Complaint: I paid for a hotel stay in XXXX 2016 with my Discover card, and subsequently disputed the charges based on the mold and other health issues in the room, lack of promised services, and property theft by hotel staff. Discover processed the dispute, placed it in my favor by completing a chargeback, and then reversed it today claiming their charges were correct. I have disputed this several times with the company and with Discover, and Discover refuses to handle the issue professionally and appropriately.

Complaint: 0N OR ABOUT XX/XX/XXXX2015 I RECEIVED A DISCOVER CARD IN THE MAIL .I DID NOT KNOW IF IT WAS REAL OR NOT I NEVER REMOVED IT FROM THE LETTER. I CALLED DISCOVER CARD COMPANY THE XXXX OF XXXX 2015 TO REPORT THAT I RECEIVED IT AND IF IT WAS REAL THAT I COULD NOT FIND IT SO I REPORTED IT LOST OR STOLEN. THE MAN SAID IT WAS REAL AND SOMEONE ACTIVATED IT THE DAY BEFORE AND HAD ALMOST MAXED IT OUT. AFTER HE TOLD ME WHERE IT WAS USED I CONFRONTED MY EX DAUGHTER IN LAW, WHO HAD BEEN AT MY HOUSE WITH THE GRAND CHILDREN THE DAY BEFORE. SHE CONFESSED I CALLED DISCOVER BANK AND GAVE THEM THE INFORMATION AND HER NUMBER. SHE SENT ME SOME MONEY FOR THE CARD BY MONEY ORDER AND I CALLED AND SENT IT TO THEM. I FILLEDOUT THE FRAUD REPORT FOR DISCOVER AND WENT TO SHERIFF OFICE TO FILL OUT COMPLAINT. AFTER XXXX TRIPS TO SHERIFFS OFFICE OFFICER XXXX SAID THAT HE TALKED WITH DISCOVER AND THEY WOULD HANDLE IT INTERNALLY. ALL THEY DID WAS CONTINUE TO BILL ME I GOT A LETTER STATING IT APPEARED TO BE FRAUD BUT I HAD NOT DISPUTED THE CHARGES SO I DISPUTED THE CHARGES IN WRITING. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE I CAN DO .I DID NOT ASK OR ACTIVATE THE CARD OR USE THE CARD AT ALL. I HAD THE CARD CANCLED THE FIRST DAY I CALLED XXXX THAT THEY NOT SEN ANOTHER CARD. FOR SOME REASON THEY CHANGED THE ACCOUNT NUMBER BUT DID CANCLE THE CARD BUT THEY ARE HOLDING ME RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BILL I NEVER ASKED FOR OR AGREEDED TO BE RESPONSIBLE. WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO DO. Complaint: I am getting ready to retain an attorney so that I can take legal action against Discover Financial Services. Dealing with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare, but I 'm going to give them XXXX final chance to resolve this matter to my satisfaction. That is what I 'm hoping to accomplish with the help of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. If Discover Financial Services is still unwilling to help me, I will contact my legal counsel to file the lawsuit. In XXXX, Discover Financial Services became aware that I was disputing the account ending in XXXX. However, they did not notify the credit bureaus until XXXX of XXXX. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, specifically FDCPA 807 ( 8 ), mandates that banks, credit card companies, and collection agencies have 30 days to contact the credit bureaus when they become aware negative information is being disputed. This makes Discover Financial Services liable to me for damages of up to {$1000.00}. I have detailed records, including USPS receipts, showing that Discover Financial Services missed the 30 day deadline. On top of that, before I paid off the account, they sent it to an unscrupulous collection agency. This collection agency illegally revealed my debt to multiple third parties in recorded messages. These are very serious violations, and unfortunately for Discover, I still have those recordings. I will therefore be seeking an additional {$5000.00} in punitive damages.

Complaint: Discover credit needs to be investigated for fraud, and bait and switch practices. There is no {$0.00} fee charged each year, despite the attached online statement made by their company. Fees ARE indeed charged each year by Discover, they are exorbitant, and they continue to lie about it. This is a discriminatory practice, and it is unlawful. Discover should not be allowed to make this statement, as it is a lie. Discover does indeed pull a bait and switch on the consumer as a result of this front page statement, and continues to advertise incorrect information to an unsuspecting public. This continues the complaint I made about Discover Credit on XXXX XXXX, 2016 ; to date have received no reply from Discover to my complaint, and in fact, continue to be ignored by Discover Corporation regarding my email dated XX/XX/2016.This is a bait and switch complaint. It will continue to be this way until I receive a correct settlement of account for my credit card balance for Discover credit minus the yearly fees that their company supposedly does not charge. I need the corrected balance minus the exorbitant fees that I was charged was all that I requested. This request as per XXXX/XXXX/2016 continues to go ignored. Why?! Complaint: I have reviewed my credit report and noticed some errors being reported by Discover on my credit file. I disputed the errors with the bureaus and Discover verified them even though that each bureau has different information. On XXXX/XXXX/16 I then sent a letter to Discover asking for documents to review and verify information reported and they ignored my request. On XXXX/XXXX/16, I sent another request to where they replied with a letter stating the account was settled in less than full and everything was reporting correct. Unfortunately it is not the case, the information being reported is different across all XXXX bureaus. I am not disputing if account was settled, I am disputing the accuracy of information reported as afforded to consumers by the FCRA.

Complaint: I wanted to sort out a bill that I had with a hotel that I stayed in During XX/XX/XXXX. There was about a XXXX dollar discrepancy with the total costs, this turned in to overdraft charges are lot of falsified information that should have never been presented to me about my initial dispute. The dispute was handled poorly and to make matters worse, the entire customer service term treated me like XXXX. They eventually would just leave me online- during out chats, they would never be consistent on information that had a clear yes or no answer- it was n't until I contacted their HQ to explain my concerns, that the situation started turning around. To make matters worse, I was getting charged on specific fees that I had called in days before to warn DFS- that the COMPANY IS BOGUS. FURTHERMORE, I DO NOT Beleive that I was ever notified by DFS that during months where i was not using the CC, that NO STATEMENT WHATSOEVER, NO RECORD of ANYTHING not even an online PDF notating the month of inactivity would be created. I found this to be UNHEARD OF THEM. THe reason why this is ALSO A PROBLEM is bc I BELIEVE THAT THIS GOES AGAINST CERTAIN FDA Regulations and I am hoping to get this situation investigated. My Desired Solution- DUE TO ALL THE OF FASLE INFO PROVIDED TO ME, and HOW Representatives lied to, telling me to " just obtain -- -- -- '' and we can take it from there, but DO IT IN 3 DAYS, was the most stressful catalyst that did not serve any purpose. Just another misinformed employee, giving me falsified information and basically HOMEWORK. I do not wish to pay for this particular dispute, because it has caused so much HEADACHE and has been so time consuming- most of the time because nobody I spoke with really had any idea on the matter, until I FINALLY spoke to a billing manager, AFTER I went on my wild goose chase, and SHE hung up the phone on me. I could n't believe what was happening to me, essentially I just wanted to inquire about a charge that was off by max XXXX dollars, somehow I ended up talking to the rep about my issue might being worth JUST DISPUTING THE ENTIRE CHARGE. That idea never even came to my mind. ICING ON THE CAKE- Many automated voice messaging systems say that your call might be monitored or record- GUESS WHAT? MY WAS FULLY MONITORED by a MANAGER, as some kind of TEST for a SUPERVISOR OF HIS. So on top of telling me some very BAD ADVICE THAT THE SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE, they then treated me like I was subhuman, AND TO MAKE SURE I KNEW they THOUGHT I WAS SUBHUMAN- I BECAME A TEST FOR ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES TO TAKE DURING HIS SHIFT. I have names, employee numbers, everything and I am beyond happy to share every detail of INSANE this situation was. DFS BLOCKED ON TWITTER when they claimed to be responsive 24/7. I CAN GO ON AND ON about why I am so UNHAPPY with a CC company that I HAVE BEEN WITH SINCE I WAS SEVENTEEN- I am XXXX NOW. STILL CANT BELIEVE THIS.

Complaint: I have a loan through Discover. I 've always paid on time. Around six months ago, I had a problem with the automatic payment & it did n't go through, so I called & made the payment. they were going to have the late payment taken off & get back to me. They never did either. I called them again & they said they 'd do both-but never did. Then I accidentally made two payments in one month which I could n't afford & they said they 'd ckeck into getting one payment back to me & also reverse late payment charges & get back to me. They did get my one payment back to me but never reversed the late payments & once again did not get back to me. The late payment is increasing & I need help with this. Also for some reason my payment has increased slightly & this is in addition to the late fees. I spoke to them about this & they were going to fix it but never did.l

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2016 Discover Credit Card received and acknowledged receipt of {$1100.00} total balance payment for my credit card account which card 's identification number I changed after I complained about XXXX fraudulent charge made to my account which have since been credited to my account. However, my account balance payment of {$1100.00} has not been credited to my current account and past due charges have been levied on my account # XXXX : {$27.00} and XXXX. Here is a copy of my current account status and balance : XXXX. Take notice that my current balance does not account for my payment of {$1100.00} received by Discover Credit on XXXX XXXX, 2016. I have called Discover customer service on XXXX XXXX and again on XXXX XXXX, 2016 and was told that they would investigate but did not assure me I would be credited the payment I made to the same account which I had requested due to the XXXX fraudulent changes to my account which they acknowledge. All parties I spoke with including the fraud department were indifferent to my complaint.
