Complaint: I opened a complaint yesterday - CFPB XXXX - this complaint went to OneWest Bank who had someone call me today. The bottom line is OneWest Bank told me on XXXX that my debt of {$61000.00} was charged off in XXXX of XXXX. When I called OneWest Bank on XXXX it took over an hour to even locate me and my loan number because I was not in the system and because they acquired this debt from XXXX XXXX when OneWest Bank took over XXXX XXXX assets. On XXXX OneWest Banks Mitigation department told me to write up a settlement offer for 10 % of the amount they wrote off in XXXX of XXXX. I submitted a settlement offer of {$6000.00} along with bank statements, pay stubs, XXXX XXXX, bank statements and tax returns. I was told this process would take 30 days or less. I was assigned XXXX XXXX ( XXXXXXXXXXXX ) as my settlement agent. Since XXXX it 's been a absolute roller coaster trying to get this resolved with little to no communication. I was open, honest and forthright with all my information shared. Below is the timeline of events. XXXX I found out there was a OneWest Bank debt on my title report and was advised to call OneWest Bank to resolve. XXXX Called into OneWest Bank and they asked me to call XXXX. I called in and was transferred to the Single Point of Contact Team where they located my loan. I was told in XXXX of XXXX my loan was charged off for the amount of {$61000.00}. I was told to resolve this issue I would have to write up a Settlement Offer along with tax returns, paystubs, bank statements and XXXX and to fax in my settlement package which I did that night. I was told they would review my packet of information and there would be a resolution within 30 days. XXXX I received a letter from CIT Bank stating XXXX XXXX was assigned to my settlement offer. XXXX I called in to the XXXX number and was transferred to the Single Point of Contact Team where they told me my settlement offer was not assigned to anyone internally yet and to be patient. They also stated a XXXX would need to be ordered. XXXX I called in to the XXXX number and was told XXXX XXXX was assigned to my settlement offer and, to be patient, she will be reaching out to you. XXXX I sent XXXX XXXX an email ( XXXXXXXXXXXX ) with more information on my current situation, there was no response to my email. XXXX - I sent XXXX XXXX an email to follow up to see if she needed anything from me, there was no response to my email. XXXX - I sent XXXX XXXX an email to follow up to see if she needed anything from me, there was no response to my email. XXXX - XXXX XXXX emailed me and said she would order the XXXX. XXXX I emailed XXXX XXXX to get the contact information for the XXXX company so I could expedite the process, there was no response to my email. XXXX The realtor hired to write up the XXXX called me and stopped by my house at noon to take pictures of our house. He stated he would submit his XXXX to the 3rd party company contracted by OneWest Bank with a RUSH on the XXXX to get to OneWest by Tuesday, XXXX XXXX. XXXX I emailed XXXX XXXX that the realtor submitted the XXXX on XXXX XXXX and she should be receiving it that day. XXXX - XXXX XXXX emailed me and stated she hasnt seen the XXXX and to try reaching out to her on XXXX XXXX for next steps. XXXX I called in to the XXXX number and was told the XXXX arrived on XXXX XXXX and the settlement package would be submitted to XXXX XXXX supervisor along with the XXXX to get final approval. XXXX I emailed XXXX XXXX and asked where are we at with the process and the settlement offer, there was no response to my email. XXXX I emailed XXXX XXXX and asked where are we at with the process and the settlement offer, there was no response to my email. XXXX - I called in to the XXXX number and was told the XXXX was not received into the system and this process could now take more than 30 days. XXXX I opened a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as well as sending complaint emails to CIT Bank and OneWest Bank, all encompassed a detailed timeline of events seen in this document. XXXX ( XXXX ) I emailed XXXX XXXX and asked where are we at with the process and the settlement offer. XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX XXXX me an email stating she is busy and will get to my email when she has time. XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX XXXX me, This has been sent for a decision, however please note that the person who reviews these files is not back in the office until after the first of the year and thus I may not hear back until after next week. XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX XXXX of XXXX XXXX called me and asked if he could help I walked him through my timeline and situation. He asked me to email him the timeline as well as XXXX contact information. XXXX ( XXXX ) I emailed XXXX and asked if there was someone else available to review my settlement agreement so we could expedite this process. XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX XXXX emails me that he has taken this issue to his manager to help me and he also left a message for XXXX . XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX emails me a and states they want the payoff in full, there will be no settlement, she also attached a letter on CIT Bank letterhead stating the same message. What 's frustrating is this morning ( XXXX ) at XXXX XXXX is telling me it will take another two weeks and by XXXX today they have rendered a full decision to make me pay the full amount versus accepting my settlement offer or negotiating of my offer. The other issue I have is they wrote off {$61000.00} in XXXX of XXXX and now they are demanding {$63000.00} due to all of these miscellaneous fees and charges. What 's confusing is my loan is not even in their system yet they found a way to add additional charges to a loan that was charged off over XXXX years ago. Can someone please reach out to me and help me resolve this loan from XXXX and is there anyone at OneWest Bank who can intercede with the Mitigation Department so we can fairly deal with this matter. Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, we paid off in full, over a year in advance, our lease financing contract. XXXX XXXX would not give us a return shipping address at that time, to return our copiers ( 10 in all ) as per the lease. Our lease ends XX/XX/XXXX and once again, we requested a return address as well as a buy out price as per the lease. CIT has failed to provide a return address or a buyout price. With respect to the buyout price, we did receive the attached email stating that the buyout quote would need to come from XXXX XXXX, our local copier vendor, which no longer owns the copiers. The buyout price was many multiples ( {$35000.00} vs, {$2000.00} ) of the fair market value ( called for under the lease ) according to competing copier vendors. After questioning other copier vendors, I am told that it is a fairly common practice for financing companies like CIT to conspire with the local copier vendor, to hold the customer hostage so that the customer has little choice but to renew their lease or enter a new lease with the local vendor. The attached email is direct evidence of that practice as CIT is directing us to the local vendor, which does not own the copiers, to set the price while at the same time refusing to give us a return address. This practice is both fraudulent, deceptive and coercive, and the financing company has every incentive to do this to get continued future referrals of business from the local vendor.

Complaint: I recently opened a Premier High Yield Savings Account with CIT Bank. I received an email on XX/XX/XXXX that account had been funded. I received my first statement with CIT Bank and the total amount of funds sent to open account was short by $ XXXX. I tried logging in to my account ( I had logged in previously, shortly after account was funded ) and I believe the correct amount was shown in account. When I went to log in today, XX/XX/XXXX, I received message to call customer service. I did so. Customer Service told me I could not access my account and that a " specialist '' would be calling me in 3-5 days. I asked to speak to supervisor and she said same. They would not give me any information on why a specialist needed to speak with me. It is very upsetting to me that I have to wait 3-5 days to find out what is happening with my monies, not to mention that if I needed the money quickly, I can not have access.

Complaint: I took out a construction loan that transferred to a 30 year fixed mortgage with XXXX bank in XXXX. I then had to take out a second mortgage with them to complete the house I was building. My XXXX mortgages combined at XXXX. I made XXXX and my wife at the time made XXXX a year. That loan to income ratio is horrible and I was XXXX XXXX XXXX and did n't know better. I built the house, converted the construction loan to a fixed mortgage, and had a real estate evaluation done. It came in at XXXX. All looked good. Then the market crashed and my wife left. I used all my retirement to pay XXXX. I rented out the house to pay XXXX. I went broke to pay XXXX. I received an offer on the house just a few thousand less than the loan debt. I asked for a short sale. No response. Then, they held an auction, and bought the house from themselves (??? ) and never told me anything. I had to declare bankruptcy. I ca n't get anyone ever to answer any of my questions for more than ten years now! Please help.
