Problem accessing account
Complaint: Made a deposit into my Huntington checking account of XXXX on XX/XX/2018. Received an email from the bank stating the deposit was on hold until XX/XX/2018. I also setup an auto transfer of XXXX dollars per week from another one of my accounts a month earlier for which Huntington bank continues to pull faithfully.
Though I had other funds in the account bills submitted XXXX XXXX ( my Car note ) for payment were told my account was closed. I am charged insufficient funds fees for the non payment on my car-note even though there are funds in the Huntington Bank account to cover car-note outside of the XXXX deposit.
It is XX/XX/2018 now and I have no access to my account and no explanation as to why the account is on hold. Huntington Bank is stating I will have to wait until there process is completed but they continue to withdraw from my other XXXX XXXX XXXX account.
Funny thing is the the XXXX dollars cleared the originating bank and Huntington continues to process the auto transfer from my XXXX XXXX XXXX account. They are getting funds in but I cant get anything out.
Please help

Complaint: I filed the complaint about Huntington Bank ( XXXX bank ) in XXXX PA at XXXX XXXX XXXX about then STEALING my CD my be reference under XXXX XXXX Well about the same time I got a bill for my safe deposit box. After the thief of money I vow never to go in that bank again.
To start with I used the bank at XXXX XXXX XXXX and they did not even have a safe. You had to go several miles to get to theirs ( XXXX and XXXX I refuse to do any business with that bank. Well I got a nasty letter since I would not pay for the box they were going to drill it ...
Well the proper why to done it is to send any and everything in the box to me in my name or my brothers. they had the address etc. I had the deed to the house plus title to the car plus a ring plus my brother FCC license plus other smaller items.
If they could not find us ( we only lived in this house for 70 years ( my family ) per PA laws they are to turn all I repeat ALL items removed from a Safe Deposit Box over to the PA Treasury. who has the unclaim property section.
Well I followed that site checking several times and nothing was ever turn over to them. They keep items active on the computer for 10 years, and inactive after that ...
Clearly this bank had no right to just toss my personal effects.
I want money for this.
THIS BANK IS KNOWN AS THE WORST ONE IN THE CITY. I HAVE ONLY HEARD COMPLAINTS AGAINST THEM.

Problem using a debit or ATM card
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX. I went to the atm at Huntington Bank at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MI. I withdrew {$460.00} off my debit card from XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, MI. I was then going to deposit the money into my Huntington Bank Account to cover my rent check which I wrote from my Huntington Bank Account. The atm sucked my money back into machine before I had a chance to take it out. I immediately contacted Huntington Bank and talk to XXXX XXXX a customer service representative at the XXXX Branch. I was told that I would have to wait 14 days for my money to be returned because their atms are vendor fed and vendor balanced. i have never heard of this and when I contacted XXXX a Customer Service Representative at XXXX XXXX XXXX she never heard of this either. I had this happened one other time at another bank and they went out and checked atm and my money was sitting in back of machine. XXXX called XXXX XXXX and was told the same thing there was nothing they could do but file a dispute and we did and he said it was taking care of. Well on XX/XX/XXXX the check was presented and I thought they would return it. I contacted my landlord and explained to him what happened and he asked me to write another check which I had my sister do ( I'm between paydays ) for {$440.00} plus {$15.00} for overdraft/return payment at his bank. Well they paid it even thought there obviously was no {$440.00} in my account. Now I am overdrawn by - {$400.00}. I should mention I did have {$40.00} left for groceries that was used towards the check. Another payment came thru which I had money for before this check payment and that put me overdrawn at - {$400.00}. I had a 24 hour grace period but being between paydays and borrowing money from my sister had nothing to put in the account. Well on XX/XX/XXXX I was slapped with a {$23.00} over draft fee leaving me overdrawn by - {$420.00} and Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX they slap me with an extended overdraft fee of {$25.00} now I'm overdrawn by - {$450.00}. Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX XXXX from Huntington Bank Headquarters called and said they closed my case and my bank will have to dispute on their end. Are we serious? Two weeks of run around and stress. I contacted XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX this morning and she filed a dispute. A {$460.00} withdrawal has cost me close to {$600.00}.

Complaint: In XX/XX/2018, I negotiated a construction mortgage on rate and closing costs completely independent of each other for a {$500000.00} loan amount with Huntington Bank. The negotiations took place over the phone. The lender left voicemails ( which I still have ) explaining the deal which I still have. Initial disclosures were sent with the correct closing costs estimates/credits but an incorrect rate. I brought this to the attention of the loan officer who stated I would receive a new disclosure with the correct rate. During this conversation I made sure to state that the closing costs are correct but the rate is not.
When I received the second set of disclosures ( a total of seven ) I only made sure to play attention to the rate and not the closing costs. I was later told they could not honor the closing cost credits. I was told the negotiation over the rate was either selecting the rate or the closing cost credit. This contradicts the voicemails left by the loan officer. I was also later told the loan officer was given a 60 basis point negotiation limit off of pricing. I believe my rate negotiated fell well within these limits, yet they would not confirm was the negotiation limits were and simply stated they never would have negotiated that deal.
I verified the rate sheets with a bank emloyee during the approximate time frames of the mortgage processing and discovered the rates were either lower or on par with what was stated to me as the starting rates before discounts.
The week before scheduling a closing, I was never advised of an approximate 1,200 dollar rate lock fee. It was simply applied to my loan and was sent one of the many disclosures and expected to check. I was never given the option not to lock it. I was also advised by the supervisor this was not a best practice on the part of the bank. I verified rates during the time the lock period was no longer in effect, and was surprised to learn base rates on lending had fell from the original rates.
Therefore, I ended up with a loan with a higher rate than negotiated and even a higher rate than would have been available to me if I had not locked the rate.
Both my builder and I had never had such a terrible experience with such a rude loan officer.
To add to the severe inconvenience, when it came time to close, the title work and closing documents were not prepared correctly. I had to educate the closer, the loan officer, the title company employees on the proper way to prepare the deed. The incorrect legal description and parcel number were used. Even during these struggles, the loan officer had the audacity to bring up the term rate lock again on the loan should it not be able to close the day of closing due to Huntingtons mistakes. The comment was made to ensue that if I didnt close within a certain number of days I would have to pay another rate lock fee which is obsurred given the mistakes were not mine.
The loan officer never apologized. Never took blame for a failure to communicate with his client. And never took the blame for a failure to communicate the details of a deal to his supervisor who allegedly approved the deal.
Both the loan officer and the supervisor stated there was nothing they could do given the short time to close. They placed me in a very bad situation given I already had permits to break ground which would expire before the competion of construction if I did not close ASAP. They used this against me because they knew I could not start the process of going with another bank given the time of the year and time spent already with the their mortgage process.

Billing problem
Complaint: During the month of XX/XX/2018 I made two payments to my loan so that I would be ahead. One payment was made on XXXX and the other on XX/XX/XXXX. I noticed when I made the payment for XX/XX/XXXX that my payment for XXXX had not posted to my account. I called my local bank who ensured me that the funds were removed from my account and they were able to send me a copy of the electronic check. Since then I have called my loan company, Huntington National Bank, four times and keep getting different stories from them. The first time I was told that the payment was not received, second was that the payment was returned, third time I was told that the payment was put onto a different account that they would fix it ( this was after the geniuses processed a missing payment request for my payment made on XX/XX/XXXX ), and the fourth time they tried to tell me that they had no record of a payment attempt for that day even though I have my payment confirmation code. My loan company keeps trying to tell me that the payment was made from an account that does not exist. They tell me that the account number used for the payment is an invalid account number. The same day as my fourth call I reached out to my local bank who holds my checking/savings account and they offered to call my loan company themselves. My bank rep ensured them that, dispite their multiple claims of the contrary, the funds were infact released to them from my account and that the account they keep claiming not to exist is a valid account. I have offered on many occasions to send them a copy of my electronic check ( which has the account number they claim to be invalid, their company name, and my loan account number ) but they will not give me that option. I was told last week that I was going to get a call from ... someone ( they wouldnt give me a name or title ) but was honestly not surprised when that call never came. My local bank says its too late to dispute the charge and my loan company keeps saying there is nothing that they can do. I am currently out {$500.00} and feel like my loan company isnt even really trying to figure out what the problem is.

Complaint: My XXXX year old XXXX XXXX mother added me to her account several years ago. She was very ill at the time and wanted me to be able to make transactions on her behalf should she be too ill to do so. We explained this to the bank staff who actually added me. We actually asked what was the best way to go about doing this and was told that it would be to add me to the account. Years have gone by and I have never benefited from any of the funds in the account. I have never added any of my own money to the account.
My husband and I had an account with Huntington as well. Apparently, it had been charged off. We had NO knowledge of this. In fact, we opened a second account a few years later and was never told by anyone that we owed any money. Unfortunately, my husband lost his job and this second account was charged off as well. This happened long enough ago that I had forgotten about it.
On Wednesday XX/XX/2018 my mother had funds withdrawn from her retirement account and deposited into her checking account.
On Friday XX/XX/2018 Huntington withdrew a sum of XXXX and a sum of XXXX for a total sum of XXXX On Monday XX/XX/2018 My mother phoned Huntington Bank customer service. She was told that because I was co signer on the account that they had a legal right to withdraw these funds. She insisted that I had only been on the account to assist her. None of the funds in that account were mine. The person who she spoke with was rude and refused to do anything.
I also phoned Huntington customer service on Monday XX/XX/2018. I adamantly stated that I was not aware of the debt. That I had not been contacted in regard to the debt. Also, this is a shared debt with my husband. I do not understand why I was being held solely responsible. I pointed out that even if this was a debt that I had with them I would dispute the debt if given the chance. Finally, how could I have known about the first amount if they allowed us to open another account with them? I begged the person I spoke with to take the information back to their legal team and at least have the issue evaluated again. I was told that the accounts are reviewed very carefully before they take money out. The bank staff refused to even try to get the legal team to take a second look.
Once again on Monday XX/XX/2018 my mother again called Huntington Banks customer service. She wanted to know why they would take these funds without notifying her. They stated that they did not have to notify her. They reasserted that because my name was on the account that they had every legal right to take the money. Huntington is very aware that the funds came from a retirement account that my mother can not withdraw from again this year without suffering huge penalties. In the end, she requested that a manager or supervisor call her.
On Tuesday XX/XX/2018 She received a call from someone named XXXX XXXX. She asked if she was a supervisor and XXXX XXXX responded by telling my mother that she was office staff but that was as high up as my mother would be ALLOWED access to. XXXX XXXX insisted with a very nasty attitude that what Huntington did was right. That my mother could do absolutely nothing about it to have it reversed.
Our research indicates that this account meets every guideline for being a convenience account. Huntington has stated that they do not offer these accounts. Still, since I did not benefit from any of these funds, my name was only later added to the account, and the funds in question clearly came from the retirement account owned solely by my mother. Finally, even if in the end they had a right to take the money, why didn't they take half and hold my husband responsible for the other half? This could and should have been worked out differently. I have repeatedly requested more information in regard to the debt ( s ) that Huntington claims the funds were taken for. I was told they only have the amounts owed and no other information. I was not even given the chance to dispute these debts.
