Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX Certegy was fined $ XXXX by the FTC for inaccurate reporting to credit agencies and for making it overly challenging for consumers to have it corrected as Certegy Refuses to do the proper research as required by law. They are still operating under these procedures and I am tired of this company destroying my credit. Certegy claims that in XX/XX/XXXX I had a check returned and unpaid that I wrote to Go-daddy. I have pulled up the receipt from the XX/XX/XXXX transaction with XXXX and it shows that it was paid with a credit card and settled in full immediately. I contacted Certegy and they stated that they have no records of the transaction but they continue to report to the credit agency that the check was a write off. The only possible explanation I can think of ( which I had to make up in my mind because there is no evidence of it ) is as follows. I had XXXX XXXX set up to pay by electronic check. When I moved to XXXX and opened a new account the payment did not clear as I had the old account closed. This showed as a returned e-check but was immediately paid by the secondary payment option ; my credit card. However ; Certegy stepped in the middle and says I had an unpaid bounced check. Certegy tells the credit agency it was never paid but then tells me they have no record of the transaction. I have the paid receipt and credit card transaction. How is it possible Certegy can claim to the credit agencies that I had a returned check on XXXX XXXX, XXXX when I have a paid credit card receipt for the transaction on XXXX XXXX XXXX, they tell me they have no record of it, AND ; I still have the XXXX account, have run thousands of dollars through it and sold the URL that was paid for in that transaction to another party 18 months ago. I have pulled up my XXXX account going back to XXXX and there is no returned payment for {$81.00}. However ; there is an {$81.00} paid transaction on a credit card on the same date. I have attached the receipt and the account history. I have been trying to get this off of my report for over two years. All Certegy and the XXXX XXXX do is send electronic messages instead of doing actual research like they forced me to do. I should not have to be the one to prove my innocence in this case. If they are going to put something on my credit report they should have to prove their claims.

Not disclosed as an attempt to collect
Complaint: My credit report showed I owed Certegy {$200.00} from a check written on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX to XXXX. I contacted them and they said my bank did n't pay due to NSF. I contacted my bank and they said to dispute it because I had money at the time and overdraft protection. When I disputed, they ( Certegy ) figured out someone had keyed in the wrong bank account. I agreed to pay the check but they could not tell me who to pay it to. They said they sent the check to XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX said they returned it on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX because they did n't send an image of the check. I submitted an inquiry and they returned a letter saying that Complete Payment Recovery Services had the claim now. I contacted CPRS and they said they sent it to XXXX XXXX. I contacted XXXX XXXX again and they said they sent it back to Certegy. When I contacted Certegy again to see who I needed to pay they said they would mail me information. I never received it so I called back on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and they told me to call CPRS. CPRS told me to call XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX told me to call XXXX. XXXX checked in all XXXX of their data bases and there was no references to this claim and call XXXX back. I spoke with XXXX at XXXX XXXX and then XXXX who said she sent it back to Certegy and would send it again today. I waited a couple of hours and called Certegy back and they said I needed to call CPRS. I explained I had called them already and had been sent to XXXX XXXX and now back to them. They ( : XXXX ) stated she did n't see any notes that I had talked to CPRS and I would need to contact them again. I did and spoke with another lady and she said she would send an email to XXXX XXXX. I called XXXX back and they said they do n't have my claim. It has almost been XXXX months and I 'm in the process of trying to buy a house and this is holding up the final paperwork. Nobody can tell me who to pay and keeps telling me that another company has it. Customer service from Certegy has not been helpful and keeps putting it off on other companys.
