Complaint: I ordered 2 XXXX XXXX products online from a company named 'XXXX XXXX '. The ad offered that you pay shipping and handling only for {$4.00}. My bank account shows that on XX/XX/XXXX I was charged {$4.00} for 'XXXX XXXX XXXX ' and on XX/XX/XXXX I was charged {$4.00} for 'XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX '. Both of these were taken from my debit card. On Friday, XX/XX/XXXX I went online to check my account and seen that they again charged me {$80.00} for 'XXXX XXXX XXXX ' and {$83.00} for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ' on XX/XX/XXXX. I immediately contacted them. The first person I spoke with told me she 'could not locate ' my account and would call me back. No call came, so 3 hours later I called again and spoke to another individual who found my account immediately and then she advised me that I could not get a refund. She advised that I had 2 weeks to contact them or I would be charged, I knew of no such thing. She hung up on me at some point. I called back 2 more times to try to talk to someone and they both hung up on me. I have filed a dispute with my bank, Huntington Bank - they say it will take 45 to 90 days to get the dispute processed. I am guessing that it may have stated this in very very small print somewhere. But, although that is still wrong - it still was not a full 2 weeks before they pulled money from my account. I have cancelled the card with my bank as well.

Complaint: I took out a loan for {$7500.00} from Huntington National in XXXX 2007 to pay off some credit cards. It was just a regular installment loan, covering 10 years. I did n't realize until the next tax season that it was actually a home equity loan. I never negotiated that. I was mad at first because the interest rate -- I believe around 9 percent -- was way too high for a home equity loan. But I did n't go back and dispute because I was able to write off the interest at tax time. Since the loan is about to mature, I called Huntington about a payoff quote. From the conversations I had, I learned that for nearly 10 years, my automatic payment was being withdrawn on the XXXX of the month, eight days after the due date of the XXXX! I was told they have no record of me agreeing to do this. Since there is a 10-day grace period I entailed no late charges, but I discovered for the last near 10 years I have been paying additional interest eight days each month. So during the 116-month span I 've had the loan, I 've paid additional interest on eight days per month -- a total of 928 days.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: I purchased airline tickets from XXXX XXXX using the website XXXX, along with travel insurance on XX/XX/XXXX. The total purchase amount was {$850.00} ( according to attached record ). The flight was for Fridat, XX/XX/XXXX. Upon getting to XXXX Airport, I was informed that my flight was cancelled and would be rescheduled for the morning of the XX/XX/XXXX. On the morning of XX/XX/XXXX, however, I was informed by XXXX that the flight was again cancelled ( Attached ). I needed to be in XXXX by Sunday night ( XX/XX/XXXX ) for a XXXX XXXX course I was taking. I bought another ticket through a different airline ( XXXX ), and sent a request to XXXX XXXX for a full refund ( attached ). I called and talked with XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, and was informed that I would need to contact XXXX to get a refund, which I did immediately ( attached ). I was then told by XXXX that I would need to contact a representative ( attached ), where I was told that I would need to get a refund from XXXX XXXX directly. At this point it was obvious that I was being sent in circles in order to avoid a refund, so I contacted Huntington Bank Credit Card services to dispute the charge at the end of XX/XX/XXXX ( when I returned from XXXX ), and took all appropriate steps from there, including information similar to that attached available ( I annotated and provided a narrative similar to this one ). This timeline was from the end of XX/XX/XXXX to the beginning ofXX/XX/XXXX. During this time, Huntington reached out about twice, and when I attempted to return their calls ( the voice message was patchy and prerecorded ) I was shunted from department to department until the calls were dropped. I figured from this that they were n't important, as the message contained no information relevant to my dispute ( i.e. another department was calling for a different reason ). In addition, they sent letters to my permanent address, in XXXX. I was then working and taking classes in XXXX, having my mail forwarded to me. By the time I received the closure notices from home, it was already closed by a day or so. I called to iron out the miscommunication in XX/XX/XXXX, at which point I was asked to send a letter to the dispute department, which I did immediately ( attached ). I again called a few weeks later ( XX/XX/XXXX ) to find the status of the dispute, and was informed that I would need to send a letter to re-open my case. I informed the person that I had indeed done this, and I was told to call back in another few weeks to find out the status of the dispute. I did that today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and was informed that Huntington would not reopen the dispute, and I was hung up on by a Supervisor. This is clearly an attempt to avoid refunding money for a legitimate dispute, and I have made every attempt to jump through the bureaucratic hoops Huntington has laid out. They have tried to stonewall me by disconnecting my calls, pretending there were no supervisors or managers to speak with, and ignoring or omitting evidence that I have provided to explain my situation.

Non-sufficient funds and associated fees
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXXI called in and complained because Huntington Bank charged me {$37.00} which is a Returned NSF item fee because of not enough funds in my account to cover {$44.00} water bill. However they had subtracted that amount out of my account already so it appeared to be paid but the next day I looked into my account and they had returned it and charged me a fee. I spoke with XXXX who was extremely arrogant and rude. I explained to her one of the reasons I chose to bank with them was their 24 hour grace window and on this transaction that window of 24 hours was not given to me. She stated that it was their option not to extend the 24 hour grace to whom they wanted and it was n't a guaranty. I explained that was n't in the promotion that they advertise so in essence they were running a bait and switch advertisement whereby you have consumers open up their accounts thinking they have a benefit of a 24 hour grace period when really they do n't. I advised her that it appeared to me she was getting agitated because I was voicing my opinion which was my option and she stated that the system do n't no the race of a person when it rejects items for insufficient funds it is done internally based on your account. I stated that I know that because a lot of the complaints against there banks when it comes to this particular issue is with their XXXX American account holders and she stated if so then we need to keep funds in our accounts and we would n't have that problem. I was livid and shocked and I advised her I would file a complaint against Huntington Bank. I am considering a class action lawsuit if I do n't receive an apology and my funds put back in my account and afterwards I will find another banking institution for my direct deposits. When I thought it could n't get any worse on XX/XX/XXXX I was charged two insufficient fees of {$37.00} and 2 of my check items were returned again with no 24 hour grace notice once again although my direct deposit was deposited in a second account that came in the same day. I honestly believe this was done in retaliation for my earlier call onXX/XX/XXXX with XXXX as well as Huntington Bank discriminatory practices against XXXX Americans. I spoke with XXXX today and she was n't helpful at all so I had no other choice but to file this complaint and if this complaint does n't suffice then I will file a class action law suit to shed light on their banking practices as it relates to people of XXXX.
