Complaint: The account was permanently blocked on the XXXX of XXXX XXXX due to alleged fraudulent activity although supporting documentation was given to show that there was no fraud involved the balance was {$100.00} in the checking account and {$600.00} in the savings account that was deposited from my pay check American Express has failed to release the money owed to me within a reasonable amount of time the first contact on the issue was XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and was told by a female agent I would recieve my money in 7 or 10 business days I recieved {$100.00} in a check on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX 20 days past the date that was said and here I am today XXXX/XXXX/XXXX still waiting to recieve the rest of my {$600.00} from the savings account I spoke with a female agent on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX who said it would be sent in 7 or 10 business days again more lies

Complaint: I filed a dispute on XX/XX/XXXX to dispute fraudulent charge of {$5500.00} to m yXXXX card on XX/XX/XXXX after returning home from vacaction. Tried to cancel with vendor while on vacation and got the run around so did some investigating and found hundreds of the same complaints.I have called, written and sent supporting documents to the card company numerous times with the end result being they need a detailed letter describing the events surrounding my claim and the credit amount I am requesting! I have attached 3 letters and all the documents I have sent them 3x 's and have probably called around 20x 's! What more could they possibly need with all the documentation and complaints I have attached. I do not have proof of cancellation, since I could never speak or get in touch with anyone from the provider as everyone else in this same situation. This vacation company is a scam and are ripping off tons of people and XXXX chooses to ignore it! I know they have received other complaints against this company since their name is mentioned in many complaints!

Complaint: I opened an American Express account in XXXX, when I was XXXX XXXX XXXX. I overcharged that account and was unable to pay the amount in full at the end of the month. I explained to the bank that my parent had had XXXX XXXX XXXX and I needed time to pay off the debt. Those requests were ignored and the amount was sent into collection and the account was closed without any discussion. I also was not notified at that time that I could dispute the debt. I immediately paid off the debt using all resources available to me and the delinquency is still reported on my credit report, 5 years later, even though it was charged off, even though I was never contacted about being able to dispute the debt and even despite my many requests for assistance. American Express treated me unfairly and trapped me when I was XXXX into a situation that I could not get out of without help from external sources. It is still affecting my credit score and life opportunities 5 years later.

Complaint: American Express is the worst credit card company.They charged my credit card without my authorization. I have spent thousands of dollars in attorney fees and is telling me I 'm responsible for paying for it. Stay away from American Express. If they come near your wallet, throw your wallet away. If they call you hang up immediately. My experience with Amex is terrible. They keep sending the same questions to my attorney and is just the worst company to deal with. No resolution, just give you the run around. If you have an Amex account, discontinue using them. Stay away! Beware!

Complaint: Both myself and my husband opened balance transfer cards with American Express. I transferred {$750.00} to one card in my name and my husband transferred {$1500.00} to a different card in his name. We were suppose to receive a 0 % promotional interest rate on both cards for 12 months. On my first statement, I was charged about {$7.00} in interest, so I called the company and they said they would resolve it. It was never resolved and on my second statement, I was charged another {$15.00}. I did not charge any additional amounts/purchases to the card and I have made all payments a few days before the due date. Similarly with my husband 's account, he was charge {$13.00} on his first statement, and {$25.00} on his second statement after already notifying American Express. We have called in on both accounts twice for a total of 4 separate instances ( each instance of interest charged ). On our most recent call, we were told that it was a known issue and they would credit the account for the interest charged but were unsure if this would resolve future statements and to call if we noticed interest on our statement. I told them that I should not have to keep calling in to have compounding interest removed from our cards and that the amount we were being charged did not even make sense since we keep making payments and we were not making any additional charges regardless of the promotional period. I was told by American Express that they were only able to fix this issue for people who called in. Though I have finally received a credit, I feel that since this happened to both of our accounts, that we will both be charged interest again next month and will have to have it credited again. The credit only happened after I told American Express they had violated the TILA Act as well as the Credit Card Act of 2009 because they originally claimed when I called in that the interest was from the balance transfer fee. My balance transfer fee was only {$22.00}, my minimum payment was {$35.00}, and my on time payment was {$63.00}. With my husbands, the balance transfer fee was {$30.00}, minimum payment was {$49.00}, and his on time payment was {$120.00}. Thus, there should be no interest at all since the over payment should pay for the highest interest balance anyway, and I have a feeling that American Express is charging hundreds, if not possibly thousands of customers with interest that they are not even aware of. The only way to see this charge is if you read the bottom lines of your statement. Most people set up an automatic transfers or purchase additional items and possibly do not notice the inconstancy. I believe American Express is taking advantage of people and breaking the law. Again, they confirmed that this is a known issue and that they can fix it only if you call and argue with their customer service representatives. Though I plan to pay off this card and close it as soon as possible, I feel it is important this issue be reported to help make this right for American Express users.

Complaint: XXXX XXXX, XXXX I paid my XXXX over the amount that was due. I ended up calling XXXX to refund the money back to my account in which they did. I look at my account today and see that American Express Serve is holding the amount that was taking out of my account. They keep sayings its there policy but numerous times I have received refunds in a timely matter. They state its due to the amount but its my money and I should not have to wait XXXX days to receive my own money back especially when I have bills to pay. This company continued to mislead customers and its not fair one bit.

Complaint: Signed up for the American Express Premier Rewards Gold card, last year around XXXX timeframe under the bonus offer of : Spend XXXX in the first 3 months and receive 45k points and also spend XXXX the next year ( from XXXX XXXX, XXXX to XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX and receive 2k additional points. I have spent the required {$2000.00} and still have not received the points even after contacting customer server 3 seperate times. The last lady I talked to said that marketing made a mistake with the dates. I have original screenshots of the original offer when first applying and also amex sent me an email reminder about the 25k points as well. I will attach to this submission.

Complaint: I have filed a complaint with American Express regarding their XXXX miles promotional offer based on which I applied and received this credit card. It has been 6 months since I had the card and I still do not have the miles even though I met the criteria in the first month. I was told there was an " issue '' they are investigating and that I will receive a final answer by XX/XX/XXXX. Of course, this did not happen and every time I contact them they say wait more. Last time I spoke was with a supervisor named XXXX via chat on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX central time ( chat ID : XXXX ) and he said the case was still open which strange because I was told before it was closed. He also said that there are other customers who have the same issue. This was the first time I heard that and they never want to say what the issue was. I asked for legal department contact information and he said they do not have one. This is clearly fraudulent advertising and what makes it more appalling is that they continue to send me emails with the same add.

Complaint: I live in the State of Connecticut. I Received an American Express Serve Card as a gift on XXXX XXXX XXXX for an amount of {$150.00} I did not use the card. Today XXXX XXXX XXXX I went to check the Balance and it is {$95.00} I contacted the company and they said that they had the right to charge me a monthly service fee of {$4.00} starting 30 days after purchase of the card because I did not register the card. They said if I had registered the card the monthly fee would have been waved.But no where on the card does it say that. I thought that in the state of Connecticut they could not charge a fee for the first XXXX Months.
