Complaint: I recently applied for an American Express Blue Cash Everyday Card and requested a balance transfer of {$4000.00}. The terms of the balance transfer were 0 % interest for 12 months ( my expiration is XX/XX/XXXX ) and 3 % balance transfer fee ( {$120.00} for my requested transaction ). The balance transfer request was made on XX/XX/XXXX, yet the request was not approved until XX/XX/XXXX and processed until XX/XX/XXXX. In the meantime, I was charged {$52.00} interest from the original credit card company while I waited for the transaction to be approved and processed. When the balance was transferred to XXXX, the balance was transferred into an interest-incurring sub-account and I was charged {$41.00} on my first account statement. I called XXXX to remedy this issue and was told it would be corrected quickly. I had to call two more times over the next week to get resolution. The account was credited on XX/XX/XXXX ; however, since I had made purchases and payments on the account, XXXX moved {$2700.00} of the {$4000.00} balance transfer to the 0 % interest sub-account, essentially applying payments for my purchases to the balance transfer while leaving the purchases ( which are charged at a rate of 16.99 % ) available to have interest charges applied. The payments I made to the card exceeded the new purchases I made on the account. I called XXXX again twice since the XX/XX/XXXX adjustments and I have hit a brick wall. While the customer service team is polite, they do not have a solution to this issue provided in their script. I have not been able to speak with a supervisor nor locate an internal customer complaint format. In my frustration over this situation, I did some research and located several message boards where numerous people had the exact same complaint. As an Internal Auditor for a financial services company, I see this as a systemic issue and I see XXXX heading for a " XXXX XXXX '' -esque compliance and regulatory nightmare. The company MUST be aware of the issue, yet has not taken the necessary steps to remediate.

Complaint: This complaint regards the American Express Blue Cash Everyday credit card. In XXXX AmEx offered a sign-up bonus in which if you spend {$1000.00} within 3 months, you are promised a {$250.00} cash credit, as long as your account is in good standing. I opened up my Blue Cash Everyday card account in the first week of XXXX XXXX and met the threshold by XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, spending {$1300.00} on qualified purchases. I paid it back in full well within the 3 month period, thereby meeting all required conditions. However, after numerous calls, they keep repeating that it is being researched by specialists and my request is still pending. Every time I speak with an AmEx employee, they tell me I will definitely get my bonus, but after 6 months of calling them over and over, they tell me it is still pending and refuse to send me any official notification of such. These illegal practices are ongoing, since at least XXXX, and this is criminal behavior. I know from research on CFPB itself that thousands of consumers have made this exact complaint, and that AmEx knows it, and furthermore that the company has already been fined XXXX XXXX dollars to pay to 250,000 customers who have been defrauded by American Express ' illegal business practices. They have been doing this willfully and criminally, since at least XXXX and get away with it the vast majority of the time. Unfortunately CFPB 's statement that " 97 % of consumers get timely replies when we send their complaints to companies. ", does not take into account that In the case of American Express, a timely reply means nothing, and gets you nothing. I urge all who have been preyed upon to keep fighting, and pursue a class action suit.

This letter is to confirm that I had phone conversation with the AMEX Customer service/ fraud investigation department regarding following issues. I had two AMEX Delta Skymiles credit card accounts Card Type Number Delta Skymiles - Platinum XXXX Delta Skymiles - Gold XXXX Issue 1 : AMEX fraud department closed these two accounts on XXXX without informing me. I completely understand that AMEX has full right to close my account anytime. However, I have not been informed regarding closure of my account. I come to know when I call customer service and they told me that my account has been closed and customer service was unable to give me proper reason why they closed this account. After making several phone calls, I come to know that my account was closed without detailed explanation. I have been told that I have used AMEX card in XXXX in XXXX XXXX and reported charge as fraudulent. I have never reported these charges as a fraudulent charges. AMEX associate ( XXXX XXXX ) did not listen to my side of the story and she told me that I have to pay for these charges and all other subsequent charges. First of all, AMEX credit card charges occurred in XXXX, and I have disputed these charges to AMEX. I have never reported these charges are fraudulent, I have reported these charges as a dispute. I called several times, explained entire situation to the representative and reported these charges as a dispute. When I reported these charges as a dispute in XXXX XXXX, why your associate/system consider these charges as a fraudulent. There is a huge difference between fraudulent and dispute. On XXXX XXXX AMEX reapplied all fraudulent charges ( Charges are as under ). I have reported following fraudulent transactions which were charged to my account without my authorization. I really do not understand why your fraud department holding me responsible for these huge charges where I never used my credit card. Moreover, this is not a small amount and AMEX should not authorize these charges as these charges are not in my normal spending habit and I do not drink alcohol than how am I going to spend {$1000.00} at the XXXX XXXX XXXX? This is a large amount and I should be protected against fraudulent charges. Please consider following questions when you review my case. 1. Please provide sales draft from the merchant. I am not asking you the sales draft for all smaller transactions, however I am asking you to provide sales draft for the larger transactions listed above. 2. This is not my normal spending habit since I opened AMEX card in XXXX XXXX. Why AMEX credit card did not send any text alerts/email for such a large transaction? 4. Does AMEX Fraud department have enough evidence which does confirm that I did make these transactions? 5. I have spoken to my attorney regarding this matter and discuss in much more detail with him. He suggested that it is best interest for both parties to resolve this issue as it is not worth of money for both of us. 6. My attorney did advise me that this is clearly Truth in Lending and Fair credit reporting issue and AMEX should not be changing fraudulent charges to my account. I am not responsible for these fraudulent charges. 7. You have reapplied these charges to my AMEX account and minimum payment due on XXXX. Please take immediate action as I do not want AMEX to report these charges to the credit agencies. Please investigate this matter and correct the billing error as soon as possible. Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I contracted four, two night stays with the courtyard marriott in XXXX. This is for a total of 20 rooms PER night. XX/XX/XXXX ... .the program was not selling and we released the space a minimum of 45 days prior to any of the dates. The credit card was charged {$23000.00} and American Express permitted the charge on a card number that was NOT PROVIDED TO THE XXXX. The card provided to the hotel was compromised and was shut off PRIOR to the charge being processed. Why would American Express permit these charges? Is this collusion between someone at the hotel or the hotel ownership and American Express? I have fought via American Express with the hotel, because the management is not responsive. The hotel ownership, XXXX is impossible to contact and the fine folks at XXXX Corporate are not willing to step in. The best part is, ALL THE ROOMS WERE RESOLD and the hotel did not experience any harm!!!!!!

In the course of Activity, parties unknown accessed the account, illegal created 4 addtional accounts, continued to cahrge with out authorization using the Company Name and American Express. It appeared to this former Company Officer that Company Vendors and Merchants were used to access Company Charging Activity to develope customer profile of sole authorized user. In additon, XXXX XXXX XXXX indicated that the legitimate Company Charging Activity was not recorded in the proper Calendar Year of 2015. Individual Transactions, hard copy records in possession of sole authorized user, currently inacccessible. However, this user has in Response to American Express Collection Attempts which included State Supreme Court Action, requested in writing and verbally over recorded collection telephone conections with American Express Call Center and Fraud Operations Staff requested copies of the entire active account history in attemps to located illegimate transactions to no avail.

Complaint: This complaint is a follow-up to # XXXX. Amex 's Underwriter demanded earning income from my wife and I, and stated that he would close my account if I did not comply. I clearly stated that my wife and I file incomes together and she is not on my account. I also provided CFPB complaint documentation on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX was investigated by the FBI and found to have forged my signature and documents. These two companies have harmed my credit and I am seeking damages. I have retained the services of an attorney but my credit has been destroyed. XXXX XXXX XXXX filed false credit information which has affected my credit. Amex did submit a letter dated XXXX XXXX, 2017 which I had never seen nor had knowledge of. Based the actions of Amex I was coerced into canceling my Gold Card of 15 years. I had never missed a payment nor had I been late.

Detail : On XX/XX/XXXX, I purchased airline tickets through XXXX Membership Rewards in the total amount of XXXX points. I also called XXXX customer service XXXX number and confirmed with them that I am eligible for 35 % points back when purchase tickets with Membership Rewards points. Fast forward to XX/XX/XXXX, I have not received the points back and called back to check. But they told me that I am actually ineligible for the points back. After reading the fine prints, I understand the reason I am indeed not eligible. Nevertheless, I purchased the tickets based on the WRONG information given by XXXX customer service. Should they told me I am not eligible, I would not go that route to begin with. With that, I demand I should be compensated accordingly for my loss as a result of wrong information from XXXX. Complaint: Amex serve sided with the merchant after i explained that i paid for 2 seperate vehicles r registration tags. Either of them were done in XXXX -3 days as i paid for. They wete never done at all. Amex proof from tbe company clearly states as they merchant puts it a discount from XXXX for {$280.00}. Now why would XXXX give the company a discount like that on renewal tags for a XXXX XXXX. Because they did not accept payment until i paid a XXXX reinstatement fee thats why. Which i paid after receiving a notice. Then only then wiuld XXXX receive payment for renewal tags. The discount as the merchant puts it was a for a payment that XXXX could not accept. And the merchant was dishonest. He never received the tags or mailed them to me as they indicated to XXXX XXXX. but you think the {$270.00} discount would have arouse some sort of question with Amex. And the reimbursement that they stated was issed to me for a whole different claim. But they were taking credit for issuing me that reimbursement for both claims. They should have never brought that up. It took me 4 months to receive that claim. both were made on the same day with the same results. I want tovtake both the merchant and Amex serve to court. I have tried reaching out to amex but XXXX out of 7 times been disconnected by supervisors because they dont kniw hiw to answer my questions. Frustrating and very unprofessional. Wht would XXXX give anyone a {$270.00} discount. Think about it. I want the full {$320.00} that i paid for expedite service returned back to me.

Complaint: I opened an American Express Starwood Preferred Business Card in late XX/XX/XXXX due to the enticing XXXX open account reward promotion. I have met the spending requirement of XXXX dollars in XX/XX/XXXX, however, the reward points promised never showed up in my Starwood Reward Program account, where my previous points from the American Express cards appear. Three attempts to communicate with American Express were made roughly 1 month apart starting in late XX/XX/XXXX. Each time, I was promised the points will be awarded. Complaint: A customer since XXXX, I received a letter from American Express, dated XXXX XXXX XXXX. The envelope stated, in bold : " IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE THE PAYMENT OPTION YOU RECENTLY ADDED TO YOUR CARD ACCOUNT ''. I opened the envelope with concern, since I had NOT recently added any 'payment option ' to my card, and so feared someone had gained unauthorized access to my account. Moreover, I have always paid my American Express balance in full, every month. The letter stated, however, that I would pay a 19.24 % rate on 'Pay Over Time ' balances, as well as new 'Pay Over Time ' charges - this being the option AMEX falsely claimed I recently added - and that if I was not interested in this, I had to contact the number on the back of my Card by XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I phoned the number and explained to an American Express representative that I did not ask to add any such option as they claimed. The representative disagreed and then launched into a sales pitch me on the 'benefits ' - that I could make large purchases for the holidays and then make payments over time ( at 19.24 % interest! ) This is an abusive sales tactic based on willful misrepresentation by American Express.

Complaint: American Express Date open : XXXX Acct # XXXX Started the dispute process with XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX - than again on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX then again on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX - each time since then every few weeks I call for a follow up to American Express along with XXXX the account itself has no deletion date and its over now XXXX years old acct open : XXXX XXXX, XXXX account was apparently from what the rep in XXXX told me XXXX XXXX, XXXX - charged off which means I went delinquent 6 months prior to that date because it takes 181 days to charge off an account than I was told by XXXX location in XXXX that no really the account was charged off in XXXX of XXXX than I was told on another date that really the account was n't charged off but its still an open account that needs to be paid. this has been going on and on since XXXX of this year we are literally already in XXXX almost at XXXX and have received no follow up and no clarification of what the time line is - the debt itself is past the statue of limitations and should be removed all together. XXXX has had little to no help at all with this account for me in fact I have been bounced around like a potato

Complaint: American Express Date open : XX/XX/XXXXAcct # XXXX**** Started the dispute process with XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX - than again on XX/XX/XXXX then again on XX/XX/XXXX - each time since then every few weeks I call for a follow up to American Express along with XXXX the account itself has no deletion date and its over now 10 years old acct open : XX/XX/XXXX account was apparently from what the rep in XXXX told me XX/XX/XXXX - charged off which means I went delinquent 6 months prior to that date because it takes 181 days to charge off an account than I was told by XXXX location in India that no really the account was charged off in XX/XX/XXXX of XX/XX/XXXX than I was told on another date that really the account was n't charged off but its still an open account that needs to be paid. this has been going on and on since XX/XX/XXXX of this year we are literally already in XX/XX/XXXXalmost at XXXX and have received no follow up and no clarification of what the time line is - the debt itself is past the statue of limitations and should be removed all together. XXXX has had little to no help at all with this account for me in fact I have been bounced around like a potato

Complaint: I purchased a car using my American express card back in XXXX and the car was a lemon so I returned it to the merchant and I filed a dispute with my credit card company the dispute been going on since XXXX I filed 12 disputes and they keep getting close in the Motions favor American Express told me there 's nothing else they can do to help me I returned the car back in XXXX of XXXX and now it is XXXX XXXX American Express is charged me {$150.00} interest for that car purchase and my minimum payment when 's from {$100.00} a month to {$330.00} a month and American Express told me is nothing they could do I could just have to pay it that 's not a problem my payment should be high this high and I should n't be charged {$150.00} and interest I pay on my card every month one time never missed a payment and I need help I do n't know what else to do {$330.00} is a lot imoney to be paying every month can you please help me every time I call to speak to someone about my account I get someone that 's real nasty towards me or they hang up on me I had to mail my American Express card for 2 years now and it been r has been nothing but headache dealing with them so I close my accounts but I still make payments on my bill

Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I upgraded my amex XXXX XXXX card to an amex XXXX XXXX card for an upgrade offer ( offer code XXXX ) of XXXX bonus points after meeting XXXX} spend ( attached, XXXX offer ). I met the spending requirement during my first statement cycle ( attached, XXXX statement ). The terms of the offer ( attached, XXXX terms ) stated points will be awarded within 6-8 weeks of meeting the spending requirement. After not receiving the offer points after the 8 week deadline, I reached out to amex. A case was opened on XXXX XXXX XXXX ( case # XXXX ), with a resolution time of 6-8 weeks. After the 8th week, I again contacted amex for information on the resolution. I was told no decision was made and that another case will be opened. This second case was opened on XXXX XXXX, XXXX ( case # XXXX ) with a resolution time of 6-8 weeks. Almost one month has passed during this second case, and I am again told that Amex is waiting for the XXXX department to award the points.
