Complaint: I initiated a bank to bank transfer into my Huntington Bank Checking account from my XXXX XXXX XXXX account for {$15000.00}. On XX/XX/2017, Huntington Bank rejected the transfer because my Credit Union account has my middle initial on it and my Huntington account does not. I was told by Huntington Bank that this happens all the time. The funds were pulled from my Credit Union to Huntington Bank in less than 24 hours. Huntington Bank tells me they rejected the transfer but will not return the funds for 3 business days while the transfer is being investigated. Huntington Bank is holding my transferred funds while not making the funds available to me. I spoke with CSR XXXX and supervisor XXXX on XX/XX/2017 and both explained that there is nothing they can do to assist me with this issue.

Complaint: This is a formal complaint against Hunting Bank. The facts following are true. XXXX 2016 I received a phone call from XXXX XXXX who is a loan officer for Hunting Bank. I had a Mortgage at that time with Huntington Bank. XXXX XXXX explained that he can offer 2.8 percent and save me XXXX $ per month on my current house payment. I made it very clear that I would not borrow any more than what I owe currently. XXXX XXXX said I will need to bring about XXXX $ to the table for closing cost and pay XXXX $ for a new appraisal.
XXXX 2016 I met with XXXX XXXX he showed rough figures of what the loan would look like. The numbers were about XXXX $ higher. When I questioned XXXX XXXX he said " Do n't worry I had to show higher numbers to show you are not bringing any money to the table at close. The true number will be changed to only what you currently owe at time of closing.
I was informed by XXXX XXXX that the closing date will be XXXX XXXX 2016. On XXXX XXXX I received a phone call from a lady who said she was calling to let me know that she had received an email from XXXX XXXX stating the closing was cancelled for Monday. She said I am letting you know XXXX XXXX because you were not included in the email from XXXX XXXX and I did not want you to show up.
I sent an email Monday morning to XXXX XXXX inquiring why? XXXX XXXX responded and said it was moved until the next day XXXX XXXX same place same time.
On XXXX XXXX I showed up at XXXX at Huntington Bank this female was there and said she was the notarize person. She called XXXX XXXX XXXX and asked where are you? I could hear XXXX XXXX say " I was not invited '' She handed me the phone and I explained to XXXX XXXX I did not agree to the figures he had in the mortgage loan papers. XXXX XXXX said " Do n't worry just sign the papers and I will explain them some time later when we can meet '' I told this lady I did not agree to the terms in the loan. She said do n't sign them. I would n't if I were you. I picked up all of the loan papers without signed them and left the Bank.
The refinance loan was for the amount of XXXX $ My current amount I owed Huntington was XXXX . I was charged XXXX in hidden closing cost, points and XXXX $ for the appraisal which I paid cash to XXXX XXXX several months before. That never were revealed to me prior to this date by XXXX XXXX.
When I was on the cell phone on the XXXX I told XXXX XXXX about the XXXX . He said just sign it I will get the XXXX $ back to you. I forgot you paid I do so many loans I forgot. I told him I did not want to finance my scroll in this new loan which was about XXXX . XXXX XXXX said he could not roll my scroll over to this loan. I would be reimbursed.
I went to a different place XXXX XXXX XXXX to refinance with them. This is when I found out that Huntington Bank had closed out my first mortgage and replaced it with the loan I refused to sign.
I received a letter from Huntington Bank showing a release of LEIN discharging my XXXX . This letted was notarized and filed with XXXX County register of deeds. And a new LEIN was filled showing the the new loan amount.
After this was brought to the attention of XXXX XXXX ( Head Loan Officer ) and XXXX XXXX ( President of XXXX Huntington Bank ). They said they were sorry and closed out the 2nd loan and reinstated the first loan with in the Bank. Nothing was filed with XXXX county correcting the LEIN.
I hired a Lawyer named XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX Please complete an audit of the loan practices of Huntington Bank.

Complaint: This morning XX/XX/2017 I talk to XXXX, Asst Vice Pres of Huntington National Bank in regards to a complaint I filed with CFPB ( # XXXX ) she threaten to close my debit account for complaining about the 2 bank tellers violating my FERPA, confidentiality of my personal information, and doing an unauthorized credit check and closing out my Amex card. After complaining about the 2 bank tellers, one of the tellers is not at that branch and the other teller is being supervised by new and different personnel from other Huntington National Bank branches. She also suggested I not bank at that branch and that I need to go another branch. I should not be threaten in that matter by a bank employee for matters that are being done against me that are illegal. This matter needs to be investigated.

Complaint: I signed an interest rate lock agreement on XX/XX/2016 for a Conventional XXXX ARM loan at a rate of 2.955 %. The paperwork clearly states the rate lock is good through XX/XX/2016. Also, at this time my loan officer made me believe that we would have to bring around {$10000.00} to closing, which we agreed to. The loan estimate quoted {$17000.00} due at closing, but we gave our builder a {$7500.00} deposit that was to be subtracted from this amount once we had proof of payment. Also, at this time I was lead to believe that shortly after we closed on the ARM, we could lock in a rate for refinancing the ARM to get a 30 year fixed loan ( no mention of additional fees ). This was appealing to me as I was well aware of the ensuing interest rate hike in the very near future. The mortgage officer was aware that we were very pressed for time to close on the loan as the construction of our new home was to begin on XX/XX/2016. If we did n't close on our loan by this time, the construction of our home would have been delayed months because of builders schedules.
The processing of our loan was completed XX/XX/2016 with closing date scheduled for XX/XX/2016 ( 3 days before our the construction was to start ). When I received the closing disclosure form on XX/XX/2016, my rate increased to 3.050 % and the money due at closing increased from {$10000.00} to {$20000.00}. Not only did my locked rate increase, but during the process I was lead to believe that I would get a reduced rate applied at closing because of a partnership my employer has with Huntington ( This was one reason I chose HNB ). Apparently, this offer expired and the loan officer never told me about it, or he never looked into it. I was told the amount at closing increased to {$20000.00} because there were several items we were purchasing independently ( Appliances, lights, front door and grass seed ) and I had to give HNB the $ upfront and they would put it in an escrow account and reimburse me the $ as I purchased the items. Being pressured for time as we could n't delay the start of our home, we reluctantly signed the papers.
When it came time to get reimbursement for items I purchased, HNB told me they could n't reimburse me until the items were installed, which obviously would n't be until near completion of the home. We reached an agreement to get reimbursed upon purchasing items, but then they wanted to charge me a title search fee if I did n't submit for my funds to be reimbursed in line with my builders draws. This tells me there never was an escrow account, but they were holding my funds in their own account.
At one point early in the process I was going to switch to a lender that works directly with my builder. The deceiving loan officer I worked with assured me that HNB does thousands of the construction loans and are very experienced at the process. He also assured me the loan would be completed by our deadline of XX/XX/2016 so I put my trust in him. He was nothing but deceiving through the whole process and confirms why I despise working with folks that work on commission. Not only did HNB make this process a miserable experience for me, but my builder was forced to do things that he said he has never had to do in all of his career. I have every email and document saved from the first day of contact with the loan officer to show how misleading things can be.
I received a check ( {$1400.00} ) from HNB as they claimed fault for overcharging me closing costs. They found this in an audit they performed on my loan, but refused to disclose to me the findings which makes me believe there is much more to it. I received an email from the VP mortgage sales manger on XX/XX/2016 stating they would call me in a week to " try make things right '' and it 's now XX/XX/2016 and no call. Typical of this whole process with HNB.

Complaint: Hello Team, I recently applied for a Huntington bank voice Credit card upon a invitation call from the bank representative in XXXX MI branch.
After i visited the branch and provided all information she went ahead with processing my application. After sometime she came back to me stating my application is rejected as I am not a US citizen.
I have many different credit cards and I have been living here since 3 years on a work visa. I have an excellent credit score.
I want to know : 1 ) Is it legal for banks to reject Credit card application even if the person 's credit score is excellent and has furnished all his documents to bank.
2 ) The bank should clearly mention it in the invitation and advertisement that credit cards are only for US citizens.
This has left me with a shock on why my credit card application was rejected due to citizenship even if I am a tax paying, law abiding person legally living and working in US.
- The bank invited me and processed my application taking my 30 minutes just to answer back that my application is rejected. This is disgusting and very frustrating.
I want your help for the matter to be investigated and proper justification from bank.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2017, I did my banking at the XXXX Huntington Bank of the University of XXXX, at XXXX, my transaction was exactly at XXXX, it consisted of me giving out my name, address, city, state and ID number from one of my debit cards. At XXXX, another debit card of my from a different banking institution was closed out. The bank employees females were XXXX and XXXX. I found out later in the evening from my other banking institution that someone from a bank called and had my account closed. Since XXXX has been working at Huntington Bank she has harassed me and a month ago I had to report her. I know she had something to do with my account being closing she also on several occasions would ask if wanted to deposit my money into my debit account so that she would have access to it. Both of these employees have committed fraud, violated confidentiality laws and violated my FERPA as that this involved my school account at the University of XXXX Huntington Bank in XXXX, both of these employees have been watching me and my accounts for several months. They also did an unauthorized credit check to find out what accounts I had in my name.

Complaint: XXXX forged checks were written against my checking account. The checks were obvious forgeries ( easily spotted ) but were cashed at local branches of the same bank ( Huntington National Bank ) that held my account. The person who committed offense is a known person with a lengthy criminal background. The complaint was filed with my bank and a police report filed. The police detective ( who I have been in contact with ) has had no response from Huntington Bank. Information from Huntington Bank is needed to issue warrant and arrest the perpetrator of crime. I have been told by the police detective that it is very unusual that a bank will not cooperative in pursuing an arrest and conviction in a check fraud case. I was assured by Huntington Bank early on that they would pursue charges and I would be refunded the lost funds. Instead Huntington Bank ( to the best of my knowledge ) has done nothing to assist in investigating and apprehending suspect. Instead they are blaming me for the incident for not having better control of checkbook. As a ~40 year customer of this bank with multiple business and personal accounts over the years, I am very dissatisfied with the lack of integrity and negligence of Huntington National Bank .
