Complaint: Capital one platinum card reported a late payment which was made on time and was not over 30 days late which they reported as. I filed a dispute they fixed it on XXXX but not XXXX or XXXX and it dropped me over 30 points that it shouldn't have. And now XXXX and XXXX are trying to post other cards as over limit and such when they are not as payments have been made and it keeps knocking off points and not putting them back or reporting correctly. This is the worst experience ever inaccurate invalid info and it hurting me!!

Problem during payment process
Complaint: I tried to make my payment to capital one twice but for some reason or another the payment account that I made the payment had my card on hold which I didnt know while I was making the payment. While I was trying to correct the missed payment capital one proceeded to close my credit card account without giving me any kind of notice saying that they were closing it. I tried to go ahead and still apply the full payment to my account to pay it off and capital one would still not let me correct my account to keep it active.

Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Complaint: This is my 3rd complaint regarding a Capital One account that I have repeatedly been told by Corporate Office that all the charges on my account would be investigated. I have NEVER heard back from the Corporate Office via phone like I was promised and I was never given proof of the investigation results and how they came to verify that the charges belonged to me. The Federal Trade Commission clearly states that the creditor must provide " an explanation or written proof of purchase, along with a claimed error or request for clarification. '' I was provided with none of the above. It also states that " The Investigation '' You may withhold payment on the disputed amount ( and related charges ) during the investigation. You must pay any part of the bill not in question, including finance charges on the undisputed amount.
The creditor may not take any legal or other action to collect the disputed amount and related charges ( including finance charges ) during the investigation. While your account can't be closed or restricted, the disputed amount can be applied against your credit limit.
The creditor may not threaten your credit rating, report you as delinquent, accelerate your debt, or restrict or close your account because your bill is in dispute or you have used your FCBA rights. However, the creditor may report that you are challenging your bill. In addition, its against federal law for creditors to discriminate against credit applicants who exercise their rights in good faith under the FCBA. For example, a creditor cant deny you credit just because you've disputed a bill.
If it turns out that your bill has a mistake, the creditor must explain to you in writing the corrections that will be made to your account. In addition to crediting your account, the creditor must remove all finance charges, late fees, or other charges related to the error.
If the creditor determines that you owe a portion of the disputed amount, you must get a written explanation. You may request copies of documents proving you owe the money.
If the creditor 's investigation determines the bill is correct, you must be told promptly and in writing how much you owe and why. You may ask for copies of relevant documents. At this point, you'll owe the disputed amount, plus any finance charges that accumulated while the amount was in dispute. You also may have to pay the minimum amount you missed paying because of the dispute.
None of the actions above regarding the disputed charges were done by Capital One and it's Corporate Office. I was NEVER provided any proof that these charges were mine or that the charges were in fact being investigated

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: When I received a bill from Capital One I have noticed that the amount charged for the stay in XXXX did not match the reservation that was made on XXXX.
Furthermore the charge was in US $ and not XXXX as originally made and charged.
The merchant did not give me any receipt upon check in or check out stating only that the booking is " taken care of. '' I disputed the amount with Capital One on the phone and subsequently sent them the claim form with supporting evidence by fax on XX/XX/2019 along with mail.
Today I received a letter dated XX/XX/2019 that the Capital One close the dispute alleging that nothing was received from me.
This is the second time that the Capital One closes the dispute alleging that nothing was received as it is violating its own terms and conditions provided to me when the card was obtained.
Also Capital One refused to provide an electronic way to dispute the purchase and provide the necessary evidence leading me to the conclusion that the bank 's way of handling disputes is specifically designed to deny them while blaming non receipt.

Complaint: Today I received an e-mail from Capital One Visa stating that my max credit line was decreased from {$53000.00} to {$30000.00}. The explanation for such dramatic decrease was worded this way : " Recent usage of this account for monthly spend has been too low ''.
This is my business card and I intentionally keep high credit line to be used when I need to purchase expensive equipment or a large amount of supply. Such needs arose in the past and this prompted me to have a high limit available to provide more flexibility.
My usual monthly utilization is about 20 % -25 % of the maximum. I have an excellent credit score and has never been late in my payments with any financial institution.
As soon as received the e-mail, I contacted Capital One and spoke a rep and her supervisor. They expressed no interest in trying to help me reinstate my credit line max.
" Wait for six months and then ask to increase your limit. Maybe you'll be successful, maybe not ''.
Now I don't consider it to be even marginally acceptable. This is not how a respectful institution would treat a loyal business customer who maintained an impeccable record, and not only has an active business account, but also used personal credit cards and a sizable saving account with the lender.
I would like the bank to reinstate the max credit line amount I had before they cut it almost in half without either notifying me or giving me an opportunity to agree or disagree with their decision. I see no reason for them to do what they did.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: I have had an auto payment set up through my bank with Capital One Cabela 's Club card for {$75.00} a month to cover my monthly credit card payment for a few years. In XX/XX/2019 I started traveling with my new job and didn't realize that my auto payments were not matching the minimum balance due. I received a call from Capital One on XX/XX/XXXX ( which was showing on my phone as spam ) and they left me a message to call them about my account. I did return the call on XX/XX/XXXX and was notified that my account had an outstanding balance of {$210.00} in which i immediately paid the balance due. My statement closing date was XX/XX/XXXX. One day after making the payment to bring my account current, my credit report and my wife 's credit report showed that Capital One reported the account 31 days past due on the XXXX of XXXX. When I called Capital One to discuss this issue, I first talked to a customer service rep, then I asked to talk to a supervisor in which i was not able to make any headway, then called back later and talked to another Supervisor to see about getting more information and make the same request i had previously. I was connected with a supervisor named XXXX, employee # XXXX. He said that Capital One reports to the credit bureau 3 days past the billing end date and that was why it was reported, even though I worked with Capital One to pay the arrears. My statement shows the payment date on the XXXX. He said that the payment was not made before XXXX XXXX eastern time and that was why it was reported. Towards the end of the call his tone changed towards me and made me feel like he was suggesting that I was trying to get out of paying my bills which I am clearly not. The reason this is so important to me is that we are in the process of closing on a house in Arizona and this drastically affects this closing now. I have been a good customer and have made payments on time up to this point of time where life changes have caused issues to get out of hand. I am including the Capital One statements from XXXX to the current date.

Complaint: Regarding Capital One 's XXXX XXXX. The president sends out a communique that says we will handle etc. However, the customer service delivery group did not get that missive. I contacted CapOne yesterday to determine if I was impacted my the recent CapOne employee data breach. I reached the XXXX customer service center ( around XXXXCST if you want to pull the call ). Her comment to my inquiry was, data breach?. She didnt even understand the word much more the answer to the question. I called back but again got the XXXX so hung up. I then called the escalation group and spoke to XXXX. He wasn't an engaged person and had trouble understanding him as well. the net is that I still do not know if I was impacted and NO MANAGER will call me back.
I contacted investor relations in hopes that they could send my requests to the proper manager. I simply wanted to know if I was impacted by their disgruntled employee who hacked their system.
There is a class action lawsuit ( so I am not the only one who sees that this is being handled poorly ) but I would prefer to get an answer ( and now an apology ) to my simple question. Why do big companies behave so badly??

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I was alerted that capital one froze my account to make any withdrawls. I called them immediately and asked why. After almost 30 mins waiting, they finally came back and said they need to talk to 2 people that sent me a XXXX payment. I told them that those 2 people have nothing to do with my account and if they want to talk to them, they can find there contact info, IM NOT GIVING IT TO THEM.
At this point, they refused to let me access my money in the account because they want me to give them private information that is none of their business. Under terms of XXXX, payments cant be reversed unless the receiving bank agrees to it. They claim they are worried these 2 people may request the XXXX 's back, at which point I told them they won't, I know them, and 2, even if they did, I refuse to allow. Simple. case closed.
THEY STILL WON'T LET ME ACCESS MY FUNDS. So, at this point I am fed up and told them to close my account and send me my {$2300.00} cash that is in the account. THEY REFUSED TO. You need to contact them immediately, the {$2300.00} is not their money and at this point they should pay a fine and interest on it. I would prefer not to have to get a lawyer involved since I don't know any.

Complaint: My payment due date on my CapitalOne Venture One card wasXX/XX/2019 The balance due was XXXX. I am enrolled in Autopay. In order to avoid this amount from being withdrawn at one time, I paid XXXX on XX/XX/XXXXand XXXX onXX/XX/XXXX. OnXX/XX/2019 the amount of XXXX was withdrawn from my checking account as the Autopay. When I called CapitalOne the first clerk stated that my credits should have been reflected against my XX/XX/XXXX statement. She had to place me on hold to get assistance explaining why this was not the case. It was explained to me that my payments were being applied to current charges and not my statement. I stated that if the Autopay is able to adjust for credits from merchandise returns it should reflect payments made by me. CapitalOne agreed to refund my XXXX payment made on XXXX XXXX but stated this will take 10 business days to post to my account. My concern is that this is deceptive. After reading the AutoPay Terms and Conditions, I do not believe CapitalOne is adhering to their own terms and conditions. After speaking with a CapitalOne representative she admitted there is a "glitch" in the system.
