Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX. I have been a loyal Netspend customer up until XXXX/XXXX/2019 when my account was closed. I have been very happy with Netspend in the past, and have not had any issues until recently, someone hacked into my account and stole {$1500.00} from me. Upon talking to several representatives as well as supervisors via telephone regarding this issue I have had an absolutely horrible experience. Finally now, I am told that " they didn't find any fraud on my account ''. SO WHERE IS MY MONEY? I have had a terrible time getting a hold of someone, and have not had any of my questions answered regarding this matter. As a result of these events, I have now decided to close my account because I personally do not feel like I am being supported by the employees of Netspend. I currently have over {$12000.00} left in my account and have been struggling to find out when I will get my money. I was told that my money would be refunded to me via Cashiers Check, that it would be mailed to me within 7-10 business days. It has now been 7-10 business days, and now after calling to find out the status, I am told that " my check was never processed ''. What is going on? So now I have had {$1500.00} stolen from account, and am told that there has been no wrong doing, and to top it off now, every penny I have is being kept from me. Complaint: This dispute was filed incorrectly I have tried numerous times to correct that with this company however they have delayed and tried to prevent me from doing so. XXXX XXXX a rep from the corporate office has been corresponding with me even though he has admittedly no authority to resolve me issue this charge occurred on XX/XX/19 it is now XX/XX/XXXX. Mr XXXX idea of a resolution would be to just now submit my information to the dispute team for review even though Ive advised numerous upon numerous times that it was filed incorrectly. This is egregiously incompetent it is nearly four months since the charge occurred and they have yet to credit my account. Please assist.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I was emailed that my card was frozen due to the fact it was stolen or lost which it was not because I had the card on me the card company then put me thru various checks to verify if I was in fact the person who is authorized to have that card after I went thru that for several hours to prove I was in fact the cardholder I still was not allowed access to my account I could not understand why they failed to tell me that XXXX dollars was taken out of my account the only way I found out is because 2weeks prior I had to issue a new card to my wife and she received the new card on XXXX the XXXX had it activated check my account for me and found out I only had XXXX dollars left in the account I then called the card company in which they told me I could file a dispute we did go over my statement of my last transactions over the last 24hours and that's when they read to me that on the XXXX of XXXX I suppose to have transferred XXXX dollars out of my account I told them that is not true I never took any funds out nor did I authorized anyone else to do so currently at this time they have my dispute under investigation I have not submitted any letter yet because I'm a XXXX XXXXr on the road and it's difficult for me to get that done but I am going to get my roommate to do so for me I am also going to call them today which is XX/XX/XXXX and ask that extended credit be issued me someone took my money they seem to believe that I did THEY ARE WRONG I do need help I want my money back and those who stole it arrested

Complaint: On Monday, XX/XX/2019, I received an unsolicited, direct deposit credit card from Netspend. I have been unable to reach a live person at the company to cancel this card. The telephone numbers on the card ( XXXX, XXXX ) are automated messages for activation only ; and the enclosed literature does not provide anything different. I understand, by reading the customer complaints on the Netspend 's web site, that if the card is not activated or goes unused for 90 days, a monthly fee of {$5.00} per month is billed. Complaint: Today, XXXX/XXXX/19, I arrived home and found a letter in my mail from Netspend, a company I have never heard of before today. It was a first class letter ( which usually indicates something you have asked for specifically, not an advertisement ). In the letter was an ACTUAL debit/credit card, with my name embossed and a sticker on it asking me to call the number to activate it. I never applied for this card, as I said I had never heard of the company. This caused several moments of alarm, followed by several more of confusion. Now, I'm angry. This kind of business practice is deceptive, at best. I am smart, and in the prime of my life and even still this MIGHT have fooled me if I didn't take my time with it and do some research. What if a kid gets this ( as they have, according to other anecdotal information I have been able to discover with one quick internet search ), or an elderly person, or someone with a mild developmental XXXX, and they are confused and think it is something they asked for? Also available with a quick internet search is anecdotal information about a litany of crimes and malfeasant practices by this company. I ask that someone over there looks into this company 's business practices and try to prevent the OBVIOUS unethical and potentially dangerous situation this company 's form of " advertising '' is bound to result in. People have a right to not be victimized by these kinds of duplicitous and deceptive tactics employed by disreputable businesses trying to procure " customers ''. This is barely one step away from fraud. IF that far.

Complaint: On Monday XX/XX/2019 around XXXX my vehicle was broken into and my wallet was stolen. In my wallet was my debit card issued by XXXX bank. Being at it was in the middle of the night, I didnt realize my car had been broken into until I woke up for work that morning. When I woke up, I checked my phone and noticed I had alerts from my bank. There were a total of 6 transactions made with my debit card. 3 atm transactions for XXXX dollars each plus atm fees. The first transactions was at XXXX for XXXX. There was another at XXXX for XXXX and another at XXXX for XXXX. Then around XXXX there was a transaction made at a whataburger for XXXX and finally 2 transactions made at a merchant called XXXX XXXX, each for XXXX. I tried calling my bank but the bank customer service center did not open until XXXX so I had to wait until then. Once XXXX came around I called and got the card cancelled and opened up a dispute claim to get my funds returned to me. I sent them screen shots of the transactions made along with a case number of the police report I filed for identity theft. They said they would do an investigation and then contact me once they were done. I received a email from the disputes department yesterday saying they did not see any suspicious activity done on my account and closed the case saying they will not refund my money. I have gone back and forth with them asking how they could not see anything suspicious. The bank would never allow me to withdrawal more than XXXX in a day from a atm so for someone to be able to withdrawal XXXX within 5 minutes is very suspicious to me. I can provide any kind of other information you think will help me in recovering my funds.

Complaint: I received an unsolicited letter in the mail for a Brinks Money Prepaid MasterCard. It was addressed to me at my new address. I did not sign up for anything with this company, and I did not provide my information to them. Inside the letter were these items : a MasterCard embossed with my name, an account number and routing number for XXXX XXXX, and instructions to call in to verify my identity in order to activate the card. Where did they get my information? Why are they sending me a card that I did not request? I feel like this is fraudulent activity to compromise my identity.

Complaint: I bought a Netspend Pre-Paid VISA card purchase price for the card was XXXX + Tax I put the amount of money on the card. There was no choice at this time that there were different plans to choose from that gave them the ability to take fees out of the money put on the card. The card they give you is temporary and for ten to fourteen days you have no idea that they can charge fees and what those fees are for. I bought my card thinking that the amount I paid to put the money on the card was the only fee that I would be charged so like an XXXX I never bothered to check but after the third purchase I made with the card I was wondering if something was wrong and I find out Im being charged XXXX for a monthly fee that I was never made aware of and it is do to the way Netspend does business. They purposely use a temporary card and give no information about how the card can take your money and by the time you receive your permanent card you have already started using it and a person tends not to have these questions at that time because when they used the card they had already committed to whatever the rules of the card was only to find out later that they have been hit with fees they never got the chance to deny it they felt they were unacceptable. By then the Netspend Company already got your money when you times this by thousands and tens of thousands Netspend making Great Amount of Money by ripping their customers off. So this is my complaint I dont think Netspend VISA should be aloud to continue ripping people off and I was wondering if you could stop them for us. Thank You.

Complaint: I submitted a dispute with Netspend and they only pad 3 of the charges disputed as part of a lost card others were denied without explanation and their customer service was unwilling to connect me with there dispute team just explained they concluded fraud did not occur when it was over a lost card and if they believed me and disputed some after and in-between why did they not believe me for other claim XXXX they denied. They also added my last valid charge i made on account for XXXX to dispute which wasn't even connected to my lost card and added it as well to dispute when i explained to their customer service multiple times that it was my last purchase and i wasn't disputing it and also informed them via email to there dispute team this same information.
