Complaint: XX/XX/2019 : I received in the mail a NETSPEND PREPAID MASTERCARD. I never requested, authorized, activated or in any other way contacted the Netspend firm to inquire about this type of card. I have no need for it. I cut the card in half, sent them a letter and requested NO FURTHER ADVERTISING OR MARKETING COMMUNICATION from them. NETSPEND did not respond in any way. XX/XX/2019 : I received a SECOND NETSPEND PREPAID MASTERCARD in the mail. Once again, I sent a letter to Netspend, returned the cut up card and all the associated materials, that this was unauthorized, rejected, never requested and would not be activated. Once again, I never received any type of reply. XX/XX/2019 : I received in the mail a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Once again, I never requested, authorized or in any other way wanted anything like this. The ADDRESS and PRIVACY ACT notices have NETSPEND corporation in them. Once again, { this makes THREE (! ) }, I cut up the card, sent back all materials, with a letter, detailing this is UNAUTHORIZED, UNSOLICITED and UNWANTED. I want this harrassing activity to stop and this firm to be censured.

I have no idea if someone else applied for this using my personal information or what, or if this is a really bad marketing ploy on their end! Complaint: On XXXX, 2019 i used my NetSpend prepaid debit card to purchase a cell phone from XXXX wireless in the amount of {$53.00} that was taken out of my NetSpend account the same day but the following day the order was cancelled due to the fact that the cell phone was not in stock. I contacted XXXX and advised them that I have not received any refund and was advised by a supervisor at XXXX to file a dispute with my bank or card co. I then called NetSpend and filled a dispute. On XXXX XXXX, 2019 I was informed by sprint byway of email that the refund was approved and was sent back to NetSpend. On XXXX XXXX, 2019. Today is XXXX XXXX, 2019 and the money is not credited back to my account nor made available for me yet. The Policy at NetSpend for refunds is that any money refunded would Post to the account and made available within 3 to 5 days after receiving the refund. NetSpend has advised me that the money will not be available to me until XXXX XXXX 2019 completely against the policy and procedure written by NetSpend.

Complaint: I secured a prepaid Netspend debit card six months to a year ago, to be used specifically for online purchasing. On XX/XX/2019, I attempted to use the card to make an online purchase when the purchase was declined by the bank for irregular activities, notwithstanding the fact that I have been using the card consistently for a number of months to purchase very similar items from the same online vender. Since the declined attempted purchase was in every way consistent with all previous purchases, I couldn't understand why my purchase had been declined, nor how was such an irregular activity. I contacted Netspend four times on XX/XX/XXXX regarding this issue, each time I was told that the issue had been resolved and I could continue using the card. However, on each subsequent attempt that day, I continued to get the same results and the same explanation., Finally during my last call on the XXXX, as a result of my frustration with the situation, I requested that the card be cancelled and my funds loaded on the card be returned and refunded. I was informed during that conversation that the card had been cancelled, a refund requested and issued and that I could expect to receive my refund of {$30.00} by the XXXX of XX/XX/2019, via US mail. However, commencing on or about the third of XXXX I began to diligently check my mail each day in search of the refund check I was expecting from Netspend, as of this date, XX/XX/2019, I have received no refund from Netspend. I telephoned Netspend at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and Informed them that I had not received my refund and I was attempting to follow up to determine what next to do. During this phone conversation I was informed the refund check had been mailed on the XXXX of XXXX and that it should arrive to me by Friday the XXXX, however, as stated above, no such thing has transpired. Thirty dollars isn't a lot of money, however it is a lot if they do this to a thousand or a million people.

Complaint: I had a debit prepaid card with Netspend XXXX my work check loaded to this account. I had over XXXX in the account I went to use my debit card in XXXX XXXX it said declined I call because I was locked out of my phone app to view my account I was told I need to send my drivers license and social security card to netspend by email to have my account unlocked within 4 hours I did not send anything I thin talked to their fraud dept and found out XXXX was transferred to a person I do not know they told me they would reset everything and send me a new card as well as unlock my app to view my account when I tried to do this after it was supposedly set in did not work. I called back and they said I was a victim of identity theft and they were closing my account and would send me a live check to my address in 7-10 business days. they said they would dispute the XXXX and send me my account summary for XX/XX/2019 which I did receive and saw other fraud charges for out of state services and a cell phone. they never sent my remaining balance of XXXX as said they would in 7-10 business days. I called XXXX to get an update on the XXXX unauthorized transfer and Netspend said it was considered not fraud because the person who called in pretending to be me knew my security question answer. they said no refund would be issues. They would not let me speak to anyone further.

Complaint: I spoke with a representative from Netspend this morning, who told me I owed them money for an old dispute that was resolved by me. After 10 days, Netspend was supposed to issue a provisional credit which they did not do. They allowed the case to drag on for over a month and a half, including inappropriately holding funds that I had deposited on the account to pay a phone bill. After total disgust in their handling of my dispute with XXXX XXXX - I filed a complaint with XXXX XXXX XXXX and spoke with the airlines. The very next day the money was returned to my account. Netspend did not resolve the issue. I had to because it took Netspend so long to do so. They have consistently refused to release my funds from my tempoary card - WHEN I DON'T OWE THEM ANY MONEY. My account has a XXXX balance and the remainder of the money was returned to me by XXXX yesterday. If there was an issue with an outstanding balance- they would have told me over the last month and a half of using the card and not retuned my money. In fact, I also believe that they shorted me my refund from XXXX - an issue that has never been resolved with them. In speaking to them this morning - they want to have their Global Escalation team to call and have continued to XXXX me around rather than releasing the funds right away, so that I can make my payment due for my cat which is now late because rather than releasing the funds yesterday - that they had no right to hold- they have continued to make up bunk XXXX stories about money I DON'T OWE THEM OR ANYONE ELSE. I Missed half a day of work yesterday along with other obligations I needed to get done and INCURRED A LATE PAYMENT BECAUSE THESE PEOPLE JERKED ME AROUND ALL DAY YESTERDAY AND HELD FUNDS THEY HAD NO RIGHT TO HOLD. In reading online about th his company last night - they have tried to play this game on other people, who finally did recover their money - because Netspend was DEAD WRONG IN KEEPING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. These people are cooked as the cows who come home. They should be investigated not only for their fraudulent activity on my account. But for the many others who have suffered at the hands of their or theft. I WANT MY MONEY RETURNED IMMEDIATELY, SO THAT I CAN PAY MY BILL. PLUS THE LATE PAYMENT THEY WILL OWE FOR NOT IMMMEDIATELY RELEASING MY FUNDS YESTERDAY.
