Complaint: I deposited a check for {$16.00} from reputed company. My balance at the time with discover bank was {$3600.00} +. The check was returned due to funds availability. My bank froze my account without informing me. I found that account was blocked, called customer service, directed to different number. Called the different number and they unblocked the account. I was told Bill Pay check supposed to be out on XX/XX/XXXX ( Electricity Payment ) was not sent out. I could not verify as my Bill Payment rights were blocked again. I went and paid through my other bank account but found Discover sent the check through bill pay but did not honor it though I had more than sufficient amount in the account. Now, I am hit with NSF fees by my electricity provider.

Complaint: I have XXXX issues. The most important is at the top. The other XXXX are smaller. Discover Student Loans has begun taking double payments from each money, starting in XXXX. I thought it was just some random issue with auto-debit but when I called to fix it, they claimed there was no issue. I 've attached part of a bank statement showing XXXX payments from Discover. I 've also attached the payment history from Discover 's webpage. As you can see, it is kind of a mess. But if you look at individual loans, you 'll see that each loan has actually had XXXX payments applied to it within a short period of time and then XXXX payment reversed. I did not make any manual payments, all happened automatically. The same thing happened at the beginning of XXXX. As you can also see, my bank account balance was sufficient for the payments made, and there is no reason a payment would be returned. Nor was any payment returned to my bank account. Obviously if they claim double payments were not made, they are probably not crediting those payments correctly. Additionally, I have XXXX smaller charged off loans with Discover. I have been making payments according to the payment arrangement we made. When I called to talk about the above issue, they claimed that the payments would need to increase despite our agreement and implied they did not intend to continue following the agreement. Regadless of whether a charged-off loan is due immediately, a subsequent agreement to accept a payment plan should be binding. Third issue, which may be more of a clarification, but I believe my loan payments jumped considerably around when Discover purchased these loans from XXXX. I have requested my Promissory note to see what the original terms were, but I do know that I was not always under such a large monthly payment, and the large jump in payments is much of the reason why the smaller loans ended up charged off.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX as was looking to consolidate my mortgage and my equity line. Knowing this was going to put me near loan to value I specifically asked XXXX XXXX, Doscover Home Loans Officer, about the mortgage insurance. I was assured that it would automatically drop off after five years. Now I 'm told he lied to me by XXXX and that I will have to pay it until XX/XX/XXXX unless I pay the mortgage down to XXXX. I have the specific emails where this was discussed. He even added that it could possibly come off after XXXX but only if I have the loan value down but assured me that after 5 years it would drop automatically. Attached is the email. Now I am stuck paying mortgage insurance for a long time and negating the savings of combining my to loans. It appears that this was possibly just someone trying to close deals to meet quotas and not being concerned about the customer. And yes I am now show. The document I signed at closing. While I am sure the closing attorney XXXX XXXX went over this document I had already made sure I was up to date on the mortgage insurance issue by discussing it in detail with the loan officer. I would like to know what my options are.

Complaint: One of my student loan providers is Discover. I 've attempted to call them and ask them for a lower monthly payment plan but they advised they do not have any plans like that. They only offered to provide a forbearance in which I 'm not interested in because I do n't want to have my interest increase. I mailed them a request in writing to list all the options they have to help me pay them but they responded stating to give them a call. I am a graduate out of XXXX XXXX University and live pay check to pay check to get by. I feel the loan providers should be more flexible especially because this is a very known issue that happens to XXXX and maybe XXXX of graduates. Something must be done, this is simply unfair. I feel XXXX XXXX University is a scam and they promise a lot of things that they do n't keep.
