Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I went to look at new vehicles at XXXX XXXX in XXXX, TX. I gave the salesman my ID in order to drive a vehicle, but ended up not driving the vehicle after I realized he gave me false information over the phone. About 4 hours after I left the dealership I started getting notifications from credit bureaus that someone ran my credit at the dealership. I never filled out any paper work, never signed anything. In fact, I expressed my displeasure regarding the false information and told them I had no desire to purchase a vehicle from them. So, they ran my credit based on my Drivers License information. I know this because they used the address that was on the DL and it wasn't my current address. They ran it through XXXX XXXX, Capital One Financial, XXXX XXXX XXXX. I just built a new house and didn't update it yet. I contacted the dealership the next day and they claimed to have mixed up my information with someone else and said they'd submit all the paper work to correct the issue. I've got 10 or so emails from the 'Sales Director ' ( XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX ) stating he was taking care of it and he'd follow up. He hasn't followed up any and nothing has been done. I tried submitting disputes to the credit bureau 's, to no avail. This company is extremely dishonest and down right shady! They ran my credit to see if they could make me a good deal on a car, thinking that I'd buy one. Never do business with this company.

Problem with balance transfer
Complaint: I initiated a balance transfer on XX/XX/2019. I transferred {$1200.00} from my XXXX card to Capital One to bring down the Capital One balance. The money left XXXX and posted to my account on XX/XX/XXXX. The balance is still not posted to Capital One. I reached out to both companies several times, and Capital One said it was posted to an account that does not exist on XX/XX/XXXX. They got the correct number from XXXX while they were on the line with me. They have said this would be resolved in three to five business days. It has still not been resolved.

Other problem
Complaint: I have two credit cards with Capital One, a VISA and a MC.
One card has a balance and the other has a {$0.00} balance.
I paid about {$790.00} on the card with a balance, then thinking I had not paid the monthly payment I went to my bank web bill pay site and paid {$1900.00} on my Capital One account, but it was the wrong card.
When I realized I had a credit of {$1900.00} on the card with a {$0.00} balance, I asked for and was told I would receive a check in 7-10 business days.
When the check did not arrive I contacted them again and was told I had to wait an entire billing cycle before they would issues a check which should arrive 7-10 business days after that.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I received a phone call stating they were an officer from the XXXX County Police Department ( number was spoofed to seem like it was coming from the XXXX County Police Department ) and my information had been used in connection to a drug trafficking/money laundering case down in Texas. They then stated I would be transferred to the Social Security Office for further details. The next person I talked to claimed to be Agent XXXX XXXX stating that since my identity has been compromised and will need to be issued a new social security office. However, they said before they could proceed they needed to hold the money in my account and it would be reimbursed after the case was settled. I was instructed to go to the bank and wire the balance of my accounts to the attorney general ( account name XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX to account number XXXX and routing number XXXX ). At capital one I wire transferred {$30000.00} to that account instructed - during the interaction no questions or concerns were raised by the employees at capital one.
XX/XX/XXXX evening I realized that this call had been a scam when i called the XXXX county police department and was informed that they had no record of my case. I immediately called capital one around XXXX and reported the fraud. I was assured that I would be able get the money back and the bank takes fraud very seriously. At the time the transaction was still pending however I was informed that I would have to wait until the charge posted to be able to call the fraud department and officially file a case and I was not notified of the urgency of which these actions needed to be done.
XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX I called the fraud department and the representative assured me that I would be able to get my money back and they stated that a wire reversal request and fraud investigation request would be submitted. However they were not able to give me a claim number at the time because the paper work had not been processed.
XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX I went to the capital one branch in XXXX to open new accounts and place my old accounts on hold to get ready to close them. During this interaction the bank employee called the fraud department to place our accounts on hold and at that time he was told to inform us that it is not guaranteed we would be able to get our money back because if the money was removed from the account it was wired too, there was nothing they would be able to do to retrieve the funds.
XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX I was able to speak to XXXX the supervisor of the fraud department in which we were informed that we should not have been initially told I would get the money back and that the wire reversal request and fraud claim still had not been processed - at the time we still did not have a claim number at this point.
XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX I spoke again to XXXX who stated that they had spoken to XXXX XXXX XXXX and the funds had already been removed so there was no way to recover the funds. At this time a claim number had been generated but we were informed an investigator was still not assigned.
XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX I called the fraud department to follow up on my case and was informed that the notes in the account stated to inform me that the funds had been removed from the account and could not be retrieved and the investigation had been closed XX/XX/XXXX

Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Complaint: I spoke to Capital One right back in XX/XX/XXXX of this year. I was very disturbed when I found out that they had reported me 30 days late in XX/XX/2018 and then 60 days late in XX/XX/2018. So when I called them, I was told that there had been a balance of {$18.00} on my credit card. I had never been notified of this small outstanding balance and didnt even get any credit card statements. I spendt well over 1 hour, talking to various CSRs and esclating to management, but to no avail. I tried reasoning with them, as why would I destroy my credit for {$18.00}? I have tried dispute through the credit reporting agencies, but nothing happens there also. This is the only thing that is causing a huge hurdle in trying to get approved for a home loan.
Please help! I dont know what else to do.

Other problem
Complaint: I contacted Capital about a secured credit card that I had open and I wanted to close. I called in asking about how the process works with the security deposit. I was advised if there was a balance on the credit card the deposit would be applied to the account within 5 days of closure. I closed the account and waited for the deposit to be posted to the account. I waited 2 weeks and I finally called Capital One. The rep I spoke to indicated it should have happened within 5 days of closure and he was unsure why. He transferred me to a supervisor and the supervisor was unsure as well. He asked that I call back in a week. 5 days later I get a notification that my credit was decreased by 34 points because the account was closed and had a negative balance. I called Capital One again and was told it would take up to two billing cycles. I asked to speak to a supervisor because that wasn't the information I was provided previously. I spoke to a Supervisor named XXXX and he advised that he was unsure why the credit had not posted within the 5 days. After 1 hour on the phone he advises me that it could take up to 70 days to credit the account and that it was not their error even though he acknowledged I was provided incorrect informationon to include his initial response. I advised him this is unacceptable as this is effecting my credit and I only closed the account at the direction of Capital One with expectation of having this credit within 5 days. No one at this company is willing to assist in the error they clearly caused nor provide any assistance of remedy to the error.
