Complaint: Based on information, belief, and observance, my Discover Card account was opened using a line of credit from my corporate affiliation with my investment company. I open a Discover Card account on or about XXXX XXXX. I later added an authorized user to the account. Subsequently, extra cards began to be ordered under the authorized users name without my knowledge/permission or the authorized users knowledge/permission in about XXXX XXXX. Discover markets its cardholders are never liable for unauthorized charges on the card. However, Discover misled me about the status of the disputed charges I reported when I made Discover aware of the additional cards and charges on the account. Instead of closing the card under fraud, Discover left the card open until XXXX XXXX. During this 2 year time span, disputed charges reappeared on the account along with new charges while other accounts numbers were also open. I have determined the charges in dispute amount to {$810.00} which discover refuses to credit to my account as a result of the fraud. It appears a line of credit for my company was opened similar to my XXXX XXXX account which I learned had XXXX extra cards despite me being the only authorized user of the account. In the alternative, I believe Discover employees or third party contractors opened an account in the authorized users name when the user was added to the account and began making charges which posted to the account and charges which were not viewable online or on statements. I have had to make complaints of mail tampering as a result of Discover not maintaining my updated mailing address. Based on information, belief, and observance XXXX XXXX XXXX is an agent for XXXX XXXX XXXX who may be of some relation.

Complaint: Discover Financial Services, through its Discover Card credit card, is taking consumers that carry a revolving debt to the cleaners. When a consumer is granted a lower interest rate, that rate does not apply to the current balance but only to future balances. Then to further insure that they continue to pick the pockets of the consumer in the form of interest charges, future payments made by the consumers are applied to the newest debt at the lower interest rate first. This allows the old debt to continue accruing interest charges at the higher rate.

Complaint: This is a follow up to Case # XXXX. I was originally told to wait 30 days for the CRAs to remove the inquiry. It has now been almost 8 months since I was told this would be removed and it has been over a month since this case # was supposedly resolved and yet the inquiry continues to show up as a hard inquiry on both XXXX and XXXX. This MUST be removed immediately! I will not wait another 30 days! Why does it take so long to be removed? It certainly does n't take that long to be added!!! I plan on purchasing a home in the very near future and this will affect my interest rates. I want this removed immediately or legal action will follow shortly!

Complaint: My discover it credit card account was closed by Discover yesterday without any notice. I realize this case by receiving email from XXXX saying my payment is not successful. I never missed XXXX payment and did not do anything improperly. I was wondering why this is happening and called the service center. The only reason I learnt is " BUSINESS REASON ''. Not sure if this will affect my credit score. After searching on XXXX, I realize this is not only for me. Many XXXX card holders experienced the same situation. Hope this is not a discrimination thing.

Complaint: I had a 0 % interest rate on a Discover Card, which expired on XXXX/XXXX/16. There is an existing 0 % rate, which expires on XXXX The card has never been used for purchases since I obtained these rates ; thus the only balances on the card are the expired rate, currently in the amount of {$7100.00} at 15.24 % and {$3600.00} at the 0 % rate. I have consistently paid well above the minimum payment due ; yet, the amount over the minimum rate has not been applied to the interest-bearing balance, most of which has been applied to the 0 % rate.
Consequently, my 0 % balance has gone down, while the interest-bearing principal has remained at roughly the same amount or increased. This is contrary to similar situations on other cards ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX ) in which the interest-bearing amounts have gone down consistently, along, with the 0 % rates. I have consistently called Discover to inquire about this and have been told that interest is accruing on a daily basis and that the interest-bearing principal is consistently increasing. Again, I never use cards which have promotional rates for purchases and my interest-bearing principal on other cards with expired rates has shown marked decreases ( even those with higher interest rates ).
My understanding is that anything paid above and beyond the 0 % rate is applied to the interest-bearing amount. Again, my other cards with expired rates show marked decreases in interest-bearing amounts, while Discover Card apparently applies a different protocol. I would appreciate having the CFPB look into this matter so that I can determine if I am mistaken or if DiscoverCard has found a way to keep the interest-bearing principal as high as possible.

Complaint: My Discover card, # XXXX, exp XX/XX/XXXX, was issued with a micro chip to replace my prior card. In that process Discover either erased or did not transfer my information from the prior card XX/XX/2016. Then I received my bill for that month of {$14.00} -- the entire balance of the account. I called in by phone and paid the account with the bank information on file with them for at least the last five years and received confirmation for the payment. The next month I received a bill again for {$14.00} but I did not contest it because I thought the payment had just not yet been posted. XX/XX/XXXX when the bill came it was on the bill again, a charge for {$14.00}, and I called to find out whether there was some error, some recurring charge I did not approve, so I talked to a representative by phone and paid the bill again! I clearly stated that this seemed to be the same bill as the month before, no research was done by the rep and payment was applied again. XX/XX/XXXX when I received the bill again for the third time I asked if it could be researched as I had not charged anything on that account since XX/XX/XXXX. The rep came back and said that when the card was replaced my bank account on file had been deleted so it was showing as an unpaid balance! I told her that the rep XX/XX/XXXX or at least XX/XX/XXXX should have told me this and there better not be a ding on my credit. I gave her my updated bank information, the {$14.00} was debited against the account and then I was dinged -- this was put in my credit file with all three credit bureaus bringing my credit score down over XXXX points! There is an audit trail of these events, I wrote Discover and asked them to remove this as it was their error that they removed my banking information and they did nothing. I am tempted to get a lawyer on this because this should be removed from my credit file by Discover.

Complaint: I purchased XXXX items from XXXX, the total price was {$33.00} and they denied that they used an old card. They say they used the card that was up to date, which is false, if they had, this problem would not have happened. I have a {$8000.00}. Limit and have a payment of {$170.00} due on XXXX/XXXX/2016, do n't know who put it on credit report, XXXX and all are on credit report, at once. Is there anything I can do to get them removed, my credit score went from XXXX to XXXX in a mighty swoop. I need some direction to get my credit score repaired. Thank you!!

Complaint: I rented a car from XXXX in XXXX XXXX for XX/XX/XXXX. It was a Hyundai Accent, XXXX I believe. I accepted the paperwork without checking the mileage ( unlimited allowed within XXXX California ) or the license plate ; I only inspected for damage trusting they were issuing me the correct car. All was fine, I drove about XXXX miles in XXXX XXXX, returned the car on time. 3 weeks later I see {$530.00} in additional charges on my Discovercard. XXXX sends me a XXXX violation showing the car violated a toll for XXXX cents in XXXX California at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I assured XXXX they had issued me a different car and asked that they check paperwork on other Accents issued the same time. I also disputed the transaction with XXXX submitting the only evidence I could find, a photo of the car, not tag, that appears blue ; a Discovercard receipt I signed at XXXX in a XXXX XXXX restaurant same Friday, and a screen shot of my tee time that same day at a XXXX XXXX golf course. I offered sworn affidavits from myself, wife, son and daughter in law, and others who would attest we were in XXXX XXXX that Friday. Discovercard would not consider anything other than the rental agreement ; their people are trained apparently to disregard any evidence other than the rental agreement. The result is if a mutual error is made, vehicles are switched between XXXX weekly rentals occurring about the same time, Discovercard leaves no way for that to be proved because they wo n't request records from XXXX. My only option is to go to court XXXX miles away over a {$530.00} dispute. The {$530.00} is {$50.00} for an admin fee and {$480.00} because they say the toll violation proves I was driving outside the restricted area. I do not believe Discovercard has conducted a " reasonable investigation '' when the only evidence they will consider is the document alleged to have been carelessly, or worse, issued. Yes I was careless in not confirming the paperwork matched the car but who would expect that to happen.
