Complaint: I have been a Discover credit card holder, in good standing, since about 2010. I recently noticed that I have been getting charged a Payment Protection fee every month. For quite a while now they have been sneaking in this almost {$24.00} fee monthly. When i looked into my billing history I realized that the " protection '' fee has been charged onto my account for the past seven years or at least as far back as i am able to search into my billing history. My husband got in contact with Discover to dispute this " protection plan '' which I did not sign up for. He explained to them that I never signed up for it and that i wanted to be refunded for the money i have paid them. The agent told him they could only reimburse us with 6 months of charges, which totaled {$140.00}. They did reimburse us but i am not satisfied with this reimbursement. They have taken so much money from me and clearly without my consent. I am up to date with my payments and have been very responsible to pay them. I think even their reimbursement is an admission of their guilt. I appreciate the effort they made, but it does not make up for the years they have been taking my money.

Complaint: I pay my charge cards the day after my Social Security Check in put into my bank. Last month I paid {$100.00} on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX to XXXX of my charge cards ... Some how Discover Bank took that money and applied it to XXXX of their fake account that they had open in y name!!! costing me {$45.00} in late fees!!! XXXX thing gets me about the CFPB XXXX per month complaints against Discover Bank and you do nothing but side with them! Also Discover Bank has been sued and lost in every federal court, State court and XXXX courts in the XXXX for setting up fake accounts and stealing money for cardholders, for hacking into people banks and taking theirmoney.

Keep getting calls about your loan
Complaint: My complaint is regarding Discover Student Loans. I receive 6+ calls a day EVERY DAY from 2 different numbers regarding being delinquent on payments to my loan. This starts as early as XXXX until as late as XXXX. These calls start even when I 'm only a day or two late on my payments. I have tried to speak with the company numerous times but they have all told me that they ca n't do anything about it because it is an auto-dialer. I have tried to work with the company to lower my payments but again, they told me beyond getting a forbearance, they are unable to lower my payments. I have had to block both numbers from my phone just to avoid being bothered by the calls while at work.

Complaint: I had a horrible experience with Discover Card. I have been with Discover Card for almost 20 years. Have never been late with a payment. I had a scammer put several hundred dollars worth of expense on my card. I called Discover Card for some help. Again, Discover Card did not have my back. This has happened before and Discover Card did not help me. I sent in two online payments like I normally do and twice the payments went through online but Discover Card told me that they did not accept the payments. {$750.00} worth of payments did not get accepted by Discover Card. When I called Discover Card they told me that I have now gone to 'Collections ''. Even though I sent in my payments online and online I was told that the payment went through, Discover Card told me that they did not accept the payments in a phone call that I made to Discover Card. I then asked for a payoff balance and told them to give me the exact amount as I did not want to receive another bill from them later saying that I still owed money to them. I was given the amount of my account which was in the {$9000.00} range. I immediately sent in the payment online and the payment was accepted online. I now just received a bill from Discover Card saying that I still owe {$110.00} interest payment. I payed the amount given immediately after it was given. Why do I still owe interest? Discover Card has been stealing money from me for years and they liked it so much that they do not want the ride to end. Please check into this as I intend to continue to complain until something gets done to help me look into how Discover Card has been ripping me off for years.

I was so shocked because i do treat my first discover credit card as a treasure.I keep using it very carefully, such as making payments in time, never had a late payment. Right now my credit limit is {$2500.00}, and i always keep my balance under {$1000.00}. So i really have no idea about why the company closed my account. Complaint: Discover card got me stiffed for over {$1700.00} My wife bought an airline ticket round trip from a thief travel agency She bought it ahead of time The agent issue a ticket and after the traveling date he cancelled the return ticket and sold it to someone else. He did that with more than ten people as she learned from the airline. She had XXXX coming back she had to delay her return 2 days and bought new ticket at the peak of the season one way was even more than the round trip. We had to dispute the charge I uploaded 36 Documents showing what that thief was playing around with a confirmed return tickets as a proof all what they did in the investigation that they asked the thief for a copy of the transaction I closed the account after being with them for 21 years we will stop taking Discover card into our business. She will close her account Once she 'll get the OK from The lawyer. By the way the other people that were scammed got their money back. Not recommended XXXX XXXX and XXXX are better

Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX the CFPB issued a consent order related to Discover Student loan servicing. My Discover account number : XXXX Discover sent me letters and a check for {$75.00} as part of the consent order. I spoke to Discover several times regarding my receipt of the check. I spoke to them on XX/XX/XXXX and again on XX/XX/XXXX. When I received my check I deposited it into my XXXX XXXX XXXX account. On XX/XX/XXXX the check bounced in my account. XXXX XXXX XXXX told me that Discover had placed a stop payment on the check. XXXX XXXX XXXX charged me a {$35.00} fee and a {$12.00} fee. I spoke to Discover again and they mailed me out another check. I spoke to Discover on XX/XX/XXXX before I deposited my newly received check and I was assured that this current check was good. OnXX/XX/XXXX I cashed the check with XXXX XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX7 XXXX XXXX XXXX debited my account for a return item fee for the check. I will once again be charged a {$35.00} fee from XXXX XXXX XXXX. When I called Discover they informed me that they no longer handle the refund checks and that I would need to speak from now on to the CFPB.

Complaint: Discover Student Loans went through a system migration and it effectively removed auto-pay information for their customers ( me included ). I noticed, via my bank account, that the monthly ( scheduled for XXXX/XXXX ) deduction did not occur so I followed up via my Discover account. It showed me as 9-days delinquent ( as of XXXX/XXXX ). When I called to obtain additional information I was eventually told that they were having issues with some kind of " system migration '' that ended up removing auto-pay information for their customers. I asked if these circumstances were widely known to which I was told " the company is aware ''. Given these events, I was told I need to manually make the payment, then once my account is current, I could sign up for auto-pay at the time. I was told there was no way to retroactively post my payment and the 9-days delinquency ( or late payment ) will stay with my account, although there will be no reporting to credit bureaus. This seems to be a potentially large scale issue, with no communication to customers, that they are technically delinquent on payments ( the only way I came to find out about this issue was proactively checking my own bank account to see if the payment went through ).

Complaint: Payment was due on my Discover card. I had n't used it in await, so I forgot that I had sign up for paperless statements. I return from vacation to learn that payment was past due. Contacted them and was able to drop late fee. A month later I apply for a mortgage, I find out this late payment is on my credit report and is going to affecting my loan rate. I contact them to have them remove it from my credit report, and was told they could n't. This is a 30 yr mortgage. I feel this is very unfair. I do n't always make my payments on time. I paid off two mortgages.
