Complaint: This is added to complaint number XXXX. Evidently, someone changed my overdraft protection which caused a alleged NSF ( not sufficient funds ). This caused a major problem but I still have n't received notice of this. I do n't believe in consequence, Someone from the IRS at the last minute to deny my tax refund due to the four years use of the Hope Credit. The problem is that I never used the Hope Credit because it does n't apply to me. Due to the NSF my check for rent was n't accepted for XXXX XXXX XXXX and suddenly under time they want to remove me even with funds available. I do n't believe that this fraud can be just happening and you still have n't received an answer from Huntington Bank.

Complaint: I used my debit card to hold a hotel room on Friday XXXX XXXX, 2016. I made the reservation around XXXX and XXXX I called to cancel the reservation because of bad weather. We were on a motorcycle and we had to get off the road due to a tropical storm. I called the hotel and hotel.com to cancel. The attendant at the hotel said to call XXXX and let them know. I confirmed that they canceled my reservation and immediately called XXXX. I got a confirmation number and I thought that was the end of the reservation. They still took the money out of my account.

Complaint: I had a line of credit with a local Ohio bank. I paid it off about eight months ago. The current balance is XXXX. Now I am refinancing my home mortgage with a different bank. They are saying that the bank with the line of credit needs to be paid {$350.00} for closing the account ( they have a lien on the house even though I do n't owe anything ). I never was told about such a fee at the start of this line of credit ( which I used as a second mortgage ). Normally commercial banks do not charge anything for closing an account. Is this legitimate?

Complaint: On XX/XX/2016 at around XXXX I attempted to make a deposit of of {$380.00} in cash and a {$90.00} check for a total of {$470.00} at the XXXX 's Huntington Kiosk inside XXXX XXXX in XXXX Ohio. I counted my cash three times before I handed it to the teller who did n't count it in front of me and proceeded to put it in the bill counting machine, which I 've now since learned is called the discriminator. I told the teller the amount I was depositing before he took it to the discriminator. To my dismay and concern he came back insisting I had made a deposit of {$120.00} less than the amount I had referenced. I was incredulous. However, my ire was n't raised until the second banker came over and said he was there to help me. Instead of asking me what my experience was or listening to it, he simply reiterated what the other teller had said and insisted that while he may have dropped a bill or XXXX it was impossible to drop more. He looked down at the floor as he said this. At no time did either try to get my side of the story, or offer to count down the drawer. Instead they both repeated the amount that they insist the discriminator counted. I said that I would never return to this bank branch and that I would go ahead and withdraw my funds and put them in a credit union, as many I knew were doing this. At this point the teller insisted I leave and pointed his finger at me to do so. the next Tuesday morning I went to my Huntington branch and I filled a grievance and was told that now they are discouraged from counting cash back in front of you as it takes too long. I was not offered the possibility of making a report. I had to suggest it and then insist. While the teller was very helpful with the details and did finally ask for descriptions of both tellers, initially he seemed reticent to take the report. I see this as a warning to anyone who intends to deposit it this branch. I believe the XXXX tellers were running a scam at the point of deposit and believe they played on my weak spots to make me question what happened. I was also incredibly concerned at the less then concerned response I was initially met with at the branch banks as well.

I had a vehicle loan with Huntington Bank starting XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and chose to list it as Exempt Property on XXXX and to Retain and Pay on the Debtor 's Statement of Intention. I continued to pay and they accepted regular monthly payments until I paid it in full XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, 24 months early. They continue to list my vehicle as " Debt Included in Chapter XXXX Bankruptcy '' and " Discharged through Bankruptcy Chapter XXXX '' although it was n't and was paid in full.

Complaint: In XXXX, I had a contractor come out to the house to give me a quote on fixing the roof. We had some damage to the ceiling, and wanted the roof fixed before having the interior fixed. After examining the roof, the contractor said we needed a whole new roof and recommended we file an insurance claim since the damage had caused by weather. I filed a claim with my insurance company, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and had the contractor schedule us for the new roof, since we did not want to take the chance of further damage to the interior. XXXX XXXX processed our claim quickly, dispatched an adjuster, and processed the claim. In the meantime, our contractor put on a new roof. When the claims check arrived, in addition to me, the check was also made out to XXXX XXXX XXXX and Huntington Mortgage, the lenders. I understand why they were included. XXXX XXXX XXXX was most gracious and was quickly able to arrange for endorsement of the check. Huntington, quite simple, is terrible. When I called, I was told they had MAIL me a packet of information that I had to complete, and that would take 7 days for me to receive. It actually took XXXX. What I received was a letter telling me they were n't going to pay for the roof ( WHAT? ) along with instructions to MAIL the insurance check, unendorsed, something else, and an affadavit that was supposed to be enclosed ( it was n't ). I immediate called them and, of course, got no one and had to leave a message. I 'm sure it will be next week if anyone returns my call at all. Surely, there must be, if not a law at least a rule against a bank holding my claims check hostage?

Complaint: This is a continuance of complaint number XXXX. Huntington Bank has never responded to my account complaint of monies being removed from my account first via unwarranted late fees now by duplicating previous charges made on my account and removing money that way. On XXXX/XXXX/2016 I check my account it had at that point $ XXXX.+ in it. The next day todayXX/XX/2016 it now has {$1400.00}. I have n't made any purchased and items from another day the entire charges made on XXXX/XXXX/2016 are false. This is a continued effort from what can only be a criminal group which keeps removing monies from my account and for some reason i ca n't get the bank or CFPB to get Huntington to do a complete audit just like I could n't get XXXX XXXX XXXX to do likewise when clearly monies was being removed from my account. This clearly is some type of criminal organization as I have a tax refund of {$990.00} from the IRS but without any explanation they keep stating I used the Hope credit which I clearly have n't and audited me. I used the company XXXX which when audited they represent you but for some reason they did n't even though they pretended to do so and had everything they need to show audit is incorrect. Money is being stolen from me and even though I write, complain and refer the acts to organizations like CFPB, FTC, etc. nothing gets done until years later the news reports what I reported years earlier.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2016 we received a past due notice from Huntington National bank XXXX, Ohio concerning our car loan account # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Because we pride ourselves with prompt payment and meticulous records we knew that we had not missed or been late on a payment. Upon calling the bank { ( XXXX ) XXXX } I got the sense that they are as certain that we had made a late or missed a payment as we were that we had not. Here 's what happened. Upon review of our records and checking with our bank we discovered, as the attached ledger sheet shows, that we had issued a check ( # XXXX ) of {$230.00} on XXXX/XXXX/2016 for the XXXX/XXXX/2016 payment. You will notice that there is a check mark beside the amount XXXX to last column on the right side of the ledger sheet which indicates if a check has been cashed. This ledger entry is highlighted in yellow. There is no check mark beside the car payment and our bank ( XXXX ) confirms that it was not cashed. Also enclosed is a scan of the depleted coupon payment book for that account with XXXX shown as detached indicating that it had been sent. We canceled payment on check # XXXX, at personal expense, yesterday XXXX XXXX, 2016. We realize that we still owe the XXXX payment and are prepared to reissue payment ; however it concerns us greatly that this check was lost or misplaced and not applied to our XXXX payment and Huntington National bank has just now, in XXXX, discovered that fact and sent us a late fee demand and will report it to credit agencies.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2016 I took a check made payable to my order in the sum of {$54000.00} to my local branch of Huntington Bank in XXXX Ohio. I asked to deposit {$50000.00} into my checking account and to receive the {$410.00} back in cash. I received a receipt for the deposit and the cash in the amount requested. The employee counted the money and I counted it again to make sure it was correct. On XXXX XXXX, 2016, while reviewing my online records with the bank I discovered that they had debited my account on XXXX XXXX, 2016 for {$100.00} for " miscellaneous. '' I immediately contacted the bank and they told me that the check had been incorrectly coded by them for {$54000.00}. I asked to see that incorrect coding and they indicated it was not available. I asked to see proof that I had received an unauthorized {$100.00} and they had no proof. The employee may have intentionally or negligently incorrectly coded the check, but that is not my problem. Ninety days after the check was deposited and negotiated, the Huntington Bank, without notice to me and without authorization and without proof, extracted and debited {$100.00} from my account. The bank now refuses to put the money back. I have no idea what the bank is doing with " coding '' but I do know that I received a total from the check, of {$54000.00}. A bank can not simply break into an account and steal {$100.00}. The local bank and the home office advised me that they did not do an internal investigation to determine what happened to the {$100.00}. I have now begun to withdraw my accounts and investments from this bank, as I have lost confidence in their integrity. If they have proof that I received {$100.00} I was not entitled to, they need to produce that.
