Billing problem
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX in XXXX, New York for the retail price of {$20000.00}. Upon the initial purchase, I placed a {$1000.00} deposit and signed a financing agreement for sixty months at the cost of {$310.00} per month to the accumulated amount of {$18000.00}. I preceded to sign-up with Hondas autopay program shortly after receiving the vehicle using my XXXX XXXX savings account and prior to the first pay date. Payments of {$310.00} were made each month, in full, without incident, with the final payment posted on XX/XX/XXXX.
On XX/XX/XXXX I received a notice in the mail from Honda Financial Services regarding a late payment of {$1000.00}. The notice did not specify the date of the alleged late payment. After contacting Honda Financial Services on XX/XX/XXXX, I was told that my first payment dating back to XXXX of XXXX was not posted until XXXX of XXXX. The representative said that in this five-year time frame I was contacted both by phone and through email about the late payment of {$310.00} from XX/XX/XXXX, which has since compiled interest, bringing the total amount to {$1000.00}.
After retrieving the last email Honda Financial Services sent to me which was XX/XX/XXXX the contents of the email did not specify a late payment. Since that email, I have received two separate emails from XXXX XXXX one from XX/XX/XXXX and another from XX/XX/XXXX regarding their upgrade program, stating that they examined my account and I was eligible for an upgrade. I also received an upgrade notice, by mail, from XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX with the notice saying my account status is Paid Off. The phone calls I did receive from Honda Financial Services were generic, automated messages that did not specify a late or overdue payment. To the best of my knowledge I did not receive a phone call from an Agent until XX/XX/XXXX.
I have since had XXXX XXXX pull up my savings account statements from XXXX of XXXX through XXXX of XXXX, and after reviewing noticed Honda Financial Services did not start withdrawing payments until XX/XX/XXXX. After reviewing my credit report - through XXXX The missing payment from XXXX of XXXX was not posted late until XXXX of XXXX, and Honda Financial Services did not report the late claim to XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX. On further review, all automated, monthly payments from Honda Financial Services show C for current until XXXX of XXXX, with XX/XX/XXXX showing NR for not reported, then C for XXXX of XXXX. This is confusing because XXXX XXXX, Honda Financial Services and XXXX show the XX/XX/XXXX amount being posted on time.
My credit score has been dipping since XXXX of XXXX and I am at risk of repossession of my vehicle. I wanted to know what I should do to fight this late claim since Honda Financial Services did not adequately inform me about the missing payment.

Billing problem
Complaint: New Car was purchased with Fixed Rate at 1.90 % with financed amount of XXXX and a monthly payment amount of XXXX.
Since origination, payments have not been applied appropriately per correct amortization. I want to understand what is happening.
First payment XX/XX/XXXX, balance is XXXX.
Interest should be 22.03 ( XXXX XXXX 1.9 % /12 ) Instead it was applied at 26.80.
These variances are consistent in payment application.
Please See Below for most recent example.
Logically, unless a balance is increasing ( which is not the case ) a fixed rate loan with both Principal and Interest should have gradual decreases to the amount of interest applied per payment over the life of the loan. However, the XX/XX/XXXX payment was applied against a balance of XXXX but 41.11 in interest was charged.
This loan has never been delinquent.

Complaint: Hi. I primarily work in the zone where Hurricane Michael hit. I had an interuption in income for a few months as I am 100 % commission in Real Estate/Mortgage sales.
Getting back on my feet but asked for the 3 month Hurricane Relief.
My other car loan with XXXX XXXX granted me relief ; but Honda Financial after multiple attempts not only did not grant ; but then marked my account 30 days late.
After multiple complaints to management with many sales folks ; they finally agreed to modify 1 month and continued to mark me 1 month late.
# 1 : I would like the 30 day late removed as they modified me one month for the Hurricane Relief.
# 2 : I would like them to reconsider the 3 month abatement.
# 3 : Remove late fees Again, my mortgage company and other car loan readily helped ; however, Honda Financial maybe helped a little ; but also penalized my credit report with the late.
Thank you.

Problem with fees charged
Complaint: We leased a new vehicle from XXXX XXXX XXXX through american honda finance on XX/XX/XXXX. We turned back in our previous XXXX XXXX for a new one. The dealer advised that the excess mileage fee would be waived if we leased another vehicle. I looked at the account on line and saw a charge in the amount of {$440.00} which was comprised of {$410.00} for excess miles and an additional {$29.00} for the taxes on that mileage fee. We called XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX to discuss and they advised it was due and would not be waived. We advised we have purchased many vehicles through them and also that the dealer advised it would be waived based upon our new lease. We were placed on hold then advised by the rep that we did qualify for a waiver of half the fee due to our new purchase. If so why were we billed for the full amount? I would like the balance of the fee to be waived based upon what we were advised by the dealer as well as our continued relationship with purchasing through XXXX.

Problem while selling or giving up the vehicle
Complaint: The problem : In XX/XX/2018, we returned a car that we had leased. The leasing company is billing us for the property tax on the car for the entire 2018 year. When asked why not just bill us for the 4 months i.e., XXXX, and not for the whole year, the response was that the state had billed the company for the full year ( probably in XX/XX/2018 ) and so this was the company policy. The leasing company states that they have applied to the State for a refund ( after we questioned the bill ) but that we have to pay in any case and they will send us the credit when it arrives. The Leasing Company : XXXX XXXX XXXX The State : Virginia The amount : {$380.00}

Frequent or repeated calls
Complaint: I have an auto payment with Honda Financial Services. I am not late. I have never been late. I have a 15 day window to make a payment after the due date and utilize this occasionally. I always pay before the 15 day window. I scheduled a payment with a representative for my XX/XX/XXXX payment to be paid ( withdrawn from my bank acct ) on XX/XX/XXXX which is within my window. I have received XXXX calls since XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX phone calls just today. It is harassing and I've asked HFS to stop this. I can not sit on hold upwards of 20 minutes over and over again. I am thoroughly disgusted. I would appreciate any assistance with putting an end to this constant unwarranted harassment. All they have to do is check and will see my payment is scheduled. This is every month for 2 years. I can provide a copy of my credit report as proof I've never once been late paying this account.
Thank you.

Complaint: When I first leased my vehicle in XX/XX/2017, I made the first month 's payment as part of my initial lease payment which covered the first payment cycle. I was surprised to see that subsequent payment for XX/XX/2017 was marked as a missed payment on my credit report.I thought that this was extremely unfair and confusing, the sales person at my showroom did not specify when my next payment was due further I did not receive a date as to when I was supposed to make that first payment by mail or online until very late in the payment cycle. I would like Honda Financial to remove that missed payment on my credit report, I feel that this is in violation of the FCRA. This is having extremely adverse effect on my credit score.

Complaint: We took out a lease on a 2018 XXXX XXXX. The leasing company was extremely slow in providing us with any invoice or bill which contributed to the confusion. We purchased the vehicle inXX/XX/2018. A payment for the vehicle was made at the time of purchase. A subsequent payment was made in XXXX for the amount due. Another payment was to be made in XX/XX/2018 in which we were late. This payment was made on XX/XX/2018 as per the attached confirmation. This was several days before it would have been 30 days late ( XXXX ). In the leasing companies over zealous handling of this matter they now show us late on our credit reports. This was explained to them by phone, but their representative either did not understand it or did not care. We are attempting to avoid litigation but our patience is running out. We have attached the confirmation sent to my wife 's email.

Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finish
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I traded in my leased XXXX XXXX XXXX for a XXXX XXXX XXXX. Honda of XXXX XXXX agreed to pay off the XX/XX/XXXX lease, waive the lease termination fee because I was leasing another vehicle, and that any wear and tear was within the {$500.00} damage waiver. In approximately XX/XX/XXXX, I began receiving telephone calls from XXXX XXXX XXXX at home and at my place of business, purportedly relating to amounts owing on the XX/XX/XXXX lease. I was provided no documentation of any such purported debt and the burden was placed on me to obtain information of the amounts Honda was seeking to collect. I contacted Honda Financial Services, who placed the burden on me to document that I relinquished the XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX in connection with leasing a new vehicle. I provided all documentation in my possession regarding the transaction, which shows that I traded in the XXXX XXXX for a new vehicle on XX/XX/XXXX. Nothwithstanding, Honda Financial Services demanded that I obtain the Vehicle Return Receipt from Honda of XXXX XXXX, which provided a document falsely stating that the vehicle was returned on XX/XX/XXXX and identifying the " dealer '' as XXXX XXXX XXXX, an entity I have never dealt with or even heard of. Honda Financial Services refuses to accept my documentation, refuses my requests to document " excess wear and tear '' above the {$500.00} waiver, and in the meantime, I continue to be bombarded by phone calls from XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Complaint: Due to my own error, my vehicle was repossessed by Honda Financial Services ( HFS ) on Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX. On Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX I asked for and received a Lease Payoff Inquiry letter from the company. This was required by my bank to secure a loan to payoff HFS and retrieve my vehicle. There was a specific address on the letter to overnight a Certified Check. A representative at HFS told me to send the check to a different address but they could not give me this address in writing. My bank refused to send to an address on a sticky note and would only send to the address on the official letter. The check was overnighted via XXXX XXXX on Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX with a tracking number provided to HFS that day. When I called on Thursday, XX/XX/XXXX to check on the status of my overnighted check, I was told that because it was sent to the incorrect address, the check could not be found, and this was not HFS ' fault, it was my banks fault. I made several calls to HFS that day and provided them with proof that the check was delivered to HFS and a copy of the check was faxed by my bank to an agent at HFS. I was finally told that a supervisor would return a call to me within 24-48 hours. After many probing questions, was told that the call would be returned within 24-48 business hours. As of Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX EST I have not received a return call from a supervisor. On Friday, XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX EST, I received a call from an agent at HFS who told me my check had been found but because my bank made an error by sending it to the address on the official letter and not on my handwritten sticky note, the check could not be processed until Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX at the earliest and was told to not call back until after XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. During this entire process I made several calls to the creditor service who was in possession of my vehicle asking questions and asking that my vehicle not be shipped for auction. They told me to have HFS contact them with frequent updates, so this didn't happen. I asked many of the agents at HFS to please contact the creditor and let them know that I had sent funds to pay off the loan and repeatedly asked what the storage fees would be. I also asked that the storage fees be waived from Thursday XX/XX/XXXX when I can show proof that Fed Ex delivered my check and it was received by HFS. HFS agents told me it was up to the creditor to determine the storage fees. I called the creditor and had told me it was up to HFS to determine those fees. As of today, Wednesday XX/XX/XXXX, I do not have an answer from anyone. I called HFS on Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX EST as instructed and was told that my funds were received, and the vehicle would be released to me. I was directed by XXXX to call the creditor and get my vehicle, still no answer to my question about storage fees or waiving fees from XX/XX/XXXX forward. I put in a second request on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX EST for a supervisor to contact me and was told I would receive a call within 24-28 hours. I called the creditor on Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX EST and was told that my vehicle had been shipped away for auction, HFS had not contacted them until 10 minutes prior to me calling them, and I needed to call HFS to get my vehicle returned. I called HFS at XXXX EST on XX/XX/XXXX and explained the situation. I was told they had no idea what happened, it wasn't HFS ' fault, and they would call me back within 45 minutes. I called HFS back at XXXX EST when I had not received a call back within 45 minutes and was told it was the creditors fault that this happened, but they would get my vehicle delivered back to my location. When asked for a timeframe ( a day, a week, a month ) I was told they didn't know and there was nothing more they could do for me. I requested a call back and it was agreed that HFS would call me back with an update. When pressed for a callback timeframe ( a day, a week, a month ), I was told they didn't know and I should just wait. I pressed for a more exact time that I would receive a call back and was told " 15 minutes '', and as of XXXX EST on XX/XX/XXXX, had not received a return call. I called HFS on Wednesday XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX EST and spent XXXX minutes on hold before being transferred to a voice mail with no description of whom I was leaving a voicemail for. I called back to XXXX and was transferred to the correct department. I was told they were monitoring the situation. There was still no timeframe, no offer of assistance, and no resolution to my request for waiver of storage fees or even an estimate of what the storage fees are XXXX {$1.00}, {$100.00}, {$1000.00} XXXX. After pressing the issue, I was promised a return call today, XX/XX/XXXX, updating me on the progress of returning my vehicle but was told not to call back, someone at HFS will contact me. Through this entire process, I have been repeatedly told not to call back ( they will contact me ), it's not the fault of HFS that any of these events have occurred, and they have no solutions for me. HFS has my money, {$17000.00}, and my vehicle.

Complaint: XX/XX/2018 I was involved in a rollover accident as the driver. The vehicle was registered to my husband and I had co-signed on this car loan. We both are seniors and XXXX persons. XXXX is a XXXX yr. old XXXX veteran ( husband ). There was loss of property and I was the only person involved hurt. The insurance company ( XXXX ) spoke with XXXX about this claim. He was informed that the vehicle was totaled and would be paid off. Even though Honda Finance was contacted XX/XX/18 by XXXX and provided payoff information ; we both have been reported late to credit agencies. There was never a late payment on this account before this accident. However, a Honda Financial supervisor later told me there was a legal obligation to report this vehicle payment as late. Despite admitting knowledge that the insurance was paying the debt off, the severity of this accident and impeccable credit history. During this period I was involved with a mortgage lender and was informed by them of this late payment on my report. I have yet to receive anything from the lender ( Honda ) regarding reporting this matter. I did receive a letter dated XX/XX/18 stating the vehicle was paid off. The fair reporting should reflect our true history, not errors of insurance companies or misinformation provided by these company 's. It appears extremely subjective when my lender informs me, he has seen this type of payoff debt removed for other clients.
