Complaint: I tried to open a checking account at Huntington Bank in XXXX, Ohio. I was given a adverse action letter that stated I was unable to open an account. When I asked the bank representative why? He could not give me an answer. He told me to refer to my credit report. When I looked at all three of my credit reports I did not see any derogatory information ( no liens, no judgments, etc. ) I contacted XXXX to see if there was any outstanding balances owed or if any derogatory information existed and I was told there was n't. Given this information, I went back to Huntington to inquire further and I was told from the bank representative to contact XXXX XXXX as this is the third party they use when deciding if an account can be opened. When I contacted XXXX XXXX to see what was on the report that would hinder me from opening an account the representative, XXXX, stated she did n't see anything that would spark any red flags and was willing to contact the bank on my behalf. She sent the full report to me and I emailed it to the District Manager to see if an override could be set in place based on the lack of evidence as to why I was unable to open an account. She still declined the override after I provided her a copy of my credit report, the chexsystems report, contacted her with the representative from XXXX XXXX on the phone, and the emailed report from XXXX XXXX which ALL did not show a reason as to why I would 've been declined. I also provided the district manager with my existing account number at Huntington as I already have an account there and was simply attempting to open a separate account for convenience. To date, I have not been given an answer as to why the account was denied. No one can tell me why the system automatically declined my request nor was the district manager willing to research the issue. As a consumer, I have a right to know why I am being denied access to a checking account. I have done my due diligence to figure out why the account was being declined, but everything I researched showed there should be no problem. Reaching out to the CFPB was my last attempt in trying to figure out why this problem exist.

Complaint: Huntington bank has been offering money to open a checking account. I opened an account online with them and linked my Credit Union account after they verified XXXX deposits and XXXX withdraw. I then sent {$1200.00} to my new Huntington account to meet their requirements. After they withdrew the money from my Credit Union, they did not deposit it into my new account, now the money is missing ... it is in neither account. They tell me three days before anything happens. This is a ruse ... where is my money? How many others are they doing this too and using patrons money in a slush fund. This is XX/XX/2017 and transfers are immediate, where is my money? I have been at my credit union for over 30 years and my credit score is over XXXX. Why is Huntington bank doing this to me?

Complaint: I 've had an on going problem with my checking account recently. First off, I had trouble with my insurance lady to try and cancel my auto payments. She said she did, she did not. Payment still went through, overdrew my account. I filed a dispute and instead of the insurance company putting the money back in my account, they sent me a check. In the mean time, the bank just kept racking up the overdraft fees after saying they all would be taken care of after the dispute. Now, weeks later I am still without a bank. Negative over XXXX in overdraft fees which I ca n't pay and when I call to explain, they ask if there 's anything I can do about that? I filed a dispute. They said they never got forms which I never got In the mail and closed my case. I went into the back and talked to a guy and he faxed a new case over, they mailed it back to me to fill out my account number, and send it back so I did that. Then I get a letter saying they never got the form again and closed my case again. Please help. I do really like Huntington bank. Now that the locations have more than doubled it 's been more than convenient. And if they close my account, it will be more than inconvenience to find a new bank. Thank you for your time.
