Complaint: I deposited a check written in another name. Bank put a hold on the account for the funds and will not release them after the check has cleared through the bank. Bank has opened a savings acct and will not release funds unless the other party comes into a branch location and endorses the check, ( which has been already done ). Other party lives outside the state and I was simply cashing a CASHIERS CHECK for her since she didn't have a bank account herself. The check has not been reported lost, stolen, etc and the longest the bank can hold the funds is 30 days. It has been over that time and the fraud department advised me there is nothing that can done to release the hold on the account. I believe this is total discrimination and I need the funds to be released asap.

Subsequent automobile accident and XXXX XXXX outside of XXXX XXXX Branch service area left account holder unable respond to XXXX XXXX demands directly, outside of electronic communications channels. ( ATM/Debit Card and Online Account Management ) Huntington Bank shut down all electronic account access, and secure electronic communication links between customer and bank within days of overdraft correction attempts.
Bank refused to discuss account issues, or resumption of secure electronic communication for out of service area customer with customers authorized representative.
Huntington Bank subsequently, unilaterally closed my checking account to detriment of customer 's credit rating, and refused all reasonable attempts to rectify the overdraft situation electronically from outside the Bank 's physical service area.

Complaint: After filing complaints about 1 month latter Huntington Bank has done the same thing of doing overcharge fees on items I dont have. Including charging me twice for same item then charging me overcharge fees. Also they received a complete account audit letter from my attorney and me but havent done audit. In conclusion, still from previous complaints I havent found out why a electronic check was cashed listed as paid then a week later disappeared from account and listed as unpaid but I never was notified and still havent been refunded. Nor has what happened been explained, which a audit should do.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX : I contacted Hungtinton Bank and explained that I had been unemployed for a number of months and still had no employment in sight. I asked if there was something that could be done. They told me no, just pay and do not be 30 days late. I continued using my savings to pay which meant other bills were not paid.
Finally, in XXXX of XXXX, after missing some payments I spoke with someone at the bank. Explained I had been unemployed but finally had a new job but at less that half of what I previously made. They told me I could apply for a loan modification and that this was an option that should have been offered when I was unemployed.
XX/XX/XXXX. The modification was completed but not to my satisfaction. I asked to speak to someone in management to discuss what had occurred. I was given name and number and called over and over and over. I was called back maybe once, twice at the most but not when I was free to speak. I continued calling only to be ignored. In addition, while awaiting the loan modification, I was called by the bank and told I was delinquent. I told them I was working on a modification with them and did not understand how they could not do this.
XX/XX/XXXX : After continuously trying to speak with management I paid nearly {$2400.00} XXXX one month late and the amount per the modification ). I still continued to call and be ignored.
XX/XX/XXXX : Received a check from the bank representing the amount I paid them. They said I was delinquent and needed to pay in full. I have tried calling them again and still no response. I made another payment but am concerned they will never address my concerns. I can now make regular monthly payments.

Complaint: A transaction for {$2300.00} was deducted by XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/18 for services that were not delivered. The company, XXXX XXXX, refunded {$650.00} of those charges and still owe the remaining balance deposit. After failed request ( s ) to reimburse the remain balance of {$1600.00} a complaint was filed with Huntington Bank to dispute the charges and obtain a refund as afforded by XXXX XXXX consumer right to obtain a refund for " services not delivered ''. However Huntington denied the claimed based on " buyers remorse '' which was not the nature of the original complaint. Upon speaking with a representative at Huntington Bank, they resubmitted the dispute based on the actual stated reason " services not delivered '' and within 24 hours again denied the claim based on " buyers remorse. '' Huntington Bank is ignoring the reason for the complaint continually and inaccurately reporting the disputed reason as " buyers remorse. ''

Complaint: I wrote a check to an individual, XXXX XXXX, Check # XXXX, in the amount of {$1600.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. The individual deposited the check the same day at Huntington Bank, routing # XXXX. On Saturday, XX/XX/XXXX Huntington Bank, XXXX, WV, notified the individual the check had the stale date of XX/XX/XXXX and would be held and not deposited. Since it was deposited in the ATM the check was scanned and sent to their Corporate Offices. The check was not going to be honored because of the incorrect year. I withdrew {$1600.00} cash from my checking account to give the individual in lieu of the check. However, on XX/XX/XXXX the check amount of {$1600.00} was deducted from my checking account, which is at XXXX XXXX. Since then, Huntington Bank Fraud Department has been holding the funds. They want XXXX to request the funds to be sent back. However, XXXX states they can not recall or cancel the check since the funds have been sent to Huntington Bank. I spoke to the Huntington Bank Branch Manager, XXXX, who stated I had to get XXXX to get the funds returned. I called XXXXXXXX XXXX, who transferred me to their Claims Department. The Claims Department stated they could not handle the issue since there isn't a claim. The Claims Department stated I would have to get the local branch to handle the issue. I called the 800 number for XXXX. I was instructed to go in person to the XXXX local branch and request a recall for the check. If the local branch didn't know what to do I was to tell them to call Branch Support to complete the Recall. XXXX at the local branch called Branch Support and completed the form on line while I was there on XX/XX/XXXX. I waited one week and on XX/XX/XXXX called the local branch. XXXX was on vacation so I was connected with the branch manager. The branch manager stated he would have to make some calls to check the status. He called me back the same day and stated the recall was denied and if Huntington Bank suspected Fraud they should have sent the funds back to the origin, which was my checking account. I called Huntington Bank back today, XX/XX/XXXX and spoke to XXXX. The branch manager, XXXX, was on a conference call. I gave XXXX the information regarding the {$1600.00} transaction and hold so XXXX could make inquiries. XXXX stated XXXX would call me back today. I did not hear back from XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The {$1600.00} has been in the hands of Huntington Bank for over 3 weeks now and they refuse to return the funds while XXXXXXXX XXXX states there is nothing they can do. I could certainly use some help as I am getting nowhere with either of these banks and I don't know who is wrong. I made the mistake with the year on the check but this is ridiculous to take this long to return the funds. {$1600.00} is not a lot to a bank but I'm now in a pinch for paying bills and will incur late fees if I don't get my money back soon. Thank you in advance for your help in resolving this matter.

Complaint: Hi I fell on hard times recently and my checking account was overdrafted due to my bills being on autopay with my checking account. I've been working towards getting the money to fix it but I keep being charged more and more fees making it almost impossible to make my account positive again. I went to my local huntington bank and talked to them about my account and fixing it and tried to get fees taken off and to stop more fees from coming out. I figured they would help me out since I've never overdrafted before but they only refunded one fee out of 10+ fees. I opted out of their 24hr overdraft program to make sure anymore bills wouldn't try to charge my bank thus resulting in another fee but my gas bill just charged and now I received yet another fee. I canceled all my autopay bills as much as I could remember so it shouldn't happen again. Huntington was my first and only bank account since I was XXXX and I don't want to leave but this is just ridiculous 41 % of my total balance owed as of XX/XX/18 are fees! Nearly half. I know I screwed up to let this even happen but it seems like huntington is trying to make me fall down lower and lower to a point of no return and not help at all it really doesn't make sense to me. If this happened to most of the people I know they just wouldn't pay anything at all and forget about it. But I couldn't do that I just don't understand how they expect someone to pay them back when they keep charging more fees than a lot of ppl can make in a day.

Complaint: Ive been a good customer of Huntington bank for over a year now, rarely have I ever been in the red with them, and I got slapped with a {$150.00} dollar overdraft fee because I booked a hotel and didnt put money in until a couple hours after my 24 hour grace period. Now my account is negative - {$370.00}. I am about to go out of town on business and this cuts into my funds and this is the only bank account I currently have.
