Complaint: I would like assistance in disputing a charge on my Discover Card. I am a XXXX year old retiree who became involved with XXXX amongst many others.Also on my credit card their merchant 's name is different, It shows as XXXX And XXXX FL. I was contacted by an unsolicited telemarketing phone call last year. They offered me a very profitable online business, a website and training. They disappeared right after I paid them. I tried to get in touch with them and they would not return my calls. I opened a dispute with my credit card, Discover and they told me It has passed too much time and could not help me, they blew me off. I have been in touch with the Attorney General 's Office and they advised me that I have 540 days to dispute since they did not provide the services that they promised me. I am beyond frustrated with this situation, I hope you can help me get my money back.

Complaint: I have had a credit card in good standing with Discover since XXXX. In or about XXXX they started charging me a credit protection fee with out my knowledge. I was a student at the time and my parents paid my credit card bills so I never noticed the charges on the account. In XXXX ii was in a class action suit against discover for charging me this fee and received a check for this situation however with out my knowledge they continued to charge my account up until I took over my bills from my parent in XX/XX/XXXX when i noticed this charge and called them to immediately remove it as i did n't authorize these charges.. Discover states I verbally committed to these charges. # 1 I was XXXX # 2 If I was in a class action suit why would you continue these charges after the lawsuit? # 3 I have called numerous time with people at discover stating they would credit me yet i only received a credit for XXXX and a letter stating they are only willing to go back 6 months.

Complaint: I was contacted by an unsolicited telemarketing phone call from a company called XXXX that promised me a very profitable at home online business. I paid them {$3000.00}. It seemed very good to turn it down. They said they would train me on how to find drop shippers so I could sell on XXXX, XXXX and any website for that matter. They have done nothing to help me and I was unable to locate any dropshippers that would turn even the smallest profit. They provided no support whatsoever in order to help me. And when I requested my refund they turned me down and stopped answering my calls. I did not make any profit out of this mess. They did not provide the services that I purchased. I feel I was taken advantage.

Complaint: I discovered that someone opened a Discover card account without my knowledge or consent. When I found out, I sent Discover all sorts of information showing that I was the victim of ID theft, and asking them for what information they had to give them the authority to open the account, but they keep sending me pages and pages of statements that they said they mailed me ( the never did ).

Complaint: Discover card has reported me to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX as having been 30 days late, I never received a statement from Discover and sometimes do n't get all of my mail and that is why I requested electronic correspondence ( not statements ) and alerts to let me know that I have a new statement, payment, payments when the card is not present etc. I have this with all of my other credit cards and I have an absolutely perfect credit history but unfortunately Discover did n't alert me of a payment due and I did not receive a statement so I was alerted by experian ( I use all XXXX agencies to monitor my credit ) that an event occurred on my credit bureau when I say that Discover reported me for being 30 days late I paid the account in full which was only {$170.00} and spoke to a representative and discussed the situation, they understood but claimed that they could n't help with the lateness, I then called back and spoke to a manager and he told me that my account was NOT set up for electronic communications and then set the account to do so he also told me that he could n't do anything about the past. I continued to discuss the situation but they were unmoved by the situation I have a perfect credit history that I always worked very hard to maintain that has been ruined by this blemish which in some cases dropped my Fico score by XXXX points, I really need somebody to step in and make sense of this situation to the agencies that report credit history and have them understand that the reason this happened is because they failed to accommodate my request to send corespondence via email.

Complaint: This account was a joint credit card with Discover card the account was to increase my credit score. I did not use the card nor did I have a card to use. The primary card hold was doing me a favor, but ended up hurting me. I 've been trying to get my name removed from this card and trying to get it removed off of all my credit reports. The primary card holder abused the card and was n't paying the monthly payments. The only way I found out that the bill was n't getting paid I download an app to see how my credit score was looking boom it popped that the account I have joint with has n't been paid for months and that it was maxed out. I am trying to buy a house with that joint account with her it 's preventing me to accomplishing my goal in purchasing a home. Can you all please do something to get that account removed from my credit reports and taken. I 've have lost large amount of money trying to pay this off on something I did not use. Its to the point now where I can not continue paying for something I did not use or have access to.

Complaint: myself and discover credit services had an agreement that I would pay {$76.00} a month till my account was paid down. This amount was automatically withdrawn from my account each month excluding one error on Discover Banks side. I cancelled two payments with Discover for the {$76.00} because the amount had already been paid prior to the due date this last month/ end of XXXX. Early XXXX I paid off my account. I then go to check my account and I see that my statement this month I have {$76.00} in fees. I was charged a late payment fee and a returned check fee for a cancelled payment. that was never supposed to post. Both confusing to me I contacted Discover and they list no explanation. The worst part of this is I spoke with Discover last week when making payments and they told me I would have no issues. Now I get a {$37.00} fee for not making my full minimum due even though I paid above the agreed amount. In fact I was less than {$25.00} short of the minimum payment and no one ever mentioned I needed to pay the final amount or I would be charged a fee. In fact I stayed on the phone for an extended span of time so I would n't be charged a fee.

Trouble with how payments are handled
Complaint: My student loan that was opened originally through XXXX in XXXX. I had good working relationship with them in handling my student loan payments. That loan was sold to Discover around XXXX or XXXX and since have not success with working out terms of my repayment which fit my current situation which resulted in a number of late payments that are showing up on my credit report from these loans. This late payment occurred due to a job loss and was underemployed for some time. I also had a child in XXXX which was an added financial stress along with these student loan debts coming due during the same time. As a result, I struggled to maintain the excessive payments I was told to pay without any regard for the lack of income I had at the time. I was completely unaware and was never educated on when these student loans came out of deferment, and I was never counseled on the options to keep the loan in deferment/forbearance while I seek gainful employment and was only told come up with the money or get reported to the credit agency. After several years of going back and forth with this company, I am finally able to shift financial obligations around in order to get on track with keeping up payments on a regular basis.
I am not disputing the fact that these payments were late. I am simply writing this letter in hopes of receiving a good will gesture from Discover. I have worked extremely hard to get back on my feet and repair my credit. I am at a point now where I am attempting to buy a house. Having these late payments on my credit report is making it very difficult for me to get financing for a home. As I said, I understand why these late payments are reporting, but I do not feel that they truly reflect my credit worthiness and my true payment pattern. Things would have been much different if I had been counseled and made aware of my repayment options when the loan came out of deferment.
I am asking, as a good will gesture, that these late payments please be removed from all XXXX credit bureaus. I also have an account that was charged off because the payment was a few days late and the company still maintains and collects payment on but is showing on my credit as charged off and no payments are being made. I have taken the time to educate myself on how to avoid this from happening in the future, I have taken responsibility, and I have worked extremely hard at bringing all of my loans current and keeping up a steady pattern of positive payments. I know a lot of borrowers have struggled immensely at making timely payments and settling on fair repayment agreements with lenders over the last few years, and I would like to think that I am in the minority of people who have taken the time and effort to straighten my situation out with little to no help from anyone but myself. Hopefully my efforts will be rewarded and you can see fit to remove these late payments particularly the charge off from the XXXX credit reports as I look forward to a great future for me and my child.
