Problem adding money
Complaint: I obtained a NetSpend prepaid / reloadable card from the Check Center check cashers in XXXX, California ... I set up Direct Deposit to receive my SSI checks directly to the card. The card worked OK for most purchases and even for ATM withdrawals but some time later the card was stolen along with my smartphone wallet containing my drivers ' license, social security card, and smartphone. There is about {$1400.00}. in the NetSpend / XXXX account but due to some sort of technical idiocy at NetSpend ( including their horrible " Customer Service '' reps in the XXXX who can barely speak English but act like they are English scholars ), I am unable to get NetSpend to send me a new card and put my money on it. I even went to a XXXX XXXX locally here with someone else 's money ( {$2.00} for the replacement card plus {$20.00}. minimum deposit just to activate the card at all ) ... first of all, the card I got had a built-in no-ATM limitation which was not mentioned on the card, the card packaging or by the store clerk who sold me the card, so I could not even access the CASH I just had in my hand just seconds before I put the money on the card, following instructions from a NetSpend " customer service '' phone rep who told me to go and buy another NetSpend card, then call them back to be " identified '' over the phone so that the new card could be activated, the existing $ 1300+ on the account transferred to the new temporary card, and a new card issued with my name on it ( non-temporary ) and mailed to my new address in XXXX , Arizona ( I moved largely BECAUSE of the theft, thinking where I was living was simply full of thieves ) ... a second call to NetSpend `` customer service '' yielded the realization from them that they can not put my account balance on the new card because it has a limitation on it because I have " not identified myself '' ... the rep didn't even tell me HOW to identify myself to them except that, again, I had to call in with my details that only I would know and that would suffice for identification ... I have emailed XXXX, uploaded a copy of my previously-scanned California Drivers ' License ( same one I used to get the Check Center NetSpend card in the first place! ) to XXXX, then forwarded to XXXX and have received no human ( non-auto-responder ) response for the past few days ... based on NetSpend 's irresponsibility in the past ( well documented by the Federal Trade Commission on their website ), and their CURRENT irresponsibility where my account is concerned, I do not expect to receive any satisfaction from NetSpend directly and am ready to sue but am now 'exhausting legal remedies ' administratively before proceeding into court and filing ( another ) complaint with the FTC ... I sent all my XXXX routing and account numbers, amounts deposited, dates deposits made, etc. which I obtained from XXXX XXXX, the Office Manager at the Social Security Administration office in XXXX, and they continue to send auto-responses and repeat the useless unusable boilerplate instructions to me by email in response every time. The last email I received from them said the complaint had been " Escalated '' to Corporate but I have no faith in them at all ; I just want my money back from this ripoff company, can you help???

Complaint: Netspend failed to credit my account or even give me a chance at a proper investigation they kept denying my claim of unauthorized charges. When in fact if they would look at the video footage from the atms where the money was withdrawn without my consent or knowledge they would know that my disputes were valid. I was a netspend customer For over a year and I had a business and personal account with them which they claim to secure customers money with the fact that theyre supposed to credit customers accounts when I have disputes by law I believe up to {$500.00} and they kept denying my dispute even though it was XXXX just so they dont have to pay me the money back I got my tax check into one of my Netspend accounts back and second week of XX/XX/XXXX I believeAnd there were charges that were an authorized in the amount of {$480.00} that werent credited back to me

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I went to XXXX to pick up my rental car. I rented there before and asked the agt that the deposit hold would be the usual {$250.00}. He said yes. He finished the rental agreement and I walked out to the car but got a text from XXXX saying {$280.00} had been deducted from my acct. I went back in and showed the agent. He showed me his register and his showed {$250.00}, I showed {$28000.00}. Evidently I had an active reserv. for the 24 hr rental and a previous weekend rental I had cancelled. The agent wrote the agreement from the cancelled reserv. I called XXXX and was told XXXX would have to issue a credit once they cancelled the agreement. ( I no longer needed the car as I had to be where I was going by a cutoff time and that was less than an hour from then and the drive itself was an hour. ) On XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX credit + {$250.00}. At that point we were even.The very next posted transaction on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX is a DEBIT for {$250.00}. From all the information I am able to see through the customer website I see no evidence of the original debit on XX/XX/XXXX ( got a letter to supply to the mgr at XXXX ) the credit on XX/XX/XXXX and the second debit on XX/XX/XXXX. For almost the last month I have been trying to get what it looks like I am owed. I filed a formal dispute XXXX by XX/XX/XXXX it was closed because XXXX issued a credit. Tonight I spoke with XXXX/netspend and a month later I am being told that not only did XXXX issue a credit but now I was told XXXX/netspend also issued a temp credit and that is why the 2nd debit at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX to reverse out this supposed temp credit issued by XXXX/netspend. If that is the case, why am I just finding this out now? Why didnt the dispute process uncover this supposed temp credit. The XXXX agt kept asking me " how do you think your balance got to over {$500.00} after the {$250.00} credit? on XX/XX/XXXX my balance shows at {$280.00}. XXXX credit posts and my balance goes up to {$330.00} approx.. ( i had loaded {$280.00} onto my card right before going to get the rental. I said, " thats how my balance got over {$500.00}. Needless to say the cust svc agent has all the levers of control in from of her,

Complaint: I received an unsolicited mailing from NETSPEND in XX/XX/XXXX offering me access to a prepaid debit card. The mailings have continued one per month going forward into XX/XX/XXXX. Each envelope is addressed to a different individual. All have been mailed to my home address. I contacted NETSPEND customer service in XX/XX/XXXXasking the mailings to be stopped. The representative could offer no assistance so I asked to be connected to a supervisor. I was put on hold for one hour and then my call was disconnected. I never spoke to he supervisor. I did not attempt to reach out to NETSPEND again. Please advise as to how I can stop these fraudulent mailings from continuing. I would like to stress that I have never requested any offer from NETSPEND.

Complaint: Hello, On XX/XX/2019 unauthorized charges were made on my NetSpend prepaid debit card account totaling XXXX. These charges were made in XXXX XXXX, FL and I live in XXXX, Mo. I disputed these charges with NetSpend and was informed to contact them today XX/XX/2019 for provisional credit. As advised I contacted them today and found out that they are holding me liable for these charges because my account shows that it's set up with text and email alerts. I informed them that I only get deposit information to my phone, however I do not get information when charges are made on my card. The email address they send alerts to is one that I don't have access to and haven't in years. I am desperate because this was all the money I had in my account and they are refusing to give it back to me. They didn't apply a provisional credit to continue the investigation and have closed the dispute. I am fighting for my funds back because I was in XXXX XXXX while this person was charging my card and when my card was locked, I tried calling them but their line was closed. I had no choice but to wait until the next morning to dispute. Please help me!!

Complaint: They were told that someone without permission using my card account number and I file the disputes right away and they didnt want to help me with the disputes and closed my account out and refused to refund my money back or anything else and also someone send me a XXXX XXXX payment and I transfer it to my account and they refuse to let me have it and told me that I dont have the right spelling of my name from the sender so I told them if I can not get my money then please refund it back to the sender account and they told me that they cant do that because its a security reason and they are keeping it until they figured out what they want to do with it all this is totally wrong and I dont know what to do about this anymore but Im being scammed and robbed by this company called NetSpend please help me with this matter they have taken {$860.00} from me and dont want to return my money back to me thanks for your help looking forward to hearing from you guys soon XXXX bless

Complaint: Yes on about XX/XX/XXXX or XXXX 2019 i belive it was i was broke i waited for one of my children to get home so i could ask him for permission to pawn his XXXX anyways him n i go to the pawnshop and i pawned it for XXXX my other son comes home and asks me why you pawning the XXXX did u check your liberty tax card my friends moms got her taxes so i ask him for the phone and wen i check my tax return was there alright but that was not what caught my attention what caught my attention was all them transactions made on it so i got up and i went to the XXXX XXXX office so i could speak to the agent i speak to her and i tell her someone is using my card she says call from your end cause theyre closed for us after XXXX so call and stop the card but come back tomorrow that am in and ill give you another card and ill make the call for you so i went home i called netspent and i told them that theres transactions that i didn't do i asked her cant you stop them since there still pending she says no because in order to make a complaint they have had to gone tru so call tomorrow so i cancelled the card i wait to tomorrow at XXXX that the liberty tax lady is in to speak to her n get a card so i speak to her she gives me a card she calls netspent and talks to them she speaks to me i go outside and the 1st thing i do is call netspent since i had the newcard the lady tells me yeah that the card works n i tell her everything that happend from me waking up to noticing the transactions anyways everything is set she gives me an email and a reference number n tells me make copies of the transactions and send everything you think might help your complaint so i write everything down and the 1st thing i do is go to XXXX and buy me a phone cause my old phones screen was all cracked anyways as am looking and taking pictures of the transactions thats wen i notice an email that am familiar with it n its in one of those transactions that weren't made by me and i also see 2 other transactions made on XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX for {$110.00} and another for {$50.00} with the exact email and i start saying to my self XXXX this is crazy its a guy i once dated that i let stay at my house and dats his email and he lives in Pennsylvania his name is XXXX XXXX so i make a police report and i tell this to the cop he makes the report and the next day i go n picked up a copy so am sending everything to netspent and because of all this Drama and all of this stress i had a XXXX and can you believe netspent did not find nothing wrong to my complaint i sent them copies of the pawnshop receipt i even sent them copies of the XXXX i had i kepted on sending them notes of how i felt so i started to look for another email so i could write netspent someone higher and tha someone higher gave me credit for 2 of the transactions but not the others which it dont make sense to me ...
