Written notification about debt

Debt collection: Payday loan debt

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: " Ad Adstra '' has been reporting an account in collections on my credit report. I have now sent two validation requests to this company, to the address listed on statements they keep sending, asking them to validate the original creditor, amount, payment history, fees/interest etc. as this account I did not recognize. I specifically wanted to see loan agreements or anything bearing my signature, as I have had several accounts opened by my ex-husband without my knowledge. The first validation request was sent on XXXX XXXX, 2017, with no reply. The second, and most recent request for validation attached to this complaint was sent XX/XX/2017. The company sent another statement with a partial response on X/XX/17, however, they have failed to provide me a copy of the loan agreement, original balance, or anything bearing my signature that substantiates I am responsible for this account. Having my SSN, Drivers license number, and birthdate was n't the validation I requested, as I know anybody could obtain and provide that without my consent. As they are reporting on my credit report, they have the legal responsibility to validate upon request an account in question, and have failed to provide me with the documentation necessary for me to actually validate and/or dispute this account.

Written notification about debt

Debt collection: Payday loan debt

Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Complaint: The account in question was sold to a debt collection agency and I was not informed of my right to dispute. Furthermore, when I did dispute this account based off of not having a contract with the debt collection agency, the credit bureau removed the account and the debt collection agency then reinserted it without any written notice whatsoever and did not send any information showing that they did their due diligence to investigate or ensure the information obtained was complete and accurate. I called and left a voicemail to let them know that I would be taking action should be the account not be removed from my credit report immediately.

False statements or representation

Debt collection: Payday loan debt

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: After filing complaints with all 3 credit bureaus even the original company this has yet to be resolved. Ad Astra is very aware that they received full payment of both accounts and continue to harass me with phone calls along with threats. They along with XXXX XXXX have received the bank statement months ago and refuse to make knowledge of such. Ad Astra provided me a tracking number via usps of XXXX that was to include all legal documents pertaining to this. However, that tracking number shows a In transit update dated XXXX XXXX, 2017 from XXXX XXXX. I do not have any proof of this being legally collected on another company 's behalf. They also are in violation of the FTC by not providing correct and accurate information to the credit agencies.

Took or threatened to take negative or legal action

Debt collection: Payday loan debt

Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged
Complaint: I had recently submitted a complaint in regards Ad Astra Recovery Services for an collections account of {$400.00}. The collection company did not resolve my request. Since then they have illegally re-aged and reopened the collections account as of XXXX XXXX, 2017. The account status was closed and marked as a charged off account for the past couple of months. They had threaten me in the past about how they were going to damage my credit and the recent reopening/re-ageing of the closed account which has significantly hurt my credit score in the past week supports my claim of their harassment and illegal practices of bullying consumers. I have taken picture and attached it to this complaint of the account status as of XXXX, 2017 and as of XXXX XXXX, 2017. The change in the account status occurred after I submitted my initial complaint which leads me to believe they purposely and illegally re-aged/reopened this account to hurt my credit score. I feel bullied and treated without any respect. Because of their unethical and illegal practices good/hardworking people like me suffer and our progression towards a stable financial future is impeded.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Other debt

Debt was paid
Complaint: For the past 3 year Ad Astra Recovery Services has been trying to collect on a debt I do not owe them. I do not have a contract with them and when I have asked for validation of the debt they send me a copy of a bill from them no contract stating I owe Ad Astra Recovery Services nothing! They also have been reporting this account status as open instead of closed. That is a direct FCRA violation which entitles me to a least {$1000.00}. They have not nor are continuing to offer credit to me. The correct status should be closed. After 180 days that an account becomes delinquent the status should be closed. It has been 3 years.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Payday loan debt

Debt was paid
Complaint: I noticed last year in pulling my credit reports for annual check an account listed as " collections '' and " Opened '' on XX/XX/XXXX by a collection company by name of Ad Astra Recovery System collecting for XXXX XXXX XXXX. It was later XX/XX/XXXXthat I started to receive numerous phone calls. I had googled the company and found a lot a people have had complaints against the company in trying to collect non existent debts/debts that were already paid in full. When I spoke with a " company rep '' " XXXX '' the 2 -3 times that I did, and I 'm not sure that was even her real name, over the course of about a month or so, I told her each time that I was disputing the debt and to provide the following for my review so I could 'formally '' submit in writing my dispute and go point by point down the list in rebutting. She would come back with quite persistently and tell me each time that she could take a credit card payment that day and that she was authorized to take xyz amount to get my account settled and closed. Each time I came back and asked her to provide me with information for my review first. After talking to her the last time, I just let the calls ring thru and someone from the company kept calling for a few months, basically 2 to 3 times each and every day ; it became predictably annoying as it would ring and then hang up, but they never left a vm. When I spoke with " XXXX '' I asked that I be provided via snail mail, all of the following. 1. A copy of original contract with the debtor with my signature 2. The original loan amount 3. The original date of alleged default 4. The date this alleged debt transferred from the original creditor company and date it was bought by them 5. The Surety Bond information Interestingly enough I never received any written communication from them at all after my requests to provide me with my requested information and eventually the phone calls stopped and I thought the matter resolved, but I was wrong.
Flash forward a little over a year later, when I just went to do my annual credit check today, XX/XX/XXXX, my surprise that this " collection '' status is still showing on my reports, even though I asked them to remove the information if they could n't provide me with proof. I do know now I should be checking my credit report on a more 'frequent basis '' and use a free service to do so from here on since I only checked 1 time a year to get my " free annual report ''.
I am asking that this company since they could n't provide me with the requested information showing this to be a legitimate debt to strike this off my credit reports.

Debt collection: Payday loan debt

Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged
Complaint: For the past 2 years, I have been receiving threats via phone call about how they are going to purposely damage my credit. I explained to them that the debt is not mine and is incorrect. They continue to call and send me emails trying to intimidate me and threaten me that will that they will garnish my pay check, sue me and will charge me the debt if they ever got a hand on credit card information. They also called my employer and embarrassed me in front of my work place and were making threatening calls to me at my job. I disputed the collection charge from all 3 credit bureaus but have not find any resolutions for the harassment and incorrect debt collection. The incorrect debt collection amount is for {$400.00}.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Payday loan debt

Debt is not yours
Complaint: Allegedly I owe on 2 accounts one for {$330.00} and one for {$180.00}. I have been harassed since 2012 about 2 payday loans that were supposedly taken out online with my information. I have disputed these accounts and they always come back as verified but no contract had ever been provided as requested and the original creditor refers me back to the 3rd party. I contacted them recently and received no resolution. I do not owe this debt and still offered to settle in exchange for deletion to get this behind me and they refused. I do not believe they own the debt and think they are attempting to fraud venerable people. Please investigate and help resolve this matter. All of my certified letters have been unsuccessful in disposition. I recently received a contract that did not include my signature after filing with the better business bureau. This is still unacceptable if I had taken out this loan they would have documents with my signature.
