Can't use card to make purchases
Complaint: This is a personal Delta American Express charge card. I am a 30 year customer with American Express. I suddenly, without notice or warning have noted that " Charging Privileges Have Been Suspended ''. The card is current, with no money owed. This notice is only available online and I never received ANY written advice of this action. My account is not " paperless ''. At the phone number provided to call for information, after nearly an hour on the phone THREE TIMES, no explanation was ever provided and I was advised I " would be contacted '' to explain the ( lack of ) issue. I was never contacted. I had accumulated miles points on the card that I can not access and my charge privileges have been suspended. I am unable to obtain any information.

Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Complaint: I applied the American Express skymiles credit card in XX/XX/XXXX. But i didnt received it. After waiting, I called they mailed agin, then I still didnt received. Then I called again, finally I got the card at XX/XX/XXXX. But it pass the time of three moths limits that I can get my rewards. They tell me I couldnt get the points for it passed three months. Complaint: XX/XX/2019 : I paid {$1400.00} to American Express. I had closed my account 2 months earlier proactively. It became past due. I then paid {$1400.00}.
XX/XX/2019 : I had submitted complaints to both XXXX and AmEx that they only show my account closed now. They show {$0.00} payment made. I even sent the screen shot of payment posted and cleared. They need to show that I made a {$1400.00} payment.
NOTE : When XXXX executed the complaint, my credit report was updated to show new balance on the account, but shows a {$0.00} payment made. That is designed to be deceitful, so that another creditor will assume the amount was written down {$1400.00}, versus paid. AmEx needs to show that I paid {$1400.00}.

Complaint: I was told I had 90 days after account closure to use my points.
At any rate, on XX/XX/2019 I closed my account.
I have a CHAT saved conversation, where I state that immediately before chatting, I tried to redeem points, and it wouldn't let me.
The system said Phone Number needed. Even after adding that, I still couldn't use them. The system didn't allow me to press any buttons.
That was BEFORE I closed my account.
I suspect that AMEX purposely behind the scenes restricts ability for people to use their points, when the account is late or about to be closed, without knowledge to the customer, and in default of what they say, that you can indeed use the points.
I firmly believe AmEX is in violation of marketing and deceptive practices.
I had XXXX, and was unable to redeem them. I have PROOF of this from a chat conversation.

Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Complaint: I contacted Amex on XX/XX/19 to apply for the XXXX XXXX XXXX card. I understand I am not permitted to apply for this card if I had other XXXX cards in the past. I have never applied for any XXXX card in the past. I quickly learned that I was not eligible to receive the 75,000 bonus, despite advertisements as such. I called Amex 3 separate times. I had the call hung up on me 2 of the 3 times. Every representative had no explanation for me as to why I was denied. I called again on XX/XX/19 and spoke to 5 different agents from different department. They were supervisors and agents and customer service. One representative told me that there are no violations posted on my account and that he does not understand why I would be denied the bonus offer. I was told my another representative that the bonus offer is expired. However, I have friends that recently applied for the same card and was accepted. I spent approximately 1 hour on the phone with Amex on XX/XX/19 to no avail. Each time, I was told they have no explanation why I was denied. I relayed that I believe this was false advertising and a potentially discriminatory practice. Not a single Amex employee had any kind of explanation. Please assist.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I applied for amex card. I was well aware of the fee for the card. I did not activate the card until XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email saying that my card payment was overdue. When I called customer service, I was told that the fee was due on the application date not XX/XX/XXXX. I received no bill, email etc for the fee between XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX. I do not understand why I did not receive a bill on XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX but a '' demand '' on XX/XX/XXXX. The rep was totally confused. I would appreciate some clarity about this.

Complaint: Complaint : American Express isn't resolving a disputeabout a purchase on my statement Chargeback reason : Received goods and or services that are different than the written description provided by the merchant at the time of purchase On XX/XX/2019 I purchased a round trip Business Class Airline ticket for my Fiance.
I reviewed XXXX XXXX travel classes and selected business class based on the criteria listed on your website which included the following : the full sleeper flat bed, XXXX seat width, and fully movable headrest. Based on the dates of travel and flight availability from XXXX to XXXX, I selected business class flights with a connection ; however, XXXX XXXX pulled a bait and switch and provided economy seats Calls to XXXX XXXX customer service did not get resolution. On XX/XX/2019 I sent formal complaint to XXXX XXXX ( please see attached ). On the same day I received auto generated reply stating that they would be in touch with me shortly. I spent almost XXXX weeks reaching to XXXX XXXX asking for assistance and resolution.
On XX/XX/2019 I contacted American Express and invoked my consumer billing rights, and requested that a dispute be initiated for XXXX XXXX Transaction, and {$2500.00} was placed into dispute. I provided American express extensive details and supporting documentation, which has been included with this complaint.
On XX/XX/2019 I received a letter from American Express stating they are rebilling my account because XXXX XXXX provided a copy of the receipt stating " please be advised that this is the best copy of documentation that we could obtain from the merchant ''. I immediately contacted American Express billing dispute and shared concerns that a determination was made with investigation into the specific concerns of receiving goods or services that are different than the written description provided by the merchant at the time of purchase. I insisted on the dispute be reopened and investigated. So, the dispute was reopened.
On XX/XX/2019 I received a letter American Express stating that they are rebilling my account because there is no recourse, referencing supporting documentation that was. provided in the XX/XX/2019 letter. This was the second time, the billing issue was not investigated. How can a conclusion be made when there was no research or information reviewed from the merchant? The information that I provided to American Express for the dispute investigation has overwhelming evidence to support that goods were different than the written description provided by the merchant at the time of purchase. Where is the information and documentation that XXXX XXXX provided to American Express, that led to the determination of rebilling me for transaction?
The reason I reached out to American Express for help is because XXXX XXXX was unresponsive. Not only did American Express fail to investigate this twice, a conclusion was reached with no documentation review or analysis from the merchant, but now they recommend that I made additional attempts to contact an unresponsive merchant. This leads me to think that XXXX XXXX made empty promises of resolution to American Express to extend this matter past the 120 days established by American Express, knowing that the credit company will not help after this 120 day deadline.

Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Complaint: I signed up for AMEX XXXX XXXX that gives money back every time you dine at a restaurant around XX/XX/2019. I already had 2 other AMEX cards, where I made payments on time, but still carried a balance.
When I went to apply for this card, there was never any mention this was a charge back card, and if there was, I understood charge back meant that I would get some of the money back into the card. That is how I interpreted it. For those of us whose primary language is not English, you can see why we would take that translation literal.
I signed up for this card, and I tried to meet the minimum required to get the points they were going to award after making the purchases, and I was making my payments as usual.
Then around XX/XX/2019, I noticed AMEX was calling me incessantly, and sending me emails, saying my payment had not yet arrived - which never did happen because all my payments had always been on time. I then called them, and they basically harassed me on the phone stating I needed to make the payment in full. I explained I did not understand why did I have to make the payment in full when all my other cards I could carry a balance ; the customer service representative chastised me for not knowing better when I signed up for the card, that it was all there in the fine print, and if I didn't read it, they couldn't really help it.
She then convinced me to do a payment plan - where I would be able to make all my payments on time, and it wouldn't affect my credit, and I would have no penalty. I agreed. She then told me she was going to freeze not only that particular card, but all of the other cards. I inquired why would my cards that had nothing to do with this one had to frozen, and she cited policy.
I have since then making my payments on time without an issue.
This month, XX/XX/2019, however, I went to check my credit score and noticed that AMEX had decreased my limit so significantly that it caused my XXXX XXXX to drop XXXX points. I called them upset because had I know about this, I wouldn't have signed up for this. They said they can not make any corrections to my credit, and that they are pretty sure that was divulged to me when I opted to do the payment plan. I wasn't really given the option to " opt '' into anything, I was basically harassed to do it, and they would not work with me.
I feel completely lied to and not taken care by AMEX, given that I have been a loyal customer. They certainly seem to use the fish-and-bait tactics to lure customers into signing up for their credit cards without disclosing in proper size letter that this is a charge card ; and what is a charge card? A card that it is different from a credit card, and that you must pay for its balance in full monthly.
I talked to other friends who also obtained the same card, and they also stated they had no idea this was a charge card, so clearly I am not the only one here.
The credit score drop has and will impact my ability to remain employed, obtain credit and so forth.
