Complaint: Promotional term was to receive XXXX delta airline miles if I accepted the American Express C.C. and spent at least {$1000.00} in the first 30 days. I met the terms and spent the required amount and much more. My account is in good standing and no late payments or other failings have occurred. My card was opened XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I spent the first {$1000.00} + within 72 hours. I began asking about my XXXX airline miles in XXXX, XXXX and every few weeks thereafter. Initially, I was told it was a four to six weeks wait. In early XXXX, the issue has now been referred to as a computer glitch and would be corrected in about two weeks. Every two weeks it is another two weeks. I have been assured, repeatedly, that I have met all the terms to receive my miles and that I am not alone. I have been told during the last six weeks that it was a problem that effected thousands of people and it takes time to fix. I was lead to believe by a supervisor that it was n't actually a computer glitch but in fact a different sort of problem.

Complaint: I made a purchase at XXXX on XXXX and returned the item on XXXX. The refund was returned to my bluebird card on XXXX. I logged on and it shows bluebird has decided to put an extra review hold on my refund an wo n't return it until XXXX. I called an was given XXXX different reasons why it was being held. I was told it was a random review, I was told it was held because it was returned at a different store than it was purchased, I was told it is a new process to allow the merchant 7 days to change there mind, then I was hung up on by the XXXX XXXX why I asked for corporate contact info then I was told by XXXX it was n't received an his XXXX says they received a memo but never received the money. I verified with the merchant bluebird was sent the money. I was also told refunds no longer go to bluebirds bank but direct to my account. All the agents are in a foreign country and very rude. They offer no resolution and never the same answer. I am at the point of contacting my attorney for a class action lawsuit because I had a similar issue that I never got a response in XXXX of XXXX

Complaint: Actually not trying to close the card, American Express Travel Services, issuer of my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, closed it without warning several months ago. I 'm actually trying to get the card re-activated, or at least get my balance returned. One day a few months ago I went to log in to the account, which I had been using trouble free for some time, to find a message saying my account was suspended. I immediately called customer service, and was told that there was an investigation going on regarding " possible fraudulent activity '', and while I was n't being directly accused of anything, my card may have been involved, and so the account had to be suspended. I inquired as to how long this " investigation '' was going to take, and was told it could be several weeks to a month or more. Well, in the months following I have placed numerous followup calls to customer service, only to be told the same story, with no resolution or end date given for their investigation. When I asked how I could escalate my issue, as I need the card, I was told I would have to write to their fraud department, was n't given an option to call them. This has gone on way too long with no resolution, so someone mentioneed I could contact this office for possible relief. I was in no way conducting any sort of fraudulent activity, and doubt that anyone I conducted bill-paying or any other activities were engaged in anything fraudulent whatsoever. Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX and I was referred to the XXXX XXXX XXXX back in XXXX. The welcome offer was spend {$1000.00} in the first three months and receive XXXX Skymiles. Additional terms included make a qualifying XXXX purchase in the first three months and receive a {$50.00} statement credit. Lastly, the intro fee would be {$0.00} for the first year and {$95.00} each year after. I was approved for the card on XXXX XXXX XXXX. I met the spend requirements sometime in XXXX. I have called and chatted since then numerous times about not receiving the bonus after 6-8 weeks. I even opened a previous case here at CFPB ( XXXX ) about the same issue and was written by XXXX corporate with an apology that recognized the issue and said they estimated a resolution on or before XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have waited and waited and waited for these bonus miles. In the mean time of waiting I have missed out on booking a vacation with Skymiles to Hawaii with my husband. I have missed out on booking a Skymiles ticket to go back home for my grandmother 's XXXX. I have been given excuse after excuse and promise after promise. At this point XXXX has breeched a contract and has violated its own terms. I can not and will not recommend XXXX to anyone anymore. It is absolutely atrocious the headache I have had to endure to get what should have been an automatic thing. I have waited now approx 4 months since meeting the spend requirement with no miles, no real explanation without forcing the issue, and no offers of other compensation. Instead each time I get the same tired excuse of, " We have escalated this to our marketing team and they are attempting to resolve this. ''

Complaint: Issue started after a purchase made on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX was returned on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and the refund of {$750.00} was not applied. I have called American Express several times & spent many hours explaining to supervisors and was assured that it was corrected only to find out that the next statement did not resolve the issue. I have requested in writing since XXXX XXXX for an explanation. I have found out that funds were being transferred from one account to another to resolve the issue. I was not given any disclosures regarding these accounts. More recently, on theirXX/XX/XXXX letter to me they provided for the first time a better explanation of how payments were applied. However, the amount due was incorrect. On XXXX XXXX & then again on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I sent them another letter disputing the amount due and to correct the amount due. Due to my dissatisfaction of how my account has been treated I also requested for information regarding terms and conditions if I decide to cancel my American Express card. I have not utilized this card for over a year due to the issues. Not only has American Express initiated cancellation as stated on their letter to me on XXXX XXXX, XXXX but they also did not correct the amount due and as a result my account is past due. I have never been late with this card. As stated in previous communications by American Express to me, while the matter is under investigation, I am not responsible for the amount due. However, at this time, they are disregarding this and my account is considered past due. This is not right.

Complaint: We were working with a doctor in XXXX who told us he was going to help us iwth our son who suffers from XXXX. He claimed to be able to help with XXXX and XXXX issues as well as improving communication skills ( our son is non-verbal ) His " treatments '' did absolutely nothing except cost us close to XXXX $ We attempted to dispute the charges with American Express however they states that the Dr. had provided adequate documentation to uphold the charges. While our dispute was ongoing, the Dr. was accused, convicted, and plead guilty to tax evasion charges ( charges which included providing false information to the IRS ) https : //www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/westchester-neurologist-pleads-guilty-manhattan-federal-court-tax-fraud-violation We argued with XXXX that his conviction on tax fraud and willingness to defraud the govt and provide them false documentation should be taken into account when considering our claim. An individual who had no qualms about lying to the govt would surely have no issues with lying to his credit card company. In the end, XXXX ruled in favor of the doctor. We had to take out a personal loan to cover the XXXX $ bill.

Complaint: I opened an AmEx account in XXXX XXXX. AmEx requested I submit to a financial review and submit documents prior to a certain date in XXXX. Several days before that deadline, AmEx closed my account with the reason being I did not provide the requested documents. In the meantime, I earned Membership Rewards points for meeting a spending threshold and for the purchases I made while using my account. I paid my account in full, and I currently have a credit balance. I previously filed a complaint stating that AmEx did not make the MR points available. They responded that they would be available after my next statement closed, which was over a month ago. Despite this, the points have still not been made available. When I attempt to transfer to a MR partner, I receive a message indicating I have no points or cards enrolled in MR .

Complaint: My husband wanted to add me to his account just as a Authrorize user then I received the denile letter so since it wad XXXX I responded and I was transferred to 8 represanative and none of them will tell me what was the problem they all kept asking me name address etc and transfer me to the next represantiven so finally the last rep asked me if I ever had any American Express card under my name and I said no I was always a card user not card holder then he said some one used my info and opened account so he said not to worry u wo n't be responsible for the chargers and they will clean up the 3'credit buera and I will receive a letter So yesterday I received a letter that they went in to my history and dig up my chapter XXXX bankruptcy whick they had no business dig that out I was discharged and cleared of everything by a bankruptcy court I am very disgusted and angry About American Express fishy and suspicious conduct The fact that they played me stupid and pkay this fruad game on me is pepostress and unexceptable My husband was just wanted to XXXX me to his card as a user I need cfpb to pay a close attention to this XXXX conduct of American Express And contact me asap

Complaint: I have opened my XXXX card after talking to XXXX marketing rep in XX/XX/XXXX. I was told that I will get XXXX points as a welcome bonus. Again calling multiple times was told will get my points in XX/XX/XXXX billing statement. The rep even told me that you are eligible after 3 years as I had this card before. She insisted if I spend {$5000.00} then they will offer me another XXXX points, in total XXXX points. When called in XX/XX/XXXX they stated i am ineligible as i had the card in the past. I explained my situation and they promise to investigate and compensate me but till date after 4 weeks there is no resolution. I felt this is a shady business practice to lure customers and have them spend money. They only told me after 4 months of XXXX money spent. The company made its profit by getting the spending and through interest. So far I paid about {$500.00} in interests. I have called them several times and they still say that they are investigating the call details. If I was not misguided by customer relations I could have opened other competitive hotel cards which would have rewarded me welcome bonus. Talking to customer service is like asking for their kidney, they are unable to accept their own customer agents mistake and honor my points. I would not recommend anybody for this card.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I signed up for the XXXX Amex Surpass Credit Card. They agreed to give me XXXX XXXX points if I spent {$3000.00} in the first three months. I hit the {$3000.00} spend amount on XX/XX/XXXX. I called Amex in XXXX, and they said the XXXX points would show in my account 8 weeks after I hit my spend ( on XX/XX/XXXX ). They confirmed that I had hit the {$3000.00} spend. I called AMEX on XX/XX/XXXX, because the XXXX points had still not hit my account. They said they were escalating my case and that someone would contact me in 48 hours ( no one ever called ). They also said the points would hit for sure by XX/XX/XXXX, and that they would give me XXXX points for my trouble ( the XXXX points never showed up ). On XX/XX/XXXX, the XXXX points and the XXXX bonus points had still not arrived. I called AMEX again today, and they said they were escalating my case to the supervisor. They confirmed that I would get my points, but offered me no timeline. They said that numerous people are having the same issue. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. I 'm losing confidence in their ability to follow through. Every time I call I get promised something ( e.g., we 'll contact you in 48 hours, you 'll get your XXXX points for your trouble, you 'll get your XXXX points by XX/XX/XXXX ), and they have never followed through on their promise.

This charge was processed with intent to defraud and processed by another unknown corporation. The services purchased were from XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX and services were never provided. The company who charged our American Express card, I have never heard or done business with - XXXX XXXX. I have attempted to chargeback with American Express but the merchant provided fraudulent information to American Express and the dispute was denied and closed. On XX/XX/XXXX - XXXX XXXX responded to my inquiry and emailed me from the domain email address 'XXXXXXXXXXXX ' and provided me with information regarding credit services. Please take notice at the bottom of his email, it also states ; " To Stop Receiving these E-Mails, please Unsubscribe by clicking the Link below : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ' A copy of the email is attached - exhibit 1 XXXX XXXX XXXX is the corporation that owns and operates XXXX based on their own website Terms of Use. A copy of the website - Terms of Use webpage is attached - exhibit 2 On XX/XX/XXXX - Email containing copies of American Express were sent to XXXXXXXXXXXX. A copy of the email is attached - exhibit 3 On XX/XX/XXXX Email sent to XXXXXXXXXXXX regarding no response for over a month after the original purchase date. A copy of the email is attached exhibit 4 The agreement and purchase was only with XXXX, owned and operated by XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX based on their own website address and XXXX Terms of Use. Services were never provided. My American Express was charged by XXXX XXXX which is apparently an entirely separate corporation. No authorization was issued and no representation was ever made authorizing payment to XXXX XXXX. Im disputing the entire {$2000.00} charge and requesting the CFPB to intervene.

Complaint: My XXXX and I have an American Express XXXX card since XXXX and we have always made payments on time. My credit limit was {$9500.00}. About XXXX month ago, my card was declined. When I called Amex, they informed me that someone had used my name to obtain an Amex business credit card and had made large purchases. I asked them to start a fraud investigation and they informed me that they had already done so. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, Amex sent me a letter informing me that they had taken necessary steps to close the fraudulent account and remove derogatory information from my credit report. I have made a number of calls to Amex to find out the latest situation but have been transferred from XXXX department to another but without any resolution. Yesterday, XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I tried to use my card again but was declined again. I called Amex and once again, I was transferred to XXXX department to another but without any firm response. All I was told was that my credit limit had been reduced to {$3000.00} for reasons not explained to me. I have been a loyal Amex customer and do not know why my credit limit has been arbitrarily reduced.

Complaint: I am filing a complaint against American Express due to non distribution of my full reward points upon completing my minimum spend ( completed 30 days after receiving my credit card ). I have attempted to handle this multiple times via phone as well as website chat but have had XXXX success. On XX/XX/XXXX I spoke with a chat representative from the XXXX XXXX site who informed me that the error is on their side, and that my points would be credited " soon ''. I have attached a screenshot of that portion of the conversation. But that never happened -- so I spoke to another representative via phone support to try and get the issue resolved. That was sometime around the XX/XX/XXXX. On that call, the AmEx representative was able to get my full reward points amount to reflect ( a total of XXXX points ) -- but those points do NOT reflect in my XXXX account, which is where I need them to be in order for me to book any type of travel arrangements. It has been 6 months now, and I still do not have my rewards points reflecting in my XXXX XXXX XXXX account. I only show the total amount spent, which is 11,200 roughly. I have included screenshots to indicate that my minimum spend was hit within 30 days of receiving this card, as well as the discrepancy in points reflected in both accounts, and it has been well over the 6-8 weeks that American Express keeps regurgitating to me to wait for these points to appear. I have held up my end of the bargain on this and spent thousands of dollars with their company which they have made money on through company interest fees, and yet they have not held up theirs and credited me these points owed. Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide on this matter. Thank you, XXXX XXXX XXXX
