Complaint: According to XXXX XXXX ( per my pending complaint ) a ChexSystems score was used to close my account after it had been opened and set up ( approved by a Principal in the company ). I did not receive any notice from ChexSystems regarding a denial or was it clear to me that XXXX XXXX would use a third-pary reporting system without my knowledge. Additionally, the redress option that I was offered from ChexSystems was to order a report because I was denied credit. This is first time I 've even heard of this company as from my understanding the XXXX major credit bureaus determine credit scores. However, this is not the case. The issue I have with ChexSystems is that I was not informed that I was denied an account via XXXX XXXX because of a ChexSystems score. The report I received ( as the letter I uploaded ) indicates I have no history of " mishandled, reported for cause, and/or outstanding debts. '' Either the information that ChexSystems provided to XXXX XXXX was incorrect or there 's another scoring component. Additionally, the language used on the " Inquires Initiated by Consumer Action '' states that " These inquires can be viewed for ninety days up to three years. '' What is the criteria for that? Who determines how long they will stay on the report? Does this negatively affect your score? How can you know your score when the report does n't show it? These are all questions that have not been answered by ChexSystems. It is unfortunate that such an opaque process is used deny consumers the information they need to address an issue that is so clearly important ; understanding consumer reporting agencies and having access to redress issues that are vitally important to a consumer 's financial life.

Complaint: I have a victim of identity theft. My identity theft is well documented. Several years ago I banked with XXXX Bank. XXXX Bank had a data breach in which my name, social security number, driver 's license and date of birth were mailed to several thousand people. I am attaching a copy of a letter from XXXX Bank which outlines the date breach and includes a toll free number for you to call to verify the claim of identity theft directly with the financial institution. My Chex Systems credit score has several factors which dictate the score. XXXX of the factors are the addresses listed as well as the inquires from other financial institutions. The following addresses do not belong to me. I have never lived at the following addresses and in some instances the addresses are not even a real United States home address. In other instances they are addresses in states I never lived in. Chex Systems has refused to honor my request to remove these fraudulent addresses from my credit file. The addressed listed make me much more vunerable to identity theft and they lower my Chex Systems credit score. This also makes me more vulnerable to identity theft as mail could be sent to the general apartment complex building and not to my specific apartment. I contacted chex system XXXX 2016 to dispute the incorrect reporting and to date I have not received any response from them.
