Account status
Complaint: The following account debt was dismissed by the courts with documentation, but Collection Company is still aggressively attacking credit bureaus with constant adverse credit report scouring. This account was a joint account with my XXXX year old mother who had perfect credit, but now it`s ruin because they constantly report this collection to the credit bureaus in a very negative way. This excessive negative reporting is interfering with me purchasing a home. Thank you for your help and support.

Not given enough info to verify debt
Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, we ( my roomates and I ) were contacted about debt that we owed regarding move-out charges on our apartment that our security deposit did not cover. The total amount in dispute was {$7500.00}. We ask for verification of the debt and the credit collection agency provided details regarding the debt. All of the debt was related to replacing our XXXX square foot hardwood floor. However, we did not have XXXX square feet of hardwood floor. Within our 30 day response period, we sent the company our floor plan which shows XXXX square feet of hardwood floor. The credit company ignored the evidence which would have reduced the bill by {$2000.00}. They also sent us information on XX/XX/XXXX which coincidentally increased the debt by {$2000.00}. The net affect would be XXXX reduction in debt ( we reduced our debt by {$2000.00} so they increased it by {$2000.00} ). We called the debt collection company 2 days later on XX/XX/XXXX and they said they already reported us to the credit card companies. They did not give us 30 days to response. In my point of view, they have the wrong apartment since our floor plans do not match or they are making up debt because they know how much money they need to make. This {$2000.00} worth of debt did not exist until we showed them proof that this was not our apartment.

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: To the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau : I XXXX recently filed a CFPB complaint against a national collection agency that specialized in the collection of unpaid rent. This agency send a compromised offer, but they did not expose the truth of my arrangement with The XXXX apartment complex. I hereby attach a copy of an email between myself and XXXX, Assistant Property Manager at the apartment complex in question. My move out from this complex was requested professionally as I was facing a family crisis back in XXXX State, and the ownership was understanding and agreed that I would only be responsible for the days whereas my apartment was nor re-rented, but that the management would advertise the apartment for rent immediately. The email response I have posted on this complaint shows that XXXX apologized that he was sorry the apartment was not advertised, and that he would not charge me for this mistake. This response concludes any argument that I owe anything towards the Fair Collections & Outsourcing , Inc . In addition, the settlement offer by FCO is hereby void, mainly because there is no lease termination fee in the entire lease, as posted for your review. This entire collection is a violation against my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the leasing by-laws of the state of XXXX, and since FCO posted the collection on every credit bureau, a serious violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. FCO has acted devious by adding charges to an invoice that are not included in my lease, and the fact remains that my move was amicable and the management of XXXX agreed that I was not going to be charged for the apartment post move. FCO must file a removal of the case and send removal letters to all pertinent credit reporting agencies on behalf of XXXX and XXXX respectively.

Indicated committed crime not paying
Complaint: The property management company of where I once lived sent my outstanding rent balance to collections. I now have a collection item on my credit report for {$5300.00}.
The reason I stopped paying rent at this location -- and I disputed this in court -- was because the property management company refused to make the maintenance repairs that I requested, after countless complaints. The repairs needed began to affect mine and the other tenants ' quality of living, one tenant being a XXXX year-old child.
I began the escrow process, and even after the judge and city code enforcememt ordered the property to make the repairs, they still did not. I was eventually evicted for non-payment. I was a model tenant and up until the time I stopped paying rent, I had paid my rent every month ON TIME and OVER the amount due.
I am requesting to have this item removed from my report, as well as from the report of the other tenant who was on this lease, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Not given enough info to verify debt
Complaint: Requested a verification of the debt and did not get one. Instead i get a negative remark placed on my credit report for late payment. I never owe this company and it is unfair to place a negative remark on my credit report without verifying the debt. My credit score was impacted by this.

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: I recently paid a debt of {$160.00} from 2012 against my principles to the XXXX XXXX of properties, specifically the XXXX at XXXX XXXX. The reason for this charge was because they raised my rent, converting me to a month-to-month lease while I was on XXXX XXXX with the XXXX XXXX stationed at XXXX XXXX, MD. I was in the XXXX Transition Unit at the time, recovering from XXXX. My orders were modified three different times, altering my discharge date. I informed the front office of this and provided a copy of the orders. I offered to sign a lease, but was told it was n't necessary since I was in the military. Later, the property manager informed me that since I had not renewed a lease that I was to be placed on a month to month basis at a higher rate. I informed her at the time that I offered to sign a lease but was told it was n't necessary. This debt still exists because I do not agree with this business practice. I have certainly had the means to pay, but I felt it was wrong and also it is in direct violation of the Servicemans Civil Relief Act, which is supposed to prevent companies like XXXX from taking advantage of military members that are being housed temporarily due to military service. Unfortunately, my financial well-being has been damaged for too long as a result of this, so I am reluctantly paying the {$160.00}. I 've reported this behavior previously without it being resolved. The XXXX XXXX should be ashamed to earn money in this bait-and-switch fashion. In my opinion they should be investigated ; violations of SCRA are criminal penalties. Taking advantage of members of the military is about as low as it gets.
