Information belongs to someone else
Complaint: XXXX XXXX up my credit profile and showed bad attitude on assisting me solving the problem.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I applied Chase Southwest Credit Card from JP Morgan Chase. Chase pulled my credit report from XXXX then denied my application given the reason of " too many ( >5 ) accounts opened within last 24 months ''. I then telephoned Chase customer support and found out that the credit history Chase got from XXXX was not accurate at all. In the report provided by XXXX XXXXo Chase, I found there are several accounts that were not opened by me. Then I telephoned XXXX customer service and requested a dispute of those accounts against my Credit profile.
I was offended by the process of how XXXX handled my dispute request. Here are my primary complaints : 1. Dereliction of duty XXXX XXXXequired me to submit a lot of supporting documents ( W-2, pay-stub, SSN Card, Drivers License, Address, Rental Agreement, Utility Bill, etc ) to validate my identity, which in my opinion exposed their failure to protect users ' credit info but to return the responsibility to the user to prove his identity.
2. Processing speed very slow Despite XXXX XXXX dereliction of duty, I still submitted those docs accordingly. However, it took XXXX nearly a month only to be able to verify my identity, not even mentioning investigating the inaccurate info requested in my dispute request against the credit report they provided. Interestingly, their call center representative told me this process only takes no more than a week in general.
3. Unresponsive customer call center representatives During the processing time, I telephoned their call center quite a few times tracking the updates. However, none of them was useful. Every time what I can only hear was their emphasis on they couldn't see anything from their database, so I had to either wait or to re-submit again. They even suspected me mailing the docs to the wrong place. Ironically, the mailing address was provided by XXXX. I believe it was because of their internal miscommunications which caused the delay, however, what I felt about the attitude from the representative was " We can't do anything from our XXXX side. If you want us to process the dispute, you have to provide this and this, that and that ... '', even forgetting the cause of this inconvenience may possibly be the recent data exposure to the hacker, in which XXXX was the one at fault, not us customers.
4. Problem still unresolved Now I received their full credit report, but still notice lots of wrong information recorded on the report which are not relevant to me at all ( wrong former name, non-existing accounts opened by me, invalid credit inquiries, etc ). I proactively contacted the banks I don't think I have any accounts with, but was reported by XXXX, and got proof from them those accounts don't exist. Therefore, I believe ( a ) my credit profile was screwed up by XXXX entirely ; ( b ) XXXX didn't demonstrate well attitude on supporting me getting this cleared up. I got tired calling XXXX again and again. I'd like to come here for additional help from you.

Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Complaint: Chase loan is indicated on XXXX and XXXX credit reports but its 11 years old. There is also the following comment : skip and trace. Chase wrote off loan and I paid taxes on it in 2012 and never pursued me. Loan should be deleted if I can't pay it back. I communicates this to them but nothing changed. This is ridiculous.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: I'm trying to dispute a few purchases on my credit card that I never made. The transactions are from a recent trip to Puerto Rico, so I'm sure I'm not the first American citizen to be a victim of this fraud. I already called Chase Bank and spoke with three different representatives, but none of them have been helpful.

Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Complaint: I started an auto loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, but because I was getting married and wanted to have the same bank account as my husband I decided to transfer the car loan to Chase in XXXX.
The process to transfer the loan went smoothly at first, while I was working with my local branch. However between me transferring the loan and XX/XX/XXXX I received documents in the mail six times from Chase saying they were unable to access the lien to my car and that they needed me to re-sign ( and get notarized ) a document and send it back into them. I preformed this task six times. Each time taking the form to my local Chase branch and having a banker notarize the form for me.
On XX/XX/XXXX my husband and I were XXXX by a XXXX XXXX who also happened to be uninsured. My car was completely totaled and I have been working with my insurance agency to receive payment for the loan. I currently owe {$2100.00} on my loan at Chase, which I informed XXXX who has attempted to work with Chase to pay off the loan.
I have since figured out that Chase still hasn't acquired the lien on the car. I have called their customer service line multiple times trying to come up with a solution. XXXX can not pay me the remaining {$6000.00} some I'm owed on the car until they receive a clean title from Chase. At this point I have been lied to multiple times as to when I they would provide XXXX the title. The latest lie I was told was that they would have everything sorted by XX/XX/XXXX. I logged onto my portal on XX/XX/XXXX, saw the car had been paid off and thought maybe they finally got things figured out. I also noticed that they also took my XXXX car payment while also taking the full amount from XXXX. Meaning Chase has now charged two people for my XXXX auto payment.
I called XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX to make sure they were given a clean title from Chase. I was informed by XXXX that Chase had been told by them that they were cancelling the car check ( since they were unsure of what was going on ), but Chase had went ahead and cashed the check anyway. So Chase cashed the check without providing any sort of title to XXXX.
I am still unable to get paid from XXXX the {$6000.00} some I am owed until Chase provides them with payment. Meaning that I have been out of a car since XX/XX/XXXX, and can not afford to go get another one until I receive what I'm rightfully owed.
I will add that I am on the verge of buying a house and was just about to start shopping for house loans and Chase is no longer in the running. I have mentioned this fact to multiple costumer service agents who have not cared in the slightest. So as soon as I get my money I will be closing all accounts with Chase and doing business elsewhere. It should not be that hard to treat your customers with dignity and respect, and I have received none of that during this very difficult time. This process has deeply effected the well being of my person life.

Problem making or receiving payments
Complaint: Recently CHASE has been doing the most unscrupulous banking tactics that are both unconscionable and unacceptable.
CHASE has been paying ACH and outstanding checks - as they have done repeatedly, setting past precedence, since my bi-weekly payroll deposits are consistently done.
However, recently, CHASE has allowed ACH and checks to pay, only to reverse and send back, causing unnecessary charges on both sides.
This has cost me astronomical charges in the hundreds of dollars!!

Complaint: On Saturday XX/XX/XXXX, my debit card was charged at a Chase ATM 4 times for an amount of {$200.00} each for a total of {$800.00} between XXXX and XXXX. The bank was able to reimburse this money back to my account. Shortly after the atm withdrawals, on the same day in the afternoon, the XXXX down the street fraudulently charged my debit card {$750.00} through XXXX XXXX. Chase hasnt reimbursed the XXXX charge. The XXXX is # XXXX XXXX XXXX in NJ. The phone number is XXXX. The manager was able to confirm the person who came in and made the transaction did not match my description and is caught on camera. I was told the footage is still available. I was at XXXX of XXXX in New York at the time.
I stopped the debit card on Saturday, XX/XX/XXXX. Chase sent me a new debit card in the mail. On Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, I had not received the card yet. It was compromised and a charge of around {$3000.00} tried to go through. Since I didnt activate the card, it did not go through. Chase canceled that card and then issued me another one. On Wednesday XXXX, Chase claimed the account had been compromised and shut it down. They gave me a new account.
I have called and had Chase relook into to the XXXX claim several times. After the 3rd time, Chase told me the case is officially closed. After they told me the case is officially closed, Chase suggested I call XXXX. It had been several weeks in at that point. The XXXX was helpful, but they would need Chase to contact their loss prevention office to reimburse me the money.
I went to my physical Chase branch location since I had not received an explanation as to why my claim was denied. A letter was sent in the mail saying, Here are the notes we have in our system : Transaction conducted within customer geographical location. Lack of Digit wallet security care.
Shortly after, I filed a report with the police.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: I advised Chase of the billing error for goods and services not received. Chase refused to file a claim and said I had to call back another day. Per Reg Z a financial institution can be notified in writing, mail, or by phone and the institution must start investigating the billing error once notified.
Call to chase took place on XX/XX/2019. Representative said he would simply notate account. I asked when funds would be credited to account, and he ignored the question and ended the call.

Problem using a debit or ATM card
Complaint: I paid for a money transfer service at XXXX for {$2400.00} which I was denied after customer service rep realized that we had no valid ID. But the money was already taken off my card.
She advised me to contact my bank because she had reversed the transaction back to my bank and they had to decide when the money would be put back onto my debit card.
My bank advised me to do a claim for the transaction and gave me a claim number # XXXX. They said the money would be available to me within 24 hours.
The next day they said the claim was denied and I would have to provide the refund/reversal receipt that XXXX gave me. I faxed over the receipt immediately and waited till the next day.
The next day I went into the branch and I was informed that my account was being closed, and they could not offer any reason why.

Complaint: For the last 16 months I have been receiving unsolicited marketing email from JP Morgan Chase ( JPMC ) and a third party company called XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ), which is financed by JMPC. Despite repeatedly requesting by phone and by email not to be contacted with non account related email, I continue to receive marketing offers inviting me to " save money on my mortgage '' and " download the app ''. As an XXXX XXXX with experience in digital financial products I can confidently attest to the fact that the content of these emails is only pretextually related to my mortgage and it is marketing garbage. What is especially concerning is that JPMC has passed on personal, private information about myself and my mortgage, including email, interest rate and mortgage balance to XXXX. I am appalled at their disregard of my privacy.

Other problem
Complaint: Chase bank changed my credit limit on my Chase Freedom credit card without first notifying me. I have had the card for over a decade and never had my credit limit automatically changed. Upon talking to them via phone they said I had opted in for the service and notified me on my statement, however I : 1 ) was never told or opted in for this service and 2 ) find the credit limit notification intentionally misleading as it is in small font on page 3 of my statement, was vague in nature and did not compare the change to my previous credit limit. Chase regularly sends me general and secure e-mails about my account regarding both spending and term changes, however I never received this important notice about a change in credit limit. As a result, I see this predatory in nature and believe that Chase purposefully hid this change from me. I only learned of this credit limit increase through an independent watchdog service.

Transaction was not authorized
Complaint: I had noticed on XX/XX/XXXX I received a notice from Chase Bank that I was overdrawn on my account. I immediately called them because I just had my Direct Deposit that day and knew I had no outstanding charges. I looked at my account only to see there were 2 {$590.00} charges to my account from XXXX. I called and spoke with a CSR where he looked at my account and seen a {$1.00} charge in XXXX that I was not even aware of from XXXX. I told him I am calling about my account being completely depleted due to this and wanted my money back. He asked if I want to stop payment and it would be a charge. I told him I had an alert on my account and informed Chase multiple times do not accept payments from XXXX because this happened before and I do not have an account with XXXX. The CSR assured me my fund would be in my account in 12 hours. I checked my account and no funds were put back. I called again and spoke with another CSR who informed me my 2 Charges of {$590.00} were denied because another claim was opened same day for {$1.00} and they only allow 1 claim every 60 days. I told him I did not file a claim for {$1.00}. He stated he would fix it and my money would be refunded in 12 hours he advised me to close the account. Next day I enter a bank only to find the money still has not been returned. The Employee at the bank informed me MULTIPLE people were in the past 5 days complaining their accounts were compromised. She shared that her account was compromised and promised my money would be returned in 12 hours. Again NOTHING. I contact the Executives of the company to have a XXXX who is an Executive CSR call me blaming me for my fund not being secured and If didn't give my email out. I don't even shop on line. She suggested we conference XXXX on a call, I agreed. Immediately she asked how can Ms. XXXX secure her account with you, by changing her email. The XXXX rep did a search for me and stated, SHE DOES NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH US. I then asked, with the {$1.00} charge in March is that the Thief making an attempt to see if the bank will allow them access to my account, HE said YES. I then asked is this a Bank Security Issue, HE said YES. XXXX was very quiet after that. CHASE BANK Still will not return my funds, I just received an email stating I have a temporary refund of {$1.00} the fund the 1st CSR filed that I did not know about nor Authorize. I am now getting Penalized on bills not paid. CHASE refuses to refund my money even though it has been shown it was their errors and system that was compromised.

Charged too much interest
Complaint: JP Morgan Chase defrauds credit card customers with hidden interest rate charges related to zero interest loans.
Situation : Earlier this year I borrowed a zero percent credit card loan from my JP Morgan Chase Credit Card. Later I found I was being charged interest of 17.49 % p.a. on purchases, but on what amount of purchases? It was not disclosed on the credit card statement. After telephone calls with Chase, I found that the only way to determine the purchase amount was to subtract the zero interest loan balance from the credit card balance as shown on the statement, but the zero interest loan balance was also not shown on the credit card statement. In June I had to speak with a Chase credit card representative to find out the zero interest loan balance.
I spoke with representatives twice. The first explanation of the interest charges was vague, confusing and incorrect. The second was correct. I was told the amount of the loan balance and the method to eliminate the interest charges : sequentially first pay off the minimum amount due ( {$140.00} in my case ), then separately pay off the purchases ( {$220.00} in my case ), calculated as follows : Amount Source Credit Card Balance {$14000.00} Credit Card Statement ( Exhibit 1 ) Less Zero Interest Loan {$14000.00} Chase Representative ( by Phone ) Purchases {$220.00} My Calculation on which 17.49 % Interest is to be Charged Interest Charges {$2.00} Credit Card Statement ( Exhibit 1 ) JP Morgan Chases practices are deceptive and fraudulent, resulting in consumers unknowingly paying punitively high interest charges without knowing how to avoid them. This practice represents another worse in consumer credit card banking, lacking full disclosure and proper transparency.
