Complaint: I do have a cash back checking account with Discover bank XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, UT, XXXX, and the XXXX number is XXXX and the account number is XXXX ). The Discover bank mistakenly input my bill payment amount as of XXXX dollars paid to my Discover Card on XXXX XXXX, 2016. The statement balance of my Discover card is just XXXX dollars. Apparently this transaction is voided. But, Discover bank billpaymnet service provider XXXX tried to withdraw the invalid fund from my cash back checking account with Discover bank twice on XXXX XXXX and XXXX, 2016 without my knowledge, which led to insufficient fee charge of XXXX dollars against my cash back checking account on XXXX XXXX, 2016. I need Discover bank to return the insufficient fund fee charge of XXXX dollars posted to my account on XXXX XXXX, 2016.

Complaint: I. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX sent me a letter stating they had been retained by Discover Bank, 2 ) notice of opportunity to contact within 30 days to dispute the debt, and 3 ) a statement they are a debt collector. The letter was delivered uncertified. II. I responded. In that letter, I asked, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, to validate the date. The letter stated to respond to a specific Notary Public ( who would verify and validate receipt of said validation ) within 30 days. The letter was sent by certified mail and received. III. I also pulled down my credit report and saw that this debt had been charged off. IV. I was served with a lawsuit on XXXX/XXXX/2016 by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX regarding this matter. ISSUE : This firm stated they were retained by Discover Bank. That claim is patently false, since the debt was charged off. If Insert Original Lender was still pursuing this debt, it would not be at that status, so this firm has made a false statement regarding its disposition on this matter. Further, this firm has stated they are a debt collector further down in the letter. This indicates that they obtained this debt as third party debt collector. The statements made by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX in the letter are fraudulent and misleading, and intended to intimidate. Further, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX has extended this fraud into court.

Complaint: I was sued by Discover Card ( DC ) for over {$14000.00} on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. The balance limit was {$11000.00}, and the interest rate went from zero % to 29.99 %. I did n't owe {$14000.00} nor anything near that amount. However, my husband was ill from XXXX on so I could only pay the minimum payments and when I was short on $ for his medicines ; food ; and gas ; I would occasionally pay by credit card. The interest rate kept rising and the balance was n't getting smaller. I kept telling them my situation and that I was the only XXXX working and to please reduce my rate but DC refused. I finally had to stop making payments in XXXX so that I could pay for my husband 's medical bills. While trying to figure out how to fight the lawsuit, I XXXX XXXX " lawsuits against Discover Card '' and found the Joint Consent Order Docket # XXXX ; FDIC XXXX & XXXX XXXX. I read how DC was supposed to automatically refund their customers for the " safety products '' without anyone contacting for reimbursement or reduce the amount from amount owed. I was never notified that there was a lawsuit against DC and I was never reimbursed for the deceitful business practices by DC. I remember calling DC every month to stop charging me for these " safety products '' but they never did. Finally, when they posted that last XXXX, it put me over the limit, then they charged me an over the limit fees! Early on, DC also habitually charged late fees of {$39.00} even when I was n't late. I realize that they were doing this until after about a year of helping my mother-in-law when she passed away from XXXX. I called DC many times during my lunch break to have the late fees reimbursed. The refused. Finally, they removed 1 months worth but refused to go back to the prior year. I asked for copies of my statements that were blocked from me by DC and asked them to go back as far as XXXX. They went back to XXXX but some of the months were missing, so I still do n't know how much more they owe me. Also, every time I filed papers in court I had to pay fees ( I did n't have a lawyer because I am a widow since XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and am on a limited income ). The judge did tell me that DC had the burden of proof to show the court that I owed {$14000.00}. The court date was scheduled for XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. A week before the court date, their attorney tried to get me to sign an agreement that I would n't sue DC and not to tell anyone about the agreement, etc. I asked if DC would improve my credit report because my credit was in the toilet but their attorney was n't very encouraging. The more I thought about it, the more upset I was getting. So I contacted their attorney and told them : " DC could n't follow a Federal Court order, why would you think that they follow an agreement signed by me? I will see you in court! '' ( I did n't sign it. ) The day before the court date, their attorney e-mailed that they were dropping all charges against me and were cancelling the court date. I believe they owe me for all the safety products that I did n't ask for {$550.00} - could be more since some statements were missing ; late fees ( approximately a year worth= {$460.00} ) ; over the limit fees {$110.00} which was their own fault for charging the fees in the first place ; all the court fees I paid = {$550.00} ; not to mention the toner, postage ; paper ; and for pain and suffering for this year of XXXX that I went through - I would say whatever the maximum the court allows {$2500.00} - {$5000.00}. They never did send me the application I signed, because if they had I am pretty sure that it did not say that " someday DC will charge you 29.99 % ''. Because if it had, I would have ran straight to the shredder! I never did have my way in court so that the judge could rule in my favor! They sued me for {$14000.00} but the statements did n't show the charges! DC expected me to pay them for the next 47 years minimum payments of {$300.00} which would come to {$160000.00}!

Complaint: In XXXX of 2015, Discover Bank 's customer service person advised me by phone that, following 3 different months of writing more than XXXX checks/month on my money market checking account, I had reached the limit, and that a XXXX month would cause this account to be closed. This message was confirmed in a D. B. letter dated XXXX, which I received in early XXXX. I then wrote XXXX checks, including XXXX to the IRS for XXXX XXXX estimated tax payment due XXXX. However, on XXXX, I learned that this account had been closed XXXX when D.B. sent me a check for $ XXXX. The consequences of D.B. 's actions were : fees for returned checks from the closed account ( including XXXX for {$270.00} by the IRS ) ; stress caused by D.B. 's NOT advising me that the account was being closed on XXXX ; desperate attempts were required to provide funds for other checks, even though the money market account funds were sufficient ; even though I was told that a XXXX month of XXXX checks would trigger a closing, I lost control of my personal finances unnecessarily. The injustice of this is obvious to me, especially because I also have a regular checking account with D.B., into which D.B. could have transferred the $ $ before closing the money market account. This I could have arranged, if I had known before the closing that it would happen. The financial penalties ( exceeding {$300.00} ), plus the aggravation when several checks were returned for insufficient funds that were totally unnecessary should be borne by D.B. I have kept records of the transactions named above until this matter is resolved to my satisfaction.

Don't agree with fees charged
Complaint: I was told that Discover student loans will be participating in a loan modification but every time I call to have my 11 % interest rate reduced, they ca n't do anything about it. It is unheard of to pay 11 % on a loan that I can barely afford. They only tell me I can defer the loan or go on forbearance in which the amount that I will owe each month will only get higher. No one is helping me out on reducing the interest of the loan.
