Debt was result of identity theft
Complaint: I received a collection letter from a law firm representing Discover Bank. They claim I owe {$XXXX}. They demanded that I pay on the debt. The letter was addressed to me by a former name that changed XXXX years ago, not my current name. I was XXXX in XXXX of 2000. I have a credit card with Discover, but in my current name. I believe my identity was stolen and used to make charges on this account that I know nothing of. Discover had no correspondence with me prior to this letter. The letter did n't even let me know an account number. The law firm is now taking me to court to make me pay these fraudulent charges.

Complaint: I made a one time payment with Discover on an old bank account I had in the summer. Discover has been automatically trying to take payments since XX/XX/XXXX. I have been getting charged s return fee of XXXX for the last 5 months. Discover has not contacted me about this and have n't sent me a letter. Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I have been contacting Discover about my student loan account since XX/XX/XXXX They had accounting issues on their end which offset my balance. Two people contacted me, as well as sent e-mails and letter saying I did not pay on my account ( which I did, and those reps ended up finding those payments and then adding to the confusion by saying I missed another months payment, which I then had to clear again as well ). I provided proof of payments multiple times. I have even paid more than the amount due most months, so my balance makes no sense to me. I have been requesting a detailed payment history be sent via mail to e-mail to me, and no one has done so. I believe my balance is wrong or I would have been contacted at least by phone. Now, these " missed '' payments have hit my credit report eve though I warned them of that as well. I have almost every e-mail or message I 've sent them, on top of the proof of payments I 've also had to send in more than once. I really ca n't have this. I can provide more documents to prove I 've been reaching out, please just let me know if you need me to get more. They typically respond with a generic e-mail.

Complaint: Discover Bank withdrew funds for an XXXX XXXX to another one of my bank accounts on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. They have repeatedly claimed that they issued an XXXX XXXX instruction on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX as part of that XXXX/XXXX/XXXX Tuesday evening 's business to credit my account at the XXXX. However, those funds did not arrive at the XXXX until today XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, two days after they should have arrived for an XXXX XXXX transaction submitted with Tuesday evening 's business.
Discover Bank refuses to account for who had my funds on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and XXXX/XXXX/XXXX or to explain why my funds were missing for two days. Instead, they think that I am some XXXX XXXX who does not understand how the Federal Reserve Automated Clearing House system and its transactions work.
Furthermore, Discover Bank blames my XXXX for not properly crediting the funds to my account in a timely fashion, something that I believe that is defamatory to my XXXX and that I believe that can prove is not the case, basically, because my XXXX is not a XXXX bank that plays games with other people 's money. I have spoken with the XXXX, and they have said that no aspect of the XXXX XXXX was delayed on the XXXX 's end because of any exception handling or any other problem : this delay resides squarely with the XXXX.
