Complaint: XX/XX/2019 my card was declined at local store. I tried to log into App several times on my phone but it said error wrong password. I then called number on back of card. I made 40 calls, they hung up on me saying call back with correct security information. One rep mentioned my account was froze due to my failed attempts to login to app. XX/XX/2019 i made multiple calls again. They claimed to have difficulty verifying my identity. I explained I had not made any changes to my account since I opened several years past. Finally a rep was able to verify my ID by calling me while i was on hold with her, i answered the call waiting, proving my ID. She assured me my account was frozen and a card was being sent to me. Instructed me to activate upon arrival and then I could access account. I declined the {$20.00} rush shipping charge, regretfully, waited the expected 10 days. But no card came. XX/XX/2019 I called and they said account was at {$0.00} balance and closed, said I had to write a letter explaining problem and gave me a address in XXXX, GA to mail it to. XX/XX/2019 I mailed a notarized letter. I tracked it, they received letter XX/XX/2019. I have not had any response or access to my account yet. XX/XX/2019 called still no resolve. XX/XX/2019 still no response. XX/XX/2019 I filed a FTC ID theft report. I mailed it with notice of Unauthorized Use of Debit card on XX/XX/2019 I included copies of previous letter, prior shipping receipt, copy from notary, copy of my CA ID and bank card to prove i have in my possession. No response still. I had over {$7000.00} in account when i last was able to accessed XX/XX/2019. My payroll and tax return have been direct deposited for years. I have been waking with a headache for weeks. Please help. As if the hardship isn't enough. I spoke with XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX.

Complaint: I have tried to dispute 3 accounts on my credit report for fraudulent activity and my dispute has been denied even though I have submitted a police report to the during the dispute stating that my credit cards were stolen and charged before I could cancel them. It is for American Express and XXXX XXXX. The third one was for a loan taken out in my name that was also fraudulent.

Complaint: American Express is incorrectly reporting a business account on my personal credit. The account reporting in question has numerous inaccuracies including the payment history, charge off date and current balance. I have informed them of the error and requested the business account in question be deleted from my reports or that the entire account history be reported not just selected time frame of negative information.

Complaint: On my credit report, it shows that I owe Amex around {$2000.00} that I paid off over 2 weeks ago. This balance is skyrocketing my credit card utilization and impacting my score heavily. I am XXXX years old and last month was my first month in 2 years that I made a late payment due to my wifi being down for a week. Now my utilization is down to 97 %. This is HEAVILY affecting my credit score and diminished my chances of getting a house for my family.
I have paid off the balance and have 2 very good cards with Amex and need them to pardon the late payment from last month since that will never happen again and they are ruining my score. My credit score used to be 700+ and this one error has brought me down to the 500s. Please fix this issue asap.

Complaint: I reviewed my personal credit report ( s ) online in XX/XX/XXXX and saw where AMEX reported to credit bureaus XXXX and XXXX that I owed them {$13000.00}. I then spoke to AMEX on the phone to clear the matter up to no avail. I gave them my name, social security number, and the partial account number listed on credit reports and was told that there was no error. I reiterated to them that the amount owed was not my debt and that they should close the account and remove this delinquent status from my credit report.
Since speaking with AMEX, I continued to monitor my credit report ( s ) and then decided to put my dispute with them in writing via certified mail on XX/XX/XXXX. During this time the amount owed grew to {$14000.00}. I requested validation, that was competent evidence bearing my signature, showing that I have ( or ever had ) some contractual obligation to pay them. I further requested that if they could not validate the debt, they must have all credit reporting agencies delete the entry.
AMEX responded on XX/XX/XXXX where they listed the account identifier ( account number ) as XXXX and stated that my return address does not match the address in their records and that they needed additional information to respond to my request.
After reviewing my credit report ( s ) for XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed a comment under the AMEX entry that stated, Account closed at consumer 's request and dispute investigation completed ; consumer disagrees. I wrote to AMEX again on XX/XX/XXXX asking for evidence as well as the name, address, and telephone number of each person who personally verified the alleged account so I could inquire about the process since they failed to present any proof bearing my signature.
I received no response to date, and they have since reported that I owe {$14000.00}. The Payment History for this account starts at the month of XX/XX/XXXX and is marked C for collection. No other payment history is listed before XX/XX/XXXX although the report states that the account was opened in XX/XX/XXXX and the highest balance at one point was {$26000.00}. Prior to XX/XX/XXXX, AMEX was never listed as an account on any of my credit reports. I am now suffering hardship in obtaining credit due to negative credit reporting and a significant decrease in my FICO scores. I have sent dispute letters to XXXX and XXXX as well on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX to no avail.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I was the victim of theft. Among other things that were taken from my car, were my wallet/ phone case that contained my American Express Serve card. The aforementioned incident occurred around XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/2019 after the aforementioned incident occurred American Express Serve was contacted about the theft of said cards. (In fact numerous calls were made to American Express Serve, due to the fact that they automatic answering services would not allow me to be conected without knowing my card number (ie the one that was stolen. A live rep was eventually reached and the card was reported stolen. Subsequent charges occurred on XX/XX/2019 and thereafter on the card that was reported stolen on XX/XX/2019. American Express is liable for any fraudulent charges that are incurred on the card after it is reported stolen. This is according to Reg. E and their own membership agreement clause 14. American Express Serve asked me to submit "disputes" for said charge for which they eventually denied twice

Complaint: Reward dollars were not issued correctly for multiple months. Contacted American Express in XX/XX/XXXX to resolve and they began looking into the issue. Have been told various conflicting items, including no error was found, to a check was issued in XX/XX/XXXX, and even a letter in XX/XX/XXXX stating an error was found and a statement credit would be issued. No one seems to have any clue what's going on and multiple " investigations '' have been opened with no resolution.

Complaint: It seems America Express only approves me for cards with high annual fees. On XX/XX/2018 American Express Approved me for a Gold Card with a {$250.00} annual fee. I have the same exact credit with the same report. And when I tried to apply for an American Express Card with NO annual fees they decline me. Even though American Express approves me for a card on XX/XX/2018. My credit is even much better today than it was on XX/XX/2018. American Express is a fraud. And they are just trying to get me to pay for their annual fee. Even though they short me out of membership points.

Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX send the attached letter trying to collect monies that i don't owe, I have agreed on paying {$260.00} over 12 months until XX/XX/2019, also, American Express was doing automatic withdrawal from my account, thye have decided to turn it ove rot collection agency, the glowing re the facts : 1- agreed with AMEX on {$260.00} over 12 months 2- after 12 months they will show it is agreed upon payments on my credit report 3- I authorized American express to withdrawal monies form my bank account and they established this.
4- after 10 payments they send the same account collections agency.
it is illegal and fraud.

Can't use card to make purchases
Complaint: We've been American Express Gold Card Members for over 5 years now with no delinquencies whatsoever. We never had an issue using our card until 3 years ago, when one month we failed to make a payment on the due date and paid the following day to bring it current and since then American Express penalized us with a pre-set limit of about ~ {$1500.00}.
American Express sees we spend much more than that and all of the payments are made on time with no issues

Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Complaint: On or around XX/XX/XXXX I applied and was approved for the American Express Platinum Card. The card normally carries a {$550.00} annual fee, for which I had it waived as I'm an XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX of the major benefits of the AMEX Platinum Card that was advertised was its monthly XXXX credit, for which it stated it would provide a {$15.00} credit each month and {$20.00} in XXXX. I was excited to begin utilizing the benefit as part of the AMEX Platinum Card 's various offerings.
Most credit card rewards and credits work by using the card to pay and then afterwards it being reimbursed as a credit on the card statement - in fact every card I've ever had has worked in that way. However it wasn't until approximately XX/XX/XXXX that I noticed that I had been charged, without a statement credit or reimbursement, on my AMEX XXXX XXXX each month for the XXXX rides I had since taken with it.
Upon research, I found that the AMEX Platinum Card 's terms were - in extraordinarily unclear and deceptive fashion - stating that the complex procedure for using the {$15.00} XXXX credit was to choose the XXXX cash as the option when booking a ride, rather than standard credit card practice of reimbursing for payment at the end of a statement cycle like how the American Express Blue Card even did.
In total I had been essentially tricked for months into thinking that I had been utilizing the AMEX Platinum 's monthly XXXX " credit '' when in fact I hadn't been. It encouraged me to use the card even though it wasn't giving me the reimbursement it had represented it would be giving to me for those XXXX rides - meaning over the course of those 7 months or so I lost approximately {$100.00} in XXXX credit reimbursement that I otherwise should have received.
As a card that normally charges an extraordinarily {$550.00} annual fee, this is a deceptive and abusive marketing tactic/ploy that equals the egregiousness of said fee. In trying to resolve this with American Express there was no easy option to contact the company, implying that the company makes it difficult for customers to try to resolve abusive practices that the company has inflicted upon their own customers.
