Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I got a Netspend prepaid card I used the card one time was waiting for them to send my new card XX/XX/2019 I got the new card I activated the card they said I only had XXXX but XX/XX/2019 I had put XXXX on the card I have call them at lest 10 time trying to get the problem fixed but for some reason they dont have any of my stuff right my Netspend app I have on my phone is right but they keep saying Im giving them the wrong number but the number I opened this card with is the only number I have then they keep hanging up on me they have sent me the wrong information on my online site and they are not trying to work with me the card numbers arent matching up

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX order new computer on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX contacted me by email stating my card was being declined. I contacted them by phone & they said my credit card company ( Netspend ) was not letting the transaction go through. I didnt understand since the money {$1400.00} was in my account & now was deducted & shows a pending transaction on my Netspend account. I asked XXXX to cancel my order which they did. I waited a wk & have not received my money yet. I called Netspend & they told me to email them proof. I sent the orgianl receipt & cancel receipt. Waited another couple days & they told me I had to email a explanation of what happenend. I did sent them an email explanation & waited another couple days & still have not received my refund. XX/XX/XXXX I called back & talked to a mangager & he said my refund was declined because the receipt is for {$1400.00} which is the total amount XXXX charged me for & Netspend shows {$1400.00} on their side. I tried to explain to them that they are the ones who charged me for the extra {$1.00}. Every time I use my card they charge me a {$1.00} & they should see all my transaction how it shows that. They still refused. I called the main office in XXXX, TX & left voice mail messages & no one has gotten a hold of me.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 i filed a dispute request for funds to be deposited to my account prior to the end of investigation. Then at XXXX XXXX i recieved a text stating there may be problem with my card and to call XXXX XXXX so i did at which time i was informed their risk department closed my account because i was high risk they would not tell me why i was high risk and but they informed me that i can never have an account with net spend or XXXX XXXX ever again because they classified me high risk i requested to talk to supervisor and requested my disputed funds and half my monthly fee because they closed my account right after getting charges and any other funds returned to me and was told they could not do anything and that i would be contacted by corporater that same day but they would not provide me a number to corporate or risk management i received a letter saying my dispute was found in my favor and deposited into my account i have received no calls from corporate or any of my funds or a satifactory outcome from XXXX XXXX or net spend i also just ordered a card for my girlfriend on myx account and so she is high risk and can not open an account with them even though she has had account far longer than i

Complaint: I have direct deposit on my NetSpend card and I lost my NetSpend card and canceled it and I have been trying to transfer the amount allowed to another NetSpend account and have been trying for three days now with no success because they keep giving me a hard time and i have called a total of 14 times in one day alone and getting some recording 4 times in a row saying they could not hear me and it was my phone that was having difficulty and each time was the same voice and same exact message pretending to speak to me when it was just a recording. also they went from giving me different information each and every time i called about how much money i was allowed to transfer and each time i was getting told the amount went lower and lower at the very end i was only able to transfer XXXX dollars, which makes me feel like i am being deprived of my own earning and they have complete control over my money. in the end i asked to speak to a manager or supervisor with the last 3 reps i spoke to and each time they were hesitant and made me wait more then 45 min each time to then lose the call when being put on hold, so i decided to wait another 45 min one last time and finally i was able to speak to management which also gave me a hard time. so they went from me being able to transfer XXXX in the morning to XXXX dollars by XXXX XXXX a total of 1 hour and 45 min i think is not fair or comforting plus they would not give me contact information on anyone above them to contact and kept telling me that they would send an email to them and i would be contacted in two days. lastly it has been more them 2 months that i expedited my order for a new card which i was charged and was to get in the mail within 2 days and never have recieved it and i have called many times about the matter each time being told that they will send a new one and cancle the last one ordered so that why i have to keep transfering money to a new card each time and being charger XXXX dollars for each transfer which is robbery when they are failing to meet my needs as a customer. this is my hard earned money and they are holding and keeping it away from me.

XXXX XXXX is my XXXX year old son and never applied for any credit cards. We are concerned with identity theft and fraud by this company or whoever applied for this card. Again, my son is only an XXXX year old child. We tried to contact the company by phone but the only active number is to Activate the card. Also, the name listed is XXXX XXXX with an address of XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, GA XXXX. Our address is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, GA XXXX.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 The state of Pennsylvania deposited my state refund in the amount of XXXX..I had not touch this money..On XX/XX/2019. I was on my way to get blood work and I started to receive text alerts telling me someone was withdrawing money from my account in a different state.I instantly checked my purse and I had my debit card on me so I called Netspend and notified them.The lady I talked to lock the account and Informed me they stole {$910.00} she advised me to go get a new card so she can transfer the remaining XXXX to the new card which I did and because I had a XXXX block on the account she could not do it so she advised me to go to the ATM machine And with drawl the money which it would not let me do either because the account was locked and it was over the daily limit so she hung up on me.I called back and spoke to another lady who unlock the account and let me retrieve my money she also ordered me a new card and charged me {$25.00} and while she was on the phone she disputed all five transactions. I asked for the address where this was happening at and it was five hours away so I googled the address and it came back to a XXXX store which I called and the gentleman was very nice and said he would review the cameras and call me back .The gentleman called me back about 30 minutes later and said he reviewed the tapes within that hour and no one use that ATM in that store as I was still on the phone with Netspend I advise them what he said and they had no explanation how someone could withdraw my money without my card .. at first they told me the investigation would take 10 days and to submit documents online which I did now theyre telling me 45 days all I want is my money back So I can close this account and take my business elsewhere..I feel defeated because this company does not offer no help and I do not know where to turn..I have contacted the XXXX XXXX XXXX As well as the federal trade commission

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I was taken by ambulance to XXXX Hospital at XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Texas. While I was in the hospital ( note, I'm a XXXX veteran awaiting a XXXX XXXX and not in good health and all ) I believe my home health aide robbed my apartment in XXXX of laptop, card, cellphone and other items and used my card for about {$1600.00} in charges over the next few weeks. I was released in XX/XX/XXXX and immediately contacted XXXX XXXX NetSpend to file a dispute and freeze the card. My medical power of attorney, XXXX XXXX, at my request, contacted NetSpend to freeze the card in XX/XX/XXXX, they brushed him off and hung up on him. NetSpend, rather than really investigating the claim and following the EFTA and other federal laws, brushed off the dispute and just closed my account on the 10th business day when required to credit my account. By unilaterally deciding to close my account, after the cut off date for social security, it caused my VA/SSI benefits to be delayed almost 2 weeks. They gave a boiler plate resolution and justification for the dispute and have not allowed me any appeal or dispute of their " investigation ''. Documentation was submitted and overlooked. How was I responsible for fraudulent charges made in XXXX while I was in hospital in XXXX intubated. They said charges were consistent ... Four charges of almost the same amount at XXXX in 10 minutes ( {$100.00} )???? Balance inquiry which I never do cause of the app. They stole my laptop and phone. All personal information. Including my PIN. Further, they used the card to rent bikes by XXXX XXXX XXXX ... .I 'm a XXXX XXXX candidate using a XXXX and on XXXX ... .how am I renting bikes in XXXX and XXXX while I am laying in a hospital in XXXX. I wish I could ride a bike again. But, with all this obvious, prima facie evidence and documentation, NetSpend refused to honor the dispute and federal regulations and have by their unappealable actions have blamed the victim and then victimized the victim even more. Under the CPA and EFTA, I'm supposed to be protected from fraudulent charges. Yet NetSpend has allowed someone to take my federal benefits and just says oh well. I mean, they used the card for XXXX and XXXX XXXX, both of which I already had an account. Why would I get secondary XXXX accounts???? Also please note. I have a notorized affidavit I sent NetSpend but can't upload it as it's over 10mb

Complaint: Netspend will not return the remaining balance of {$300.00} on the account that I closed. When I closed the account they said that the remaining balance would be returned via a mailed check. The check wasn't sent. I contacted them, and then they issued a check for the portion of the balance that was loaded to the card with cash but not for the {$2300.00} I had loaded via ACH transfers. When I contacted them again they said they could not return the funds without a letter of indemnity from the originating bank. I contacted the bank that the funds were originally sent from to request the letter. The bank then sent a confirmation letter for the transaction to Netspend. Netspend then returned {$2000.00} via ACH, but withheld the remaining {$300.00} and requested another letter. I then had my bank send the same type of letter on XX/XX/18 for the {$300.00} transaction, but did not hear back from Netspend. When I contacted Netspend again they said they required 20 business days to review the letter and that they would contact me once it was reviewed. I did not hear from them again, so called them again after a month, and they said the letter had been declined. I was forwarded to the fraud department. The representative said he would contact my bank and call me back within 3 business days. I did not receive a call. I called Netspend again and they advised me to wait a few more business days. Again, I did not receive a call. I called back again and was told to send another letter. I have called Netspend at least 20 times, with some calls lasting over 90 minutes and have been left without a way to recover my funds.

Complaint: Two transactions were allowed to debit my account without authorization. I have filed a dispute. The card holder agreement states that provisional credit is to be provided within 10 business days. The date they have set for update is more than a month from the filing date which is a clear violation of their own terms and conditions. They're not protecting me as my financial institution. Please assist. I am also attaching their terms and conditions to this complaint for reference.

Complaint: on XX/XX/XXXX2019 a federal tax return was directed deposited to a brand new Netspend pre-paid visa card. that same day 16 transactions were made against the card totaling {$500.00} which I never made. the co that made these withdrawals was XXXX co/XXXX Netspend has not given me an provisional credit and says the investigation can take up to 90 days, another card was opened and I had to fight with Netspend to transfer the remaining {$800.00} onto the new card. In the meantime my state tax refund was issued on the XXXX of XXXX and sent by direct deposit to a new card. Netspend says they have no record of it arriving. It was for {$210.00}. I was told by the state to check with the bank if it did not arrive by the XXXX. I can't check with XXXX as the account it goes to is Netspends than to the individual cards. If I call netspend they charge me to find out the balance, they charged me for transferring the money that was left on the bad card, every person I talk to tells me something diferent. I have gone in and checked the reviews on this company and wish I had done it before I opened the card as they have over 5000 complaints, a lot of them for the same thing that has happened to me. It is obviousd that someone working at Netspend is responsible for the fraud as my card was in a drawer and had never been used. I wasn't expecting my first5 direct deposit till XX/XX/XXXX2019 so had no way of knowing it had it had arrived the night of the XXXX and the fraud was committed on the XX/XX/XXXX.. They said is was signature purchases which doesn't require a card and it was done without the card. In order to put money on the card you have to show I.D . So I am being lied to. This company should be investigated completely as a lot of people have lost a lot of money because of them

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX - XXXX Visa Debit card given to recipients XX/XX/XXXX - card expiration date XX/XX/XXXX - ( specifically XX/XX/XXXX ) - card rediscovery and called in to company to activate / was told by XXXX ( XXXX ) at Texas Call center to go to US Government unclaimed property and attempt to retrieve funds of {$600.00} after 5 years from now. XXXX informed us the {$600.00} would only be available to us 5 years from now, and this was the only option available. Netspend informed us a replacement card was an option, but XXXX insisted the only route was through the US Government unclaimed property - National Treasury website.

Complaint: Netspend, issued a closed account final check of {$920.00} on XX/XX/2017 ... this payment was sent to my extended family members house in XXXX XXXX, Nevada.. somehow this check found its way to a Bank Named : XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX , somewhere in the State of SD. A place I have never been to. Even if I want to I could not make seeing I have been living in the XXXX these pass three years. I have contacted Netspend, FDIC, AND OCC ABOT THIS MATTER ... and still have not been issued a New Check. This is why I am contacting your Agency.
