Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, A recurring payment in the amount of {$110.00} .00, caused my checking account to be overdrawn and a fee in the amount of {$35.00} was assessed. On XX/XX/XXXX, i deposited the amount of {$560.00} however Wells Fargo only released part of the funds until days later.
On the same day i deposited the amount of {$560.00}, Wells Fargo charged an overdraft fee in the amount of {$170.00}. I understand that a bank may charge the account for over draft fee, however the amount charged was excessive and not in accordance with Federal Laws. The account had only been overdrawn two days when the excessive amount of {$170.00} was debited from my account.
On XX/XX/XXXX, a fraudulent transaction from XXXX was debited from my account twice yet i have not made any purchases. These two transactions are fraudulent in nature, not even XXXX has a history of these purchases.

Complaint: We took out a loan with Wells Fargo about 10 years ago. This loan was an interest only loan for a duration of ten years ; then the interest can change after 10 years. Early in the mortgage we realized that this was not in our best interest and it was the bank that acted as a predatory lender. My wife and I were quite capable of paying our mortgage. We have never missed a payment and always paid on time. We have asked Wells Fargo on many occasions to give us the opportunity to refinance our mortgage. Each time we were declined. Our first attempt for seeking refinancing by Wells Fargo was done with the assistance of Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America ( NACA ) and we were declined. We were declined many other times through out the 10 years. We have paid out to Wells Fargo over {$400.00} dollars with little or no principle.
We finally got the opportunity to refinance with a different bank at a 4 % rate last year ( 2016 ). At the end of 10 years we are starting with the same amount on our mortgage as day one ten years ago. Wells Fargo should have the decency to refund us back a portion of that 400,00 dollars. With my new bank today, I pay interest plus principle plus an extra XXXX for principle only to pay off my mortgage in 15 years. Be careful with Wells Fargo!!!!

Problem accessing account
Complaint: As an American with faith in our financial system I chose Wells Fargo as my second chance bank in an environment that slaughter the Wells Fargo identity.

Unfortunately, the news reports about Wells Fargo continue to be true after the claim of several millions in investments to repair problems with consumer protection.

I was notified the bank would be changing my savings account to a checking account on XX/XX/XXXX. I already had a checking account with Wells Fargo and assuming the notification was in my best interest I moved all funds to my checking account.

None of my auto pay setups from my checking account were transferred and in early XXXX I began questioning charges from XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX. The company had overcharged my account several times even with the assertion that my checking accounts had overdraft protection.

The dispute with XXXX led to a refund of over {$1000.00}. This was not a settlement but proof to my trusted bank that XXXX was allowed to override the supposed overdraft protection and subsequently sent my account into negative for more than {$1200.00} including overdraft fees from the bank.

When I voiced my concerns to Wells Fargo in late XXXX I lost all access to online services and received several statements in the mail that did not reflect the activity I was concerned about at the time. I am XXXX and XXXX. I hoped to use retirement funds deposited into Wells Fargo to allow whatever is left of my life to help others.

Last Friday before a medical appointment I stopped by the downtown branch in XXXX, Mississippi and requested and received the statements I needed to show there had been activity on the account long after I requested it be closed. Wells Fargo sent the account to collections bearing a different amount.

The statements I received do not show why there was a change in the amount but the charge off reflects nearly a {$1000.00} difference from the credit company now hounding me for the overdrafts.

Nearly {$14000.00} dwindled to a - {$1200.00} balance with little to no interaction with the bank about how this occurred or how to stop it. I spoke with a bank manager from XXXX today who is still refusing to put words in writing about this incident. I was XXXX and XXXX XXXX at my temporary residence recently. I have informed Wells Fargo of the danger of ignoring this problem as I struggle for life.

XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX of the downtown XXXX location have refused to communicate a resolution or understanding of what happen in writing at this point. I have been offered phone conversations but as you read this I hope anyone is aware written communication for a problem as large as this is absolutely necessary.

Wells Fargo has the ability to pay big money to shut me up. I am broke because I gave all my money to Wells Fargo.

Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Complaint: To give you the details of what has transpired, please see below : - I lost my typically used credit card through XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, right before I was set to leave on a trip to XXXX XXXX XXXX for work. As such, I used by " back up '' credit card through Wells Fargo, that my parents helped me open when I was XXXX.
- I paid off the entirety of the Wells Fargo card as soon as I received my XXXX card in XX/XX/XXXX. You can view this in my payment history.
- There was a fraudulent XXXX charge on my account sometime in XX/XX/XXXX for some XXXXUSD. I should mention this is the second time in my short life that Wells Fargo has had fraud issues on my account, the first being some 4-5 years ago.
- There was no notification via email or phone that indicated such a charge had been made, therefore I was not aware and could not process the charge as Fraud.
- The account went into delinquent status because I did not pay the XXXXUSD charge or report it as fraud - again because I was not notified.
- The account was closed because I did not pay the charge or report it - again because I was not notified.
- I found on an application to a new apartment in XXXX XXXX XXXX that something funny was going on with my Wells Fargo account so I called yesterday evening ( XX/XX/XXXX ). I spoke with no less than 5 people - from customer service to fraud to collections to fraud again and was told the following : -- - My account was closed due to lack of payment for over 60 days over a XXXXUSD charge.
-- - There were messages that were sent though none that I received.
-- - There was actually an over-payment on my card from XX/XX/XXXX that led to XXXXUSD balance - the charge was actually paid off prior to happening and there was no payment owed by me.
-- - Fraud was flagged on the account ( by a particularly nasty Wells Fargo employee XXXX ) and she would process as such and let me know the result.
-- - Customer Service mentioned that I would be called by Executive Office to follow up and they would amend my credit report due to " Bank Error '' and open my account.
- Today ( XX/XX/XXXX ), I received a call from XXXX regarding this issue. He informed me that to reopen my account, they would need to process a new credit inquiry, etc. After mentioning that my goal was not even to reopen, just to have Wells Fargo rectify their grave error, he told me that was n't possible. I asked him to listen to the recordings of the previous evening figuring that may shed light on what I was trying to achieve. Begrudgingly, he did so. He called me back some 30 minutes later and informed me that the customer service individual I spoke with essentially lied to me, that there was no bank error, and that to reopen my account they would need a credit inquiry. This call lasted another 10 minutes of bickering on behalf of XXXX with no apology and, frankly, a surprising amount of attitude given his position. I mentioned I would like to file another complaint and would like him to confirm the details to which he replied, " you will need a subpoena for the records. '' As you can see, through multiple errors on behalf of Wells Fargo, I am now writing this letter to you.

Problem using a debit or ATM card
Complaint: On XXXX XXXX XXXX, I attempted to withdraw money from my checking account at an ATM while I was out of town on vacation. The ATM rejected the transaction due to " Invalid PIN. '' I was concerned by this as I had not changed my PIN, and I was, as I still am, sure that it was being used correctly. I quickly looked into my banking records and did not see any suspicious activity or anything else to make me feel concern about the account status.
I called Wells Fargo phone banking. As part of the identification process, the PIN is required. I was again notified of an invalid PIN. I spoke with a banker to inquire as to when my PIN was last changed or any other information that might help resolve the situation. This information was not available and the phone representative was unable to do anything to help me gain access to my accounts thru an ATM other than requesting a new PIN be mailed to my home address. This was not a timely solution. As a result of my inability to access my funds at an ATM, I used a cash advance service, which charged fees in excess of what I would have paid at an ATM, so I could access my funds in a timely manner.
Once I returned to my home, I visited the my branch location on XXXX XXXX XXXX. I first visited the branch ATM where I was able to access my accounts and make a withdrawal with no issues using the same PIN as the day before. I then spoke to a banker about my concerns and what had happened. She asked me to swipe my ATM card at her station ( desk ) and validate my PIN ; her system notified that an invalid PIN had been entered. ( Please note that the same PIN has been used in all instances referenced here. ) After a number of conversations with different people in the branch and on the phone, the representative and Wells Fargo were thoroughly confused as to what had happened and why my PIN would be accepted in one instance but not another. The best they could tell me is that is was some kind of system glitch occurring and that I would need to reprogram my PIN in order to correct it for future use.
I requested that the excessive fees that I was charged as a result of not being able to access my account at an ATM be refunded as these charges were a result of Wells Fargo " system glitches '' and would not have been incurred had I been able to access my accounts without issue. The total fees incurred as a result of these glitches is {$88.00}.
The branch manager on duty ( XXXX XXXX ) refused to reimburse for these charged fees. In doing so, he cited that the fees originated at a casino and although the Wells Fargo system did not work as it should have, he was unwilling to assist because of what the funds were likely to be used to do based on the location of the withdrawal.

Complaint: To Whom It May Concern : My Forbearance was from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, to assist me in keeping my home and modify my monthly payment with a more affordable payment, if possible.
In XX/XX/XXXX, I saved enough money to purchase this house located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX MD XXXX. I paid my mortgage on time each month starting with my old mortgage company XXXX XXXX which was then obtain by Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. I then got laid off XX/XX/XXXX. I lived on my savings, Severance pay and unemployment up until XX/XX/XXXX, with this income I paid my mortgage on time. I 'm enclosing to letters from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. each letter said that I will owe a balance but no mention that I would have to pay it up front in order to reinstate my mortgage payment. Wells Fargo is claiming I was default in my mortgage, I became defaulted when they returned my payments in XX/XX/XXXX.
I applied for a forbearance so I could pay other bills and still pay my mortgage because it was explained to me by the Representative an employee, XXXX XXXX of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage that after the forbearance I will get a modification and reinstate my mortgage payment starting XX/XX/XXXX but to my surprise it was not so. I mailed in a mortgage payment in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX and it was returned. I was refused my mortgage reinstatement so I appealed several times only to be refused. I called HUD which is suppose to help homeowners from become homeless with all those government programs and I was not help by them also.
I am very disappointed since knowing that the government bailed out these banks and they are still railroading honest innocent homeowners like myself so they can have the equity and the house. I feel cheated. I may not know how to explain this but I know I am being wronged. I would like to have access to any and all government programs that would allow me to keep my home and stop my children and I from become homeless.
Yes, my income has changed to a more positive income. I am babysitting for the amount of {$2000.00} per month for XXXX children at {$250.00} per week ( this is sure money ), my mother pays {$640.00} towards the mortgage also. I still have savings in my credit union and I have XXXX tenants : XXXX is paying {$950.00} and the other {$500.00} per month. I received {$2500.00} a month in child support. I am paid {$1500.00} bi-weekly. I can afford my home. I would do anything to keep my home. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
What you as a consumer protection agency do to assist me if Wells Fargo Home Mortgage refuses to correct this problem.
They response to you is that they can respond because they are in litigation for a case that is involve the same issues I 'm having with them. So I would like to be included in that case. Or what will be done by this Office to stop the sale of my home from going any further. Would this office file another case against, I know at least one other person having a similar issue with them, in another US country.
Wells Fargo is a Bully and only know how to steal from honest homeowners.
