Complaint: InXX/XX/XXXX I received a dunning claim from XXXX, PA, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX Florida XXXX on an account and debt that were not mine. I responded in writing denying both the account they referenced and that any debt was due from me. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I have received the identical dunning claim from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX Florida XXXX with the assertion they had " purchased the assets of XXXX XXXX XXXX ''. This seems an obvious, bogus corporate left hand-right hand game with an attempt to collect debts that they know are not legitimate. They need to be put out of business.

Billing dispute for services
Complaint: My Discover card company filed a dispute chargeback in XX/XX/XXXX. There was fraudulent activity on my account and the issue was resolved in my favor however the chargeback was reported to all the credit bureaus and my score dropped 40 points as a result thereof.
I called Discover card immediately upon finding this out in XX/XX/XXXX. Discover said that they sent a letter requesting for that to be removed to all 3 credit bureaus. I see that my score is still not reflecting this correction.
How do I get this removed? Discover has sent another letter today and said all three bureaus should be receiving it within 24 hours. Please advise.

Complaint: Discover Payment Protection service fees were added to my account without my consent. There is no evidence or record of me agreeing to this service that they have been charging to my account since XXXX. A total of {$890.00} of this specific Payment Protection fee has been collected by Discover from XXXX XXXX, XXXX to XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I called today ( XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ) at XXXX PST and spoke to a representative in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX UT who cancelled this service per my request, but she claimed I had signed up for Payment Protection but did not provide proof of enrollment.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I was automatically deferred for repayment by enrolling in a college that participates in the nation student loan clearing house. As a result of my deferment, the private lender, Discover Student Loans, removed a 0.5 % interest rate deduction I was receiving for on-time payments. I called the lender today ( XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ) ( after a secure message sent on their website on XXXX was not responded to XXXX to remove the deferment ( since I did n't want to be in deferment anyway XXXX and to return my account to repayment status, however, because of the way their system works, this repayment status wo n't take effect for another XXXX months in XXXX, therefore the XXXX % interest rate reduction wo n't be in effect until after that XXXX date. My interest is capitalized into the loan after deferment ends, so as a result of no action of my own ( since this was triggered by an automatic process XXXX, they removed a loan benefit from my account and will not restore it promptly, causing me financial loss as a result.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: My dispute is with Discover Card. XXXX XXXX XXXX charged me {$7200.00} to handle an IRS issue. I had to sign a form to authorize them to charge my card so they can start working on my matter. {$4000.00} was charged to Discover. XXXX never resolved the problem and left me hanging with the IRS. I had urgent letter from the IRS faxed to XXXX and the case manager never acknowledged two emails, four phone calls so I had to hire another tax attorney for another {$1000.00} to try and resolve the matter. Discover told me to mail my documentation and I did so and they sent me the contract that I authorized XXXX to charge my card that is fine if they did the job they contracted to do. There is a clause that all urgent letters be sent to XXXX immediately and the client ( me ) must respond promptly to their calls. I guess it does not work the other way they never got back to me until the BBB contacted them. Then their quality assurance person told me we can partially refund you if I drop all complaints against them and take down bad reviews. That is " Blackmail '' Discover is not working on my behalf they accepted the non fact that they provided the service which not the truth why would pay another {$1000.00} to tax attorney to take over the handling. I wrote to the CEO of Discover and waiting on response. This is " no brainer '' XXXX did not do what they advertise to do and told me what they would do. I been ripped off.

Complaint: For over XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX years I have been in a fight with Discover Card over over charges, money transfered ut on my cards to atheir fake accounts. When I called them it was always computer error or Hackers! And now I owe OVER {$40000.00} to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX and I do not know how many other cards that Discover set up using my name, Address, SS # phone # for money that Discover took from them in my Name!
And now they are taking me to court because I refused to pay for their computer errors and hackers!
This XXXX started after I put in a claim for payment protection plan due to me being coming a XXXX Veteran in XXXX of XXXX! The NY XXXX XXXX in XXXX of XXXX ruled that Discover to stop charging ALL their card holders for the Payment Protection plan and to stop setting up fake accounts that they are still doing!

Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: College : University XXXX XXXX Location : XXXX, CT It has been a nightmare dealing with Discover Student Loans. In XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX Discover Student Loans verbally harassed and disrespected me. They called me early in the morning and late at night, they hung up the phone on me, they took more money from my account than I authorized on numerous occasions, they gave me false information, and while all this was happening interest was accumulating causing my loan to go into default. In XXXX and XXXX they overcharged me on student loan payments. Discover created student debt stress for me by inflating my bills and misleading me about important benefits. I signed up for an Income based repayment plan and they took out more money than I authorized out of my account. They did this multiple times. I had to wait a week just to call Discover Student Loans to find out they did n't even start the refund process even though they said they would so they lied to to me. I ended up waiting an additional 2 weeks for one refund. Once I got the refund it was not the correct amount so I had to wait an additional week to get the correct amount. They stole more money out of my account a second time by taking more money than I authorized them to take. I had to wait another 2 weeks for a second refund. This type of illegal practice subsequently resulted in my private student loan accumulating interest while I was getting abused and ending up in default. Discover never gave me a fair chance at paying off my student loan. I have complained numerous times to CFPB and Discover since XXXX and here we are in XXXX with no help, 4 Years! The loan accumulated interest and got sent to a collection agency/lawyer. Discover Student Loans treated me like I was n't even a human being. I have never felt so disrespected in my life. Discover Student Loans is notorious for Illegal Servicing Practices.
I also feel as if race could have been a factor since I have a XXXX sounding last name and this is America! I know how people should be spoken to because I have a long history in customer service. The way I was spoken to, the misinformation that was given to me, the tone that was used during those abusive phone calls, and most importantly there overall practice felt like oppression. My credit is messed up because of this defaulted loan and I am emotionally stressed and my quality of life has been affected.
Discover did not provide the most basic functions of adequate student loan servicing for a portion of the loans that were transferred from XXXX including me. I encountered problems as soon as my loans became due and Discover gave me account statements that overstated their minimum payment. Discover denied me information that I would have needed to obtain tax benefits and called me at inappropriate times about my debt. Discover violated the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Acts prohibitions against unfair and deceptive acts and practices, and also the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
