Complaint: I have discover credit card account. I access it from my desktop computer using Windows 10 Operating system and firefox as a browser. Every time when i try to login - this website think that I am not the right person and challenges with the security code. Either i need to get it on my cell phone or on my email. Even if i check the button " remember my computer '' it asks me again and again ... .very frustrating.I am not deleting my cookies. Already reached to Discover via secure message center but i do n't think they will be of any help. Last time they disabled my discover bank credentials also and i end up with lots of issues. Working with the online website of discover is really painful, frustrating and total waste of time. Their entire IT operations should be scrutinized. I am attaching the screen shots and the email communications. As you can thrice in a day ( today ) -I was challenged to login to my account and then it sent me code on my email. Also i checked the " remember my computer '' button also. I had been telling this to Discover for long time.

Need information about my balance/terms
Complaint: Discover Student Loan # XXXX. I 've been trying to refinance my student loan ( at 9.375 % to a lower rate with another lender ) but I 've been getting stonewalled by Discover. I spoke with multiple representatives at Discover requesting " Lenders ' 45-day Payoff statement '' mailed or emailed to me and each time I 'm being told that my request will be emailed up the chain-of-command. After 1-month of multiple requests I called yet again today only to get the same response. Without the statement from Discover my new lender would not process the loan and i have a limited window of opportunity to complete my paperwork. Please help!

Complaint: My step father opened accounts fraudulently under my name. I was in the process of studying for XXXX to become an XXXX and not aware he was doing such things. Once it was brought to my attention he indicated that he did open it only to help establish credit under my name. Unfortunately with all the stress and studying for XXXX I did not address this sooner. Once I passed XXXX and was able to work on other things I was reminded that he opened the account and that he was n't going to make payments. I did not make any charges, nor did I authorize this account to be opened and when I tired to explain this to Discover but they stated it did not matter I was still responsible for the payments because the account was brought to my attention sooner. It was my step father who helped raise me from an infant that opened this account fraudulently and since I was consumed with studying I was not aware of the details.
In the process of applying for my current position as an XXXX the company wanted a copy of my credit report and to know what accounts were outstanding so I had no choice but make a payment to Discover so that my job would not be in jeopardy due to a fraudulent account.
Bottom line : This was not opened with my consent, I did not under any circumstance use the credit line in any shape or form and this needs to be closed and done with. I am sending a copy of the policy report because Discover did not want to see it. Please help me resolve this, I should not have to go through this because someone opened accounts under my name without my knowledge or consent.

Not given enough info to verify debt
Complaint: XXXX sent me a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX stating 1 ) they had been retained by Discover Bank, 2 ) notice of opportunity to contact within 30 days to dispute the debt, and 3 ) a statement they are a debt collector. The letter was delivered uncertified.
II. I responded on XX/XX/XXXX. In that letter, I asked XXXX to validate the date. The letter stated to respond to a specific Notary Public ( who would verify and validate receipt of said validation ) within 30 days. The letter was sent by certified mail and received by XXXX approximately one week later.
III. I also pulled down my credit report and saw that this debt had been charged off.
IV. I was served with a lawsuit on XX/XX/XXXX by XX/XX/XXXX regarding this matter.
ISSUE : This firm stated they were retained by Discover Bank. That claim is patently false, since the debt was charged off. If Discover Bank was still pursuing this debt, it would not be at that status, so this firm has made a false statement regarding its disposition on this matter. Further, this firm has stated they are a debt collector further down in the letter. This indicates that they obtained this debt as third party debt collector.
The statements made by XXXX in the letter are fraudulent and misleading, and intended to intimidate. Further, XXXX has extended this fraud into court.

Complaint: So I have a Discover credit card. On their online banking service, they have the option to request a Credit Limit Increase. Whenever I got to that page, it asks for income, employer, and monthly housing payment. Below that is the following message : '' After reviewing your application, we may need to pull a credit bureau report, which may affect your credit score. In these cases, we will proceed with the application only with your consent. Below that message, it says Submit '' or Cancel ''. Now, maybe I am naive, but I took the message In these cases, we will proceed with the application only with your consent '' to mean that in cases where they need to pull a credit report, they will specifically ask me if I want to proceed. I think that is a reasonable interpretation of the verbiage. Anyhow, I proceeded with this under the impression that if Discover wants to pull a new CBR -- -- and thus cause a hard inquiry ) they will ask me for my consent. Well, when I hit the submit button, Discover immediately responded with Congrats, you 're approved ''. There was no screen after hitting submit that asked for consent to pull a Credit Bureau. I thought ok, that was easy, no problem. '' Later that day, I received an alert from my credit monitoring service that there was a hard inquiry from Discover on that very day on my -- -- CBR. I did n't put in any other requests or applications. When I approached Discover about it, they either did n't understand me, did n't understand their own system, or simply refused to acknowledge the situation.

Contacted me after I asked not to
Complaint: I had previously spoken to company about a payment, informed them that I was going to have to make the payment late due to pay cycle. Asked not to contact me. Contacted me next day, first day of late payment, told them to cease comm. supervisor assured me of cease com status and that no more calls would be made. 5 months later started receiving 3 calls daily about late payment. answered on third day. In call supervisor informed me that account was in fact notated to not call.
Do not know how my acct would show up if account is notated with no call notice.
No cease comm letter was formally written to company, but no respect to consumers wishes were taken after verbal verification of cease comm either.

Complaint: Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to file a complaint about Discover Bank regarding a missing transaction.
On XXXX XXXX, 2016. I authorize Discover Bank to draw XXXX dollars from my XXXX account and XXXX did debit this money to Discover Bank. However, after it received the money, the Discover Bank reverse this ACH transaction to XXXX on XXXX XXXX, then, the fund is missing. XXXX have never received it. And Discover Bank claim the fund is no longer in their side and do not want to take responsibility at all.
I have call Discover Bank several times and even have a three way phone call with Discover Band and XXXX on XXXX 2016 from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX. During that three hour phone call, they check everything, and the conclusion is that the Discover Bank Claim they either never receive the money from XXXX or have returned the money to XXXX, and XXXX claim they did send the money to Discover Bank ( the fund send on XXXX XXXX and clear on XXXX XXXX ).
As a result, the fund is missing, and either of them want to take responsibility for clients.
As a personal view, I do believe in XXXX and believe Discover Bank XXXX lie to clients.
I have all the documents to prove my statements, including the letter that Discover Bank sent to me saying they have returned the XXXX, 2016 ACH fund to external bank ( XXXX ). And I have XXXX 's confirmation number of the initial deposit to Discover Bank. I will attach those information to CFPB to better support the investigation.
Thank you very much for reviewing my case, Best regards.
