Complaint: I received numerous calls everyday for the past month regarding a debt not owed by me. I repeatedly informed Capitol One that I did not owe the debt and to please remove my phone number from their call list. Two of the representatives were respectful ; however most of them were rude and informed me that they would continue to call me and even said they would call me later in the day. Some would just hang up on me after I asked them to stop calling. These calls continued daily even on weekends. I care for an elderly sick parent and the calls were intrusive annoying and disrespectful.

Complaint: I put in a claim regarding an OLD apt I was leasing where the company still has not give me my refund in monies as promised to me several times. At any rate, Capital One sided with them without proof on my end that the company did in fact, in writing, state that a deposit was due to me but as of date I still did not receive the funds. The agent at that time told me he would put in place that they would not go back in to retrieve the money back from me. Weeks later as stated Captial One took the money back from me in my claim. Recently, I paid my rent at my NEW apt to then be told my funds were returned due to me putting in a stop payment on the transaction. I stated to the company I would never stop my rent and they conference called with me and Captial One with Capital One stating nothing was wrong with my account and they merchant never did a transaction to retrieve the funds. The merchant suggested for them to do an investigation as they had a transaction ID to proof they tried to retrieve the funds. Captial One got back to me the next day admitting they incorrectly gave me the wrong information as they put a stop payment on the transaction as coincidentally the NEW apt community uses the same payment system as the OLD community. At that time a manager stated they fixed the situation and that the merchant could go back to retrieve the funds. A couple of days later the NEW community told me again that I placed a stop payment which I did not. We did another conference call and we were told yet again they had nothing in place to prevent the funds from withdrawing. After being transferred several times, we found out that the lift was never done and the merchant suggested that even though a fee will be assessed with it, for me to make a debit card payment which went thru. As a result of Capital One 's mistakes, I was assessed a late fee of XXXX and two {$50.00} Non sufficient funds from my NEW apt community as well as was placed on the eviction list there which needs to be paid by XX/XX/2019 which Captial One was told several times. I also assessed a {$26.00} fee to pay by debit card. Because of what has happened I asked for my account to be closed SIX times which they have not done so as of yet as well as letters of explanation to be sent to the NEW apt community and my lender as I am trying to buy a home which has not been given to me as of yet in addition to proof of what they used as a deciding factor with the OLD apt community on why they sided with them without my proof which has not been given to me yet as well.

Complaint: This is a follow-up to complaint filed under XXXX. A representative ( XXXX ) called and left a number with her extension, XXXX, ext XXXX. This representative called on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX. She stated that she was calling from Capital One 's executive offers regarding a concern I had.
I have attempted to reach her at this number 5 times, some of which I left a voicemail. During my last attempt, today XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX, once given the option to press 1 to dial an extension, there was no option to do so.
It appears that the company is not genuinely interested in resolving this matter, rather pacify CFPB and me, the consumer, with a message from their " executive office '' with no intent to return a call.

Complaint: I called Capital One on XXXX19 to let them know they had reported an inaccuracy on my credit report. It was reported that I was a authorized user on an account and it was delinquent.The first time I called I spoke to a woman named XXXX who tried to help me but sometime during the call we got disconnected so I called back and talk to someone else who transferred me over to another department that supposedly handles these matters.I again spoke to another woman who said she could not find the account that I was speaking about so I ask her who I needed to speak to that could know about it or can help me find out why it was reported by Capital One on my credit report so I can resolve the matter. She then stated again that she could not find any open accounts with my name. So I then ask her if I could get a letter in writing stating that I had no active account with the company and she refused starting various company policies and reasons.She then said she could transfer my call to someone else who could help me with this matter.I was waiting on hold again for an additional 15 minutes and then got disconnected or hung up on once again.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: Reference to Former Complaint # XXXX ( I was told a new number would be assigned after I submit information online. ) XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX sent a bill pay payment to Capital One for our Cabelas Visa Card for {$3100.00} XX/XX/XXXX Capital One received and cashed the {$3100.00} payment.
XX/XX/XXXX Both XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX ( cardholder ) faxed Capital One a copy of the transaction.
Capital One is claims I stopped payment on the {$3100.00} payment, despite numerous 3-way conversations with XXXX XXXX, Capital One and XXXX XXXX. During these conversations XXXX XXXX confirmed there was not " stop payment ''.
Capital One says they will investigate, but they have never attempted to return my phone call. Despite repeated claims the Capital One sent the {$3100.00} back to my XXXX XXXX Account, they have never sent proof of this transaction.
While the account and fees were credited, I have just been re-billed {$3100.00} and Capital is claiming a payment credit made on the XX/XX/XXXX statement which is enclosed.
*Please note on my XX/XX/XXXX Cabelas Statement the XX/XX/XXXX " Payment Adjustment '' under transactions. This amount was billed and not credited.

Problem with personal statement of dispute
Complaint: I entered into a payment arrangement in XX/XX/2018 when my car payment was starting to go delinquent. I contacted capital one prior to a 30 day delinquency and agreed on a payment t plan that I was told, would keep my account from reporting delinquent and get it caught up by XXXX. I was told that as long as I stayed on schedule that I would be in good standing. I made all the agreed upon payments and in early XXXX, was reported late for XXXX and XXXX suddenly. I called them to discuss this and they said I was misinformed. I asked them to remove the 30 day lates that recently appeared in XXXX and they refused. I asked to speak to a supervisor and got into a debate of why a payment arrangement was even implemented to f it was not going to keep me in good standing. Still she refused. I disputed the reporting through XXXX. They did not change the 30 day pages, instead, they reported me 30 days delinquent for XXXX as well. This after I have made 2 payments at 1.5 times greater than my regular payment, as agreed.

Complaint: Merchant, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, NV, solicited a sample purchase for {$5.00} via an email campaign that did not disclose a requirement for purchasers to make repetitive monthly purchases at 20x the price until cancellation. Order was immediately cancelled upon receipt of billing and the cancellation was acknowledged. Merchant continues to bill repetitively and CapitalOne will not chargeback to the merchant or make good on its fraud protection guarantee. The merchant 's web-site does provide adequate disclosure of a monthly purchae subscription ; but, its email solicitation and purchase confirmation do not. Merchant pretextually provided screenshots of its web-site in a chargeback reversal request and CapitalOne has refused to recognize the difference between merchant 's web-site and the merchant 's email solicitation, the latter being fraudulent. CapitalOne states it only recognizes unauthorized use of credit card as fraud but refuses to recognize that fraudulent misrepresentation is fraud.

Complaint: I XXXX XXXX will not dispute the true ownership on debts with Capital One, however, I did go through a very serious medical problem starting in 2017 that is now behind me. This problem caused me to fall behind on several credit items, but now I am 100 % healthy and wish to make amends with my last creditor Capital One. Even though Capital One shows charge off amounts of {$4500.00} and {$2000.00} respectively, those numbers consist of 180 days of penalties and interest applied within the 180-days pre-charge off timeline. This timeline is established under Code 5000 FDIC specifications of debt between standard ad sub-standard debt. In essence both credit cards accrued approximately 22 % extra basis of debt between the last payment date of XX/XX/2917 and the charge off month of XX/XX/2017. Essentially, the basis of both charge cards collectively was {$1400.00} less that the total accrued amount of {$6500.00}. I believe the true basis of debt on the last payment date was {$5100.00}. I therefore offer a one time payment of {$3000.00} or 60 % of basis to settle these accounts in full. I believe this is fair and reasonable. Please reply to my personal email address and by regular mail to my home address so that we can resolve these accounts as quickly as possible. Thank you for your cooperation and consideration in these matters.

I didn't have the time until now to be able to send this, I believe the company just applied for a credit card and decided to send me one. For months I have been receiving advertising and papers from their company and all I have thrown away. Billing problem
Complaint: For the last 2 plus years, I have not received a copy of my monthly billing statement nor have I been afforded the proper application of my monies I paid to this account. There is a huge discrepancy with my auto loan payments and I have also asked for the total amounts of interest paid since loan inception which began in XX/XX/2016 to current and the presidents office in Texas as well as the auto loan office in California failed to send me accurate account of my loan as last year it stated I paid over XXXX dollars and now my online account states I have only paid slightly over XXXX. They will not release my total payments towards principal vs interest for the years 2016 to current on their letterhead although I was informed it was mailed. I need this document as well for tax purposes. Additionally they are not reporting my account balance monthly to the credit bureau, I have spoke with Capital one on this as well, and no one seems to know how my payments are being applied, it is a simple interest loan and thats about all i get. if you look at my ledger, if i pay early they take a huge chunk of my payment and apply to interest, but if i pay post my due date which is the XXXX of the month, they apply a good amount towards principal and less towards interest. Doesnt add up and no one is talking. I advised if i do not receive my billing statements for the last 2 plus years, as i have called and msg them constantly and nothing. i also have been blocked from msg them inhouse as well as looking at my statements online and nothing received by mail. they have blocked me out of my account and play XXXX as nothing is going on with my account, with me having a prior background in banking and financials i know this is a bunch of malarkey. I advised if i do not receive a statement, no more monies will be paid to this account as i only purchased the vehicle for XXXX and i was to have a gap policy of XXXX added to the account but that is even wrong. I am done. I want all of my documents and fyi this started from the beginning in XX/XX/2016 where they refused to send the dealership and myself a copy of my loan terms and payment slips or information on how i was to pay after having the car 1 month. i have only missed a few payments the 2nd year of having car due to furlough but i caught up and paid in advance in lump sums so nothing is adding up and need your assistance as i am no longer talking to this lender it is pointless. Lastly, they refused to send me a copy of my title as well last year so that I could register my car this is how dirty these ppl operate and just like i paid off my cc, i know my car is paid for, how am i paying XXXX more than what i bought the car for its a XXXX car, payments XXXX have had already 3.5 years, not behind in payments, but you still saying i owe XXXX smh.the math even with the interest doesnt add up

Complaint: My billing statement shows ( 2 ) Transactions for {$1000.00} each on XX/XX/19 along with numerous fees however, on XX/XX/XXXX we were in XXXX ( my associate and I ), I have the flight times and numbers from XXXX so there would be no way we could make this purchase. I know I personally did not make either charge and I asked my associate who advised he did not make the charge either. When going online to Report a Problem it does not give this option for some reason. I have never had an issue with any of my accounts I honestly can not believe this has happened.

Overcharged for something you did purchase with the card
Complaint: I called Captiol One customer service numerous times over a 2 month period and I already submitted a claim to you which is claim number XXXX.
Since they seem unable to figure out my balance I have included a spreadsheet of all the purchases and all the payments. I also included a print out from XXXX XXXX which statements the money remitted on my behalf to Captiol One. As you can see from this information I have credit balances on both accounts.

Can't use card to make purchases
Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 Capital One placed a fraud restriction on my account ending in XXXX without providing me any warning. When I contacted Capital One I was told a XXXX block was placed on my account because I recently added 5 new authorized users. Capital One told me that my account would be frozen until i provided a picture of each of the newly added user 's license and social security card. I provided the requested information within a few days. When I called to see why my card was still frozen I was told that I would have to provide picture 's of government photo IDs and social security cards of every authorized user I ever added to my account from when it was opened over 4 years ago. Some of the users have previously been removed and I am no longer in contact with them and have no way of obtaining the documentation Capital One requires for these individuals.
When adding an authorized user, Capital One does not even require a social security number, let alone a picture of the person 's ID and social security card, If they stated that such information would be required I would have made copies of the documents for each user when I added them. Now years later after 15 users have been added and some of them removed, Capital One refuses to remove a XXXX restriction from my account because I can not provide them this information. I am able to provide the required documentation for every person that is a current authorized user, but I am not able to get in contact with the individuals that were removed as authorized users over 6 months ago.
My Capital One card is my oldest credit account on file by 3 years, i have never beed late with a payment and the account has been paid in full every month for at least the last two years. If/when this account is closed by Capital One my credit score will be negatively affected by up to 75 points. I regularly use my personal credit score to run my business and purchase investment properties. This negative impact on my credit score could cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars over the next few years in higher mortgage, insurance, and auto loan rates, as well as the fact that I may even be denied some loans for lack of credit history.
