Incorrect information on your report

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Account status incorrect
Complaint: At the end of the my lease, there existed over mileage and minor damages to the vehicle. I was in contact with XXXX XXXX in an effort to settle the over mileage and also the damage. I was consistently told by Huyndai that there was no option for a payment plan available to me to cover these excess charges. My only option was that I had to wait until the account was sent to collection in order to make payment arrangements for these charges. I offered to make payments to Hyundai and they refused to accept them unless it was the full amount. I explained that I was not in a position to pay the full amount at that time, but would be able to pay it in full over the course of a period of time. Hyundai said to wait and deal with the collection agency. I waited until I received the information from XXXX XXXX, XXXX, they acting as debt collector for XXXX XXXX XXXX company and at the direction of Huyndai made payment arrangements with me. During all of my conversations with both Hyundai and XXXX XXXX, I repeatedly asked and was told that excess mileage would not be held against me on my credit report. All Lease payments were paid on time and in full. As of today, my credit report has been damaged, My father who was a co-signor on the lease has received a Release of Debt from XXXX on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX See attachment. He received this document after filing his complaint with the CFPB and the information was removed from his credit report. XXXX XXXX, XXXX, should also have sent the same information to me as I was a co-signor/borrower. The payments were paid as outlined by the Collection Agency for the over mileage and excess wear and tear. See attached comments from XXXX outlining all of the dates and payments made. Again I was told this would not appear on my credit report. Hyundai should be correcting my account as their agenct, XXXX XXXX XXXX told me that since this was for excess mileage and damage it would not be reported. If Hyundai had offer any type of payment option at the end of lease for over mileage or excess damage I would have made the payments directly to them. I would ask that my credit report be corrected and all delinquencies from XX/XX/17, XX/XX/17 ; XX/XX/17 ; and XX/XX/17 be removed from all three of the repositories listed under XXXX XXXX XXXX. I would also request that I receive a Release of Debt correspondence from XXXX Collection on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX and also a Release of Debt from XXXX XXXX XXXX as all payments have been paid.

Struggling to pay your loan

Vehicle loan or lease: Loan

Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Complaint: I was out of state traveling and had left my vehicle at my friend XXXX XXXX 'XXXX XXXX complex, XXXX XXXX in XXXX Rhode Island because she was supposed XXXX XXXX me to and from the airport. My XXXX XXXX XXXX was left on private property in the parking lot of her apartment complex. Upon returning on XX/XX/XXXX, my vehicle was no where to be found in the parking lot. I first called the towing company associated with the apartment complex who had no knowledge as to the whereabouts of my car. I spoke to the XXXX of the apartment complex and she had no knowledge of my vehicle being towed. I called the XXXX police department and asked them if they had any records related to my vehicle and they didn't have any information regarding my vehicle. The XXXX police department sent an XXXX to XXXX XXXX apartments to try and further assist me at which point I was advised to fill out a police report stating my car had been stolen and that upon recovery I would like to pursue legal action against anyone found to be involved in my missing car. I called the customer number for Hyundai Motor Finance, the company my vehicle is financed through and they told me that my car was repossessed and gave me the number to the recovery agency. I was out of state at the time my vehicle was repossessed and had made arrangements to pay the total amount due upon returning. I had called Hyundai Motor finance on XX/XX/XXXX to get the total amount due from the automated phoneline in order to XXXX the total amount due upon returning. I never received anything through certified mail stating that my car was going to be repossessed which according to the state laws in Rhode Island and Massachusetts is a legal requirement prior to repossessing a vehicle to let the person responsible for the auto loan know the vehicle is going to be repossessed prior to the vehicle actually being repossessed. According to the state laws in Rhode Island XXXX The city/town police department in which a vehicle is going to be repossessed from must be notified prior to the repossession of said vehicle. The XXXX Police department had know prior knowledge of my vehicle being repossessed the date of XX/XX/XXXX, nor the date of XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX, or XXXX of XXXX. The Rhode Island Recover company in XXXX Rhode Island did not do their due diligence in taking proper action required prior to recovering my XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX of XXXX. The Rhode Island XXXX company that repossessed my vehicle for Hyundai Motor Finance also illegally took my car from private property which according to the state laws regarding repossession of a vehicle in the state of Rhode Island XXXX is illegal action. Therefore, I wish to formally file a complaint against Hyundai Motor Finance for wrongful repossession of a vehicle without proper notification prior to repossession, and also with the company associated with the illegal repossession of my vehicle for not taking the proper and legal steps prior to the recovery of a vehicle for a financial company.

Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finish
Complaint: I had never turned in a lease before. I contact XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX to ask questions about the process. They told me to have my car inspected in advance of turn-in in case there was anything beyond wear and tear I wanted to fix. I did that. They booked it, the inspector came out. On my 2 vehicles He found : 1 Scratched Rim, 1 chipped windshield, and hail damage. I told him it was acorns and that the charge for hail is extreme, but he said its all the same. So I decided Id get the acorn damage fixed to avoid the {$470.00} charge. I asked the dealership I was getting my next lease from if they had anyone theyd recommend. They gave me the contact of the guys they use for dent repair. The gentleman quoted me {$250.00}. He asked to be paid in cash but provided me the invoice/receipt as promised and did a spectacular job. I photographed the flawless car. When my end of lease bill came, I called XXXX XXXX and paid everything except for the acorn/hail charge. Both cars disposition fees, and the rim and windshield fees. I followed instructions and emailed my receipt and photos of the repair. They told me to expect the balance to settle after a brief review period. Instead I received a text notifying me that Im delinquent. So I called and they explained that the invoice I sent was not sufficient because a portion was written in. I contacted the repair guy and he said this is how we do it. We write in your vin, your price and your repair. So I called XXXX again and they said we cant tell this is a legitimate business. Do you have a business card, contact information? To compare to whats on the invoice? I did, I sent that too. Then XXXX said theyd call me if they had any issue. They didnt call but a couple weeks later ( mid XXXX now ) I got another delinquency text. So I called them. I was told that theyd investigate the reason the balance was still there and get back to me. When they did, they said they need to contact the repair guy and verify he has a real business and really did the repair ( my pictures were high resolution and showed that, but they wouldnt accept that ) and that if they were satisfied theyd close out the balance. If not, theyd call. They didnt. But two weeks later another text. So I call them again. In tears. What more do you need? What more can I do? They said if we dont have a credit card or debit receipt, we can not consider it repaired and clear the balance. Despite all my advanced calls asking for any and all requirements, they never once said that repairs must be paid for in cash. Never. They now are telling me to pay the balance or go to collections. The car has no damage, none. Its beautiful. But they say they have no way of knowing that. I have already paid {$250.00} to repair the dings, I can not paid {$470.00} on top of the {$250.00} ... that was paid to alleviate the {$470.00} in the first place. Further, I sent all my text messages dating back to my first interactions with the repair guy, I sent them his request for cash, everything I can think of, Ive done. Please help me!!

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account information incorrect
Complaint: After turning in my lease early in XXXX of XXXX, Hyundai Motor Finance sent me an invoice stating that I owed {$1700.00}. I was under the impression that the dealership was charging me fees for terminating my lease early ( when in fact they solicited me to turn my lease in and swap for a newer model ). I went to the dealership, as well as called HMF, and after much frustration saw no resolution. Eventually they sent the bill to collections and it appears on my report as " charged off as bad debt ''. I filed a complaint with cfpb and they responded stating that I owed the money for terminating my lease early and have yet to pay the amount owed. As previously stated, I was solicited by the dealership and called on multiple occasions for the opportunity to turn my lease in early. Therefore, I knew that these charges were not valid. I decided to take the issue to small claims court. I was to sue XXXX XXXX AND Hyundai Motor Finance due to the fact that I was not aware of which party was at fault. Neither party showed up to court on the day of the trial and that was when I set a new date and contacted a lawyer. A lawyer from XXXX XXXX called me, and I had my lawyer call him back. After investigating, it was discovered that XXXX XXXX sent Hyundai Motor Finance a check that was to cover my remaining payment. This check was dated XX/XX/XXXX. This amount was NEVER applied to my account. The actual total that I owed was {$570.00}. For a whole year I was back and forth with the dealership AND HMF and not one person could catch this error or explain what the issue was. I even asked for a new invoice in XX/XX/XXXX, and this amount had still not been applied. So, I have a negative remark on my credit report for an amount of money that I was not responsible for. I need Hyundai Motor Finance to have this negative remark removed from my credit report immediately. I was not responsible for this bill that was sent to me and I looked for help and an explanation, wasted time, energy, and money going to court, and received no help from either the dealership or Hyundai Motor Finance. It was only when I had a lawyer contact them that I saw any progress. This item must be removed as soon as possible, for I am hoping to purchase a residence in the near future. Thank you in advance for your help regarding this matter.

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account status incorrect
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX reported my auto loan as being in a charged off status to the credit bureaus! When in fact my account is and was current and actually due for the XX/XX/XXXX payment at that time. I called XXXX right away when my mortgage company advised me of this on XX/XX/XXXX. The representative opened a claim for me, stated they fixed the error and that this was their mistake. Today, XX/XX/XXXX myself and my mortgage representative called to see if we could get a letter of resolve and the representative told us that they had no record of my call and no claim was ever filed! We were then transferred to a supervisor. At this point the supervisor stated that the account was current and they would start a dispute with the credit bureaus to fix this but it would take up to 45 days to be corrected. I told them that I was set to close on XX/XX/XXXX and that this was not acceptable, especially since this was their error. She stated that they could not provide any type of letter confirming the mistake and that the account was not charged off and current. This is going to cost me my home and my deposit if I do not have this corrected by the XX/XX/XXXX ( 24 hours prior to closing ). The builder stated I would be in breach of my contract. I am only in breach because of this horrible error that XXXX has made and will not fix promptly.

Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finish
Complaint: I leased a car through XXXX XXXX and terminated the lease early when I leased a new car. I received an invoice from XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2018 that had numerous errors and omissions. I detailed these in a letter of XX/XX/18. Among these errors is an " excess wear and use '' charge of {$1000.00}. Since I purchased an " Excess Wear and Tear Protection '' policy through the dealership and with XXXX XXXX I requested a claim form from the rep ( XXXX ) on XX/XX/18. The promised claim form never was received. Instead a copy of the AIM Inspection Report was sent. I faxed this report along with a claim to XXXX XXXX. I received a call from XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/18 demanding payment in full by XX/XX/18 or they will send the bill to collection and threatened my credit score. I told them that I filed a claim as directed with XXXX XXXX and it's up to them to work out the details. I was informed that XXXX XXXX " ... does not deal with third parties '' and it is my responsibility to settle the bill even though I still consider it to have numerous errors. I do not intend to satisfy this bill until it is correct.

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account status incorrect
Complaint: Hello, We are writing you all as very frustrated customers of Hyundai Motor Finance ( Also known as 'Hyundai Capital America ' ). On XX/XX/2018 I ( XXXX XXXX ) made several call to your customer service department regarding making a payment on my account. At the time I had a total balance due of {$510.00} which included my monthly payment plus late fees. I spoke to the representative on the phone and she informed me all I had to at least pay my normal monthly payment of {$490.00} and I could pay the late fees with my next month bill. Never was I told that if I did no pay the extra {$18.00} that I would still be considered past due. Well, because I was given inaccurate information I carried a balance into XX/XX/XXXX and it was reported on our credit report as 30 days late. This is very upsetting to us because if we were aware of the consequences of paying {$18.00} short we would've made a full payment at that time. Now, our credit scores have dropped drastically and it could prevent us on purchasing our first home next month. We are writing you all to see if there is anything that can be done and this negative reporting be corrected. We do not think it is fair that we are being punished because of an employee error. Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Auto debt

Complaint: I was in an accident which was not my fault in XXXX. I just took out loans on a brand new XXXX XXXX XXXX. We did not even have the vehicle for a month. No one notified us we had any outstanding balance until XX/XX/2018. We were told from XXXX XXXX that it was taken care of in full, we owed nothing. We contacted XXXX in XXXX, MA and they said they would take care of it. We heard nothing until XXXX from a notice dated XX/XX/2018 claiming we still owed XXXX. I asked them WHY and if they could send an invoice. They claimed they can not tell us WHY. So WHY should we pay a bill that we can not see WHAT we are being charged for? I called the dealership and the " manager '' said that the VIN number was wrong. She refused to also tell us WHAT the bill was for. I feel this is illegal especially because we do not know WHAT or WHY we are being billed this amount. They are threatening to take action if we do not pay this amount within 10 days. We do not have the money to pay it at the moment, and we were told we owed nothing by the other person that works at the dealership and he would take care of it.

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finish
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I timely returned a leased vehicle to the XXXX Dealership in XXXX, CA ( " Car Pros '' ). The vehicle was XXXX miles UNDER the contractual maximum. An onsite inspection was performed at the direction of XXXX XXXX [ last name omitted ] during which they took the vehicle into their repair/maintenance section for approximately 30 minutes. Mr. [ last name omitted ] returned to me with a " Vehicle Return Receipt, '' which lists the mileage and date of return. We both signed it. He verbally stated the vehicle looks fine, and that they were going to ship it off " for auction. '' As the car was XXXX miles under the allowance, and there were no defects, damage, or noticeable wear given the low mileage, there was no discussion at all about " excessive wear and use. '' In any event, the car DID NOT have " excessive wear or use. '' On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX, which has offices in CA and TX, which states " This is an attempt to collect a debt, '' demanding {$480.00} for excessive wear and use. XXXX offered no accounting or evidence of the alleged " excessive '' wear or use. And, as XXXX has had the vehicle in their possession for several weeks, I now have no means to inspect the vehicle myself. I find the practice of accepting a vehicle return, doing an inspection at the dealership, providing the return receipt with no mention of a further inspection or evaluation, and then sending a bill for {$480.00} for " excessive use '' to be extremely unfair and vulnerable to fraud and abuse. The consumer is completely at the mercy of the anonymous and unchecked leasing company, which obviously has an interest in charging fees. I am predicting there are other consumers who have encountered this problem. I called the XXXX # on the debt collection letter XXXX same as above ), and entered the last four digits of my SS # as requested, and then a recording says " this is an attempt to collect a debt and any information you provide will be used ... '' Eventually a recording told me to call back. I have not yet called back that XXXX # number.
