Complaint: Around XXXX of 2019 I applied for the American Express XXXX XXXX Card. Due to my business travel it made sense to get the perks despite the card being {$450.00} annual fee. It also was advertised with XXXX bonus points which confirmed to me it would be the right choice. I had an existing American Express card ( no fee ), and there was never any indication that I wouldn't be eligible for this card or the XXXX points. The application process was easy, and I was approved right away. The terms and conditions language around the XXXX points was very vague, basically saying American Express could refuse the points if they wanted ( they keep pointing back to that language ) I was supposed to spend $ XXXX in the first 3 months to get the XXXX points, so I consciously made sure to make that ( I spent well over that amount ). 30 days after getting the card they applied the {$450.00} fee which I paid right away. 3 months after I made sure I spent enough we inquired about where the points were. They said it takes a few weeks to get them. No follow up, and no indication that we weren't getting them. Same conversation a few weeks later. About a month plus later I called and someone finally said that we weren't getting the points. They also said we got a message during the application process that said that ( never happened ). I called again to file a complaint. A case was created to research. I never heard back so called a week later. The rep told me that case was closed ( no reach out to me ) and that they couldn't do anything for me. This rep continued to push at that language in the T & C, but also said he could see no reason why this was denied and had never seen it before. I have since filed another complaint and I doubt I hear back. I also reached out to XXXX for support and there's nothing they can do. I feel like this is a complete scam. They got my {$450.00} and they forced me to spend $ XXXX in the first 3 months to get something that was never coming to me. I can't believe a company this large has to resort to these practices. I'm at a complete dead end here.

Complaint: This all started on or around the middle/end of XX/XX/XXXX. My account was closed for no reason. I went to check my account online only to find out that it had been closed. I tried to contact the company on this day only to find out that my account online had been suspended. Also I tried phone contact and the automated system is telling me the same thing and would not process my call for me to speak with a customer service rep. On XX/XX/XXXX I finally was able to get through and spoke with XXXX ( Supervisor in the Acct. Protection Services ). XXXX stated that the account had been suspended for fraudulent activity and that it was being looked into. I would be notified via email. I never received any type correspondance from Amex/Bluebird in regards to my acct. Every customer rep that I spoke with this day is telling me the same thing. So on XX/XX/XXXX, I called again and explained my situation to a customer service rep. Who responded with the same info as the call on XX/XX/XXXX. Now I ask to speak with another Supervisor. I speak with XXXX ( Acct. Protection Servicces ). XXXX says my account is still being investigated. It takes 7-10 business days. She went further on to say that {$28.00} was being sent back to sender ( XXXX XXXX ) & the balance of $ XXXX-a direct deposit transaction will be refunded via a check. Again 7-10 business days. Still no correspondance from AMex as to why the account was closed and when/where my money is, What transactions were fraud. nothing. i given plenty of time for some type of letter, something to be sent to me. I had a balance of {$66.00} left on the acct. It wasn't returned to sender and I have not received my funds back. These funds had been sitting on the account why wasn't it flagged upon deposit. Which by the way was from a legit bank account. Today XX/XX/19 I call the company again demanding an answer as to where my money is. I again speak with a customer service rep. who by the way had me on hold for like 15 min. only for her to tell me the same as previous, and that I would need to write the company. I then speak with XXXX ( supervisor ). She also had me on hold for like 15min. Today this whole call started @ XXXX and went on 42 minutes. Being put on hold multiple times only for XXXX to come back and tell me that I need to write the company @ XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, GA XXXX. Also that I will not be getting my money refunded to me for fraud. WHY AND WHERE IS MY MONEY. IM TIRED OF THE RUN AROUND. All I want is my money back. You can't just take my balance on my card, close the account and not say nothing to the customer. It's bad enough if you send me a check I have to pay to cash the check for my own money. To resolve this issue all I want is my money back. After repeated attempts to get answers and my money back your company is not doing anything to assist me and I'm 1 livid person right now.

Complaint: My American Express reward points ( Membership Rewards ) have been frozen for several months pending a " review '' by AMEX. I want AMEX to complete the review immediately or commit to complete it within a reasonable timeframe so I can redeem the points as advertised. Whenever I contact AMEX about the issue, their agent say my Membership Rewards account is under review and it will take 6 to 8 weeks for the review to be completed. However the 6 to 8 weeks period has passed and I keep getting told by agents to wait more weeks with no explanation about the delay or a clear timeline. Agents seem to he unempowered to do anything about the issue and unable to put me into direct contact with the actual team doing the review. Again, the resolution I'm looking for is I want AMEX to complete the " review '' immediately or commit to complete it within a reasonable timeframe so I can redeem the points as advertised. If the AMEX team reviewing my complaint is not empowered to directly resolve my issue, please escalate or transfer this complaint to the team responsible with completing the Membership Rewards account reviews.

Complaint: Spoke with representatives and remitted 2 separate payments, {$510.00} for account ending XXXX and {$530.00} for account ending XXXX. Representative stated that, as per settlement agreements these payments would be accepted as " payment in full '' for account balances. I responded to the offer to retire these debts, and proactively reached out to the company. Credit report shows balance of {$480.00} for account XXXX and full balance for account XXXX. The company did not honor their part of the agreement ; it took the one payment {$530.00} applied it to the balance but did not update balance to XXXX as agreed on their recorded line and documents mailed to me. Secondly, the company took the agreed settlement amount for account ending XXXX and simply did not report any payment all. The company has violated their part of an agreement initiated by themselves. I spoke with representatives today ( 3, including one supervisor ). All of them attempted to transfer me to someone else and not one of them could give a reasonable explanation of why my payments are not reported and/or why they are not honoring the settlement agreement. American Express has misled me into believing that if I remit a fixed amount - settlement amount - they would accept those payments as " paid in full ''. However, they have completely abandoned their part of the arrangement.
