Complaint: I tried to get a credit card with huntington. They told me to get the app because I 'm under XXXX. I got the app and it took me back to the standard huntington automated line. I then asked for customer service and they told me I had the wrong number and transfered me. After being transfered they had me speak to some man in the XXXX that I could barely understand. He proceded to tell me to go online and apply for a credit card and hung up on me. I am furious this needs solved this is unfair to people on their own under the age of XXXX trying to get a head start on life. I have a decent job and all I want to do is build my credit so I 'm better off by the time I 'm in my XXXX 's please help!

Complaint: The bank imposed early payment penalty fee in violation of the loan 's terms. Specifically, the terms specifies that " [ consumer ] agree to pay a prepayment charge if this loan is paid off prior to the final scheduled due date ''. I, the consumer, made early, large payment but did not pay if off totally, as the total amount financed plus all fees and interest, is still larger than my overall payment amount. The bank, however, imposed early payment penalty fee on XX/XX/2014. Following the terms of my installment loan, if the bank considers the aforementioned loan is " paid off '', then I should receive my car title and the loan should be closed. However, I was charged an early payment penalty fee. I have contacted with the bank ( case # XXXX ) several times but the bank refused to follow their loan terms. Therefore, I would like Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection 's assistance in reaching an appropriate solution with the bank.

Complaint: I purchased a set of luggage from an XXXX vendor. I only received one bag instead of the set I ordered. The luggage company says their policy is pay for return shipping when they make a mistake. However they responded saying I had to pay for the return shipping along with an additional fee. I had used my debit card to make the purchase so I began the process of reversing the charges. I explained the entire situation to my Huntington Bank representative and in the end they denied my claim. Now I own single piece of luggage that sells for {$99.00} for which I have a paid {$230.00}.

Complaint: This compliant is in regards to a business credit line for my business XXXX. I currently have an installment loan with this bank with an initial loan for XXXX. I currently owe a balance after XXXX years of {$13000.00} in which I will be paying off as of XX/XX/XXXX because it does not make sense to pay a set amount based on XXXX when the loan is down to XXXX. I have not missed a payment and I am in good standing with the bank and my payments were all current and to date. I have a good credit score per personal in the XXXX 's and business score for my business because I was just recently approved for XXXX approx a month ago in credit card but the bank did not have a credit line product so I applied at Huntington Bank due to I have a relationship with them and a installment loan. I applied for a credit line for XXXX dollars and was told the process would take XXXX hours however after XXXX weeks I called XXXX and he stated that they were backed up on loans and also read the Email back to me stating the underwriting said that If I had a hard time paying off my current loan that would be an issue but which the banker, XXXX must have gotten the information confused that he sent to the underwriter becuase I told him I was paying of the existing loan but I express to the banker, XXXX I am paying off the existing loan but I just wanted to apply for the creadit line to have a credit line available it took XXXX weeks to find out I was denied but did not find out by that banker XXXX but only after calling several other personnel for customer service and branches. I am writing this compliant because I feel I was unfairly denied for a business loan I should have received. These are the following factors : XXXX. This existing loan will be paid off as of XX/XX/XXXX XXXX. I have good personal and business credit XXXX. I have been in business over 15 years XXXX. I have not missed a payment on the loan XXXX and have paid XXXX XXXX years current and in good standing. I feel the banker has dropped the ball and handle this particular banking issue reckessly. Further, I have several other credit lines and have had for over 20 years and all are in good standing. This is the lst time I have encountered a situation where it takes XXXX weeks and still no answer until I call another bank and even they thought it was odd to wait XXXX weeks for a decision. Last, I am writing this compliant due to the banker XXXX not properly conveying my circumstances for receiving a credit line and has in essence blown my chances for a credit line I was suppose to receive based on my currently standing in business and I feel not only a violation for my business but my rights as a business owner. Desired Outcome : My desired out come is to have my case properly conveyed and reviewed so the outcome by the underwriter can be made with proper and correct information and not misinformation.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX 2016, I decided to take advantage of A {$200.00} Huntington Bank promotion for opening up a checking account and depositing {$1000.00} within 60 days. After I successfully competed the application process, part of which was verifying my identity using my Drivers license ID number. The Huntington website then took me through an additional identification process by asking me questions regarding my past. I answered all 4 questions successfully. However, this still did not satisfy the process and I was asked to go into a Huntington Branch with my ID. On XXXX XXXX I walked into the Huntington Branch at XXXX Mi. XXXX. The teller completed my identification request and updated my application. It was approved and my account opened at which time i immediately deposited {$1000.00}. As of XXXX XXXX, 2016 I have not received my {$200.00}. I have contacted Huntington numerous times and they refuse to honor the promotion. They imply that when the teller updated my information it altered the original application to an on sight application. The promotion only honors " online '' applications. That is not my fault and is then a Huntington error. My original application was online. Huntington Bank directed me to go to a branch to complete without any indication doing so would alter the original application. For Huntington to refuse to honor the promotion is insane As for my family military status : there is no code displayed that correctly identifies my Brother : XXXX XXXX, he was special forces and all other information about him is classified.

Complaint: HUNTINGTON BANK - SUMMARY OF EVENTS DATE : Thursday, XX/XX/2016 ADDRESS : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, MI XXXX BRANCH PHONE # : XXXX A check in the amount of {$9000.00} was teller deposited from my XXXX business checking account into my personal checking account at Huntington Bank on Monday, XX/XX/2016 at XXXX On Thursday, XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX I walked into the XXXX XXXX, MI Huntington branch to make a withdrawal of {$9000.00} and was waited on by XXXX XXXX ( younger gentleman XXXX ) and XXXX other bank tellers [ XXXX ] XXXX woman with XXXX who noted to another customer the previous day marked the anniversary of her father 's passing and [ XXXX ] younger woman with XXXX ). XXXX and the XXXX teller initially told me they would be able to cover somewhere from {$3000.00} - {$3500.00} in cash and the rest would have to be made out as a cashier 's check. I asked if there was another branch, which might have the entire amount available to withdraw in cash as I was told by the XXXX women tellers this branch did not normally keep a high cash balance on hand. The XXXX woman called the XXXX branch ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, MI XXXX [ XXXX XXXX ] ) and relayed to me that they had only {$1000.00} or so on hand and that they laughed when she asked them ; she asked if I would be willing to drive out XXXX XXXX XXXX branch ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX XXXX, MI XXXX [ XXXX ] ) as that was a higher cash branch and I said yes, if they had the total amount or an amount closer to the total amount on hand. I asked how much exactly their branch ( XXXX XXXX ) could cover and the XXXX woman teller now said only {$500.00} and that they could call XXXX XXXX ( I did n't ask why the amount changed ). I was asked to have a seat by XXXX while they called, I agreed. XXXX XXXX took my driver 's license and debit card to their branch manager 's office, told me it would just be a few minutes. I waited. After about 20-minutes I was told by XXXX to go into the branch manager 's office, XXXX XXXX ( younger gentleman with XXXX wearing a XXXX Huntington Bank logoed dress shirt and XXXX ). XXXX referred to me as " XXXX '', which seemed kind of unprofessional, and said he would not be able to " make a withdrawal '' for any of the funds to me. I asked why and he, " we have a verification process and I did not get verification '' ; I asked if he called the bank issuing the funds and he repeated, " we have a verification process and I did not get verification '' and that it was his discretion as to whether or not they would release the funds and he decided he would not. I asked again if they called the bank issuing the check, which was coming out of my own business account, and in what manner or by what method/how they " verified '' and he just kept repeating over and over, approximately 15 or so times, that they have a verification process which he would not disclose to me and that they check did not clear. I told him the funds are posted as available in my H.B online banking, which he agreed did post as available online, ( I have a print out of the document ) but they were not available for withdrawal in person. XXXX refused to have a conversation with me about the matter by angrily repeating the same phrase about their verification process over and over. I asked if he could please explain to me how they verified or why the funds were marked as available online or if he would call my bank to verify the funds cleared ; XXXX responded back with the same phrase over and over and asked that I leave the branch. Complaint: I opened a Huntington checking acct because of their 24 hour grace period if your account goes negative and I felt that that really helps me since I really cant afford fees. My account had XXXX in it and I had a check for {$5.00} returned due to insufficient funds and was charged XXXX. If the check would have went thru, my account would have been XXXX, still under the {$5.00} threshold and I would had a deposit coming thru the same day. So what happened to the 24 hour grace period that Huntington says they offer? Does it go away after a certain amount of transactions? Paying almost {$40.00} at this time of the year really put a dent in my pockets. I can see if the transactions were a lot of money, but they were {$5.00} or less. Needless to say, once I get direct deposit switched over, I will be looking for another bank, one that really cares about an average person just trying to make ends meet!

Complaint: Banks have little purpose in the XXXX century which is why they most find creative ways to get people 's money. Most times the weakest and neediest potion of our society. They dont sell an idea or a product and why should they when they can just take peoples money, what a business! I opened what I was told to be a plain old fashioned debit account, no overdraft protection at Huntington bank. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the bank in typical fashion for banks these days did a hard pull on my credit report which is on the same scale of walking into my home and going through my possessions. The hard pull was strictly done in an attempt to issue me a high interest credit card. When opening account the subject of a credit card was never brought up by me, was not asked by me or by the bank, was never mentioned in the conversation whatsoever. The reason the banks continue to do as they please can only be attributed to nothing being done by anyone to eliminate the incentives to do as they please. I can guarantee this, XXXX XXXX will now be on their best behavior. I have read many articles have gone to the Ohio supreme court website to check laws and regulation read the fair credit reporting act and and what Huntington has done to XXXX person ( me ) but likely many, many others seems to be not only a regulatory and compliance issue but likely is a criminal act of at least froud. If I forged or submitted an application for any insurance product without permission would that be ok with everyone? Do we have diferent rules for diferent people? I believe a bank can be fined up to XXXX ( per incident ) plus punitive damages and imprisonment. Huntington told the XXXX they have responded to my complaint but did not, at least as of yet however the response seemed to be in the past tense not future. Huntington bank has not reached out to me, I have communicated with them through a branch manager named XXXX XXXX XXXX OH, and none of my emails have been replied to after XXXX XXXX took this to his boss as he said he would do and I would bet was told to have no further discussion with me, WHY/ WHAT ARE THEY HIDING? I did speak to XXXX XXXX a few times before we where cut off from each other. Im an insurance Agent who works with seniors im not just attempting to be acknowledged only for me but for many poor seniors who have also been victims of these ( best descriptive word ) XXXX. I was reading their contract last night I cant see out it could be a legal contract due to the fact it explains no consumer rights, uses intimidation tactics to keep EVERYONE from suing them and as reading from my side would seem to say Huntington has all the rights and is authoritative as a bank, but the consumer has no rights or rights are taken away if an attack on them is made. Im not an attorney but have read plenty of contracts from insurance companies, though they want to protect themselves they are not telling people its my way or the highway. I dont know how you handle these maters but I requested the paperwork I signed on a credit card app or permission to release personal information to them or anything that disproves conclusively my statement. I have documentation but I want them to step up and either admit wrongdoing or not, either way the result is the same. The guy who opened my account said he pushed the wrong button on his computer as he cowered in his chair. Im busy working and can provide additional info, documentation only if absolutely necessary i prefer to save it for a possible additional step if necessary. I have time but I will expect my time to be paid for due to the unwillingness or the fare of opening XXXX by Huntington bank. As I said I read hundreds of complaints having a cause that is as blatantly wrong as they come is a good thing for me.

This time it 's XXXX transactions totaling {$140.00} I have printed copies of the bank statement real time before they change it in the morning, like they did before, they are able to manipulate balance, erase deposits, shift numbers around so that it would be near impossible to figure out except for a brief period where the double debits show, I submitted printed copies of my bank statement showing transactions debited twice with balance once in pending and once in completed. They will change the numbers around ( meaning removing the pending transactions in the morning ) but will not change double debited balance!
