Complaint: I have not had a credit card for 20 yrs with Capital One. The one I had then I filed bankruptcy on because of their collection practices and late fees and over the limit fees. I was granted that in XXXX. They claim I have opened an account on XX/XX/XXXX ( 2 yrs, 4 mos ago ). The balance showing on my credit report is {$390.00}. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, SC XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX. Original company CAPITAL ONE N A. I have called XXXX XXXX Seversal times. The last time the women said there were 2 pmts made. She said NO ONE COMMITS FRAUD AND MAKES PAYMENTS. Then she laughed. Today I got a letter in the mail giving me 30 days to dispute this letter. I am getting nowhere.

Complaint: Recently I contacted a Kohls representative for the balance due on my account so I could pay it off in full and close the account. I paid the total amount due that I was quoted and consequently closed the account. Kohls partial account number XXXX - is now incorrectly reporting late payments on my credit report for XXXX, XXXX of 30 days late and XXXX, XXXX of 60 days late. Kohls is reporting a current balance of {$2.00}. ( Please see the attached pages from my credit report. ) I had no idea that there was any remaining balance, nor should there have been, since I paid the total amount owed and closed this account. The late payment history has recently appeared on my credit report. I called Kohls and asked the representative I spoke with to please resolve their accounting error and to also request they contact XXXX ; XXXX and XXXX to correct the reporting error. I have not been able to make any progress. I originally opened this account in XXXX and have had a stellar payment history. I request that Kohls report a {$0.00} balance and {$0.00} past due on this line item. There should not be any balance due on this account. This incorrect reporting is harming my credit score.

Complaint: On or about XXXX of 2018, a fraudulent application was submitted using my name and social security number to Capital One. Additionally, my checking account was debited {$1000.00} by Capital One for what turned out to be a fraudulent secured credit card. I contacted Capital One and advised them of this matter and was told that the account would be closed and removed from my name and social security number, and the {$1000.00} that was debited from my account would be mailed to me. However, as of todays date I have not received any refund check from Capital One and I still see the account on my credit report. Ive emailed Capital One legal regarding this but all my correspondence has been ignored.

Complaint: On XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, my aunt attempted to lend me {$800.00} via XXXX. She used my email, which I didn't know at the time, was linked to an old Capital One account. I had not used the account in years and was unaware of why it was even still open to begin with. We attempted to cancel the transaction by calling XXXX, which is my aunt 's bank. They said they couldn't do anything because it was already accepted by Capital One ( my bank ). I then called Capital One because I had no access to the funds in that account. I tried to get them to tell me why I had no access to this account but, they wouldn't really answer my questions, only that it had to do with something from years prior, like I mentioned before, this account hadn't been used since XX/XX/XXXX, why it was still open in XXXX is beyond me. I tried to ask Capital One what were my options in order to either get the fund released to me or even sent back to my aunt. Capital One informed me that they would mark my account to release the funds back to XXXX XXXX as long as they received a letter from XXXX stating to do so. My aunt said she spoke to XXXX on two separate occasions asking for them to request the money back and they informed her that they did. When I called Capital One again, they said they never got anything. Basically, Capital One is holding onto my money for no reason what so ever because the account is not and was not overdrawn prior to the money being deposited. There was no pending charges either. I even spoke to the company XXXX and they refuse to get involved. This has been going on for months with nothing happening from either bank. I've tried to get this solved numerous times to no avail. Capital One is wrongfully holding my money that is rightfully mine. There's even a banner on my account now that states " Your funds are currently not available for withdrawal. Please call us at XXXX. '' I have statements from my Aunt and her bank that they have tried to work with Capital One to get the money sent back to her, but have yet to receive a response from Capital One.

Complaint: Ongoing dispute with LordandTaylor.CapitalOne.com Between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX I paid off my card in full and returned merchandise. I expected a zero balance on my card due to the returns and recalculations of interest charges. One example of interest charges on my XX/XX/XXXX bill was {$11.00} that appears it was not backed out correctly when I returned the merchandise. Over the course of a few months I was charged late fees on what I believe was incorrect interest charges and then interest on top of the late fees. It is really difficult to know from my bills exactly how Capital One calculated interest and I wasn't checking my online statements because I expected a zero balance and possibly even a credit balance. Then in XXXX I noticed in my Mint.com account that I had a balance on my Lord & Taylor Capital One account and started researching the amounts. I called Capital One and was told by an associate the amounts were correct, I escalated to a manager who researched and in XX/XX/XXXX provided finance charge adjustments in the amount of {$26.00} which included correcting the {$11.00} finance charge on my XXXX bill. I also received an interest adjustment of XXXX cents and late fees of {$20.00} were reversed. I appreciated the support in correcting my account, however what I have since learned is Capital One reported me as paying late to the credit bureau ( s ) which has reduced my credit score by XXXX points in a few months. I am purchasing a car and this incorrect information is impeding my ability to obtain premium rates. I called Capital One again on XX/XX/XXXX and was informed the information they reported was correct and I protested had my statements/fees/interest/finance charges been assessed accurately from XXXX / XXXX to present I don't believe I would have owed any money to Capital One and therefore not have any late payments. Based on the returns the supervisor told me the problem was with Lord and Taylor, not Capital One. I said Lord and Taylor does not service my card, Capital One does and I again communicated I believed Capital One had calculation errors that were not considered or reversed when reporting to the Credit Bureaus. There may have been Reg Z violations but I'm not the expert in how interest and the late fees were calculated and the timing, I was not provided a breakdown, nor did Capital One explain it to me correctly so I am unable to complete further research. Capital One supervisors would not provide any remedy other that submit a complaint to the Credit Bureaus and / or write Capital One and it would take 60 - 90 days time for a response. This does not help me as the loan will add upwards of {$120.00} annual interest charges over 5 years ( {$600.00} extra at minimum ) due to the lower credit score. Due to how long it will take Capital One to come to resolution I am the one absorbing the risks and extra costs due to the impacts on my credit reports. No way at this point I will be able to get the premium rate on my auto loan. In addition, the last supervisor would not provide any written procedures for me to follow in submitting my complaints, only verbal directions were provided although I requested multiple times for written procedures. Truthfully I can't tell at this time exactly how Capital One managed my account and what was provided as a courtesy and what was truly calculating errors on their part and no one at Capital One could provide that information either.

Complaint: My father passed away XX/XX/2019, my father had a money market account with capital one 360. She came into the bank in XX/XX/2019 with a fraudulent death certificate that she lied on she put down she was his wife. Showed them the death certificate and his drivers license that she took and the bank gave her a cashiers check with an undisclosed amount. When i asked them about why I spoke to XXXX, she stated that because she was a joint owner of my dads bank account they gave her the money. There was no POD or beneficiary noted on the money market account. I told them that it should of went to probate or next of kin not her. again they stated that because there was no one else and she was on his other account as a joint owner gave it to her. I am so upset because it was in his name only and she walks in with a death certificate that she lied about is not right. It should of went to probate.
