Complaint: I have had excellent credit for several years, my credit score is above 750. I became unemployed due to things I could not control. I have not worked since XXXX XXXX XXXX. I got behind on two discover loans and have talked to them several times about working with me to resolve this problem. I want to pay them as much as they want the money. I became XXXX due to medical problems I cant help, and was recently approved for XXXX but will not receive any income for a month or so. I am supposed to get it after XXXX. I have talked to them about the posibility of lowering my interest rate of 12.99 percent and lowering the payments as the two payments I owe them are almost 900 monthly. I tried to work with a debt consolidation program before I lost my job and they said that Discover has their own debt relief program. This is a farce, since I have tried repeatedly to work with them to lower interest and payments until I get on my feet. I did get two months of unemployment and paid some lump sums on these two bills even though these XXXX would not work with me. I told them I have been struggling to buy food and pay utilities until I get my income on a regular basis but they do not care. I wish I would have not paid the money I did on these bills because I could have used it to pay my personal living expenses. It did nothing to lower my bill or interest rate. Discover XXXX really. They should have tried to help me, especially with my credit rating and constant not missing of payments before this unemployment spell. I do n't know if you can help me or not.
thanks, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Texas

Don't agree with the fees charged
Complaint: Discover student loans is currently the administrator of a series of student loans that were originated between XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX by XXXX. Over the last 6 months they 've increased my interest rate a series of times. I reached out and requested an explanation as my believe was my original loans were fixed rate loans. I was informed that I was wrong. I requested my original promissory note and loan origination documents and they informed me that they did n't have that on file and they needed to request that from XXXX. That was almost two months ago and every time I request an update, I 'm told it takes time. My issue is that they 've increased my interest rate without proper explanation as to why, and they ca n't prove to me it 's even something they are allowed to do. How is it even remotely legal for a loan company to purchase a loan and not be required to keep all of the original documentation on file?

Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Complaint: Discovers Customer Protection Services used the personal data that I submitted per their request and in defense of my initial ID theft claim for the acct. ending in XXXX to open a replacement XXXX account ending in XXXX ; using my valid credentials. Discover transferred the fraudulent acct balance of approximately {$3900.00} to the XXXX " replacement '' account ending in XXXX. The information I submitted in the initial ID Theft claim totally contradicted information that they relied upon to approve the initial fraudulent acct. ending in XXXX. Discover is now attempting to conceal information relevant to the fraudulent account by directing the Credit Reporting Agencies to delete all information relevant to that fraudulent account ending XXXX and to add the information from their " XXXX '' replacement account ending in XXXX. Discover never acted ethically while investigating the initial ID Theft/fraud claim and acted unscrupulously regarding my request for documents ; they never honored the document request submitted by XXXX Police Detective or myself. To this day, Discover has not produced any records of signed agreements, etc. pertaining to the fraudulent account. I insist that they produce documents. Particularly, given the history of class actions law suites filed against them for allegedly producing fraudulent credit card agreements in order to collect money from their cardholders in court.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: I filed dispute with XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX against XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$2800.00} for flooring installed on XX/XX/XXXX. The company did incorrect install which is clearly defined in an independent Engineering report that they paid for. They re-installed the flooring again incorrectly this year in XXXX, clearly defined in another Engineering report they paid for. I faxed reports and all other documentation supporting my case on XXXX. Discover took 28 days to acknowledge they have documents. I uploaded documents to them on XXXX as well. Discover supervisor XXXX told me today XXXX, unless I have document from XXXX XXXX stating I 'm due a refund or credit they will not be giving me my money back. Well, that is an idiotic statement. A dispute is because a merchant refuses to refund money. I have been given so many different reasons why I wo n't get my money back. It 's all made up lies by Discover. They are not honoring their contract with me, their customer that is clearly defined in their own terms and conditions. I spoke with XXXX XXXX in consumer advocacy executive department today. Got the same runaround from him. He told me he ca n't help unless the case is closed. Does n't a company have certainly legal responsibilities they have to abide by? They should n't be able to get away with this. I 'm told they will close case on XXXX. That 's 3 days. Hardly enogh time to adequately review my case. I was also told they do n't have to do anything because I 've waited over 120 days to complain. No where does my terms and conditions state this. They already made up their minds to not pay. How can your agency help me?
