Complaint: I have a 6 figure CD with Discover Bank which matured on XXXX. I called Discover 4 times, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. I also sent messages via Discover 's web site and received acknowledgments of my messages to close the account and send a check. On XXXX I talked with a supervisor, she told me my account would be closed and an EXPEDITED check would be sent to me. As of XXXX I have NOT received a check. As a matter of fact on XXXX I received a USPS letter saying I renewed my account. Even after they told me they would close my account. I received letters and Emails saying I RENEWED my CD. I have received 8 Emails 4 web site messages as well as calling 4 times to close the account and send me the proceeds. As of XXXX the told me they would send a check. I WO N'T BELIEVE IT UNTIL I GET THE CHECK.

Complaint: I recently pulled a credit report and I 'm seeing a lot of " In Collections/Charged Off '' accounts. Between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX I was enrolled in a debt consolidation program. All of my debts were settled with the creditors and paid in full. These accounts should not be reporting negatively on my credit report. One of the accounts I 'm referring to is a Discover Card account with a last payment made on XX/XX/XXXX ( says XX/XX/XXXX on credit report ). The original balance on this account was {$990.00}. The debt was settled for {$930.00} and paid as follows : {$460.00} ( XX/XX/XXXX ), {$230.00} ( XX/XX/XXXX ), and {$230.00} ( XX/XX/XXXX ).

Complaint: in XX/XX/XXXX i told XXXX precisely the garage door opener system i had and ordered the opener remote control item they said would work. it did n't. completely wrong. also no invoice was enclosed with the item, but the charge ( {$82.00} ) appeared on discover. after trying unsuccessfully to make it work XXXX sent me a second, different product, which did work. i asked for a shipping label to return the first, incorrect item. they sent me a label for the second, correct item which i wanted to keep. i contacted them again on XX/XX/XXXX and they said, " Upon checking on the order, I have see that you can return the item on store. Visitor ( XXXX GMT ) : ok thanks. i 'll take everything i got with me. XXXX ( XXXX GMT ) : Please visit store with your invoice and our team will help you! '' so i went to a XXXX store where they refused to take the item back. they said that they did n't carry it. i contacted XXXX again on XX/XX/XXXX and after a long talk, XXXX could find no record of the first purchase ( wrong part ) : " XXXX ( XXXX GMT ) : I believe in keeping transparency. The order number provided by you does not show up in your order history. '' i gave them every number on the package i could find plus they had my name, address, date of transaction, part number, etc. still they found no record, so they would not let me return the item. now discover has sided with XXXX, saying i must provide proof of return in order to get the charge reversed. I mailed discover transcripts of all chats ( several pages ) documenting that XXXX sent the wrong part, sent me the wrong return label, told me to go to the store where they refused the part, and finally had no record of me ever buying it so i could n't return it. how can i get proof of return when XXXX wo n't let me return it? i think i have done far more than my share to resolve this, including more than an hour and a half on chat and wasting time and gas driving to the store as they directed me as well as printing and mailing pages of transcripts along with every number concerning the part that i can find. sorry this was long. thank you for your patience. Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I telephoned Discover Bank that I would not renew my Certificate of Deposit ( CD ) which would mature on XX/XX/XXXX. I requested that the matured value in the amount of {$170000.00} be returned to me. On XX/XX/XXXX, approximately two weeks after the CD maturity date I had not received the money and I phoned Discover Bank and complained. The Bank account service person ( ASP ) acknowledged that the check had not been cashed and said that a new check would be issued. On XX/XX/XXXX, having not received the money, I sent a certified letter to the CEO of Discover Bank stating my complaint. A copy of the letter is attached elsewhere in this document. On XX/XX/XXXX I still had not received the money and again complained to the bank. I was again told that a new check would be issued. I said that I should receive compensation for the banks unreasonable delay in returning my money. The ASP said the bank would deposit twenty dollars ( {$20.00} ) in my savings account as full restitution. I declined the offer. On XX/XX/XXXX I received an Extremely Urgent XXXX delivered package containing the check -- -28 days after the CD maturity date. I am now again requesting that Discover Bank compensate me for the unreasonable delay in sending the matured value of my CD.

Complaint: Hello, I have spoken with Discover Financial a handful of times since I 've been with them. Roughly about 1 year ago I called asking them to please consider lowering my interest rate since it 's so high and it was becoming financially stressful to make the payment. My request was declined, but I was informed I would be notified in the future if I would qualify for a lower interest rate. About 3-4 months after that I received a letter that I understood informed me my interest rate would change from 16.99 % to 12.99 % as they have reconsidered the request I originally made and I would just need to wait a couple billing cycles to see the changes. Of course I was very happy and I waited a couple billing cycles but I did n't see any changes. I called discover about 2-3 months after receiving the letter and was advised by a MALE that the changes were pending but I would receive a letter informing of the changes and the amount I would be refunded since my request was being backtracked to the original date i request an interest rate reduction. The MALE i spoke with made some calculations and said i would be getting a refund of {$600.00} - {$700.00} and my new rate would be the 12.99 % as the letter stated and i was very happy to hear that. I waited and waited and I did n't see any changes so I called Discover a couple weeks ago and the first FEMALE I spoke with transferred me to a supervisor. The supervisor was very polite but she had bad news. She found the letter i mentioned to her and she said the MALE agent I spoke with provided inaccurate information. She said my interest rate increased to 16.99 % and I would not be receiving a refund at all. She did help me a little by crediting some interest but there are no changes being made to my interest rate or a refund being sent which is what I was told. This is very upsetting because I called Discover and the agent read the letter with me and explained all the benefits with interest rate reduction and a refund being sent and it was all a lie.

Complaint: Discover card claims to offer " Price Protection '' but the service is administered by a third party that is difficult to reach, long hold time, claims to not have access to account information so all information including address, purchase, contact information including email has to be restated to individuals with limited ability to spell and speak English. When contacting XXXX about the issues with the service provider they claim to have no access to claim information including if forms required have been sent The following is the correspondence from XXXX ; Hello XXXX, I understand your concern with the Price Protection benefit on your account, and not receiving the emailed forms. We want to ensure your feedback is heard, and you receive the most accurate response possible. For this reason your message has been forwarded to my attention. I 'll be happy to further assist you today. Calling your XXXX number results in prolonged hold times. I can tell you what will be an efficient use of my time and that will be reporting your fraudulent business practices to the appropriate agencies. Your blaming the lack of fulfillment of your obligations on being unable to see details is the same excuse your specialty department used when filling out the forms that I did not receive in the first place.

Complaint: I made a payment of {$380.00} to Discover Student Loans on XXXX XXXX, XXXX through my online banking. Without notifying me, Discover changed my account number, and due to the change, my payment was not credited to my account. I spoke with a manager on the phone, which is when I learned about the change to my account number. He then asked me to obtain a letter of remittance from my bank, which he said would help them track down the payment. He assured me the payment would be credited to my account as of the date that it was received. My bank mailed that letter to me on XXXX XXXX, and I uploaded it to Discover on XXXX XXXX. I have since emailed them 3 times through their online messaging system to ask why they have not found my payment and credited it to my account. Now they are telling me I need to call them if I want to discuss my options. I uploaded the letter from my bank again today. They have had my payment for over a month, have refused to locate and crefit it to my account, even though the entire situation was their fault, and they continue to make harassing calls telling me that i am behind in payments - which i am not! I expect them to find my payment, credit it to my account as of XXXX XXXX, and remove any interest that accrued on that missing payment in the last month! I also expect the harassing calls to stop, and for them to remove any negative information they sent to credit reporting agencies!

Complaint: I 've spoken with a customer service rep from my servicer previously and the issue has not been resolved. The servicer has continued to not issue statements to me for my student loan balances. I did not receive statements, or even notice that statements were available, for the months of XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. The servicer has created statements after payments were due and loaded them into my electronic account. As shown in the attachment ( see Discover Statements ), no statement has been created for the month of XX/XX/XXXX. The statement dates are typically the XXXX of each month and I usually receive an email notification that it is available on the XXXX of each month. There are two Regulation Z violations here : 1026.41 ( a ) ( 2 ) and 1026.41 ( b ). In addition, I received a call from Discover this morning stating that I have past due payments for the last two months. This is untrue and I have actually made two payments in the past three months well beyond the minimum amount due, including one payment of {$5000.00}. I asked to speak with a supervisor and he acknowledged that this was an error and that I have not missed any payments ; the servicer simply has not properly applied my balance. As a result, I consider the call I received this morning to be an abusive collection tactic ( XXXX ). I have attached a document ( Discover Correspondence ) showing all correspondence issued, in the past several months. Letters include confirmation of one-time payments, which they identified my payments as such because no payment was due ( since the servicer had not created statements for those months as of those payment dates ).
