Complaint: I have been attempting to buy out a Nissan lease since XXXX. When I tried to complete the transaction with the dealership, they said there was roughly another $ XXXX that had to be paid to NMAC with no explanation. After contacting NMAC I was told that despite being on autopay the entire lease term, they would not draft the last payment, and that I had to make it manually over the phone. There was no communication about this requirement which partially delayed the final purchase and resulted in late fees. They also charged me a fee to take the payment manually! They also noted XXXX {$700.00} from an unexplained " parking ticket ''. I told them I was unaware of any unpaid tickets and requested validation before I would blindly pay {$700.00}. I was told they had to pull a copy of the ticket from the " file vault '' and that it would take 48 hours to receive via email. It actually took about 2 weeks to receive the email, and it was not a copy of the ticket as promised, but a simple print out of the charged dollar amount that I can access online. There was no reason to wait 2 weeks for this! We decided to make a trip into the dealership to get them on the phone with NMAC and hopefully get this resolved once and for all. The agent there just put us at an empty desk, dialed the number, and left. So the dealership was no help. Ultimately, the phone agent promised again to send an actual copy of the ticket and that it would be faxed directly to the dealership within 2 hours, as well as be mailed. Nothing ever arrived. We contacted NMAC and the dealership again to complain. XXXX XXXX at the dealership finally sent a text message on XXXX with a screenshot of an email he received that at least contained a ticket #, but no copy of the ticket or proof that it was valid. We decided that the only way to validate the ticket was to do the work ourselves and go hunting for this ticket # at the local police departments and XXXX offices. After lots of time, we were told by XXXX XXXX that the ticket was in fact an error of the billing company had issued multiple duplicate bills to NMAC and that she dismissed them. This explains why the ticket was unrecognized as well as why it was so high for " a parking ticket '' as described by NMAC. So there was in fact an error, and we had to jump through hoops to prove it, instead of being treated fairly and provided with proper documentation. I called NMAC and talked to XXXX XXXX and explained the error and the dismissal. He asked me to go back and request copies of the dismissal. We requested copies but XXXX XXXX clerk told us that the original tickets that NMAC already had are the only documents. The clerk provided us with lots of additional detail to provide to NMAC, including her name and phone number, and the name and phone number of the billing company that has a credit waiting for NMAC if they would simply call to retrieve it. I called NMAC again and spoke to XXXX XXXX and explained the situation again. He told me this was not enough information for him to take any steps, and despite saying that he could see copies of the original ticket, he said I had to fax my copy of the ticket because " Anybody could just call in and say this. '' I think that 's outrageous, but I decided to send what he asked for so he will proceed. XXXX XXXX who has copies of the tickets, faxed them directly to XXXX and confirmed that they were sent. I been waited and expected to hear back but did not. I 've since been calling and leaving messages for both XXXX and XXXX but they do not answer nor return my calls. It 's now XXXX and this is still not resolved, there is no end in sight, and no one at NMAC nor the dealership is trying to resolve the issue. Meanwhile NMAC is adding lease payments and late fees onto the purchase price of a car that I should have owned in XXXX if not for their incompetence.

Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/16, Nissan Finance called my home 13 times from an unidentified phone number. They did not leave any voicemails. At XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/16, I received another call from this phone number. My XXXX XXXX XXXX daughter answered the phone. The caller refused to tell her his name. He told her not to worry about and put her mother on the phone. When I got on the phone, he refused to tell me his name or the name of his company. He just kept demanding that I put XXXX XXXX ( me ) on the phone. He was n't even sure of the correct spelling of my name. I had no idea who he was and there was no way that I was verifying any information to this man and that is exactly what I told him. He proceeded to yell and scream at me, so I hung up on him. He called me back 11 times. I refused to answer the phone. I then called the number back from a different phone only to find out that it was Nissan Finance. I went through the prompts to get to their billing department and the same man answered the phone. He verified that he was the man that just called my home. I told him under no circumstances was he to call my home again. Not only did he yell at me again, but this time he decided to threaten me as well. I hung up on him once again and blocked the phone number. All of this because my auto payment was overdue. The payment was issued first thing this morning. He would have known that had he talked to like a human being. This is not the first time I 've had problems with their billing department making harassing and threatening phone calls. They called and harassed me at work over a payment that was only 3 days late. I never gave them permission to contact me at work. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable and something needs to be done.

Complaint: I leased XXXX Nissans on XXXX/XXXX/16. We then went back on XXXX/XXXX/16 with my daughter who purchased the XXXX Nissan. Was told at the time of getting the lease, the payment would be due in XXXX. In XXXX, I got the bill for XXXX of the leased vehicles and the purchased vehicle. I called inquiring about the other leased vehicle. Was told at that time, nothing had been received for financing from the dealership. I was told they would remove any late fees if they were charged. I called the dealer twice about the paperwork. Never got a call back. Then on XXXX XXXX, I got the bill for the leased vehicle with a due date of XXXX XXXX ( bill came 2 days after due date ). There were late fees assessed. I called and was told they would remove the late fees, but I needed to pay for XXXX and XXXX. I was also told I was reported the credit bureau for XXXX because I did n't pay. I did n't pay because they did n't even have the info in for XXXX from the dealership! They said they would remove the credit bureau hit on XXXX. I sent the payment for XXXX and XXXX on XXXX ( day I got the very first bill ). I inquired because at that time, the bill did n't even get to me until 2 days AFTER XXXX payment. other XXXX cars have been fine, just this XXXX car. The other XXXX I paid in XXXX no issues, and was not late. On XXXX XXXX, I get yet ANOTHER call about late payments. I had just called on 5 days earlier and was assured they were taking care of this issue! I 've been telling Nissan since XXXX I owed them money. Yes, I told THEM I owed them. But now, I 'm getting late charges and being harassed about payments. The paperwork was late from the dealership. This was not an error on my part.

Problems when you are unable to pay

Consumer Loan: Vehicle loan

Complaint: On XX/XX/2016, my vehicle was taken by a recovery service. When I contacted NMAC, at first they did n't even know it was taken. I was on the phone, being bounced around for at least an hour. When I did speak with someone, I was told twice that I was only one month behind and my car should n't have been taken. The 2nd gentlemen said that the reason for the seize was because I made my payment on a Saturday and the system was n't updated in time. However, he said that 's my problem and I had to pay {$1200.00} plus fees to get my car back. I know for a FACT that there are customers three or more months behind that still have their cars. I also know that NMAC plays these games with customers with newer cars because they get more money. I admitted that I was behind due to medical issues and offered to pay on the spot. The gentleman said no and would not allow me to speak to a manager. No less, that it 's hard to understand the customer service reps due to a language barrier. I have been with NMAC for two years and it has been one issue after another. Hopefully corporate and my lawyer can help.
