Complaint: I tried to cash a ( XXXX dollar ) check with capital one on XX/XX/XXXX. Shortly afterwards my account was put on hold. After a while I tried to contact them and only got a voicemail. Only after contacting their XXXX support nearly 3 weeks later I finally am informed that the check has NOT been accepted and my account had been closed. I take them at their word and deposit the check in another bank. A week later I received a call from the second bank ( XXXX XXXX ) that my account is being put on hold since I had already cashed the same check! Upon further research, my capital one account appears to still be open and the check deposited. When I tried to get in touch with capital one, I'm still having the same issue of getting a voice mail with nobody ever calling back! As of now it's been over a month with no resolution. This has also affected my standing with ally bank, as they now suspect me of fraud since I deposited the check again that I was told was never accepted. To be clear - my account has been on hold and inaccessible the entire time.

I filed a second complaint and I was contacted by Ms. XXXX XXXX who advised that the debt that they attempted to collect was not legal as they had this debt in their office since XXXX and did not make any attempt to collect then, and the agent who advised of the debt had misinformed me. I was assured that no effort to collect this debt would be made as the statute of limitation had passed. I have since received notification that a collection of {$310.00} by XXXX XXXX has been reported on my XXXX Credit file by XXXX XXXX. Upon checking the account and the date opened on my credit profile it is apparent that this debt was settled and XXXX XXXX is attempting to collect this debt once more.

A reporting of such is often done to purposefully lower a consumer 's credit score. I requested for you to send me validation BEARING MY SIGNATURE!!!!! You have failed to do so. ( FYI.statements are not proof of validation ) I disputed with the credit bureaus and, I received a notice stating the account was updated. However, the update not only included the same false information but also showed the account was not listed in dispute. I disputed this Capital One Account again with the credit bureaus ; the account shown was verified with the same information. Please note I have kept strict and accurate records of all transactions between your company and myself, and the credit reporting agencies and myself. I am fully prepared to present this undisputable information to the court if necessary. This account needs to be removed from my credit files immediately.

Complaint: My interest rate increased from 16.15 % to 20.15 %, without any notification of this in advance. After calling in twice ( the first time the call was disconnected from the companies end ) I was told the 16 % interest rate was a proportional Offer, and no interest rate other than what was originally given upon account opening is permanent. This is an unfair practice, given that I first opened this account as a college student, with little credit history, so that interest rate would be higher than those at the same Credit level I currently have.

Complaint: I have a Capital One credit card that I have never been late on paying. Apparently, I had a charge from XXXX and wasn't sent a statement via email or mail, and never received a phone call. On XX/XX/2019 I found out I had a balance on this account through XXXX XXXX. After I saw this, I immediately went online and paid off the balance in an attempt to make my account current. However, I was notified by a representative of Capital One that their system sent out a report to XXXX and XXXX that I was 30 days late, which has impacted my credit score. I did contact XXXX and XXXX that same day to open an investigation to have the 30 day late notice removed from my credit report. Unfortunately, nothing was revised because I received a lengthy letter on XX/XX/2019 from XXXX showing that the 30 day delinquency is still on my credit report. Before this incident, I had a 100 % record of paying all of my creditors on time. Needless to say, this situation has lowered my credit score through no fault of mine.

Complaint: i had apply for gm buypower capital one credit card never used it but in XX/XX/XXXX i got my statement and saw a balance contact capital one regarding this and iopen a fraud investigatigation since i never had used my card during all this i was in the process of buying a house so this was affecting my credit since i never used it i never made payment i was advice by capital one that to pay it off since it was the fastest way to fix my credit and once the investigation came to and end they will etheir credit or send me a refund if it wasnt actually fraud so i made the payment in XX/XX/XXXX i made the full payment bringing my account to {$0.00} i wasnt never abe to acces my account since the person who was using my account call capital one and put a security code and request another card capital one would never give me information cause didnt know that code after a while i call capital one to see if my account was still active on XX/XX/XXXX it turn out that i found out i had another balance and my account was charge off and the account was closed and open another fraud investigation soon XX/XX/XXXX this was came in my favor so i ws going to get a refund in 10 to15 days i recieve a letterand also have voice mail saying that after they toldme i need to send statement saying the payment was made and statement if all the information nothing crossout since the account that i made the payment was fro my sister they request her to send a letter wand we did after that i got an voicemail saying she had to call and give a verbal statement saying she gave me permision to used her acount to make the payment after everything they had ask was send and done XX/XX/XXXX they told me i wasnt going to get the refund because i didnt pay this from my bank account and to call the bank and have them do a stop payment that imposible because this payment of {$2700.00} was made in XX/XX/XXXX and its been pay to gm buypower capital one credit card

Complaint: Capital One account had multiple charges that either didn't belong to me or where incorrect. This led to the account going over the limit. Capital One refused to fix multiple errors, then charged late fees, overdraft fees and refused to agree to a repayment plan or remove the additional charges I was being assigned in error. I then started working with a credit repair company, at Capital One 's insistence, made payments ( the credit company said the terms they quoted were what Capital One agreed to ) and repeatedly told the credit repair company that the modifications Capital One were requesting was authorized. In the meantime, even though I made the payments timely and at the level requested initially, Capital One marked my account 120 days late.
