Complaint: Capital One refuses to investigate fraudulent credit card charges. In XX/XX/2018, I found two unrecognized charges with merchants I did not know, recognize, or authorize on my Capital One account both made on the same day of XX/XX/XXXX : 1 ) {$1.00} for XXXX XXXX for " professional services '' and 2 ) {$1.00} for XXXX XXXX " other services '' I did not recognize the last 4 digits of the card ( XXXX ) on which these charges appeared either as it was not on my primary acct but perhaps on an authorized card that I also did not recognize. On my next stmt ending on XX/XX/2018, two new charges from these same merchants appeared for different amts on different days on the same acct I did not recognize : 1 ) {$39.00} for XXXX XXXX for " professional services '' and 2 ) {$29.00} for XXXX XXXX " other services '' I disputed all four charges. Around this time, I learned that I had been the victim of identity theft -- several credit card applications were submitted and accounts were opened in my name under my SSN. I immediately placed a Fraud Alert with the credit reporting agencies -- but to no avail. I continued to receive new accounts that were opened EVEN AFTER I placed the fraud alert which I thought was supposed to freeze my credit. I advised Capital One of this. I even reported the card number ending in XXXX itself as stolen. These fraudulent charges continued on my next stmt ending on XX/XX/XXXX ( third charges ) : 1 ) {$39.00} for XXXX XXXX for " professional services '' and 2 ) {$29.00} for XXXX XXXX " other services '' Apparently Capital One failed to close the acct number ending in XXXX despite my reporting that it was stolen and being used fraudulently. Conditional credits were issued. Then w/o any investigation or notice, Capital One reversed them one by one. I continued to dispute them again. Capital One ignored me and XXXX my ability to dispute them online as other credit card companies do for convenience and efficiency. I spent over two hours disputing these charges. Finally Capital One sent a letter in XX/XX/2018 about ONE charge, the {$29.00} XX/XX/XXXX charge for XXXX XXXX. It simply contained standard contract language by the merchant that failed to demonstrate that I or my authorized user had entered into a contract for services. I have no idea what this merchant is or the XXXX. I responded by USPS mail to once again dispute this and the other charges. Capital One alleged that it did not receive my response. Every fraudulent charge I disputed was either reversed. On three separate occasions from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/2018, I contacted Capital One, speaking to a different person each time in the dispute dept. They refused to dispute the charges. Finally, I emailed the dispute response I sent in XX/XX/XXXX to Capital One through an email it sent me on XX/XX/XXXX, specifically to provide dispute documents. Capital One issued a conditional credit for just ONE of the SIX fraudulent charges. OnXX/XX/XXXX, Capital One, again without notice or investigation, reversed the conditional credit without explanation. I have tried in vain for over 6mos trying to dispute fraudulent charges made on an account number that I reported as stolen which Capital One left open for addt'l fraudulent charges. Capital One refuses to process or investigate credit card disputes as it is legally required to do.

Complaint: Am attempting to close at least 360 checking account # XXXX and debit card # XXXX, do not have card as I believe it was stolen along with my credit card # XXXX yesterday, Tuesday, XX/XX/2018, which is being investigated. Looking at my cleared checks there was one # XXXX, a contribution to the Senator XXXX XXXX campaign, which appeared across my screen on my XXXX and then was gone. I attempted to investigate with Capital One, to NO avail. Went further and reached to the recipient of this check, had a conversation with someone in his DC office. Was told their mail was being held, ( probably XXXX or some other type of threat ) therefore a good possibility why my check has not cleared Capital One, even though it did for a flash. Now, I can not close my account as I wanted and will not be able to call this bank HISTORY as the other financial institutions I enumerated with your XXXX # XXXX in our phone conversation, which I initiated, today, Wednesday, XX/XX/2018 and provided information for 23 mins. What the S- is going on!! As I mentioned to your XXXX, I have complaints, letters, etc., with regard to this bank. Told him to let me know if they are required for this investigation.

Complaint: I not to long ago checked my credit reports. All three reports showed there were several missed payments. This is incorrect and inaccurate. My Capital One Card has never been paid late. I have tried to get this issue resolved but have not been able to get any assistance from the representatives. No one has been able to explain to me how errors of this magnitude were able to placed on my reports. It seems they are not willing to help in any way. This issue has been very stressful and is causing me to not be able to get new credit. Not only that, but also preventing me from being able to get approved for a higher credit limit. I have been stagnated with a {$300.00} credit limit even though I have made all of my payments on time. Yet I receive several offers from Capital One for a Auto Loan of upwards of {$5000.00}. This is an error on the part of Capital One or the Credit Reporting Bureaus. I would like this issue to be resolved and deleted from my reports. So that I can continue on with my life.

On XX/XX/2018, two fraudulent charges were placed on my account in the amounts of {$2900.00} and {$32.00} from a company called XXXX. I did not authorize any such charges, thus subsequently contacted the company to dispute both transactions. I sent them a copy of my drivers license to show proof of my signature as well a copy of the police report I filed, however they refuse to issue a credit. Complaint: For over a year now I have been making my payments on time, but for reasons unknown to me those payments would get sent back from Kohls to my bank account. Kohls hasnt been sending me any notices in regards to this issue and I dont find out until I try to make the next payment. At that point they send out a notice that I have late fees After I already spoke with them on the phone. And this happens every time. On XX/XX/XXXX I called and found out my bill due was over {$140.00}, I asked why and they told me late fees. I asked them to remove the fees because this on going issue isnt my fault. They were supposed to wave {$36.00} only and then I made a payment of {$110.00}. Today is XX/XX/XXXX and I went onto Kohls website and tried to make a purchase and I did not work so I called. It was then that I found out that my account was canceled my Kohls. I asked why and they told me late fees and that I could open another account. I asked to speak with a supervisor and have 10 minutes of asking I was finally transferred just to be told the same thing and that nothing can be done. This isnt right because every month I make my payments and neither my bank or Kohls will take any responsibility in the cause of my payments not going through. Its always a back and forth between my bank and Kohls and neither of them can find out the issue is. I honestly dont know what to do at this point besides report it to the CFPB please help me find a solution because I dont want this to mess with my credit when i have done nothing wrong. They should have informed me that they were closing my account when they were taking my payment information. Also I did not receive any notification about my account until Monday XX/XX/XXXX and there were two at once in the mail from a month and two months ago, they always send letters to cover themselves. The reason I so much in the first place is because they refuse to remove the late fees, on an issue thats their fault. Something should be done to find out why payments arent being received and theyre not doing that.

Complaint: In the month of XX/XX/XXXX my employer XXXX was involved in Hurricane Florence. I informed Capital One of this information and they initially agreed to assist me and not report my account as delinquent. I was out of work from XX/XX/2018-XX/XX/2018 and was not able to make any payments toward this account or others. I also was told that I would be alright until I returned to work. Capital One negatively reported to the 3 bureaus that I was delinquent in my payments and because of this I was denied a vehicle loan by my bank. Capital One failed to properly investigate this circumstance and would not take any accountability for the inaccurate reporting that took place for month of XX/XX/XXXX, or XX/XX/XXXX. It is not right and the other companies in which I hold cards did not report missing payments. I was told that this could be removed from my reports.

Complaint: Being a Capital One customer for over 9 years, I decided to take advantage of an upgrade to my account that was advertised as 1.5 % Cash Back, NO Annual Fee and {$150.00} cash bonus after a certain amount of purchases. When attempting to execute the offer, they would only upgrade me to the 1.5 % cash back but would not give me the other benefits. After debating with the XXXX XXXX, I was offered the No Annual Fee, but not the Cash back. When I decided to accept that offer, ( which I have saved on Chat with Service ) the asked me to disregard the offer and required an Annual Fee. Capital One is misleading, untrustworthy and disloyal. The also showed complete disregard for any issue that would create a negative effect on my credit should I cancel the card.
