Complaint: I have private student loans from Discover Student Loans ( original lender XXXX..The Student Loan Corporation ). XX/XX/XXXX, the co-signer of my XXXX loans filed for bankruptcy. This placed my loans in the delinquent category because of XXXX 's policy and were reported as negative accounts on my XX/XX/XXXX/XX/XX/XXXX credit report even though I was diligently making payments and have continued to do so from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX. I have been denied online access to my account since the bankruptcy was filed and have been sending in checks each month as an established payment plan in XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX, after reviewing credit reports from all XXXX agencies, I wrote a certified return receipt letter to Discover Student Loans asking them to amend negative accounts since I had not missed payments. This was denied. More recently, I received an email and have been receiving numerous harassing daily calls to repay. Again, a payment plan had already been established XX/XX/XXXX and I have been making payments.

Complaint: Last year my friend and I found out that Discover offered a matching bonus ( Double cash back ) program for opening a new DISCOVER IT card. Previously I had DISCOVER MORE card and I called customer service to swap my MORE card to IT card, and I was promised that I was qualified to earn the double cash back after my first XXXX bill cycle payments. Now after one year, I did n't receive my matching bonus but my friend did ( my friend also swap from MORE card to IT card ). Therefore, I called discover customer service to ask about this. The supervisor said that they do n't have any evidence shows that I enrolled in this program and they do n't keep the phone call record from last year so that they can not do any thing about it. However, I believe this is not a enrollment required program at that time and I called customer service to ensure I can receive the rewards since I swapped from another card to new card.

Complaint: Discover Card will not close my zero balance accounts. Als I am receiving credit card offers at my house, sent to my XXXX XXXX XXXX son. I have called many times to stop the mailings but to no fix. I even moved, ( my son does n't live with me he is in the armed forces 13 years now ) They followed to my new address when I did. Change of address, just in my name. Called son and he says he is also having exact same XXXX. Problems They wo n't close accounts and constantly send credit card offers which he does no want. The time period of this is over the last 13 years. I declared bankruptcy during that time and they still send offers.

Complaint: Discover Bank sent me a {$75.00} check as part of the settlement they reached regarding student loans. I deposited the check into my bank account electronically only to learn that Discover Bank had stopped payment on the check they sent me. I incurred a {$5.00} returned item fee due to a check that Discover Bank either ( 1 ) made in bad faith, or ( 2 ) should not have sent me in the first place.

Complaint: This complaint is with my Discover card account. I had n't used my card in over a year. In XXXX and XXXX, 2016, i had 2 automatic payment deductions from my bank account, as i had auto pay set up. Since i had not used my card, I contacted Discover card and found a fraudulent charge in XXXX 2016 from Intertrade corp for {$100.00}. They closed my account, issued me new cards and stated i am not responsible for the fraudulent charge and subsequent payments. They provided a credit on my new acct. of $ XXXX+ for the XXXX charges against my bank acct. I used the card to bring the balance to almost XXXX. Then Discover keeps putting the {$70.00} charge back on my card. Each time, ( 6 times contacting them about the same issue ) they reverse the charge stating they have no idea why it keeps getting put back on, as the entire transaction was fraudulent to start with.I last spoke with Discover on XXXX/XXXX/2016 about this, on XXXX/XXXX/2016 my balance was again brought to near XXXX. On XXXX/XXXX/2016 the {$70.00} charge was back on my card. I am calling them tomorrow ( XXXX/XXXX/2016 ) for the 7th time regarding this fraud charge. I have no faith in their ability to resolve this matter. I want to have this resolved, so i can close this account without negative repercussions on my credit report. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as i am getting nowhere speaking to their customer service.

Complaint: I recently refinanced my loan ( after a lot of hard work ), and discovered that I previously made payments to the loan equal to almost twice the original loan amount. This sounds crazy to me, and I think I may have been taken advantage of by the loan provider. Please note I only finished my degree ( XXXX ) XX/XX/XXXX, and the original loan taken out was for my degree. The original student loan was for : {$42000.00} I noticed they gave me an obscenely high interest rate of 11.75 % - unsure if that was even legal in the first place. I simply do n't know, and am concerned I was taken advantage of. In their summary I see the following : Payments To Date {$80000.00} Principal {$64000.00} Interest {$16000.00} Late Fees {$0.00} I wanted to know if there is any protection for consumers when a loan provider takes advantage of us. Is there any protection so we do n't spend almost two times the original amount. I would be debt free right now if it was n't for them.
