Complaint: Hi, At the beginning of XXXX my XXXX XXXX XXXX bank, where all of my savings are held, was compromised. As a security precaution, XXXX XXXX, froze my funds and created all new bank accounts. This process started XXXX XXXX and my funds were released XXXX XXXX. During this time, my American Express account came due on XXXX XXXX, but because my funds were frozen I was unable to pay. As soon as my funds were unfrozen I paid my account in full on XXXX XXXX. Because of this two day delay, American Express charged me interest of {$220.00}, XXXX on XXXX XXXX and XXXX on XXXX XXXX. When I contacted American Express in XXXX XXXX to explain the situation along with mentioning that I 've always paid my bill in full since opening the account in XXXX, American Express stated they could n't refund my interest charges. Complaint: I received a letter from American Express that they had changed in error changed the structure of my Green Card. This was done without my consent or knowledge. The changed had caused me to incur interest and late fees unknown to me. They have supposedly credited my account the interest and late fees but have since tripled my minimum monthly payments and restricted my card usage. I feel as though theyre having me pay for their error. Theres no way I can make a minimum payment of {$2000.00}. They have threaten to report me to the credit bureau. I feel the entire ordeal is unjust and have explained to them I have no problem paying the suppose debt theyre holding me to but to balloon my monthly minimum is causing me financial hardship as a single working mother. Ive outlined all that in a letter to their Chairmans Office but have not gotten a response from them on the matter. Ive had my American Express card for 18 years and have never had an issue with them until this error which they acknowledge in a letter to me they caused.

Complaint: I have had an American Express card since XXXX. I upgraded from green to gold a few decades ago and from gold to platinum a few years ago. On XXXX, I was assessed annual membership fees of {$720.00} ( {$550.00} for me + {$170.00} for my wife 's card ). This fee is assessed IN ADVANCE. I decided to close the account. It took me a few weeks to transfer several regular, automatic monthly payments from this card to another credit card. Having completed that, I called AmExp today to cancel my card. They will not refund any portion of the {$720.00} membership fee THAT I PAID IN ADVANCE. They offered to downgrade me to a less expensive card ( green card - {$95.00} fee ) and to give me a credit for a portion of the {$720.00}. I do not want that. I want to close my account and receive a refund of the unused portion of the membership fee. On a per diem basis, I 've had the card from XXXX through XXXX, which is 39 days. {$720.00} divided by 365 days multiplied by 39 days equals {$77.00}, to which they may be entitled. I demanded a refund of {$640.00} XXXX {$720.00} I paid minus {$77.00} to which they may be entitled XXXX but was refused. Can you help me, please?

The agent can not resolve the issue and said there would be no a time frame when this issue could be resolved in near future. 3. Made the third time call in XX/XX/XXXX. The Amex agent said this system issue is still not resolved and can not tell you when this issue could be resolved.

Complaint: Im fed up of American Express they have been running me around for months on a claim where the company XXXX Sent them a bill for repairs to the car days after turn in and they also sent the rental agreement with the check out stating I was checking car out with scratches and dings, and ON THE CHECK IN SIDE THEY HAVE NO ADDITIONAL DAMAGES!! And both check in and check out are signed American Express has had to reopen this claim 4 times!! I have sent in Pictures of the car, My statement, signed a affidavit, a video of car at turn in, and a copy of the rental agreement saying no damages at check in ... American Express has asked me to File some type of car insurance claim on the damages but that would be filing a false claim because there was no damages, as well as I have grave all the information that I can possibly give!! The amount in question is {$570.00} and i ask for this amount to be credited to my account right now! I 'm done talking to these guys!! running me around for months, open and closing claim, hoping I fail to respond so they do n't have to pay is wrong! This company has lied and was caught lying red handed by there own paperwork they sent to American express.. what more would you need besides there own documents, pictures and my statement!

Complaint: My identity was stolen in XX/XX/XXXX. I received a letter from the FBI n XX/XX/XXXX notifying me of that fact. Then in XX/XX/XXXX I got a letter from American Express informing me that my credit line was being reduced from {$11000.00} down to {$5900.00} and cash advances of {$200.00} the reason and information was based on information provided by XXXX. My credit score was as high as XXXX. During that time I sent several letters to all of the credit agencies to correct my credit files. I tried to make sure that the agencies had accurate information. After reviewing my old letters, I remembered that I also had at those credit monitoring services one with XXXX and one with XXXX and they really did n't catch anything. I lost confidence in the service because one of the crooks was monitoring my account as well. To this day ever since I wrote letters to XXXX canceling my monitoring service and complaining about their service, it seems like I 've been placed on their enemies lists. I do n't know if one really exists, but here 's what I mean. My American Express credit limit is still {$5900.00} and {$200.00} in cash advance. I paid the balance off back in XX/XX/XXXX and nothing has changed since that time. Even after I got the police report and became a confirmed victim of Identity theft and I never missed a payment on any account. Wrote several times correcting everything. XXXX was especially slow about updating my files until I sent a letter saying I was trying to refi my home and all of a sudden they cleaned my file up to an extent. Over the years they have continued to play games, 2 years ago I had another back and forth to remove a lien error. The exchange was brief but I sent a few letter and it really was the only negative item on my file other than card balances. I am refinancing my home now and 2 out 3 credit reporting agencies have my credit history as too short or insufficient. XXXX and XXXX. XXXX has my credit score at XXXX and all of the lenders are using XXXX low score to quote me a loan. I got a quote from XXXX they only used XXXX 's score. I got a quote from XXXX XXXX they are only using XXXX 's low score and key factors on credit score form. Which states that length of revolving account history is too short. It seems as though XXXX is retaliating against me and keeping my score at the lowest possible range score it can justify and then also obscure my credit history by throwing in some XXXX like " length of time revolving accounts have been established is too short. '' When they know full well I have an extensive credit history. I have filed a similar compliant but once i looked at my old notes I wanted to add more. XXXX is no saint either. They are telling the same lie in attempt to present me as a risky borrower despite my 27 year excellent credit history. Completely unfair.

Complaint: This is about the American Express ( The XXXX XXXX Card ). This is probably the card that I owned for the least period time ( a year or so and currently already terminated ). I only used it a few times ( probably less than 10 times ). I have called their customer service many many times for the recent at least 6 months. It started with somehow they would n't let you set up auto pay while gave you wrong information that let you believed the auto pay was set up successfully. You did n't pay attention, thought everything was all set. When you finally found it out, it was too late and they already charged you for the late fees and interests and kept accumulating. Then you called them back and had them resolved the issue ( you were told ), but they did nothing actually. However they were telling you that they waived your fee and again helped you set up the auto pay - all set was told. Meanwhile, they kept charging you cumulatively. After so many contacts of their customer service, I finally paid the fees and thought this headache was gone ... but found they were still charging you. Called again many times, one time were told the supervisor would call me back in 24 hours ... never did. the last time were told again this was resolved and the fees were all removed ( XX/XX/XXXX ). Then the bill came again .... I called back today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) with the customer service representative 's name and id who I spoke with last time and who told me it was all resolved with fees all removed. Only were told there was no record of this calling!!! Then again telling me they will have supervisor review the case and call me back. When asked for time frame, I was told it could be days, weeks, months or years. Basically no time frame they could provide. My credit score were 800+ ( not sure because of them if I lost any points ). I never had any problems with any other credit card companies except American Express. The current amount they 're charging me is {$79.00}. Even though it is not a big amount but it 's very wrong!! And, I did pay them fees and interest once already even though I do n't believe I should be charged for that. Because I just did n't want to deal with this anymore, But it was not successful to stop them charging me even more. This is become a torture to me.

Complaint: on XX/XX/XXXX while shopping for airline ticket Delta lured me to apply for DELTA Gold Skymiles American Express card by offering free 1st bag checking plus {$150.00} statement credit if I apply for the card buy the ticket using the card. I applied for the card but when I continued the check out process I was surprised that there was no option to use the card that I had just applied for. Instead I had to complete the purchase using other credit cards. Instead of completing the checkout I contacted American Express and explained the situation and asked if I get the benefits if I buy the ticked using other card if I get approved for the DELTA Gold card advertised and was told that to get the benefits I have to be approved first and actually receive the card in the mail to use it. So I decided to wait. However, this was my second surprise because it took only seconds in the past to be approved for American Express Gold, for XXXX and other cards that offer their applications online with immediate use after the approval. While representative from Amex told me that their approval may take 3 to 4 business days. So I took the chance of tickets not being available at a later date and decided to wait for a new card. When online status showed " In Progress '' a week later I called American Express again and was transferred to their new application division. They told me that because of the technical glitch it will take another 48 hours. This was on Friday,XX/XX/XXXX. And the promise was given to me by the floor manager XXXX XXXX When I called back following Tuesday,XX/XX/XXXXXXXX XXXX said that they still have a technical issue and many applications for DELTA Gold are being held and promised final decision in another 18 hours or by XXXX XXXX Wednesday, On Wednesday the status online was still " In Progress '' and when I called XXXX XXXX was not available. As of today,XX/XX/XXXXthe status still shows " In Progress ''. I find it hard to believe that it takes such a long time for American Express to approve or disapprove an application while other companies are doing this in seconds. I find it even harder to believe that American Express will take more than 2 weeks to fix a technical glitch if it is a technical glitch.

It was my understanding if I spent {$3000.00} in the first XXXX months I would be awared XXXX Delta SKy Miles, I proceeded to spend the money. made sacrafices to pay on this card ( I could have been using another reward card ) I checked my balances and paid my bill on time .... but when I called to today because I had not seen my XXXX miles deposited- they said I did not qualify because I had another card in XXXX that was cancelled. they said it was in the terms of agreement ... .. who reads them?? that was NEVER mentioned on the flight during the announcements, not one flight attendant mentioned you could not have had another Delta card in the past years ... .. Nothing was mentioned about that term ... .which is pretty significant -- -- they just encouraged you to apply for the card and to the miles ... .. I know it works well, because my daughter also requested a card. I am just very disappointed because they could have automatically put me into a platinum card, so I could have had the same perks ....

Complaint: I continue to be charged interest on purchases even though I am still within the 0 % promotional period on purchases until XX/XX/XXXX. I contacted American Express after I noticed this on my first statement in the amount of {$21.00} The customer service representative reversed the interest and credited my account. He said that it was a known issue and it was now fixed and I would no longer have a problem. So, when I received my XX/XX/XXXX statement, I had the same issue. I was charged {$41.00} in interest on purchases. I contacted customer service and again was told that this was a known issue for some customers and they were working on a solution. I was informed that it would be resolved. This time I was not issued a credit back to the account. Please see attached documentation. Thank you so much in helping to resolve this matter.

Complaint: I am a long-term card holder of American Express since XXXX, and I have never missed a payment or late with a payment. Sometime around the third week of XXXX I received a call from an AMEX Underwriter. The underwriter informed me that based on my credit report my account balance would be capped at XXXX. I was also informed that to use the card I would have to show proof of earnings. I responded that my wife and I file jointly and my earnings are confidential, proof of earnings was still requested. I explained that we were going on trip to XXXX XXXX where we have vacationed for the past 11 years. He stated that he would allow a XXXX} charge limit. I provided proof that the reason for negative credit report was and is based on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX which are listed and open with the CFPB. In fact, I have retained counsel to represent me in federal court against XXXX. This is also reported by an FBI investigation in which XXXX was found to have committed fraud, Identity Theft and Forgery of my signature. It is being determined whether the same attorney will represent me against XXXX XXXX XXXX. This proof provided to the Underwriter had no weight in decision making nor joint filing with my wife. I was not billed nor was I informed about the non-billing for the month of XXXX and a dispute was in place for XXXX XXXX for unauthorized charges of XXXX each month. I was then billed for XXXX} due on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX which was greater than anything based on balance. I complained to the XXXX XXXX and spoke to a XXXX XXXX XXXX, see attached. XXXX XXXX was professional and concerned but stuck to the Amex playbook. Based on my conversation with the Underwriter I strongly believed that I was being kicked out of Amex as a risk. I felt this with XXXX XXXX as well and believed that cancelling my card was what they were looking for. XXXX XXXX also stated that the information supplied on XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX was not sufficient for the Underwriter. In conversations with counsel, I was made aware that cancelling my card would affect me negatively. I believe that I have been subjected to Unfair and Deceptive practices. See attached support documentation, and statements. Kicked Out of Amex!
