Complaint: In XX/XX/2019 I was tricked by XXXX XXXX University to pay for an information webinar and a trial week for {$7.00}, that is when I gave that company my credit card information. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX University Charged my account {$140.00}, I complained about the unauthorized charge and the merchant refunded my account. On XX/XX/XXXX without my authorization, XXXX XXXX University Charged my account again with {$1600.00} and then again on XX/XX/XXXX {$140.00}. I called again the merchant and they said that they could refund the {$140.00} charge but they needed authorization from someone who was not in the office at the moment to refund the {$1600.00} I went on vacations with my family and then I forgot to follow up. On XX/XX/XXXX the merchant refunded the {$140.00} but the following day they charged my account again with another {$160000.00} It was then that I called American Express and told the American Express representative that I didn't authorize my account to be charged by that company. The American Express Representative said that she would put a block on my account for that Merchant and will open a dispute for the charges. American Express didn't block my account from as they had told me they would and again on XX/XX/XXXX my account was charged a third time with {$1600.00} Then I called American Express and the representative on the phone said that probably the previous representative didn't block the merchant correctly and this time the representative issued a new card number to make sure that didnt happen again. The previous representative should have done that on the first place. I explained the American Express representative that she can see a that this company was charging my account and that I have been disputing the charges from the very beginning. She acknowledged that. XXXX XXXX University was trying to sign me up several times on a program, taking me into their materials and online rooms. All the sudden American Express sent me a contract that they say that XXXX XXXX University sent them saying that I Electronically signed, which I NEVER DID, I never signed anything with that company. American Express fail to block my account when I told them. American Express told me that they will investigate. After a few days American Express said that it was my fault because I gave the merchant my credit card information in the first place. I know I gave the merchant my credit card information, but ONLY for the {$7.00} dollars, the only amount that I authorized. I also explained American Express that they need to pay attention to the small charges, they were refunded because I was fighting them with the merchant before I contacted the credit card company ( when you are going to call the credit card for a complaint there is a recorded message that tells you to contact the merchant first and that is what I did ). I also explained American Express that if they note on the so-called contract that the merchant was providing that I never signed, the date on the contract is XX/XX/XXXX the date I called to make the complaint to the merchant for the {$1600.00} charge from the day prior and told American Express to note that, right after I had complained from the charge with the merchant, American Express fails to listen to all the facts that I have given them because they make money on the more I owe on the card. XXXX XXXX University constantly insisted for me to take their courses, I never did, I went to the XXXX, they showed me the material they offered and I saw no value on them and I would have NEVER agreed to spend my hard-earned dollars on something so worthless. Ive given all the facts to American Express ; I had been disputing all but the {$7.00} charge since the very beginning. I never signed a contract with XXXX XXXX University, the document that they are providing does not contain my original signature, the document that they provide comes right after my dispute of charges, American Express says that that is my agreement, how come the charge was prior the date on the contract. They are ignoring the facts and siding with the merchant against me. I have been fighting this for months and today I got tired of arguing with American Express and decided to seek help believing that justice can still be served. I realized today that American Express was only allowing time go pass by probably so I would get tired of fighting for my rights or probably because they wanted time to pass by so I could not file a complaint.

Problem with fees
Complaint: I applied for the XXXX XXXX American Express card on XX/XX/XXXX and was granted the card. I paid the {$120.00} " Annual Fee '' up front. I canceled the card today and was told I might not be able to get my unused portion of the annual fee ( which in this case would be about {$83.00}, 8 months unused out of 12 months paid in advance ). I explained to the clerk I was speaking with that this is illegal, that an unused portion of the annual fee must be refunded to me. In response the first clerk said " you are breaking up, ma'am. I can not understand you. '' I was left on hold for so long that I called back and spoke to a man, who said the same thing ( " You're breaking up, I can't hear you, hello? " ). But not before he took about 10 minutes to look up for me their correct mailing address for written correspondence ( it's not online ; I've been looking for days ; it just says, " Call us! '' and a phone number ; perhaps because their company does not want any letters to be able to be sent by consumers like me, to protect my rights under the 1994 Fair Credit and Reporting Act. Complaint: My American Express credit card statement for XX/XX/2019 included a charge of {$2700.00} from XXXX XXXX for a flight I did not book or take. I reported this to American Express and they set up a fraud claim, credited my account and replaced my credit card. That should have been the end of it, but I recently have received a letter from American Express saying that they are reversing this determination because " According to documented company records, you provided your account number to a Service Establishment '' and " By doing so, you are giving them permission to charge your account. '' The letter stated " If you wish to pursue this matter further, you should contact the merchant directly '' which of course I have done. The American Express response means that if there is a fraud involving any merchant with whom I have done business using my credit card, I have no protection. This seems crazy. I have talked to the XXXX XXXX fraud office but have received nothing in writing from them.

Complaint: My business checking account was debited by American Express for purchases I did not make on my Amex Plum Business Card in 2018. I have called Amex many times and submitted documentation but the issue is still unresolved. American Express continues to ask for sensitive bank documents which they know my bank will not provide in order to avoid reimbursing me.

Complaint: Three to four weeks ago American Express sent the credit bureaus an " update '' on an old account that had been closed for years. The update attempted to re-age my credit and stated that the date of delinquency was XX/XX/XXXX although that was more than two years from the correct date. They then sent the credit agencies notice that it had been charged of on XX/XX/XXXX although I was never contacted and it had never appeared on my credit report before XX/XX/XXXX. I contacted XXXX and got the date of delinquency changed but they then added a charge off on XX/XX/XXXX. They have now reported me as having missed XXXX monthly payments for an account that was closed years ago. Almost every single thing they reported is wrong and once the damage to my credit is done going back and correcting the errors does not actually fix the damage to my credit. If they had reported truthfully correctly and in a timely fashion this would not have caused such damage to my credit. I spoke to American Express and was told a supervisor would call me to discuss it and no one ever called. I have literally not received anything from these people in years and they have completely destroyed my credit over the last four weeks.

Complaint: I have reached out several times to American Express and they said that they would correct any error on my report caused by there company. Till this day they have not corrected any information on my credit report. I will be filing a lawsuit in my county for them reporting false information on my report. This has caused me financial difficulty and has cost me time and money to dispute this error. Please remove this inquiry within 10 days of this notice. i also have enclosed one of the three letters i received saying that they would remove this inquiry. American Express should contact XXXX and XXXX to remove inquiry.

Problem with rewards from credit card
Complaint: I am a loyal American Express customer. I have been their client for some years now. I like their Membership Rewards program, and like the feature of transferring points to partner airlines. But today, XX/XX/2019, when I tried to transfer my available Membership Rewards points to XXXX XXXX (one of the point transfer partners) through American Express website, I was told "This action will not be completed at this time because your account is currently being reviewed to make sure all eligible purchases meet qualifying criteria". I immediately contacted the online customer service through online chat, and asked for help. The online agent was not able to transfer points for me either. So I contacted the customer service through phone, and spoke to a supervisor after being transferred three times. She basically told me the same thing and suggested that this might be caused by misuse of Membership Rewards points. But I do not agree with this, because I have not transferred points in a long time, have been using my credit cards for normal uses, and have not abused the rewards ever. I value my relationship with American Express and have also referred my close friends to apply, and they got approved of American Express cards too. I would like to be able to transfer points again as soon as possible because I already have my next travel planned out and airline reward tickets go out of stock fast. I have never misused Membership Rewards ever, and have zero intention to do it in the future, because I like American Express products a lot.

Complaint: I went on a family vacation to XXXX XXXX, XXXX on XXXX XXXX to XX/XX/2019. I booked it through American Express Travel in XX/XX/2019. When booking, I saw a deal on the fine hotel and collections section of the the travel benefits and booked through the vacation. It was presented to me on the website that I can stay at the XXXX-XXXX Hotel in XXXX XXXX for 6 night with 3 people. 1 adult and XXXX children ages XXXX and XXXX years-old. The cost was broken down to me as such XXXX for the 6 nights plus XXXX and additional XXXX Property Fees for (estimated ) taxes and fees. This is estimated total cost of XXXX. I said estimated because as I said before I was told that we I wont know the total fee and taxes until after the stay. Now, before booking I called american and spoke to a Rep who stated that they don't know was the fees are going to be but the taxes are 25% of the hotel daily charges. Ok, I booked thinking I am getting a deal. When I arrived the entire amount was charged for XXXX excluding beverages and activities done at the hotel. I disputed with XXXX while i was checking out, called American Express while I was at the hotel while I was there and they could not give me a accurate breakdown of the charges, but interestingly I was told I was charged an additional adult fee for my daughter who is XXXX years old, So, it seems to me that American Express advertises for XXXX XXXX a false price misleading their customer in beliving that the fees and taxes may vary but you are pay what they are advertising. The reason I say that I still can't get a breakdown of what the fees were during my stay and the separate taxes despite contacting Amex. I called Amex and they said that I was sent a letter detailing the resolution which I never received and will be sending out another in 7-10 days. I want to resolve this now its been 2 months. When I call, I have to speak to travel team, the platinum team. and switched among all these department to get what I was told to be one price Plus fees which were to be determine.

Complaint: On early XX/XX/XXXX, I applied for Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card, when I signed up, American express gave me the offer that promised me I would get XXXX bonus miles after making $XXXX purchase with the card. However, within 3 months I already spent over $XXXX. When I asked American Express when can I get my XXXX miles rewards, they refused to give me. It was my first time to apply for the American Express Delta credit card, and I have never had the same card before. American Express never give me a reason why I am not eligible for the welcome bonus offer.

Complaint: Around XX/XX/XXXX, my now husband and I opened an AMEX Gold and Platinum account. We informed the agent who represented AMEX that we were going to use our Gold card to fund our wedding, which would take place later that year. We immediately enrolled both cards into the pay over time feature due to the expenses we would be incurring. The agent informed us that our interest rate would be 19.99%. We began making purchases towards the wedding in XX/XX/XXXX but were faced with a credit line issue on XX/XX/XXXX. Our card was declined for a XXXX purchase. We immediately contacted AMEX and inquired as to what was the issue as our cards had no limit and a threshold of XXXX before any payments were due. The agent stated that the card should have worked and that the issue was resolved but after we were forced to pay XXXX more towards our previously paid statement. This issue caused our annual Platinum card of XXXX to be due by XX/XX/XXXX instead of at the end of the year. We inquired as to if this would happen again and we were assured that it would not. However, on XX/XX/XXXX the matter arose again. and we had to pay XXXX in order to gain access to our "limitless" cards. We could not trust the credit card merchant any longer and requested to place both our Gold and Platinum accounts in a settlement state where we could just pay the balance off over a 36 month time period with no interest. According to the supervisor in the settlements department, XXXX this could not be done and that we needed to pay the balance in full moving forward. We informed the supervisor that we were enrolled in pay overtime. The agent proceeded to say that he would have to investigate our claims and the call was disconnected. We did not hear back from AMEX regarding this matter and continued to pay XXXX towards our cards as we had done so in the past. However, around late XX/XX/XXXX we received a statement that reflected a higher than usual interest rate of 29.99% and not the 19.99% we had been paying before. We immediately contacted AMEX to resolve the issue but to no avail. We closed the accounts and continued to pay the XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX when we were informed that our credit score had been affected due to missed payment. My husband and I have worked extremely hard on our credit and have never missed a payment and wanted to know what was going on. We pulled our credit report and saw that all 3 credit bureaus were notified that we missed our XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX payments to AMEX. We contacted AMEX to inquire why they sent erroneous information to the credit bureaus. The agent for AMEX stated that our account was removed from the pay overtime feature by the supervisor from the previous year. Of course we inquired why was this done without our consent and the agent stated that he would escalate the call. We were escalated to a department that would fix the issue but were met with another agent who stated that she would have a senior manager call back. We were never contacted but instead our Blue account was canceled and from that point everything went wrong. We contacted AMEX disputes, subpoena response team and corporate office to resolve the matter via certified mail. As of date, we were informed that our accounts have been turned over to a collections team.
