Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX, one of my service providers withdrew an unauthorized amount from my checking account in the amount of {$210.00}. Once I notified XXXX, they told me I would need to contact my financial institution to get my funds returned to my account. They also claimed that they did not withdraw the funds from my account, but Huntington just sent them the funds. The Huntington dispute ID is XXXX. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau notified Huntington Bank regarding my complaint and the bank Escalation Department contacted me and refunded the money. However, for some reason, the bank followed a " dispute procedure '' and stated that I needed to provide supporting documentation showing that I paid this merchant some other way. I once again explained to Huntington, that there should not have been funds pulled from my account period, this was an unauthorized transaction and XXXX happened to have one of my debit/credit account numbers on file. ( I have since closed this card ).
The bank representative updated notes stating that no further documentation was needed since this was simply " unauthorized charges '' and was " not '' for services rendered. I now have another issue regarding this matter, Huntington made yet another error and pulled the funds from my account in XX/XX/XXXX! They pulled {$100.00} & another {$37.00} fee claiming they did not receive the supporting documentation showing I paid XXXX another method. On XX/XX/XXXX, I spoke to a supervisor who stated that I needed to call back at XXXX XXXX. so the matter would be escalated to their " Dispute Department '' who is the only group who can return my funds to me. Additionally, there are additional fees totaling {$250.00} that Huntington withdrew from my account in XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX & XX/XX/XXXX which I want credited back to my account immediately. Once all fees have been returned to my account, I plan to close my account and end our relationship with this financial institution.

Complaint: I have been attempting to make a payment on my Huntington Voice credit card, for over a month, but have been unable to due to an error message. Stating the following ; " One or more payment accounts below have been flagged by your financial institution for routing number and/or account number issues. Please contact your financial institution to confirm the payment account information and if needed change the payment account as necessary. '' I have contacted Huntington bank reps. Numerous times to get this resolved and after over 1 month since my first complaint I am still unable to make a payment online.
I work XXXX ( leave for work ) and typically do not get home until after XXXX. Making a payment online was part of the original agreement i entered into with Huntington bank. On my latest contact with a Huntington bank rep. on X/XX/2017, via a Live Chat through Huntington Banks ( HB ) own platform, it was implied that their is some sort of security restriction Huntington added to my account that prohibits me from making an online payment. I have no idea why and Huntington refuses to provide any information confirming or explaining why. I have not received any correspondence via USPS, Email, Verbal or Text that my account has any restriction for payments During my live chat with a XXXX rep. : - I explained I was unable to add my external checking to make a payment online.
- I explained my need to make a payment online due to personal restrictions.
- I have been charged late fees the last few months - After several minutes of researching the HB Rep confirmed the error message but incredibly refused to help me or forward my issue to the appropriate department. I was literally lost for words. Can you believe that, Huntington literally refused to help me or forward my complaint. WOW!
Additionally, XXXX is providing untruthful statements to me, e.i. the error message is untruthful.
- I am beginning to believe Huntington bank is deliberately trying to ruin my credit due to my previous valid complaints. If this is not an example of some sort of retaliation, please find me a more accurate reason for all these issue I have had with them.

Complaint: My electric payment from XXXX XXXX posted on my account on XXXX XXXX,2017 for {$91.00} and some change and this payment showed clear after I made a transfer of {$130.00} from my second account that I have with Huntington which has my direct deposit. My XXXX XXXX was returned and I was charged two {$37.00} returned check fees. Huntington offers a 24 hour grace period but I was denied the grace because of an earlier complaint I made against them for discriminating against XXXX XXXX with regards to fees they charge them as oppose to their XXXX XXXX when it comes to them applying their 24 hour grace promotion. I have started an online petition with thousands of complaints and I will file a Class action lawsuit if all my fees are n't returned into my account within 30 days. They have misleading marketing when it comes to their 24 hour grace period because they pick and choose which ethnicity they extend that option to and it must STOP. .

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I started investing in a company abroad in the binary market. I first did my research before investing and there no negative remarks about the company. My initial investment was {$500.00} which I used from my checking account with The Huntington National Bank. The money went to XXXX XXXX XXXX which is the payment processing for XXXX XXXX. There was growth in the investment so in XX/XX/XXXX I invested another {$5000.00}. I was then charged a fee for sending the money over seas. I was unaware of this fee, but the bank informed me that it was in my contract when I opened the account a number of years prior to this transaction. I had to call the bank to approve the transaction and was not made aware of any such fee. The account continued to grow and everything still seemed legitimate so I invested another {$3500.00} in XX/XX/XXXX. I was charged the fee. Then in XX/XX/XXXX I authorized a transaction of {$5000.00}, but the bank let the company ( XXXX XXXX ) withdraw {$10000.00}. The company had put the money in trades so it was now tied up for three months. When the trades had expired XX/XX/XXXX I went to put in a request for with draw because the account had grown to {$120000.00} and I wanted my full investment back and let the rest go. I then found that I was locked out of my account and the website did n't recognize me. I called and emailed numerous times with no response from XXXX XXXX. I then contacted The Huntington and let them know the situation that I was scammed and I was told that they could not do anything for me. I had informed them that my credit card company ( XXXX XXXX ) had returned the money with the dispute and they have the same protocol for disputes. I just feel that they did n't want to help me. I have been a good customer for about ten years.

Complaint: I put through a stop payment on withdrawals from my checking account in XX/XX/XXXX. The stop payment was on monthly electronic withdrawals from XXXX XXXX. Huntington Bank returned the XX/XX/XXXX payment. However, in XX/XX/XXXX the Bank did not catch the stop payment and put it through charging my account the {$68.00}. When I called Customer Service, I was told that because the electronic debit had a date behind the name, the Bank did not recognize this as the stop payment. XXXX XXXX always puts a date behind their name and it was not a problem in XX/XX/XXXX when it was stopped. All of a sudden it became a problem for the bank to catch it. Customer Service also kept referring to a paper check rather than an electronic debit which is how I had indicated the stop payment. Nothing had ever been said about a paper check.

Complaint: Money is being taken by Huntington and applied to interest on my loan when it should be applied toward the principle balance. I have made many, many.. many attempts to have this corrected, yet it is not. After going through this process for several months it was " corrected '' though XX/XX/XXXX. I called around XX/XX/XXXX asking for the payment I had made on XX/XX/XXXX to be corrected as it was not applied correctly. I was told it would be. On XX/XX/XXXX I called again because even though there were some changes made, the funds were again re-applied incorrectly. I was told, again, that it would be fixed. I called yet again on XX/XX/XXXX and have not received any type of response from the company, and the funds are still incorrectly applied- which is a fancy way of just saying they are blatantly keeping my money. Everything is a mess here- they are keeping money that should be paid toward principle, that is obviously affecting the interest calculation which costs me even more money, the numbers do not even match with their own amortization schedule, and the amortization schedule itself does n't even look right, though I 'd need to calculate everything manually to be sure. At this point it 's nearly impossible to say the exact amount I rightfully owe, or how much they owe me, and that 's ridiculous.

Complaint: we received a letter from Huntington National Bank dated XX/XX/XXXX stating our boat installment loan had been paid in full on XX/XX/XXXX. To this day, XX/XX/XXXX, Huntington bank has yet to release the title to the Department of Motor Vehicles ( DMV ). My husband attempts to contact the bank on a daily basis to check on the progress however the customer service is horrendous and often the 'hold ' times exceed what he is allowed during his work hours. He has tried numerous times to allow myself to speak with a representative, which they have declined. He has been given inconsistent information as to when and even if the title has been released. As of this past Friday, a representative failed to 'verify ' my husband and would not even give him information and ended the call. He has but put on hold after requesting not to be put on hold, he has been transferred and hung up on going on months now. The buyers of the boat are considering legal action against us as they yet to have the title.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX a repo company tried to come to my mother 's house and repossess my car. My mother is a XXXX XXXX herself for a local XXXX XXXX and works with this company so was obviously completely embarrassed and called me right away. I was told that they were coming within 24 hours to take my car because Huntington said I had not paid on it in 3 months. Long story short I have always gone through the drive through since my branch was XXXX XXXX and paid my car loan. For the last 3 months whoever was working the drive through window put my payments on the WRONG ACCOUNT. I called and was told I needed to bring proof that I had paid. I got my bank statements and printed out the cancelled checks and took them in. They never apologized and acted like it was no big deal. I told them I needed a demand letter stating exactly what happened ( this is in my BBB complaint ) and for my credit score to be wiped clean ( it had significantly dropped due to these fraudulent " missed payments '' ). I was assured of all of this. After filing a complaint with the BBB, someone called and said that they still had no idea why my payments went into the wrong account ( so now I have to worry every single month when I go in to pay ) and that my credit report was fixed. Just looked at my credit report and it is fixed for XXXX 's payment fur XXXX 's payment is still showing missed and my credit score is still significantly down. I 've still never gotten an explanation or apology from the branch and my mother being a XXXX XXXX is appalled at their business practice and I 've asked for a credit multiple times and have been ignored. Why are they able to benefit off of my money and go on with their " business '' as they 're wreaking havoc on my life and causing me unwarranted stress. I need my credit report wiped clean of this immediately, and once again feel I should get some sort of credit to my account for all of this.

Complaint: I opened a checking account with Huntington Bank online on X/XX/2017, and my wife opened a checking account on X/XX/2017. My son transferred {$2000.00} each to my account and my wife 's account on X/XX/2017 from his checking account at XXXX XXXX. We tried to return the money to his account by transferring, but my account and my wife 's account were frozen. We were locked out of our online accounts, and had no access to our funds. I did contact customer service and was told that the accounts were under investigation for a possible fraud. I was also told in one instance that the remaining balance for my account was {$2000.00}. My son tried to transfer that money to his checking account on X/X/2017 initiating from XXXX XXXX, but it bounced back on X/X/2017 due to the freeze. This is reflected in the statements for his checking account, as is the initial transfers. Please see the transaction descriptions for corresponding account numbers. Finally, we closed my account with Huntington Bank on X/X/2017 and my wife 's account on X/XX/2017. We were told over the phone that the balance of the accounts would be sent to us. Attached are the letters sent to us regarding the account closures. For my account, the letter states that the remaining balance was XXXX. I received no money. For my wife 's account, the letter states the remaining balance was {$300.00}. A check for that amount was included. I 'm not sure how that amount came to be, but I suspect it had to do with the {$300.00} bonus for opening the account and depositing {$2000.00}. We have called Huntington Bank many times and even sent a letter. The people answering the phones have no idea on the situation, and we have never been allowed to talk directly to the fraud department, which also never contacted neither verified with us via any format such as letters, e-mails or phone calls. Every time we called, nobody has been able to tell us where the originally deposited money is or provide records of transactions in the accounts. We did not receive any statements until I sent a letter questioning where our money was. Those statements are attached here and do not include any time frame when money was deposited to the account or withdrawn. The one for my account reflects X/X/2017 to X/X/2017, and the one for my wife 's account reflects X/X/2017 to X/X/2017. Our accounts were n't even open during those periods, and we did n't have access anyway. Furthermore, the statements all the way from initial transfer to now for my son 's checking account show that no money has ever been sent there from Huntington Bank.

Complaint: Beginning on XX/XX/XXXX I began having ACH transactions reversed from my business checking account to my creditors. All of the transactions listed below were coded incorrectly. All the transactions were coded XXXX Frozen Account when in fact my account was not legally frozen. The bank verbally agrees that my account was not legally Frozen. They ( branch manager and the asst manager ) say account was never Frozen but yet the ACH department gets their information from the bank as to why ACH transactions are reversed. I did make a deposit in the amount of {$2000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX that the bank put a hold on. They say this is the reason for the returns but that does not explain why I had the return on XX/XX/XXXX that was coded as if my account was frozen and furthermore these other transactions should have been coded XXXX uncollected funds not XXXX Frozen account. The deposit in question never should have been held as it cleared the other bank the same night it was deposited but my bank said the funds couldnt be verified. They already had the funds. I have spoken to the branch manager 3 times, the Asst manager atleast 5, customer service 8-10 times, I have filed a complaint and a dispute with the bank. All I need is a letter from my bank stating my account was never frozen and is a valid account. The branch has contacted the legal department and they are not allowed to write a letter for anyone about anything. I have contacted XXXX and spoke to customer service manager who was the first person to understand the ramifications to my business due the codes being wrong. The bank XXXX manager was supposed to call me but I never heard from them. It has been 6 weeks and no resolution. I have no access to my business line of credit, I have to now hand walk my XXXX XXXX payments in person to pay in cash at a XXXX store for the next 12 months and due to the XXXX return I may not be able to get another working capital loan from XXXX for my business. This has greatly effected my business and I am unsure of the future ramifications to my business. This could honestly put me out of business if it is not resolved and I can not access my line of credit or renew my working capital loan. Complaint: I have a checking account I opened about a year ago at Huntington National Bank, XXXX Branch at XXXX XXXX XXXX./XXXX XXXX location ) that I intended to use for a second job. I only recently started working at the second job in XXXX 2017 and began having the funds directly deposited into that account and spending on a debit card. I am not very good with online banking and did not recall my password or user name in XXXX when I began using the account frequently. Everything was fine until XXXX 2017.
I thought I had enough money in my account, and if I did n't, my debit card would be denied. I made a series of 7 small purchases on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ( {$28.00}, {$9.00}, {$9.00}, {$5.00}, {$22.00}, {$17.00}, {$24.00} ) that put my account into the negative. I was then charged 2 overdraft fees of {$37.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. I never received a text or call from the bank to let me know about my account being overdrawn. I did receive an email saying generically that there I a message in my account, but nothing suggesting there was a problem. And because I could n't log in, and I needed my daughter to help me figure out how to get in, I did n't address it right away. Had I known there was a problem with my account I would have called immediately to remedy the situation.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I made three more small transactions ( {$9.00}, {$16.00}, {$22.00} ) and was immediately charged 4 overdraft fees of {$37.00} each the same day. The next day I received a paycheck for {$240.00}, which would have brought my account into the positive, if it were not for the 6 overdraft fees occurred in 5 days totaling {$220.00}. Again, no call or text or any communication from the bank except a generic email saying I have a message, which I assume the Bank can tell if I accessed or not.
Believing I had more money in the account after I got paid, I then spent {$16.00} in one transaction on XX/XX/XXXX, and immediately that day received 3 overdraft fees of {$37.00}, then 1 more on XX/XX/XXXX of {$37.00}, despite no transactions even occurring that day, and then a {$25.00} extended overdraft fee on XX/XX/XXXX.
That is a total of 10 overdraft fees and 1 extended overdraft fee between XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX totaling {$400.00}! I overspent by about {$160.00}. Again, no call or anything from the bank. No freeze on my debit card. Nothing.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I went into the Branch to cash a check, not knowing anything about my now - {$330.00} balance. Because I still could not access my account, they printed out a recent transactions list for me, which is the first time I saw any overdraft fees. That night I had my daughter help me log into my account, and saw the excessive amount of fees. I was shocked. I immediately set up a transfer from my bill account at XXXX XXXX, but am not sure that I can actually afford to have those funds used for such an absurd purpose.
OnXX/XX/XXXX, I called Huntington Bank customer service to talk about the fees and requested that all or most of them be waived. As I can not afford {$400.00} in fees. I got the second job because I could barely afford to live on my first job, and was only making maybe $ XX/XX/XXXX- {$250.00} a week in my second job. The manager XX/XX/XXXX told me the best they could do was waive {$120.00} in fees, a bit more than only a quarter of the fees. When I asked why the bank didnt call me, she told me the bank doesnt have the resources to call customers for every overdraft. She then told me to visit the bank branch because they could help me more, as this was the first time I ever had such a problem. She also told me to opt out of any future overdraft protection.
I immediately went to the branch ( XXXX XXXX XXXX./XXXX XXXX location ) and spoke to XXXX XXXX ( NLMS ID XXXX ). There, XXXX XXXX refused to assist me with the fees in any way, telling me simply No multiple times and that in the future I should be more careful to monitor my spending, and offered me a ledger. I was very frustrated. I then asked to opt out of future overdraft protections and asked that no credit transactions be approved if I did not have the funds. I pay no bills automatically from this account, so I do not need this protection. He told me that he could opt me out, but the bank has full decision to approve any charge presented and could not guarantee that the bank wont approve a transaction and then charge me a fee. I asked multiple questions as to how that could be the case ( pointing out I dont use checks, so this would only be credit ) and what sort of charges would the bank approve. XXXX XXXX was very curt and just said the bank would approve anything it wanted and if I didnt want a fee, I shouldnt try to spend money I dont have. He would only say the bank looks at factors like the size of the transaction. He said that if the bank denied any overdraft charge I would then get a {$37.00} return payment fee and so I should be better at monitoring my transactions. He then told me that he couldnt possibly explain how overdraft fees all work to me today as if I were a XXXX. My daughter was there to witness the whole thing. I was embarrassed and upset and ashamed, and now in a very deep financial pit. I asked that my account be closed, but he refused because I had not brought the account current yet. I will not bank with Huntington again.
