XXXX XXXX in XXXX Kentucky on the date of XX/XX/XXXX. It is XX/XX/XXXX and as I was reviewing my statements, I found out the interest charged for the first payment was out of line with other months so I went on to create amortization schedule and verify if I was paying the correct interest and principal.
I used the unpaid principal balance, numbers of period, and the interest rate on the installment sales contract to calculate the monthly payment that I should pay, as it turned out, I've been paying a higher amount than I should. Although the difference in payment is immaterial for the amortization term, I would still like to notify the company of this error and get it corrected.
I called Honda Financial Services and explained the situation but they said I would have to talk to the dealer about it. Then I called XXXX XXXX and talked to a guy about the issue at the finance department. He looked into the issue and he told me the difference in the payment on my bill and the payment I calculated came from the extra days of accrued interest that added to the unpaid principal balance before I made the first installment. I was confused and it doesn't seem like he was really trying to help as he kept telling me I need to talk to XXXX XXXX as this is an interest rate question. I thought the conversation was going nowhere and I ended the talk.
So my loan amount is {$19000.00}, amortize for 72 months at 1.9 %. I calculated the monthly payment amount to be {$280.00}, however I am paying {$280.00}. To back out the present value of the unpaid principal using {$280.00}, I get {$19000.00}, a {$15.00} difference in unpaid principal balance, I don't know where it came from and the dealership doesn't have an answer for me.

My salesman told me I am getting 1.9 % financing as advertise by XXXX XXXX and when I sign the document I did not check to see if I am getting 1.9 % or not I just sign the documents trusting my sales man which was my mistake and I sign loan for 5.45 % instead of 1.9 % this was deliberate act on dealership part by not informing what I am signing also I have excellent credit score of 840+ and if I don't get 1.9 % who will? I believe Honda financial services license should be canceled for unfair practice in lending.i believe Honda financial services is involved in steering by charging higher interest rate for certain type or group of people.

Complaint: I received a late payment alert on XX/XX/, I called Honda and they acknowledged that I did receive my payments and needed to turn my vehicle in. I explained I had already returned my vehicle and gave them dealer information. They still reported a 30 day late, I disputed with the credit bureaus and was able to remove the late from 1 of them. But 2 bureaus was not removed. I sent a letter on XX/XX/XXXX, they sent me paperwork showing my payments which were not late but still reporting a 30 day late.

Problem with paying off the loan
Complaint: I was in a car accident on XX/XX/XXXX and that totaled my car. My insurance company sent the bulk of the payoff of the loan, {$19000.00} to be exact and that was posted on XX/XX/XXXX, reversed and then reposted on XX/XX/XXXX. Since that date, Honda Financial has still reported my loan as late and owing 46+ payments. Then on XX/XX/XXXX another {$1200.00} was posted towards the payoff from the Warranty Refund applied to the car, and still, Honda Financial is report this loan late. the last item needed to payoff my car was for the GAP Claim to be paid. I checked on my account almost daily to see when this would be paid off. The payoff on my account the beginning of the week for XX/XX/XXXX stated my payoff was about {$2500.00}, the GAP claim paid {$2400.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX, my account still states 43 payments remaining and past due. I have called several times into their customer service center. The initial person I get is just part of like a Customer Service Center they have stated on 2 separate occasions. The 1st incident where I asked to escalate and speak to a supervisor, I was told that they don't have direct phone numbers that they could give out and that I would just have to leave a message and they would escalate and have them call me. I never received a return call. Again I called on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX est and this time got a lady named XXXX who told me the same thing, but this time transferred me to the voicemail of someone named XXXX and I have still not received a call back. They have had an automated number call my cell numerous times stating my account is past due, but whenever I call back to speak with a live person, there doesn't seem to be anyone that will return my call. The payments that were received on this loan from my insurance companies have been mishandled and misapplied and I have tried for almost 3 months now with Honda to get this corrected. I have also disputed this with the credit bureau as well.

Problem extending the lease
Complaint: This not NOT A DUPLICATE COMPLAINT - I am now blocked from extending my lease as a result of these incorrect charges.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I initiated a lease with XXXX XXXX XXXX for a XXXX XXXX XXXX. As part of the acquisition process I paid the NY sales tax for the portion of the purchase price I would be capitalizing. In XX/XX/XXXX I relocated to XXXX DC. In conjunction with registering the car in DC I had to request a change in the title to reflect the new address. When Honda processed the title change, they began to collect a 10 % use fee in DC. The fee is appropriately collected for leases of vehicles delivered to DC residents for the first time, but is waived for individuals who have paid sales tax in another jurisdiction. To repeat, the only change to the title in DC was to reflect our new address, in DC. HFAC has taken this 10 % each month from my payments, which has renedered my account past due. I have spoken with both the DC XXXX and the DC Dept. of Taxation and Finance and this tax does n't apply when tax was paid at delivery in another jurisdiction. At their suggestion I have provided HFA with the following information from the District : FR-800M Sales and Use Tax Monthly Return Booklet : Imposition of use tax : A use tax is imposed on the use, storage, or consumption of taxable tangible personal property and services in the District, unless the purchaser has paid a sales tax on the purchase of the taxable tangible personal property or service to the District, or another tax jurisdiction in the United States ( US ) or to a US territory. A retailer that did not resell goods purchased under a resale certificate is liable for use tax for those goods used as complimentary gifts. For additional information see DC Code XXXX XXXX XXXX. The transaction was exclusively an address change to the title related to an existing lease. I did not purchase the vehicle at this time, nor was there a lease origination. In response to providing this information, AHFC insisted I wasnt being charged Use tax ( their initial contention ), but sales tax. This is further infuriating as if this was the case sales tax in DC is 5.75 %. So misapplying the Use Tax law is being justified by misapplication of the Sales Tax law. From the same booklet, XXXX cited the following : Imposition of sales tax A person engaging in business in the District must collect sales tax from the purchaser on : 1. Sales of tangible personal property delivered to a customer in the District ; 2. Services listed in DC Official Code XXXX ( n ) ( 1 ) ; 3. Renting or leasing tangible personal property used in the District ; 4. Charges for rooms, lodging or accommodations located in the District that are furnished to transients ; 5. Admissions to certain public events in the District ; and 6. Charges for parking, storing or keeping motor vehicles or trailers in the District. To reiterate, there was no sale made in XX/XX/XXXXwhen these charges started : no property was delivered by XXXX to a customer in the District. I have spent far too much time with front line clerks who are simply executing company policy : the problem here is a flaw in the policy. What I believe happened : whenever a DC address appears in a lease record the 10 % tax is automatically invoked. This is appropriate for new leases but not when a DC address is added to an existing lease record.
It should be noted that a representative from AHF did call the Dept. of Tax and Finance but did not specify that this case involved a leased vehicle taxed in another jurisdiction and registered mid-lease in the District. I believe his question was simply is there a tax on cars leased in DC, which does n't relate to this situation.
I am reaching out to the District of Columbia for further information. It appears I will be forced to pay these fees collected in error to extend my lease. This is extortion.
If I pay these fees in order to extend the lease I am doing so only because I have no choice and in no way agree they are valid. In parallel I will also be raising this issue with the California Attorney General.

Problem with personal statement of dispute
Complaint: Hello - Two years ago I went through a divorce. As part of the divorce settlement my ex-wife was given one of our cars that we had a loan on. It was a joint account through Honda Financial Services. I asked my ex-wife to remove me from the account though she never did. She changed the mailing address for the account and login information online, so I was unable to access the account. The loan was nearly paid off, so I did n't worry about it too much. In XXXX of this year I got a notification from my credit monitoring service that the account was over 30 days past due. I contacted my ex-wife and she said it was due to a change in her billing account and fixed the issue and paid off the outstanding balance.
Still as a result of this I now have a 30 day late payment notice on my credit report. My credit score took a hit as well, dropping from XXXX to XXXX.
Recently, I contacted Honda Financial to explain the situation and inquire about having the negative mark removed from my credit report. Since I no longer had access to the account online and my ex-wife updated the mailing address to her new address. I received no notice of a past due balance. Honda said they were sympathetic but unwilling to remove the mark.
